Tecra S2 no sound

I forgot how to turn off the speakers, but I can't turn it back on.

(1) mic seem to work
(2) set the volume to maximum and all activated in the volume control.
(3) I tried Fn Esc
(4) no! in Device Manager, I see Realtek AC97 Audio
(5) there is no audio power function in the Bios?
(6) installed the new audio driver and the Bios of Toshiba.

All other tips are welcome.

Thank you

Hello

Did you use the headphones at the last time? You hear the sound from their?

I ask this question because in the headphone port, there is little switch that turn off the laptop speakers. If the switch is defective or don t work properly, it is possible that the laptop speakers cannot be activated again.

  • Tecra 8100 - no sound except in mic!

    I have a Tecra 8100 Windows XP.

I can't get sound on the speakers or the headphones emitted by the computer, such as beeps, CD, etc. But if I have to reactivate the microphone, I can hear through the headset, ensure that the microphone picks up (there are a few comments without microphones, proving that the speakers work physically). All volume controls are the maximum and reactivated. All devices are enabled and correctly selected in sound control panels.

Any help would be welcome! Is the sound card, or am I missing a driver? Could not find anything else on the web with similar symptoms. Thanks in advance.

    Hello

A good questions and I never heard of this topic which s...

I think the fist, you should start to update the audio driver of your laptop. Therefore, you can see the Toshiba site for an update:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

Before installing the latest version, you must remove the old version first and reboot the laptop.

Maybe a reinstall of Windows with the Toshiba recovery disc could also be useful and in the worst case, it s only a hardware malfunction and it must swap the motherboard. :(

    Welcome them

  • Tecra A10 - no sound using Win XP

    Hi all
I have some problems with the sound of my Toshiba Tecra A10. I have already installed the Audio from Realtek driver and I see the little speaker symbol down on the right side, too.

But I don't hear anything. The Device Manager has a yellow question mark on "Modem Device on High Definition Bus" Audio.

I installed the Driver Modem Agere Systems, but nothing happened.

Can someone help me and give me a link for this driver I need.
    I use Windows XP.

    Details of the material:

    HDAUDIO\FUNC_02 & VEN_11C1 & DEV_1040 & SUBSYS_11790001 & REV_1002\4 & 9E9AEC4 & 0 & 0101

    Kind regards

    > I use Windows XP.

OK, although similar questions I with Win XP on other laptops with new HD audio from Realtek.
The point is that you have SP2 and SP3!

The SP2 and SP3 provides important patches and fixes for the HD audio
Then firstly uninstall the Realtek audio driver.
Then install the SP2 and SP3.
Then go to Device Manager and remove the marked devices of yellow exclamation.
    Reboot the laptop.
Now Win XP should find a new audio device and should ask the driver.
No, you must install the audio driver from Realtek.
Reboot once more and now the sound should works fine

  • Update BIOS and Tecra A9 - no sound with Win 7

    Hello

I installed Windows 7 from a Tecra A9 laptop and everything works fine except the sound. Sound card for Windows 7 driver is already installed. The speakers and the microphone is detected. While playing music in sound devices the green bar under the speakers raises up and down, but I can't hear anything.

I read that the update of the BIOS can help, but it does not work under Windows 7, with a Live CD of Windows XP or in Windows XP Mode for Windows 7.

I don't want to reinstall Windows XP.

-Does anyone know how to get the sound working properly?

Have you checked it with headphones?
Have you noticed the same thing?

To be honest I don't think THAT BIOS will change anything on this subject. If the audio driver is installed correctly, check that all the settings in Windows and also in Audio DD Realtek Audio Manager.

  • Tecra A3 - no sound from the left speaker

I have some problems with the sound on my Tecra. Compared with a friend control Tecra A2 my volume is much quieter, despite having set me all available volume. Now however, the left speaker has renounced all of ghost when I move the balance on the wave or Volume to the left.
An update of the driver would solve this problem?

    Hello

I think it s a hardware malfunction (speaker). I don't think that the replacement of speaker can solve this problem. I suggest you contact the service partner.
The right service partner, you can find on the official website of Toshiba.
If the warranty is still valid, all the changes are free of charge.

  • Tecra M2 - no sound using Win XP

Hello. IM in the States by the way. I couldn't get logged in the other forums of Toshiba. (Don't ask). So ill just ask for help here.

I have an Audio/speakers/Sound card problem. I don't know who it is, if any. I have a Toshiba Tecra M2,
Don't know what model. Under my laptop, it just says: Tecra M2. Made in China. I got it off the coast of a friend, don't know where he got it.

After I got it, I installed Windows XP Home sp3. Updated some hardware that could not find drivers and everything works fine
with the exception of my sound. I have a good driver, no warning of any yellow exclamation point. I checked and double-checked
and triple checked all volume and mute options. The volume knob on the front of the laptop is turned upward.

    I installed these patches UAA

    After checking KB888111WXPSP2 on 21/01/2010
    After checking KB888111WXPSP3 on 02/02/2010
    passed verification KB898461 on 20/01/2010

Go to administrative tools > Services > Windows Audio is started and automatic.

I installed the Chipset first and re-installed my audio driver utility. Still not fixed.

I get sound through the headset. But is all torn, looks like someone took a screwdriver
and dug around in it. The helmet is not same snap tight as it should be, he wiggles around.

So I have to move the CAP autour until I find the right place and the Øresund will play through the headphones, but the slightest bump
to it will cut off the sound of the headset. I tried to move card into the socket to take off all the sensors stuck in there,
(if it is left there.) That did not work.

So I thought that I work around the internal speakers and headphones and just buy a few external USB Portable speakers.
so I did, and they do not play all the sounds! I am in a bind. The only thing I can think is if I update my
The motherboard BIOS and perhaps the noise will kick in. I checked my current BIOS settings, there is nothing on the Audio or sound. But I don't know what BIOS file for in downloads. If someone could help me here I would much apreciate that too.

If anyone has more ideas on how to solve this problem, please, please offer advice you can think. Thank you.

Here is some info on my PC laptop Toshiba Tecra M2.

    Operating system
    -----------------
Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 (build 2600)
    Multimedia
    -----------
    SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio
    Driver date: 01/09/2004
    Driver version: 5.12.1.5240

If you need more info, just tell me what to do.

Inside the headphone jack there is a small mixer. This switch disables the laptop speakers when the headset is connected. Perhaps this little switch is broken or somehow can not activate Laptop speakers when the headset is disconnected. So you can have good working sound card, but you do not hear anything on the laptop speakers.

  • Tecra S11 - low sound level

I recently bought a S11 and as a former owner of the Tecra line, I was very disappointed with the Audio level. I realize that the S11 is a Business and not a multimedia machine, but I have to sit nearby and make sure that there is no noise in the room to hear the speakers edge.

Is there a way to fix this? Even 50% more audio would be a huge improvement.

    Hi Pman,

I m not a Tecra S11 owner but I can't imagine that the sound level is so low that you described.

What program to use for listening to music?
What type of files you have more music?
    What operating system you have?

I can recommend the player media VLC media player. That s a tool of freeware that is really great and the audio plays and empty files.

Make sure also that you have higher and you are trying to update the audio driver.

I'm going to Panel speaker - its - control - advance - and selected portable stereo speaker and headphone but still no sound.
I pressed ESC (a speaker symbol), the volume button in the middle of the base but still no sound.

    Is this hardware problem?

    Can someone please

    Hello

Win XP SP3 is needed because SP3 contains significant fixes for HD audio driver.
It must install SP3 first, then the audio driver!
If driver sound has been already installed, then remove it and then install SP3.

Also, I found this FAQ from Toshiba:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB7C021B0001R01.htm

It s related to the Vista operating system but maybe you should try it under Win XP!

Intel HD Audio, I think that what comes from the CPU/GPU (Core i)

I hope someone can helf solve me this problem.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

As far as I know to choose the HDMI output as the primary device.
You can do this in Control Panel-> sound-> playback.

If you n t all devices listed in this category, then you should try right click and must have activated options called; Show hidden devices and show disabled devices.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Paul

No answers I'm afraid - just solidarity. I have the same problem. I have also reinstalled the audio driver and run all the diagnostics. He solved once to do a return system restore to before the problem occurred and got my sound back for a time - but it happened again and this time a system restore does not help.

  • Tecra 9100: No sound and unknown device

I have the laptop above and have recently flattened and reinstalled Windows XP pro. I have no sound, I have a speaker in my sys tray, Device Manager detects the card Intel (r) 82801 CA/Cam AC'97 Audio Controller, after I installed the RealTek AC 97 drivers. I plugged in the headphones to make sure that this is not not the speakers who have blown. But still no sound. All volumes are turned upward and the volume on the front wheel is set in the middle. In sounds and audio in the Control Panel, all volumes are increasing and the speakers are set to portable stereo speakers.

    Any ideas?

I have a unknown devices in Device Manager States location is a system compatible ACPI Microsoft from what I see on Google it's something to do with the battery. Once again any ideas?

    Thank you

I know that your laptop. It s a Tecra 9100 and this laptop supports a Yamaha YMF753 - stereo 16-bit Sound Blaster Pro compatible sound card.

The problem is the XP SP1 or SP2. The audio driver of Yamaha does not support SP1.
Seems that you need to update the audio driver.

    Hello

If I you would then I would first check the sound settings in the control panel.

    Click sound-> the Read tab.

In my case the "speakers" are defined by default.
It would be also a good idea to check the property settings.

    I'd appreciate your comments.

    Good luck

  • Tecra A2 - no sound under Win XP

To cut a long story short, I installed a registry cleaner via a usb key.

After running the cleaner, uninstall unused programs too, the cell phone has become fast enough but audio disappeared I accidentally uninstalled the Sigmatel AC97 driver. However I couldn't reinstall the driver because of an error message that I am getting.

Without a cd to XP, I tried a system restore and proceeded. I managed to install the driver, but again I have no had no noise while the icon and the audio console was in order. I have a scanner and there were a couple of malware in the system that I got rid of.
Again not sound. I run microsoft fixit audio and the result was: "everything is working perfectly.

Is there something I can do to regain the sound back without having to reinstall the windows?
I don't have the CD to install XP in any case.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Thanks for the short comments!

I recently reinstalled my laptop with a new copy of Windows xp pro. After installing all the drivers where installed correctly, but I have no sound.

When I put my helmet I can perceive a very low noise.

Tried almost everything posted on the forums but no luck.

    Someone at - it solution

    Kind regards

    > When I put my helmet I can perceive a very low noise.
This means that the pilot is ok and possibly that the volume should be increased

    Reach:
    (1) control Panel-> sounds, speech, and Audio Devices section
    (2) select sounds and Audio devices
    (3) sound now and the Group of devices Audio will appear.
    (4) in reading his article click Volume
    (5) in the control of the Volume Group on all controls volume max (foot)
