Satellite A100: Error power USB from standby after update BIOS 5.20

Hello

I have problems of USB power since the upgrade my BIOS to 5.2 days on receipt of an email from Toshiba, advise the upgrade

I got a 100 - 200 PSAA8E Windows XP Media Edition since the upgrade of the BIOS to 5.20 I get message error power but only when the computer comes out of standby

The error message tells me that "a USB device has exceeded the limits of its hub port power.

I have nothing connected to one of the USB ports

I talked to guys tech at length to Toshiba, but they can't seem to explain or correct the problem - a same thought it could be a motherboard problem, but cut which like the timing is too coincidental to be something other than the upgrade of the BIOS.

If anyone knows a fix, so I would be grateful - is - it possible to find a previous BIOS and roll back from 5.20

I guess if it's the BIOS, then when they deliver another it will correct itself?

Comments appreciated

Phil

Hello Phil

Maybe again the stupid question, but I also want to know why you made the decision to do the BIOS update? Is there a particular reason or you just want to have laptop with the latest version of the BIOS.

  • Satellite 4100xcdt does not recognize HARD drive after update BIOS version 8.20

My laptop is a satellite 4100XCDT with windows xp and I want to install linux.
Have the cd bootable linux (tested on other computers) but laptop doesn't not boot cd shape so I updated the bios with version 8.20 from the toshiba support site.
Tried the disks formatted 1.44 and 7.20 such as recommended in the manual of the 4xxx series. BIOS has been updated successfully

Result: after pressing the switch of the usual screen Toshiba appears, after the disc hard led flashes for a few seconds then windows except modus menu appears. After I made my choice (all tried) a few seconds later (and hard drive led light) flashes a blue screen (not enough long to read the message) and the computer is restarted. When starting from a back bootable floppy, I can't reach the (cd rom) drives (hdd) C and D
But in my opinion that Windows Save menu modus is called from the hard drive (so I think that the hard drive still works)

    Hello

Well, in my opinion a part on the HARD drive or bootable partition might be corrupted.
You are right, if the windows save mode appears therefore HARD drive has been recognized by the BIOS and the HARD drive is bootable.

I think there must be something wrong with the data on the HARD drive.

  • Satellite Pro 4320: cannot use PCMCIA card after update BIOS 2.70

    Hello!

I'm using the Toshiba Satellite Pro 4320 (SP 4320). With the very old BIOS (first) version 1.0, the system has worked well on LINUX (Ubuntu) and Windows XP. So I found the update of the BIOS (latest version on the toshiba Web site). I did update the BIOS version 1.0 BIOS version 2.7.

Now, I can't use any PCMCIA card.
Everything works fine, but I can't use two PCMCIA slots.
The cards will be recognized, but the system says that there is a resource conflict.
(WLAN/WiFi adapter) PCMCIA cards worked very well with the old BIOS version 1.0, but now it does not work.

Windows XP says: 'conflict resource' and Ubuntu/Linux said after typing dmesg: "pccard gives wrong answer, for example."

    Please, help me!

Someone got an older version of BIOS?
My idea is to 'downgrade' the BIOS BIOS version 1.0 or version 1.x.

I have to downgrade the BIOS to at least 2. 6.

    Bye,.
    Martin

Have you tried installing WXP again using Toshiba Recovery CD?
I mean it's so old model of laptop and I can't imagine that Toshiba will offer this update of the BIOS so long if there is a serious problem with it.

  • 7359 2-in-1: no sound from speakers after updating BIOs

    Hi all

Recently bought a 7359 2-in-1 and have been more or less satisfied - except for one glaring problem: there is no sound on the speakers (and despite checking all properties, etc.) after the last update of the BIOs Dell - WS - 01.08.00.exe.

I spoke several times with the Service from Dell, who asked without success to find a solution and I even did a full factory restore - nothing worked until (and after much aggravation and the research on the advice of the forum...) - I got the BIOs with an earlier version: (01.06.00, A05 26 Feb 20167:37: 58 AM).

I have the sound back now, but - it is not acceptable for a new factory unit, it can?

Also, as aside, is a note possible to turn on the stereo mix (check-in line/waveout), as I had on my previous Dell XPS 13 and Inspiron? It is not a matter of 'right-click-enable-disabled' - that's all just not there on this computer, unless I want to dare to add a value to registry - not something for the fainthearted on a new computer laptop...

    Suggestions, anyone?

  • Touchpad no longer works after update BIOS on Satellite A500-1GL

    Hello world

I just bought my laptop Satellite A500-1GL today. I started at the top and plays a bit (nothing serious). The touchpad worked very well at the moment.

Then I discovered this tool to update the material and the update of the BIOS that worked without any problems. After I restarted the laptop, BIOS, loaded the default values of the installation and recorded.
After that Windows 7 (x 64) started the touchpad no longer works...

I downloaded the driver here and installed again once, still does not. I went into the BIOS, disabled the touchpad (I thought that maybe it's a bug...) and started again. It still does not...

I enabled it again in the BIOS, tried to push the function + F9, but it still does not... Finally, I used the recovery and installed a Windows 7 costs.
    But unfortunately it still doesn't.

Now, I'm out of ideas, can anyone help?
Is there a chance to get the older version of BIOS to downgrade it?

    Thanks in advance ;)

    Hello

It seems strange that after update Bios touchpad no longer works.

    > Is there a chance to get the older version of BIOS to downgrade it?

To be honest, I don't know where to find. In any case, do a search on Google. Perhaps, other users of the forum can give you a link to download.
The downgrade of the Bios is riskier upgrade procedure. So, be careful the next time...

  • Satellite Pro A300 (PSAG9E) - after updating BIOS Windows will not start

Restart went well after update BIOS and Windows XP logo appears loads for a few seconds then a beep and restart - last good known or start Windows normally same effect.
Reboot back to start - this is a new laptop - using the BIOS of Toshiba s official download site.

Quite annoyed to try to find a way to upgrade or downgrade the BIOS.
Took battery and RAM to see if I can delete it?

    Any ideas anyone?

I think you mean BIOS * update * and do not upgrade ;)
    An upgrade is not possible

However, you can try to remove the battery and the AC adapter and wait an hour. After that, reconnect the battery and the AC adapter and try to start Windows.
Moreover I would load the default settings in the BIOS before starting Windows.

If it doesn't work, it seems that your ROM module needs to be reflashed. In this case an ASP can help you.

  • Pavilion g6-2215sia: CARD without WIRE NOT DETECTED AFTER UPDATE BIOS

Recently I have updated my BIOS on my laptop HP Pavilion g6-2215sia think he'll adjust the hardware acceleration feature missing in my system (there is no option in my BIOS to enable virtualization technology). My BIOS version was F.12 and I've updated to F.24, but after update BIOS all my wireless functionality no longer works (including my wifi and bluetooth), and still there is no option to enable virtualization technology in my BIOS settings. On my Windows 8.1 x 64 Pro wifi and bluetooth options are grayed out so I can't turn them on or off. I tried to reinstall my bluetooth driver, but the software says that it doesn't detect any bluetooth hardware. Even when I restart and boot in all my Linux distributions installed on my system (Ubuntu, Quina and Kali Linux) and my x 86 Android, they still do not detect my wireless capability (says Ubuntu, "wifi is disabled by hardware switch").

To confirm that this was not a software problem, I has conducted an audit of start-up and tested for my wireless module and got this result, "without WIRE MODULE CHECK: NOT INSTALLED". The only way I can get my Windows operating system to recognize my wireless (wifi and bluetooth) is now by doing a hard reset, when I unplug my laptop from the power supply, remove the battery and hold the power button for about 30 seconds. When I turn on my system, then I can turn my wifi/bluetooth on my Windows. But if I restart my system the problem comes back and I can't turn on my wireless. So basically, I have to avoid questioning my system off and only Hibernate, so that whenever I turn on my laptop I can use the wireless. If I restart my system so I have to repeat the hard reset in order to use my wifi/bluetooth, which can be very annoying.

The problem is that I often use my other Linux disributions and I have to restart before starting in them so that my readers will be mounted read/write, and when I do my Linux can not detect my wireless and it's a serious pain for me because I need to use my wireless often for internet connection.

Please I really need help on how to fix this and get my wireless working normally without having to do a hard reset every time. I tried to restore my BIOS F.12 unfounded but I don't have the image file (I extensively searched the Internet to find, but does not). I've even updated again to F.26 but I still have the same problem (my current version of BIOS is F.26).

If you see no updates the BIOS in your list of drivers - where do you have the updates to the BIOS, you used?

Try here - if you do not see the list of the BIOS, use the "Edit" button to change Windows 8.1 to Windows 8:

My Satellite A100-991 (MS Windows XP MCE, SP3) does not start from a USB key or USB hard drive. The same USB devices are bootable if they are connected to a desktop computer or a laptop from other manufacturers. I put the USB as the first boot device and use an image "Bart PE" on my USB device.

In fact, I have installed 2.10 Phoenix Bios version and I wonder if I could update the BIOS by using the 'sa105v21.exe' program and that this would resolve the startup problem.

    Hello

Have you tested different USB keys? I think that your current USB key is not compatible
Also test the USB to different USB ports. A port may be defective for the computer to start t with him.

Theoretically, you can try upgrading the BIOS but don t forget s a bit more risky and it should be the last step.
Prior to this, load default settings in the BIOS and check if you can boot from USB.

  • Satellite A100-036 - disturbing noise from power supply

    Hello!

I use Satellite A100-036. Lately, I've noticed a whistling top-height standard adapter Toshiba coming, sort of some fluorescent lamps do, only much quieter.

Yet, the adapter is on the table near the laptop, is disturbing. The character changes with the activity of the laptop (as the disk in use).

Should I be worried, or is it OK?
As I remember, there was no this sound when I bought it (2 years ago).

    Thank you!

My adapter was defective. The cable broke and similar high-pitch whistles was so noticeable.
I replaced the adapter because as Akuma said already this device uses high voltage and shouldn't t serve if she s defective!

  • Satellite M30X-111 wake up from standby/hibernation mode

People, like many of you, I had the questionable connection DC problem and I solved this at the time of re - solder the wandering joint on the connector for the motherboard.

Everything was fine with the laptop until yesterday when I tried to get the machine to wake from standby / hibernation if it is when you close the screen) and now all that happens is that the blue light around the power button lights up, the CPU fan runs for about 5 seconds, the HARD drive light flashes once Maybe two times and the DVD briefly climb towers.

Also nothing happens... the screen is blank and the laptop is actually not from the occasional maelstrom of the fan.

Is it in any case to perform a reset of some sort to get it to snap it on hibernation? I have read up on this subject on various forums and have tried to start without memory, without the HARD drive and the DVD drive and still no life.

Any input is appreciated that I need this laptop to spring into life again.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

to wake up the machine, simply remove the battery and the AC and leave the machine for a few hours. After that, it should work again.
By the way: sometimes it s a good idea to do a biosupdate, because maybe the problem comes from the bios.

Please give some comments about your success... :)
