Second installation of SATA drive problem

I have a BIOS A07 Dimension 9150 w / XP SP2.

I added a Samsung Spinpoint 500gig drive.  The bios recognizes it; XP seems to recognize it as a second drive, it will do a format but then if I try to use it as a single disk and install XP it is not recognized.

Firstly a format low leverage?

Cause problems due to the fast data rates 3gbs?

  • Suspended at the end of the installation of Vista (pre SP1) - Sata drive problem - how do we install?

Hi, my Dell Studio Hybrid desktop is hang on installation (new installation on a formatted hard drive) from Vista to the installation step ends.  After much research it seems that it is a matter of pre Vista SP1 associated with SATA drive/drivers.  Installation crashes because the computer is looking for a driver on the CD-ROM that is not there.  Anyway I don't see a driver relavent in the cross-section of the hybrid (another computer have drivers under the SATA drives) and if I did I don't know when to add it (load the section of the driver during the installation process?).  Any help on this topic and how to proceed with the installation of vista would be much appreciated since I just lost my weekend to this.

    Hello

You are right that there is no drivers sata on your computer because you don't have that one hard drive go in the bios as described here .and put AHCI to IDE

    Integrated Peripherals

Allows you to enable or disable these integrated devices: HD Audio, Onboard LAN connector, Onboard LAN Boot ROMand side logo. Serial ATA Configuration can be set in IDE or AHCI mode.

then install your version of windows you should have no problem now.

  • Lenovo y530 Windows 7 installation cd/dvd driver problem

    Hello everyone!

I'm a happy user of Lenovo y530 bought with MS Windows Vista Home Premium. I have easy access to your MSDN AA software. It allows me to download and install Windows 7 Professional for example. I downloaded the image, tested on virtual machine and it works fine. So I decided to install it directly on my hard drive for portable computers. I burned a dvd with a possible minimum speed and here I had a problem. It starts very well, I choose the language and locale, but after she, I have information that there is a missing cd/dvd driver. Installer wants to give me a file location.

I don't know what driver is needed. I downloaded files related to my Optirac drive but they are all exe and it does not accept the installation program. Could someone help me?

I searched many forums, but there is no ansfer of satisfaing I can't use USB key to install it.

I also tried another DVD to burn, another Windows build - and the result was the same.

Edit: have you tried with another order of start (CD 1) - with the same results

The response was quite strange for me. I tried a DVD + R instead of DVD - R disc and it works

  • Satellite S3000 - X 11 - installation of display driver problem

    Hello

I am trying to install the display driver for my laptop and have downloaded the zip file "display-20080414134834' on the Toshiba site.» This file contains an update of the BIOS and the display driver.

Unfortunately, when you try to install the update of the BIOS I tells me I need to insert a floppy disk, which, unfortunately, is impossible because this model of laptop doesn't have a floppy drive! It only has a DVD player and not a rewritable to it. Second, try to install the display (failed with BIOS) update, I am told to insert the disc containing Setup.exe. I don't know if this is the aforementioned floppy or another CD may be supplied with the computer. If it however came with the computer, it is not in my possession now (it is a laptop second hand that did not come with any driver software).

My question is how should I install this update and driver without a floppy drive or a cd containing setup.exe? Is there a way to get around this? The file I downloaded was available only on the Toshiba site, so it doesn't seem to be a provision which does not either one of the things I'm missing.

If anyone can help I would be very grateful because this prevents me to play some computer games!
Meanwhile the generic driver is great for surfing the internet, etc.

Also, my operating system is Windows XP Professional.
    Processor: Celeron 1.1 GHZ
    RAM: 256 MB

    Help, please!

    Thank you.

  • Desktop HP Pavilion p6130y PC, installation of Windows 7 on the new SATA hard drive problem

First of all, I can't find the model p6130y number on the HP Support.  The original hard drive came out and it was replaced with a Seagate SATA 850 GB drive, buy Windows 7 on DVD and I tried to install. Obtained through formatting the drive. Their only option now is to "Load a driver."  He says that I need to locate the HD driver on the media and press OK.  I can't find such an on installation disk so will try the find the right HD drivers for this model computer download on a USB key. Any ideas?

    Hello:

Here is the link for the driver sata for your model:

Just download it and do not run it.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=PV-77141-1&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en&OS=4063&product=3980095&sw_lang=

The motherboard in your model has major problems with the drives out and that the results in the hard drive and DVD drive from the BIOS endangered.

It could happen to your model, it's why W7 cannot find the hard drive.

You will need to download and install this free program.

    http://7-zip.org/

After installing 7 - Zip, right-click on the Sata driver you downloaded and select 7 - zip option in the list.

Select extract to: I leave extract the name of the file and extract the exe file in a folder of driver.

Once you have the file, open it and copy the contents of the folder on a drive portable usb flash without the src folder.

With the flash player and the installation of W7 media connected to the computer, boot from the installation of W7 media.

After selecting the install now option, select the training - Advanced menu, Options and select the option load a driver.

You should now see the storage driver files listed.

If you check the box, it only includes the compatible driver.

Follow the prompts and hopefully, W7 should install correctly.

  • Problems after installing the second SATA drive in Windows 7

I just install a second SATA hard drive in Windows 7. Currently, I use only a processor AMD Athlon X 2 4800 with 3 GB of RAM, Windows 7 64 - bit, installed on a 400 GB Samsung SATA drive and have two (a pioneer and a Liteon) DVD burners.

System worked fine until I put in the new drive. Previously, I had hung as such discs: SATA1 was the existing 400Go drive, SATA2 and 3 were two DVD burners (don't ask me why, I have 2, will remove one of them, if that's the problem).

Installed the new HARD in the SATA4 drive. Booted up, saw the new drive in the BIOS, but Windows does not see it until I went to disk management, a drive letter assigned and formatted etc. Also, I swapped the drive letters so I had all of the HARD drive (I have my 400 GB split into two readers via the partition) and C: D: E: F: and G:, DVD players.

Started, began to transfer data from D: to the new E:, and Windows crashes. No message error, everything freezes. Need to reset, and then allow Windows to check for errors etc. Return to Windows, same case again. I swapped the SATA cables so that SATA1 and 2 are the HARD drives and SATA3 and 4 are DVD players. Reboot, same case.

What I am doing wrong? Or what should I do? I don't even have to start the transfer of data I just let WIndows running for 2 minutes and it automatically hangs again.

If someone could help me as soon as POSSIBLE please, it would be fantastic. Thank you!

I've been in contact with the provider, and Yes, that will take it back for Exchange. They gave me some ideas to try first, I'm going to do tonight; They asked me to check if the HARD disk is running on series complete ATA (SATA) mode and to enable the DMA if he asks me to. Otherwise, they said, try the fail-safe mode. Don't know if any of them are currently enabled etc but will find tonight.

All else fails, I take that back! Simply means a 3 hours trip to Melbourne to make...

Thanks again guys for your help.

  • Satellite Pro P200 - 17 c: Win XP won't load - installation of the SATA driver

    Hello

I have a satellite pro p200 - 17 c I've had good years, allways worked without any problem.

Last week when I booted the laptop, windows won't load and I find myself safe mode selection screen. No options whatsoever me to windows loading, I tried F8 and still nothing.

I tried the restore cd that reimagee the drive but I get the same thing, I tried a new hard drive, once again the same.

But if I try to load windows from an OEM to install that software does not because it is a sata drive and there is no floppy drive. I have an external floppy drive I use, but it is not known now.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Hello

Go to BIOS and set it to default settings.

In this case the SATA mode must be on AHCI. In this case the SATA drivers are required to install the Windows operating system. But as much as I know that Windows 7 already contains the SATA drivers if usually you don t had to add SATA drivers while OS installation the installation program.

However, here is a nice HowTo document that helps you add SATA drivers for Win XP installation disc.

  • Installation of a dual boot for XP on a Vista - XP installation computer forget the SATA drive after restart required #1

    Hello

I'm trying to set up a dual-boot XPpro on my Vista machine.  I found the instructions detailed at various locations.  I prepared a score of 30G on my SATA drive and booted from my XPpro and XPpro (SP2) retail drives.  The score is quite small because I have only use for some applications.

I have the following problem and I wonder if anyone can help.  The disk and partition is by my SP2 disc, but it's ok that BONE is not used on any other machine.

I can choose the new partition as the location for the new installation of XP.

Installation gets to the point where the first reboot is required, then at startup, I'm stuck on the option 'press any key to boot from the CD-ROM.  I assume that the reader is not detected.  If I try to start from scratch, I get the warning that the new partition already has an operating system on it, but I can reformat and move forward, then arrive at the startup problem re.

There is no XP drivers for my Board, but I can not install them because they are on CD and the only option to load the specific drivers in the first part of install required has a diskette is in the drive, and of course I don't have a floppy drive.

I then use the Startup Repair in Vista I can't move to the stage where XP is installed in fact correctly.

    Any help very welcome!

  • Installation of the driver software window opens on the second monitor in a dual monitor extended installation of the monitor

The "Software Installation" window will open on the second monitor in a dual monitor extended installation of the monitor

I have a dual display setup. A 225WS 1680 x 1050 monitor LG is connected via a VGA cable and a VGA - DVI converter to a DVI port on a Radeon 6850 video card. The second screen is a Samsung HDTV set at 1920 x 1080 and connected via HDMI on the same video card. I have set up the screen LCD as main monitor and the Samsung HDTV as the extended display. HDTV is most of the time, but I use it at least once a day. This isn't a driver problem, because it happened also when I had an old Nvidia video card and it is fixed by a new installation of windows and setting up of screens from a square.

The installer works great almost all the time except when I try to use some programs or Windows functions (7). When I try to start the MozBackup application or I pop in a new usb device and click on the notification bubble, both these windows (MozBackup and the "Driver software Installation" window) open in the center of the HDTV as opposed to the LCD (which is defined as primary). The problem is that the views are ~ 3 meters out and HDTV is mostly off.

I sent a bug report to the developer of MozBackup because this part is perhaps a problem with its software or what old Windows functions and hooks it uses, but the window "Installing the driver software" (or who knows what other program Windows Basic) has exactly the same problem and is part of Windows.

What can I do about it? I DIDN'T put the displays in any mode "clone" to have office in mirror between them. Is - this fixable somehow? I guess that is not a problem with the video card drivers because I used two different video cards with either the manufacturer or windows update drivers and the problem is the same.

I'm talking about a window similar to this one

    http://jaunty-electronics.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Freedom_FRDM-KL25Z_driver_install.PNG

    Try changing the backup.ini

    you find it in

    .. \Program files (x86)\MozBackup\backup.ini

Open the file backup.ini with editor

Check if you have the rights to save the changed files in this directory. You may need to change the Directory rights

Change the value of "1": monitor

    wyzodir =

; Monitor: the monitor number where MozBackup window will appear

    monitor =1

'2' or whatever the value of your primary monitor is:

    wyzodir =

; Monitor: the monitor number where MozBackup window will appear

    monitor =2

System main screen could be identified as '1 '. If you have changed the monitors, it can be used internally '2 '.

  • E521 with advanced format ST500DM002 Player - do I need a SATA driver separated during the installation of Windows 7?

    Hello

I have an E521 with 2 GB of Ram and X 2 processor. I want to install Windows 7 on a record nine of ST500DM002 (= native 4K advanced format). It will work without hassle, or will I have to install a SATA driver during installation? If Yes, which? I can't find the necessary information for the main card.

    Thank you, Andre

    Hi Andre,

As you would expect, you will need the Windows 7 drivers RAID so that the installer of Windows recognize the drive. Our buddy rdunnill forum explains how to do this HERE. He included a link to NVIDIA support site where you can download the driver.

  • [Solved] HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT20L periph. CdRom SATA has a driver problem. The driver faces a problem of Plug-and-Play device.

Recently, I noticed that my CD/DVD stopped working. He turns, but nothing happens; the disc is not read.
I use Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit on an HP Touchsmart tx2z.

I ran the Microsoft FixIt program through http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982116 and it has identified the following problem: 'HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT20L periph. CdRom SATA has a driver problem. The driver faces a problem of Plug-and-Play device. »

However, FixIt said that he was unable to solve the problem and discs are still read.

I manually uninstalled the driver in Device Manager and then scanned for the hardware changes. The driver was reinstalled, but with the same problems as before.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

Also, try following the steps for Windows Vista, which should also work in Windows 7, in the MS KB article:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/982116

These measures, to remove the UpperFilters and LowerFilters, values if they exist, in the registry key named can help.

Create a System Restore Point beforehand and restart the computer later.
