• "Unknown device" USB Barcode scanner, problem with the USB controller driver?

  I need assistance with our Barcode Scanners that doesn't work on our newly purchased computers at HP with Windows7 Pro x 64 operating systems.

  The brand and model of the bar code scanner is:

  Datalogic Heron D130 USB.

  When you connect the scanner to a USB port, Windows will try to install this as a HID, but it takes an unusually long time, about 7-8 seconds, to boot the device and install the drivers and appears as an unknown device in windows "devices and printers" and the hand scanner does not work.

  Sometimes when you move the USB back can I sometimes the scanner at hand to be recognized as an HID device or a Datalogic barcode scanner,

  It works fine until you restart the computer.

  After restart the computer cannot detect the scanner Barcode correctly without re - appears as unknown device.

  I suspect that there is a compatibility problem between barcode scanner and card USB controller on the computers.

  I tried to update all the drivers available on the website www.hp.com and same www.Intel.com (chipset drivers) but nothing has helped to solve this problem

  Tried newly bought barcode scanners and "used" barcode scanners earlier who works on other computers, but the problem remains.

  I found a workaround by connection of bar codes in a USB hub, and then plug the USB hub to the computer.  And leave the USB - hub to take care of the communication with the Barcode Scanner.

  in this case, it takes about 2 seconds for the code scanner barcode to mount correctly in windows under the heading "devices and printers" and then works perfectly, even after a reboot.

  I googled after a response after my problem, but it seems I'm the only one who experience this issue. ?!

  Bought more than 40 computers that I have this problem.

  These were bought at different times with two different for suppliers

  Computer model are the following

  The problem is not power - related.

  We use passive USB hubs that solves the problemon these computers.

  (it also works with the docks, or if you EliteDisplay E241 HP as we thers a usb hub 2 ports inbulit in monitor that works.)

  The problem lies in the incompatibility between the Intel USB controller and the hand scanner, can be connected to USB 3.0

  When you let another usb-controller support in handshakeing (such as a usb hub), it works.

  Datalogic or Intel would like to acknowledge this error.

  Because none of the big companies want to acknowledge the problem or repair, personally chose to switch to an AMD platform / CPU instead of the Intel and now it works fine!

  We get more performance for your money when AMD is usually less expensive to purchase.

  And because of the poor of Datalogic press where they don't even answer e-mail (their only channel for support)

  I chose to stop using their products. I'm going to use another provider / brand of barcodescanners.

• MX922 software for scanner problem

  I love this printer.  Don't like the software that comes with it.  One of the things I do more often with the part of the printer scanner is to scan both sides of a cheque for electronic filing in my Bank.  The first thing I found was that my bank requires the cheque images in jpeg format.  I like to analyze controls in black & white to reduce the 'noise' in the picture.  Unfortunately, the Canon scanner software will not allow scanning in black & white jpeg, only PDF format.  Why?  It's one of the things that is most basic to do with a scanner, but your software won't allow it.   Seems pretty strange to me.  I found also not an option to set the DPI value for my scans.  And it will allow me to identify a destination for the image folder.  I am looking for a replacement software solution that will provide the options that I need, rather than assuming that I'm too stupid to know what I want.  Does anyone found a better software solution for the scanner?

  You can scan as a black and white JPEG files, set the DPI and choose Save the location of the item using the driver of the scanner ScanGear, accessible via the IJ Scan Utility program provided with the printer. To do this, please follow these steps:

  1. open the utility of scanning IJ.

  2. in the lower right corner of the window, please click on the SETTINGS button.  This will open the window of parameters (Auto Scan).

  3. on the left side of the window, please click SCANGEAR.  This will display the settings (ScanGear) pane in the right part of the window.

  4 locate the Data Format field in the section to save the settings in the right pane of the window, then select the JPEG/EXIF.  Then please click the SETTINGS... button next to the data field Format, then select the JPEG/EXIF option the "Format for item detected as a Document in Auto Scan: ' and ' Format for item detected as Photo in Auto Scan:"fields, then click on the OK button.   7 locate the window, Application settings, and then click the option DO NOT LAUNCH ANY APPLICATION.

  8. click on OK to close the window of parameters (ScanGear).  You will be taken back to the main window of the utility of digitization of IJ.

  9. click the button of SCANGEAR.  The ScanGear window will launch.

  10. click on the ADVANCED MODE tab in the top right of the screen.

  11 locate the input parameters section, and then click the drop-down list next to the field area select the Source and select the option of MILLING table.

  12. in the area of the color Mode, click the drop-down menu to select the BLACK AND WHITE option.

  OK my fault, I do not download driver scan canon toolbox and it have problem with res., but the pilot works fine but for the Toolbox, it is a way how to use it. To order - Hide modes that this minitor cannot display in display properties - Advanced - monitor (as it is described here http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaPad-S-series-Netbooks/Changing-resolution/td-p/160028), it is possible to increase the resolution and then then the Toolbox works.

• iPad Air folded with scanner problems

  Hello world. I hope someone can give me some guidance. I bought my wife an iPad Air a bit backward and our 2-year-old got a hold of it and cracked the screen. We paid for a replacement of the screen off warranty and bought a high quality screen protector (the iPad is always kept in a cover enough course).

  A few months later (I don't know exactly what happened, but I suspect that 2 - year - old still) we found the cracked protective screen (the replacement screen is fine) and aluminum on the back of the iPad was ever bent on one side/corner. The screen is slightly detached from the envelope back along this edge, and the screen/digitizer is less reactive then normal. A small strip in the middle of the screen does not respond to touch properly.

  It is even useful to repair at this point (or aluminum rear housing can even be repaired?) Or should I just bite the bullet and get a new iPad (and of course, keep the 2 years away.

  It is not repairable, but you can get a replacement under warranty out of Apple for less than buying a new iPad, if you don't want to spring for a replacement again full price.

  Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you do a lot of scanning with your HP Officejet 8610 and Readiris Pro 14 scanning program. You would like to scan several pages using your ADF Document (ADF), however the ReadIris software does not give you the opportunity to do.

  Because that a 3rd party software, you must contact their support because we do not have any control over the scan options they convey in their programs: ReadIris Pro Support Page

  That being said you do not have the ability to scan multiple pages using the ADF with the HP software already on your computer. Maybe you can scan items in your computer, and then add them to your ReadIris program?

  My HP all-in-one is model 6700, wireless internet.  Microsoft Community Forum has a growing list of people with Windows 10/HP Scanner problems.   I, too, have spent hours and hours trying the methods suggested on the Windows site and the HP site.  Nothing helps.  Work of the printer, fax working but scanner can not find my HP laptop and laptop does not detect the scanner.  Absolute frustration.  Do something people, please!

  Please uninstall and reinstall the FULL features software follow these steps:
  
  1 uninstall the software from your computer
  2. download and save the software COMPLETE features (do not install online)

  The following resources will help you:

  3. install the FULL feature software "saved".
  
  Once you have downloaded and installed the software, FULL of features, you will be able to print and scan.

I followed the instructions above to fix the error 1706.  However, need me only a few steps and then I am forced to cancel when it asks me to insert my Windows XP CD because the CD that came with my computer is Service Pack 2, and I'm now running Service Pack 3, I have an update installation. I don't have a CD of Service Pack 3.  What can I do in order to carry out the correction of scanner problem?

  This link that you referenced has been marked as 'response' by a moderator of the Forum after the idle thread for 6 days.  That's the way things work here - especially if the answer to a technical support engineer and has a link to a Microsoft KB article (it actually didn't work for a Forum Moderator Mark the useless reply as 'response').  I seriously doubt that sfc/scannow will help you and it's not how other people having this problem solve their problems (looking at Google results).

  I would not like to uninstall SP3 just for this problem so that you can maybe get sfc/scannow to work (which is not the problem).  You don't describe symptoms suggestive of a need to run sfc/scannow and support engineers technical I do not even know how it works even in the first place.

  We won't uninstall SP3 for sfc/scannow to work with an SP2 installation CD - this is a ridiculous idea.

  HP Scanner problem.  Deleted and all printers HP software.  Try to reinstall the software from the original CD. Put in CD and nothing happens.  Could this be a problem with setup.exe?  How can I check to see if I have setup.exe & how can I reinstall safely setup.exe.  The instructions to install the printer software are to insert the CD and follow the signs, but if nothing happens, directions her if nothing happens, go into MY COMPUTER double click on the CD with the HP Logo and double-click setup.exe.  I can't find any of these situations...  This is why I suspect setup.exe.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you...
