Satellite Pro U400 - audio quality is not good
OK this problem has been plaging me for years. I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro U400 windows 8.1.
The sound quality is terrible.
I can remember it's bad in windows 7.Contextant driver is bad, and so is the generic driver windows 8.1.
Help, please
To be honest, I have no idea what you mean exactly by the quality is terrible.
I've owned a notebook Satellite U400 happened and I have to say that the sound quality was quite good.Satellite U400 is a small portable 13.3 and the speakers have been adjusted to the dimensions of the laptop.
The Conexant audio chip is part of the motherboard and you will not be able to replace it.If you want to use another sound card, you can try to use an external USB audio interface.
I use this external sound solution for my home recording studio. The audio interface is connected to the USB port of the laptop s and the external speakers are initiated for the external audio interface.
By the way: isn't Satellite U400 is the list of the supported 8.1 notebooks... Win so you won't find not all drivers Win 8.1 for this unit on the Toshiba driver website.

Satellite Pro U400 Win 7: flashing projector connected to Dynadock U10
I have a number of Dynadocks U10 and Toshiba Satellite Pro U400 laptops.
They are used to allow our teachers to move from one room to the other without having to connect and disconnect several cables. We use a vga connection to a projector for the external monitor.
Everything worked pretty well until we put Win 7 on laptops. Now, at random intervals, the external monitor will blink.
I tried the most up to date drivers and software found elsewhere in these forums.
If I plug the projector directly into the laptop, the flashing stops. Can someone please help avoid losing me my mind completely.
Thank you.
> If I plug the projector directly into the laptop, the flashing stops.
I think it means that the VGA of Dynadock pilot must be upgraded to Win 7 compatible version.
There is nothing wrong in using a direct connection to the laptop, so I think there must be a problem with the driver Dynadock. The latest Dynadock graphics card drivers can be found here:

I don't know what to do, I just installed Office 2007 since I was the computer, nothing else.

Satellite Pro U400: How to remove folder HDD Recovery Vista running Win 8
Hello!
I have updated my Windows Vista to Windows 8 via the Microsoft upgrade offer. Toshiba does not support the upgrade of the Satellite PRO U400 of Win8, but it works so far, only a few features are missing...
In this HARD drive recovery process, Vista folder remained on my partition E: (containing about 5 GB of files dated 2008...).
I HAVE (even 2 sets of) recovery DVD for Vista.
The infrastructure of original HDDRecory for Vista on the laptop ran defective, already long ago for some reason any. There is therefore no reason to keep the old HDD Recory on E: folder.
It is completely unnecessary and I would like to remove this folder without formatting E:.
However, although I work with admin rights, this is strictly rejected by the system of Windows 8.Is there any idea how to get the access rights to delete the HDDRecory folder?
Best regards and thanks for the help!
GernotSo far I didn't test these actions, but if you have administrative rights, maybe it's possible to delete certain partition and without changing the ability to create a new.
Try to do this, use the option of disk management in computer management.Of course before trying to do this backup all other important data stored on that partition.
Please let me know if it will work.

Satellite Pro C660-2JR - wifi is not connecting
Hello
I just bought a laptop Satellite Pro C660-2JR for my daughter, the unit works fine on lan cable, but not connecting not wireless.
Wireless indicator shows an intense tone, but when I click on connect after that 10 seconds, it says connected failed. The network settings are correct (I checked with two other computers that connect without problem), the pc is running x 64 win7. on the toshiba site there is no drivers listed for the local network, I downloaded and installed the drivers from realtek realtek Web site, but no difference.
Is this a problem with x 64?
I've tried the recovery disksCan anyone help?
Thank youRob
On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is, but there must be a problem with the WLAN settings I guess. What else? Your laptop can detect your router. Question is: what router do you have, what WLAN standard do you use, and you have WIFI password or not.
Have you tried to reboot your router and check again?
When you unlock your router you have the same problem? -

My sound card is Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221
I was reading, and I think the problem is: it doesn't have a key in the windows registry value, someone help me, thanks
I did: reinstall the driver, uninstall the driver and put another card sound, change the operating system, works wth 2 sound cards, portable computer, import registry values from the other laptop. but does not solve the problem.
My problem appears with Winodws XP 2002 SP3 and Windows Vista professional
Hello
The port microphone or line is not because you are looking for this audio * output parameters.
The microphone is a device of entry so it s not who listed there. If you go into the volume settings > options > properties you can switch to HD Audio input.
Now you can change the volume of the microphone! :)Good bye

My laptop runs Vista and I've not had problems connecting to my home network wireless until a week ago or not. Then, trying to connect, I see other available networks, but not my own. When I try to connect manually, it says that the network already exists. Other computers, macbooks, are able to connect to my home network without problem. I am able to connect to a network on my laptop fine unsecured wireless.
I could 'solve' the problem or get reconnected with a restoration of the system to an earlier date, but it only lasts a day or two. I searched for another fix and tried many things, including to reset the router, remove my network, and then reinstall, etc, but can't seem to get this to work as if it were - automatic connection as the first network.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
You have rebooted the router and the pc at the same time?
You run the IPCONFIG / all from a cmd prompt can and download a preview of the output to a file share services like rapidshare and put a link to it in your next post?

Satellite Pro U400-18 s faulty motherboard
My friend Satellite Pro U400-18 s will not start.
Pass the initial Toshiba screen, I had to check it out for the PC tech guy, and they could not get pass this screen as well. However, they confirmed that the hard drive has been authorized. They suggest that the motherboard is broken?
Can anyone help? And where can I get a replacement from? I have no recovery disks, like most of the GUY's, I have not read the instructions.Any help would be really appreciated
Who are these guys from tech PC? Maybe Toshiba service provider?
To get the new motherboard will be problematic, so I recommend you contact the nearest authorized Toshiba and ask for help. They can order the new Board of Directors for you.

Satellite Pro U400 VISTA disk management has 6 primary partitions
Hi all!
I have a strange effect on my Toshiba laptop Satellite Pro U400 (but it seems not to be specific to this one that I saw the same symptoms elsewhere, at the same time):
I had the laptop with a 320 GB drive with recovery-(invisible / "Configuration EISA", 1,46 Go) system (C:, ~ 150 GB) and data (E:, ~ 150 GB) volumes. It's the usual structure of Toshiba,
pre-installed OS was Vista professional.
As I plan to install Linux in addition, I have done as a result of preparations:
Recovery disc Vista created 1.).
2.) C: shrunk to ~ 100 GB using Vista disk management tool.
3.) E: shrunk to Go ~ 98 using Vista disk management tool.
It is suggested that 4.) E: directly behind C: using Parted Magic CD.Finally I got a 97 GB of free space at the end of the disc, and everything worked well away. Creating an additional on the free area, Vista disk management, resulted in an extended partition created by Vista. This extended partition contained the extra volume as well as the free space remaining behind.
To prepare for installing Linux, I've finally created three logical Volumes inside the extended partition with Vista disk management tool.
After that, I had the following structure of the partition on the disk (indicated by the Vista Disk Manager):invisible 1.46 GB, primary
C:, ~ 100 GB NTFS, primary, active, System
E:, ~ 98 GB NTFS, primary, data~ 97 GB extended partition, containing:
2 GB unformatted (planned for Linux swap)
20 GB unformatted (planned for Linux root "/")
21 GB unformatted (planned for Linux "/ home")
Empty remaining 54 GB spaceMore on Vista worked properly!
Recently, I installed OpenSuse 11.1 using the volumes placed within extended partitions (user-specific configuration). The Installation worked correctly. Logical volumes have been formatted to
2 GB of swap (swap Linux, / dev/sda5)
20 GB ext3 (Linux root ' / ' on/dev/sda6)
21 GB unformatted (Linux "/ home" on/dev/sda6)during the installation of Linux. Linux and Vista up and running with their scores. If I look at the hard drive with Linux' partitioning tool, I see three main partitions + range, as expected. The scope contains the Linux partitions + empty disk space.
HOWEVER:
========If I look at the hard drive with the Vista disk management tool now, I get the following image:
invisible 1.46 GB, primary
C:, ~ 100 GB NTFS, primary, active, System
E:, ~ 98 GB NTFS, primary, data
2 GB PRIMARY, no format info displayed
20 GB PRIMARY, no format info displayed
21 GB PRIMARY, no format info displayed
Empty remaining 54 GB spaceThis means:
VISTA DISK MANAGMENT ME PRESENT 6 PRIMARY PARTITIONS WITHOUT ANY COMPLAIN
Although a hard drive on the PC architecture usually only supports maximum 4 primary partitions.Issues related to the:
Have you ever seen a similar behavior?
Is this a bug of presentation in the Vista disk management tool?
Or is it a bug in formatting under Linux?
Is there a solution for this problem?
At present, the two BONES work very well. However, the disk will be get permanently damaged as soon as I try to create more partitions in the empty space left?
Sincere greetings and thanks for your comments.
Girard
> Have you ever see similar behavior?
NO.> Is this a bug of presentation in the Vista disk management tool?
I doubt that it is a bug, I think you forgot something. As far as I know you can create 4 partitions on the HARD drive and this is the reason why you have the ability to create an extended partition.
An extended partition can be divided into several logical drives. That is why it s wise to create a primary partition for Windows OS for example and an extended partition, which can decompose the in logical drives (partitions) different.
However, I put t see a problem if everything works properly

Satellite Pro U400 - 12 p: Vista 64 bit audio driver has no - no microphone
I have the Satellite Pro U400 - 12 p.
I installed the Vista 64 bit, because I upgraded the ram to 4 GB.
Now, Conexant driver does not work.
Just as it should, even tried downloaded the 32-bit Version.
None.It shows that it can be upgraded, then 'install' file, and at the end, it shows "Failure."
The cause of it, it shows that I have no audio output installed. = speakrs do not work and the MIC of course.Only when I remove the driver in Device Manager and restart the machine, it becomes thin.
So, what's the problem?
* The problem is the Microphone does not work! How can I make it work? *Please, help me, I am a student, and it takes a lot for studies.

Satellite Pro A100: Why can not connect Internet with the net card
I can't connet Internet whith this net card, but I always connect it with a wireless network card
Hello
I put t know why you can not connect to the internet, but we need to study a little.
Have you checked if the network card has been properly installed? The network adapter appears in Device Manager correctly? What do you use to connect to the internet; Modem or router WLAN?
Have you checked the TCP/IP protocol if the IP address setting has been configured to automatically get?Check if there is an active firewall
As you can see, there are a lot of restrictions and everything must be checked!

Satellite Pro U400 - network connection lost after suspend
I have a Toshiba Dynadock. My network is connect directly in dynadock.
When suspend my Satellite Pro U400 and after reboot to continue working I lost my network connection. Then I shut down my computer and disconnect/connect Dynadock I can continue working.
What is the problem?
Dynadock software version is 2.0Hello
I see that you have switched from Vista to XP.
First of all I recommend you update the BIOS.
As I m not wrong on the European driver Toshiba page, you should find a newer version of the BIOS.You will need to upgrade Win XP to the last State.
The XP must be up-to-date and all service packs, hotfixes and patches MS must be installed in your laptop.Access the Device Manager, and then score in each USB hub root, you must disable the option called allow the computer to turn off this device to save power
You can find this option in the properties-> tab power management -
Satellite Pro U400-11V - Sharp noise when starting with connected screen
Hello
We received 5 x computers laptops Satellite Pro U400-11V, are excellent, with one exception:
When you start (it happens on all of them) with a screen VGA monitor plugged in, a high beep is played from what looks like the speaker system. It occurs just before the first splash screen windows.
Once the windows login screen is displayed a monitor can be connected to any problem & works very well.
What can I check? I have had a look but do not find all the tracks so far, where this post.
Thank you
-APerhaps you are meaning that the beep POST (Power on self test)?
The laptop still sounds if the POST has been successfully passed.
Parts of the motherboard will be verified during POST, and if everything is ok, a beep is displayed.
If something would be a mistake, the laptop will not start and different beeps would appear.
