Satellite A500 - recovery failed

I was wondering if anyone has experienced this and found a fix.

A500 (PSAR9A - 02S 001) recovery with a factory integrated restore (F8 system startup) chose to recover all the software factory in the first step. Chose to recover with the wipe of hard disk in step 2.

He wiped the C: drive, but does not restore the factory software. To complete it, he did not score the hidden partition as active, so I had nothing but menu device the BIOS boot up to what I have to put the disc in my PC and it marked as active.

Now I'm stuck with the only options being the normal Windows F8 options (Safe Mode etc.), in order to "Repair my computer" is missing in the F8 menu, then in the menu '0', I am asked to provide the image to restore from, but cannot choose the hidden (12 GB) partition which obviously contains the original image.

With the exception of having bought the Toshiba recovery disks, is there a hope for this device?

See you soon.

Peter.

> "Repair work station" is not in the F8 menu...
> Apart from buying the Toshiba recovery disks, y at - it a hope for this unit?
Unfortunately there is no other solution. Your biggest mistake, it's that you don't l l create recovery disc following the advice of Toshiba in Toshiba recall or s user manual document.

I know, now it's too late but how recovery installation works you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm

Do you know where you can order the recovery disk?

  • Satellite A500 - problems with the creation of recovery disks

    Hello
I bought a Satellite A500 yesterday and now I'm trying to create the recovery discs before anything else.
However, towards the end of the 1st DVD I get an error message saying "Faile dto open the next file. e:\Boot\BCD (0201123-F1-00000000 error code)"and then when I click 'OK', the DVD is ejected giving a message"unable to create recovery 1' media. Physical examination, I noticed that the DVD is written almost entirely.

Any advise on this? In addition, in the interface, it shows a USB option and says to insert a USB media with more than 7 GB of free. That I can use it to create the recovery disk? If Yes, when I reinstall windows 7, this allows as a bootable drive?

Greately appreciate any help on this matter. If it is defective, I want to return as soon as POSSIBLE.

    Thank you
    Mercier.

As far as I know, that you can not use external device for recovery, it is therefore very important create recovery DVDs.

Try to create the recovery disk using only DVD-R media. Use high quality media like TDK or Verbatim.
Last month, I've created on the Satellite A500-157 recovery discs and everything went well.

  • Recovery system or updated on the Satellite A500 - 13 c

Hello I have a problem with my laptop.

I have Toshiba Satellite A500 - 13 c with installed VIsta x 64 system, but my hard drive is broken (repair is uneconomic), so I bought the new HARD disk drive, and I have my question there.

My HARD drive is broken so I didn't drive instalation for my Windows Vista, I have a label with the number Vista system, can I install this system with the other disc DVD with Windows Vista on my laptop?

Or maybe there is a possibility to update my version of Windows Vista to Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, if this is possible without my original Windows Vista installed on my laptop?

Can I update Windows with only the laptop product key?

    > My HARD drive is broken so I didn't drive instalation for my Windows Vista, I have a label with the number Vista system, can I install this system with the other disc DVD with Windows Vista on my laptop?
No, I don't think that this serial key will operate under different Vista installation disc.
He touches s OEM and belongs to the system which is part of the image of Toshiba and usually it will not work with external MS. installation disc

But you can order a recovery disc (if it s not discontinued) which might help you to install the Toshiba on this laptop Satellite A500 image.

The recovery disc can be ordered from Arvato:

  • Satellite A500/A505 - some problems after the recovery process

I recently used the my Satellite A500, A505 recovery partition to get rid of a particularly persistent virus after running several antivirus programs, all to nothing does not.

Now the virus seems to have disappeared, but the computer doesn't seem to be in the State it was in immediately after its opening.

Firstly, the resolution is such that the taskbar, menu start and the desktop icons are all much larger than normal.

Secondly, it seems to be missing some graphics files enables it to play my games that I put on it from my backup (in other words, it is showing the bottom of the game screen and play music and SFX without showing the character sprites or the menu options).

Thirdly, my Fn + F6/F7 does not allow me to adjust the brightness of the screen of the computer, the only way that I know how to adjust the brightness of a Toshiba laptop.

EC who if anything, could I hurt in all this?
What might be able to do to solve these problems?
I don't have no internet right now, but I have a USB and eternal patience, so I can use another computer and transfer everything what you suggest on mine.

Nevertheless, I prefer solutions that do not like it, if possible.

    Surely appreciated!

To be honest I never heard of this issue.
In my opinion you should try to make the installation of recovery one more time to check if the same problem occurs again.

    You have created recovery disks?
If Yes use recovery disks for recovery image installation.

  • Satellite A500 - HARD drive recovery option is no longer available at the F8 Menu

    Hello, this my phone trees.
I reset my Satellite A500 and due to a power failure reset did not finish. When I have inexplicable with F8 I can see HARD drive recovery option, and then must log on my account that I did not at all because of the power failure.
Then I installed a copy of Vista retail, hoping to create an account and be able to retrieve from the HARD drive.
PROBLEM! : Now I don't see the "Recovery disk" option at all.
QUESTION: There must be a way to integrate this option in the windows Startmenu (F8). Can someone help me with this issue? I burn the DVD recovery and the recovery partition is still there.
    Thanks in advance.

More big mistake made you ve, it's that you don't l l create recovery DVD such as recommended by Toshiba.

Why you didn t ask how it works before you do anything?
You've misunderstood with username and account.

Now, when you use your own installation, you need to remove the option for installation of HARD drive recovery and the recovery image can be installed with recovery only DVDs.
    Now, you have two options:
-to order the new recovery DVDs or
d ' use the clean install of the OS.

What do you think of this?
To be honest, I think you need to use Windows 7 on this laptop.

I recommend you to install Win7. Download page for all the necessary drivers, you can find and download from Toshiba

If you have more questions or need help please let me know.

  • Satellite A500-1GL: recovery reached Office Reboot again and again - solved

I did a restore on my Satellite A500-1GL using F8 to recovery on the HARD drive.

However after the computer goes through the implementation of Windows 7 for the first time, from desktop it immediately disconnects and restarts.

This process of setting up Windows for the first time, including initialization screen white with logoff bar then immediate green and stop constantly repeats.

Same result with Recovery CD I created again.

It is no longer an option to repair the computer when you press F8.

    Any suggestions please?

If I end up having to reinstall Windows 7 from another copy, then how can I go about it like

    -* SOLVED * -.

-It turns out that he must restart about 6 - 7 times to complete the installation.

    Hello

As I see that everything is fine. It is logical that laptop restarts several times while recovery facility is running. I do not know how it looks with your machine, but when I use the recovery machine it starts with the number 1/64. With other words, it must be installed 64 components (software) and then some of them laptop restarts simply but installation will continue.

When the recovery image is complete it is still displayed on the screen and the laptop owner is notified that installation of recovery has been completed successfully.

  • Satellite A500-18 t: is it possible to creat recovery external HARD disk drive

    Hello

I just bought a Satellite A500-18 t and before the first launch, I wonder if it is possible to create the recovery disk on a USB external drive, rather than burning a DVD.

No, something like this is not possible.
Please create recovery DVDs and do not forget, that you will lose not.
To create recovery discs, I recommend using the media high quality as TDK or Verbatim DVD-R.
I had very good experiences with the media in the past.

  • Windows 7 on Satellite A500-1EE - problems with the system recovery

After five years of good functioning sth went wrong. The system tries to boot but lack access to a device (HARD drive?). And then tries to download files to recover. After downloading the recovery fails and the only option is to shut down the computer. How can I recover this system?

    Recovery process is very simply.
Did you create the recovery media (DVD)? If so you can use it for recovery image installation.
Otherwise, you can use HARD drive recovery option (F8 > to fix your computer) and start the recovery image installation.

    Please test F8 option.

  • Recovery failed on the L850 Satellite

Hi, looking for help after a Toshiba Recovery failed on a L850-ID5.

Due to a problem with the windows Explorer that comes, I could not solve, I decided to do the full restoration of Toshiba. Finished, he gave an error code 10-FC12-0570.

Now computer tries to start windows, goes to a blue screen with a few other technical details (too fast to see what is there) and then to the windows recovery page. I tried all the options like mode safe without success. If the left, it will continually cycle and re - start.

Only other option seems to be to use an installation disc, but there is no disc with this laptop.

Any ideas how to get out of this mess?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

Unfortunately I can't say with certainty what the problem but that is defective recovery image or there is a problem with the HARD drive. For a long time, the laptop manufacturers do not offer installation disks but in s manuals explains and describes how these discs can be created and your big mistake is that you didn t do backup recovery image and create the installation of recovery disc.

I don't know how old is your machine, but if the warranty is still valid I recommend you contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. Explain the problem and ask for help.
If they ask for recovery disk, you try to explain that you didn t expect failure of HARD drive and you still don't have it.

In General, you have two options:
-for order of Toshiba recovery media (it is not for free)
-to get the new HARD drive and test it with the original recovery disk
In any case, don't spend your money before you try to clarify this with Toshiba service.

  • Satellite A500-17 x - recovery of Bios without a floppy drive

    Hello

    I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A500-TX.

My BIOS has been updated via the windows application, but the laptop has hung up and restarted (duh!). Now quite understandable, the laptop starts and doesn't show yet anything on the screen when powered on (I guess that the bios is damaged).

I found several ways to reflash the bios by using a floppy drive, but the problem is that the laptop is not equipped with a floppy drive.

Can anyone recommend sort reflash the bios with the floppy drive? Maybe by putting in the shape of the USB as a floppy drive and start? I tried to use the usb reflash via the method of phoenix

    .. .but does not.

    any help would be appreciated!

    > My BIOS has been updated via the windows application, but the laptop has hung up and restarted (duh!).
S is a shame and in my opinion, there is no real alternative for you about contact Toshiba service agent.
If you're lucky, just the ROM module could be reflashed, but in the worst cases, the motherboard may be dead.
