System of Satellite A100 restart when I eject a CD CD-driver

Hello

I have a problem with my Toshiba Satellite A100, when I eject a CD CD-driver, computer restart.
Could someone help me, please?

Best regards, Robert

Which is really strange, I know that the laptop could happen again if an error has been detected.
So in my opinion that the internal CD/DVD drive could cause this strange restarts automatically.

It would be very interesting to know if the same thing will happen with a new CD/DVD drive. I think you do not have the opportunity to test this and therefore, it would be advisable to contact the service provider authorized in your country for these audits.

But wait; have you tried to update the operating system and boot from the restore CD?
Try to reinstall the OS from the original Toshiba Recovery CD and check if the same will happen in fresh, new OS.

  • Satellite A100 restarts when HDD WD connected?

Hi, I searched this issue in this forum, but I don't find it so here you go.

I recently bought a WD portable hard drive and when I plugged, he enrolled in the icon section, then it would go to a blue screen and do a reboot even time I had connected hard drive. He wouldn't even give me the option/Assistant to install the program.

My laptop is S100 998. I took it to where I bought and received a refund. They have had problems with it on his computer to test as well. I tried another unit in the store and he did exactly the same thing. Finally, I tried another brand that worked well, but the whole point of getting this portable hard drive was because of his rep.

Do you think it's my phone who is at fault with the type of hard drive, or they are not as good as they say.

    See you soon

Boyfriend sorry but if people in the store say that hard drives are not so good, why do you now your laptop is not OK?
Either incidentally, S100 998 is unknown to me. Maybe you have Satellite A100 and not S100.

  • Re: Reinstalling operating system on Satellite A100 without deleting the other existing partition

    Hi all

I have a Satellite A100-912 and have not reinstalled the operating system (Windows XP) for several years, but now I think that my laptop works well below par. I have my product recovery CD (disk recovery) and it will use for the re-installation.

I have three partitions on the HARD disk (c, d and e, respectively).

I was wandering if it would be possible to reinstall (get as long as the factory) my operating system on the c partition without erasing the data (for example my files) on partitions d and e.

I did this on a Toshiba Satellite L10 using suggestions in this forum, but I don't know how to do it on my own. Is the user interface for the recovery/re-resettlement is not the same thing, so I'm afraid to lose my data if I proceed with the re-install without knowing what to do.

Could you please say on how to make the re-installation of operating system only on the c partition without deleting (data on) other existing partitions.

    Thank you!

    > I was wandering if it would be possible to reinstall (get as long as the factory) my operating system on the c partition without erasing the data (for example my files) on partitions d and e.

No, this is not possible. The recovery disk would format the whole HARD drive and therefore the partitions created on the HARD drive would be so removed.
I recommend you to create a backup of the files before starting the recovery procedure.

  • Satellite A300 - restarts when I plug it into a power outlet

Hi guys this seems to be the place to ask this question,
    My laptop is Satellite A300

When I connect the adapter it restarts all of a sudden, if I stay on the battery, it is fine if I am running Windows and plug power will be locked up and restart. It starts so that plugged either, unless it is in safe mode. With the power of the battery (with power adapter) machine works without any problem.

The problem (reboot) occurs when I connect to the AC adapter. I have change the power supply and tested. Remove the battery and tested. In addition, reformat and reinstall Vista and BIOS update.

But the problem is still there, please can someone help me?

    Thank you!

    Hi icebunny,.

Do you use an original Toshiba AC/DC adapter or a 3rd party one? This would explain why the computer restarts. Probably he doesn't use the correct specifications for voltage or intensity thus restarting the laptop.
Did you check the characteristics of the AC/DC adapter? The lower side of your laptop, you can check which adapter AC/DC (e.g. 19V 4, 3 a) is necessary.

Can you charge the battery when the laptop is turned off?

At the moment I think that it s mainboard malfunction and that would mean that he must replace :(

  • Listening/constant system accident - Satellite A100-662

    Hey guys,.
My Satellite A100-662 was angry a lot lately. I'm starting to worry because it is a question related to the processor happens routinely in playing games.
    I have a Centrino Duo 1.6 GHz, 1024RAM, videocard ATI X 1400.

What is happening is that while I play the games, my screen folds. It is almost entirely covered by blue and yellow lines as those of the image (which I put in the red box):
    http://I11.Photobucket.com/albums/A1...agebitmap2.jpg
This only lasts a few seconds then the computer crashes.

It is not a problem of display driver: I tried to see the drivers of Toshiba and Omega.
I have the latest BIOS drivers.
I don't understand what the problem is: I reinstalled windows 2 days ago and the problem persists.
It happens every time I use a lot of RAM or CPU in games in particular. The laptop gets very hot. Today, My Notebook Hardware Control indicates a temperature of 75 ° CPU + Celsius.

For any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
My guarantee is not yet so I'll probably take my PC in the store where I bought it, I want to just give them as much information as possible so they do repairs right.
    Thank you

    Arthur

Looks like the graphics chip has a problem.
I doubt that the PC would crash if the LCD display has a fault.

Maybe there is accumulation of dust in the radiator and its overheating?

I would like to send the laptop to an authorized warranty repair center.

  • Satellite A100 - 02 M - cannot find the correct SATA driver

    Hello

I have an old laptop Toshiba Satellite running Vista Home Edition.
I would like to downgrade this machine to work with the XP operating system.

I have a real, but rather old, CD Windows XP Pro SP1. I also have XP Sp2 and SP3 downloads.
I searched the web and understand that I need to download the final medium of Storage Manager XP9 Intel (Matrix)

    Package from your webpage.at http://pc-support.toshiba-europe.com/drivers/.
I have visited this Web page and downloaded the XP drivers for the laptop.

However, I am unable to find (or determine) the subfolder Chipset appropriate to the F6flpy directory, I have
understanding would allow me to add a storage from a floppy driver.
To be honest, I'm not sure how to proceed here!

    Details of the laptop: Satellite A100 - 02 M
    Model No. : PSAANE-04U03EEN
    Serial No.: 64Q 372 464

Before I try to run the upgrade, I wanted to make sure that if everything goes wrong, I could go back to Vista.
Therefore, before you start, I tried to run the program of re - install. I pressed F8 during startup, as
educated and after entering username and password have reached the screen offering me options. I tried the "Restore to an earlier Date" option and that works well. However, when I try the "reinstall the OS", nothing happens.

I checked the HD that is partitioned with the C partition and also the hidden partition, size 1.5 G labeled 'Simple Basic', 'in good condition (EISA Configuration)'; the other partition is labeled NTFS. As far as I can remember, when I asked John Lewis, when I bought the PC, they said that there is no backup discs.

    You have any suggestions.

Thank you very much in advance for any help.

  • Satellite A100-216: can I move Windows.old for drive external HARD

    Hello

I got my satellite A100-216 almost 12 months, (and I'm pleassed with it, incidentally), and bought with XP, but she has the option (taken) to get the upgrade to Vista Home Premium.

I have finally plucked courage to Vista and have a question.

In the book, it says that the hard drive will be completely erased, and all must be safeguarded. OK - did this.
It lights up during loading to say that only a full upgrade is possible and that the old windows will be stored in a folder called "Windows.old" even if the operating system will be unusable.
There seemed no option but to agree with what is happening and lo and here is the record + Windows.old + is here, and it's * Gb * 6 in size!

After saving everything, can I really keep this large amount of things on my HARD drive. I can move it on my external hard drive?

The capacity of the HARD drive, (nominally 100 GB) but showing 93Gb shows 24,6 now used by Vista without other programs or drivers installed.

If I remove this 6 GB, I'll have a more reasonable 75 GB to play with.

The other option would have been to start on an OEM XP disk, opt for delete and re-create a primary partition and load Vista from there after the format. Would it be: r: work and B: use less space.

If the 6 GB file is all that it would save, I'll just save it on my external HARD drive.

    Thanks :)

    Hi Dave,.

The Windows.old folder is a backup of your files/folders/settings of your XP system etc.

It is automatically created during the process of update for Vista and is designed as a quick way to return to the earlier version of the operating system if you need to do. \obviously its value will decrease over time, once you start using Vista, because different files will become obsolete with the use.

The normal procedure is to remove these backup files "shadow", once you are happy that Vista is not working properly and there is an option to do it for you in the utiliy Vista disk cleanup.

  • Satellite A100 - need Vista 64bits Mass Storage Controller & TOS1901 driver

I have a notebook "Toshiba Satellite A100-049" who has the ability to support 4 GB memory (but which came with 2 GB) and I'm unable to find some drivers for it on the site Web of Tosiba. I put a second hard drive in the laptop (although far from my normal 32 bit Vista installation) and test Windows 7 64 bit. I currently have 2 GB of memory. I have most of the drivers, but need:

    * Mass Storage Controller
    * Unknown Device - TOS1901
    * According to the "Action Center", I also need to install "Intel Management Engine Interface". I suspect this is related to the mass storage controller.

I searched the Intel site but without knowing which chipset etc... my laptop uses, it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.

When I installed Vista 32 bit, I had to install the package of value-added and supervisor password utility.
The problem is while I managed to find a value-added Package 64-bit I can't find a Supervisor Password Utility 64-bit.

I understand "Unknown Device - TOS1901" supervisor password average Utility.

Where can I find drivers for 64-bit for this and also the mass storage controller?
Even if they are for another model (but fine installation).

    Thank you

PS - If I can't find the drivers I'll send a letter of complaint from Toshiba to sell a laptop capable of 4 GB of memory but absolutely no way to actually do this. Response from Toshiba a while ago (when I asked) had to settle for 3 GB on 32-bit Windows. It is not really satisfactory to lose 25% of your memory.
That was before I had installed 64-Bit Windows.

    Hi Brad

As you can see here, nobody can offer the correct answer. Problem is that this model of laptop is not supported for Vista 64-bit and you will be unable to find the Toshiba drivers, tools and utilities that are designed or tested with your model of laptop.

Maybe you can try to install the other laptop satellite model tools, but there is no guarantee that it will work properly.
    Sorry :(

Maybe you should use 32-bit Vista support

  • Satellite A100 PSAA2E Setup hangs after connecting new HARD drive

    Hello

I have a problem with TOSHIBA Satellite A100 PSAA2E (3 year old laptop)
I bought the new SAMSUNG SPINPOINT 250 GB SATA (model HM250JI) hard drive.

After connection, the computer hangs on the first screen. I can't access the BIOS Setup (press F2)
I can't boot the CD of form (I can't select same drive to start by pressing F12)

    It just hangs.

When the HARD drive is unplugged I can access the configuration of the BIOS or boot from CD. When the original hard drive (FUJITSU 40BG) is connected, everything is ok.

I updated the BIOS to version 1.5 to the a more recent 2.6, but it did not help.

HARD drive runs under windows xp, when connected by USB port. It is formatted with NTFS: a primary partition(15GB), a stretch with two logical partitions (20BG, GB 215).

You have no idea where could be the problem?
Should I format hard drive in a different way?

    Hello

Check if your new HARD drive has been fitted with a small jumper that controls the master/slave/c-salt settings.

A friend of mine bought a new HARD drive and BIOS didn't recognize because the rider has been set to the wrong position.

    Good bye

  • Problem with Satellite Z830 restart when you wake up

Hi all, I have an occasional problem where when I wake up my Z830, the screen will become black, restart the computer, and I get the screen "Windows did not shut down correctly.

It happens from time to time, but I think with the following sequence of events:
1 put the computer to sleep by closing the lid
    2. pull out the computer by opening the cover

Once I restart using the 'start Windows normally' option, all right.

Does anyone else know this? I love this phone, so not thinking that there are already problems!

    > Happens from time to time, but I believe that with the following sequence of events:
    > 1. Put the computer to sleep by closing the lid

Does this happen if access mode sleep otherwise? for example clicking on the Start button and choosing to sleep?
This happens with the hibernation mode too?

  • Satellite A300 restart when it is plugged power

    Hi all
I see some of these problems arise in the forums and I was wondering if anyone has a solid answer as to if this is fixable or is the laptop useless now.

    Satellite A300
No error log display software errors.
Error recovery reports an unexpected shutdown.
Recovered the system using that a disc of recovery on the 3rd test and the problem persists.

Although battery-operated system is functioning properly, but the battery life is simply not long enough that the laptop is my main computer.

The laptop is now outside its warranty period and if I can not understand that I might as well use it as a doorstop and buy something else.

Thanks in advance for your time

Your mobile phone is turned off, you remove the battery, connect the power adapter and switch it on. What happen next?

  • Satellite A100 does not recognize the new CD/DVD drive

I bought a new CD/DVD drive for my A-100 of Toshiba Satellite age of four year old went crazy and wouldn't work.

Unfortunately, I bought a DVD of Toshiba Portege A100 / reader Combo CD - RW that is not exactly what I had before the jump that it will still work.

Unfortunately, I'm surprised because it does not recognize the CD/DVD drive at all: /...
It seems to work, and the light blinks I think that it is not broken.

I just plugged it because that's the way I was told to do.
I need to download the drivers to operate?
It will work on my laptop, or is it a "most recent" CD player that will not work with my laptop?

    I'd appreciate any help. THX

The BIOS does not recognize this new CURIOUS because the player seems not to be fully compatible.
I think there bad master/slave/c-salt settings

As you know these settings can be changed on the external CD/DVD drive for desktop switching jumper. But it is not possible for computers portable CD/DVD players.

You can solve it only purchase a new compatible disc.

Usually the ASP in your country could help you buy this disc of these guys here
However, you can consult the user manual if there are a few details on the compatible sides.
My user manual provides this information.
