  I recently tried to install SP2 to Vista, but it failed. I tried all the resolutions posted, but it is not always correct it.   Before that, my laptop Toshiba L300 (about a year) worked very well. I think there a virus as a "window of 11 news" kept popping up in Internet Explorer.  I ran the Windows scan and it found nothing.  I tried to run a software check Norton which is supposed to run in safe mode and that's when it happened.  I have perhaps inadvertently done something wrong; I don't know what.  Is this enough information for someone to help me to solve this problem, or do I need to take it to someone more clever am I?

  I'm too confused.

  I have XP and 7 on each of my partitions on a hard drive (I have partitioned my hard drive, put xp on one partition, and then through XP, I put windows 7 on another partition)

  I don't mind having all reinstall again and get rid once for all from XP to windows7 on its own, but is there a way where I can deal with this problem instead of the hassle of reinstall?
