Tecra 8200 recognizes that a single memory module 128 MB

Hello

I have a Tecra 8200 p3 (850 I think) which currently has 2 x 128 MB of RAM.

Laptop computer records only 128 MB, so I think that one of the is may be defective.

I understand the maximum memory that will focus on the tecra 8200 is 512 MB, but is it possible in only one memory card, or must it be 2 x 256?

Thank you

Ian

Hello

You can use the modules of memory 2 x 256 MB SODIMM 144 pin PC133 or SODIMM 144 pin PC100

Best regards

    Hello

The fact is that if you use 2 different memory modules with different properties (of lower performance) so the laptop can run with lower performance. This means that the 256 memory module slows down you memory. The best way is to use the same modules having the same properties.

  • Tecra 8100 memory module questions

Does anyone know if the ram PC133 144 pin for the Tecra 8200 can be used in the Tecra 8100? I think that the Tecra 8100 usually takes PC100 144 pin but I'm having a hard time getting suppliers to tell me about the PC133 so (probably because it is half the price).

The Tecra 8100 uses these memory modules:
    PC100 256 MB (PA3051U-1NME)
    PC100 128 MB (PA3005U)

    Hello

Your information is correct. Tecra 8200 can manage with 512 MB RAM max. You can put more RAM, but I guess that it will not be recognized by the BIOS.

    Hello

I found this page on the Tecra 8200 memory modules:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=5841&ft=m&St=3

Looks like the Tecra 8200 would support Max 512 MB and you can use the 144-Pin PC133 SODIMM or memory SODIMM 144 pin PC100!

    I hope I could help a bit!

  • Question about the common modules on my Tecra 8200

I tried to install common modules on my tecra 8200 with windows xp family. When I restarted the pc, I had a checksum error. Time and date when changed. I got a lot of error messages. What can ido to fix this.

    Hello

Checksum error is caused by the RTC battery and if a BIOS checksum error message persists, this may indicate that the RTC (CMOS) battery must be replaced. The CMOS battery can be replaced by the authorized service partner.

It's certainly not caused by common modules. Other error messages have noticed?

I looked and there seems to be so much of.

Could someone tell me exactly what I want or give me a link to buy.
    I would be grateful rerally.

Memory for Toshiba Satellite Pro M40
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=26119&ft=m&St=3

It is said that you could use the DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200) 200-PIN SODIMM memory modules and you could upgrade the memory up to 2 GB of RAM

  • Slot 0 of the Tecra 8200 memory does not work

I installed 2 256 MB (toshiba original) cards, but only is recognized by the bios. When I change the slots (between the 2 cards) the problem is the same. Thus, it seems not to be a defect of memory. What can I do to get the two cards to work (be a motherboard failure or a special setting)?

I have two mothers in Tecra 8200 with the same problem, it is a defect of material on the card. Only thing to do is to change the motherboard (I got last year a new roundabout 75 US$ in internet auktion) or work on with only 256 MB.

  • Satellite P100-488 - what memory modules that I can use

    Hello

I want to upgrade my memory from 1 GB to 2 GB, but I can't find the correct specifications for the 1 GB memory current installed on my laptop.

Indeed, I could only confirm that the frequency is 533 Mhz, but my question is: what type of memory should I use? PC2-4200 or PC2-4300?
I am unable to find the information of the current type used on this laptop.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

This site of memory should help you:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=29973&ft=m&St=3

According to this website of the Satellite P100-488 supports DDR2 667 MHz (PC2-5300) memory modules and you can upgrade it to 4 GB max.

    I hope I could help!

  • Tecra S3 - cannot use the new RAM modules in the B slot

    Hi all

I just bought two RAM modules of 1 GB to replace my old 512 MB one. This, as far as I know, is the maximum allowed by my Toshiba Tecra S3 (PTS30E-01000QSP).

When I put a module in A slot, the machine works perfectly; If I place a second in location B, the computer tries to start but, at a time given, it freezes just (no activity of the HARD drive or changes on the screen) and the fun begins racing on as if some process crashes in the CPU to heat that make it up. At this point, I was always afraid that the heat can damage the computer and be turned off by pressing the on/off switch, so I can't tell if the problem is solved simply waiting.

I swapped the two modules on A slot and the two work well when they are the only one on the machine. Pretty funny if I place (as is the case now) has the old 512 MB in the location B as well as a single module of 1 GB in slot, it works!

My BIOS has been upgraded to the last, that I could find in these same pages (version 3.20 if I'm not mistaken), but it made no difference. If I enter the page of the BIOS when the two 1 GB modules are present, the BIOS recognizes that they are there. This behavior occurs when I try to start Windows or Linux.
Honestly, I'm puzzled. Someone has an idea what can happen and how I could place the two modules on my machine?

Thank you very much and sorry for the long post

    O.

    Hello

The modules you purchased exactly for your Tecra S3? Maybe that they are not compatible with the laptop and it hangs after a few minutes.

Normally, the Tecra S3 can handle up to 2 GB and that means 1 GB in each slot. For modules of Toshiba part number is PA3411U-1M1G.

In my opinion you should try it with other modules with original 512 MB module everything works so I guess your new RAM is the cause of this problem.

  • Tecra M9 - does not start after memory upgrade from 1 GB to 3 GB

I am trying to upgrade my M9 memory with little success. I bought a 2 GB module which is the same existing brand and spec to the 1 GB module, but the PC will not start no matter what options I try. So far I have tried:

    * Addition of 2 GB for the accommodation of extension from below (3 GB total)
    * Withdrawal of module 1 GB under the keyboard and its replacement by the 2 GB module

None of these options work. The PC gives no beeps or indications that there is a problem, the led lights on the way to the top, the drive led flashes and then it goes into a wait state. Nothing happens.

For the record, I bought initially upgraded memory that wasn't an exact match and I am now on my 3rd module suspecting a memory compatibility to be the issue. This current 2 GB module seems to fully match the 1 GB as well as being twice the size. It is:

    HYNIX 2GB 2Rx8 PC2 - 5300 s-555-12

I am running Windows XP SP3

The TECRA is a PTM91A Intel Duo T700 CPU 1.80 GHz

    Any help would be appreciated

    Hello

To me it sounds like the new memory module is not functional or not compatible with the laptop. Otherwise the cell would start without any problem.

If you bought the memory module in a store, you have to take it back and ask for a replacement.

I n t have experience with Hynix memory modules. For the upgrade of my laptop, I used Kingston memory and it worked without any problem
