Satellite A60 - recovery disc won't start plus-disque no bootable error

Hello

I set the boot sequence to boot from the cd, but the message reads: no bootable disk.

I tried to open it with ghost, but looking for a password.

Toshiba Satellite A60.

Hello

First you will not be able to extract the ghost image file because it s set as you could see.

I put t know why you can't boot from the recovery CD Toshiba. But reasons could be:
-The CD is defective (zero, not more readable)
-You used a bad CD
-The CD/DVD drive can not handle this CD because of the lens of the laser drive old and faulty.

Then you should check first if you can start on other Microsoft Windows CD to see if the CD/DVD drive is ok.
If it is ok, then there is a problem with your CD!

I have for the recovery disk, but it does not start, so I can't yet to erase my hard drive.
    So far I have tried:
    -Start, then press f8
    -Start, then press c
    -start and press 0

I've already changed my boot order, but my laptop still does not boot CD. The support page, I found several ways to fix it, but nothing works. It also seems that the cd/dvd is not recognized.

Anyone know what I can do now? Please help :)

    Friend Kim

    Hey,.

What model of laptop you have exactly?

Normally, you can boot from the recovery disk Toshiba if enter you the BIOS boot menu, and then select the CD/DVD drive as a boot device. Then press ENTER and that the computer starts from the disk. Key combinations that you mentioned as F8, c, etc. doesn't work, they are for HARD drive recovery.

    > It seems also that the cd/dvd is not recognized
The drive is recognized in the BIOS?

  • After my computer will crash does not start has a black screen with message operating system not found. Responsible for recovery disc but wont start.

not boot Vista after that computer crashed have a black screen with message operating system not found.recovery discs won't load

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

Above is the way you normally boot from the Vista recovery disks.

If you have tried to boot from the recovery without success disks, contact the manufacturer of your computer.

This isn't their recovery process, Microsoft.

  • Satellite A60 - recovery and install xp problem

I have a laptop A60 which is slightly more than 1 year.

A couple of days, about 2 minutes after the start, the screen flashed with a new window (I was unable to see the content, it's appeared and disappeared so fast), then the laptop turned off.

I rebooted, could not boot into winxp I received the error message (please report this problem as a load dll required) missing file. The missing files were all of the system folder.

I then tried the recovery dvd. Everything looked fine, however, he kept failing at windows startup.

Whenever I start the machine now, I get the toshiba logo, which now has lines of Red pixels in the columns towards the bottom of the screen. The same effect occurs when I try to recover using the recovery dvd.

After trying this for some time, I tried to install my own copy of XP home. The laptop starts, attempts to load the files needed for the installation of winxp, gets to the core of the dll and stops with an error 4 impossible to continue.

The recovery cd and winxp cd are in good working condition - validated it on other machines.

Once, the winxp set up did go to the options page so I chose the repair console. I was able to run fixmbr and fixboot. It worked, then I could use the recovery dvd and successfully recovered it. About 2 minutes later, once he had everything installed, I got a blue screen of death and had to re-boot - to see that I was back to the initial situation.

I then used fdisk to set up new partitions. ]

Now, if I try the recovery cd, the laptop starts to load the ghost file and then the screen turns white after a while - the same thing with trying to install a new copy of xp.
I still get the red on the screen pixels when I try the recovery cd and when I start the machine and get the toshiba logo. However, when I try to install xp from my drive, the red lines, points, appear not at all.

My feeling is that I had a master seed virus and need a new hard drive.

Can someone please advise me on this... What do you think that is the problem? If you think it's a virus master seed aswell, can you please tell me what you know how I can fix this or I have to buy a new hard drive. What a RAM problem or a problem with the hard drive controller?

For now, I am going through several thoughts, but keep coming back to the boot virus master = new hard drive!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Paul,.

In this case, my inclination is to suspect the RAM modules. This is based on the assumption that the screen initial 'splash' is not on the hard disk but is stored in the CMOS chip. The fact that your get the Red pixels when it appears would indicate a problem until the hard drive is still accessible.

If you have restored your system using the recovery CD then the Master Boot Record will also have been restored (and is not infected).

Of course, it is perfectly possible that your hard drive may also have problems that would explain the symptoms that you experience when you try to restore you system, but want to try simply to clean the dust from your CPU radiator (with a vacuum cleaner hose) before you try to restore again.

The restore process causes a lot of heat to be generated, and you may well find that it is having a negative effect on your laptop.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite C660D froze and won't start - Windows could not start

OK, enough of the more dense person you will ever likely to meet when it comes to things like that. but will try my best to explain.

There are a few days that my laptop has frozen on me on me having to turn it off and start it again by the power button. When I started again the message below appears.

    WINDOWS ERROR RECOVERY
Windows could not start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.
If windows files have been damaged or misconfigured in, Startup Repair can help diagnose the problem, if the power was interrupted during startup upward, choose start windows normally.

    Thanks for looking

    Dean

    > My question is, is - this easy to fix & if not where is the best place to consider to get fixed. Said I was pretty dense

I think its easy to correct, but you'd need a Toshiba recovery disc.
Have you created one in the past?

If not, try to start the HARD drive recovery: turn on the device, press F8. Now choose fix my computer.
Now new window should open, and here you must select Toshiba HDD recovery option. This would create the laptop back to factory settings.

In case this isn't possible, you will need to boot from a recovery disk to reinstall the system.

  • Satellite M100 - recovery disc reboot after loading ramdisk image

    Hello world

    I have a Satellite M100 (bought mid-2006), 512 MB RAM, 60 GB HDD, Intel CPU T2050.

I decided to have a cleaning and use the restore disc to return the laptop to factory settings, and then reinstall only what I really wanted.
I had this done yesterday, I had forgotten something, then he ran again about 4 hours later.
The first time that the restore worked, now it reboots once the progress bar reaches full when he says "Loading RAMDISK Image".
After the progress bar reaches full, the mouse pointer appears for a few seconds then restart the computer.

Nothing has changed with the hardware or BIOS, and what is on the HD should not have any effect because I am booting from the DVD.
Can someone please help? I am at a loss to explain what happened in this interval of 4 hours.

    Thank you

    Hello!

I put t know which causes the problem too because I m not an expert, but sometimes I can read in the forum, you must delete all partitions before using the recovery disk.
You can do this with the Microsoft disk for example. Just boot from it and delete all partitions. After that, restart and try to use the recovery disc.

I put t know if it helps but you can give us feedback. :)

    Good bye

  • Satellite L300 - recovery disc stops

    Hello

I desperately need help, hope someone can help me here.
On startup, computer laptop, one day, I got the dreaded ERROR LOADING OPERATING SYSTEM.

So I bought a store media recovery disk for my laptop.

Now, I tried all F8 stuff, but it does not work for some reason any on this laptop.

Anyway, disk arrived and did exactly what it said on the back:
Insert the disc and powerdown machine
Press F12 at startup to the top, and then select the optical drive.

Now when he turns back, download the FILES from LOADING of WINDOWS IS.
Then, MICROSOFT CORPORATION (with the bar above it), once this happens a few seconds the CD/DVD drive stops and then get a black screen.

It is not to go further than that.
Tried to restart the laptop without a disc in and all that is to come, then is
    DISK-READ ERROR OCCURRED
Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart

    What should I do?
Can I get in on the Media store and tell them that the disc does not work? If Yes, what is their email address?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello!

In my opinion it's really hard to say what the reason for this. It could also be a problem with the CD/DVD drive or HARD drive.
So have you tested a Microsoft installation disc? You can try with a disc XP or Microsoft Vista. If you booted from it tries to format the HARD drive. Sometimes it of necessary to format the HARD drive before you can use the Toshiba recovery disc. On this way, you can also test if your CD/DVD drive does not work.

If the Microsoft disk does not work also, could be a problem with the HARD drive. You can check the HARD drive with a Drive Fitness Test as a diagnostic tool. Google is your friend to find ;)

Good luck and if you have any other questions, please let us know!

    Good bye

  • Satellite C870D-10 t won't start - flashing cursor

    Hello

    I'm really stuck here,
A few days ago my laptop (Satellite C870D-10 t) began to have problems with its slowness and browsers started to freeze.
Of control of virus then did a chkdisk and then the real problems started.

When I tried to start (recommended), or reboot I get the message starting windows normally when choosing repair startup would start loading windows files then stop after the windows logo and go to a black screen with cursor.
Security modes do not work either.

I must of retries to more than 50 times until I then opted for drive recovery HARD and restore to the factory settings. After I did it I had a similar thing happenend.

Windows first loading of files, windows logo, Assistant recovery: choose language, then the screen with the white cursor black... sometimes I got error F3-F000-0001
Only on one occasion did he go a bit more far but left after the same error message I think.
Restarting the disc also has not worked since the first time I did the HARD drive recovery.

    ANY HELP is very appreciated

    welcome them

    Hello

I think that the HARD drive is faulty.
The cursor blinking in the upper left corner is a typical sign of a malfunction of the HARD drive.
I recommend you to check the new HARD drive.

Also a problem of RAM may be the reason for these problems, but I recommend check (replace) the HARD drive first.

    Hello

I don't think anyone can tell you with certainty what recovery DVDs belongs to a specific model laptop maybe authorized service provider in your country. They should have access to the database of Toshiba and maybe they can identify it.
