The managed behind router switch remote access?

What is the best way to access remotely to a switch behind a router?  I will use a switch SF300, and there is no server.

For points of access (PA) behind a router, I give each a diffferent LAN address and port number.  In router I have forward TCP traffic with the single port/LAN IP.  Then using the port numbers with the address of the static router, the browser can remote access to the router or the attached AP.  But where do I put the managed switch LAN port number?  Assume default is port 80 and I would change to 8001 to switch #1; 8002 to switch #2; etc.  Could not find this info in the manual of configurtion.

Hello

At this point, I would recommend a call to the Cisco Small Business Centre at 1-866-606-1866 support so that action can be taken and your configuration can be reviewed.

I have reproduced the concern here and I am able to remotely manage my switch SF300 with an RV082 as the router.

My rule in the RV082 are as follows:

Creating a custom topic UPnP service.  Create SF300 application name (it is a basic text field and can be any name), 8001 an external port and internal port 80.  I send to the address IP internal SF300 switch and click the check box.  From there on, I select Add to the list.  Once it appears in my list, I then click Save settings at the bottom of the page.

Thank you!

  • Routing and remote access - on three subnetworked, two subnet unable to reach to the internet!

    Hello

    Good evening everyone.

I had a problem in Routing and remote access on windows 2003 server.  This server is already configured as a file server, domain server, and application server. Also configured as a router (thanks to access routing & remote) to connect the three different networks with each other. If this server has three NICs installed and each separate NIC network cards represent.

    three different networks are - 192.42.160.0/24, 192.42.161.0/24, 192.42.162.0/24

Three cards of the NETWORK adapter installed on the server as with the IP - next

    NIC - 1 = 192.42.160.220, Sub - 255.255.255.0, gateway - No.

    NIC - 2 = 192.42.161.220, Sub - 255.255.255.0, gateway - 192.161.220.112 (this ip address for internet access then 4 g router IP)

    -3 = 192.42.162.220, NETWORK cards, Sub - 255.255.255.0, gateway - No.

Now the question is I can get Internet & (also scathing in router ip 192.42.161.112) one network i.e. - 192.42.161.0/24, BUT when I try to access the internet from another two network (192.42.160.0/24 & 192.42.162.0/24) I can not access and in addition can not ping to internet router ip - 192.42.161.112...

So, how do I access the internet to another two network also?

I was already the configuration of static routing for all three network but I wasn't always successful. I don't really know what exactly static routing this should be done in access routing & remote area so that all three network can reach to the internet?

Does anyone know what may be the issue?  Attached full config.

  • How to use Layer 2 Ports on the Cisco 1841 router switch

    Hello

I use the Cisco 1841 router with a single port layer 3 Fe0 and 8 Ports switched.

I gave the IP on the Fe0 port which is connected to another router.

Now I don't know how to use Layer 2 of the router switch ports.

I tried to make one of the port as a Port of access by switchport mode access and connected my laptop and the same subnet given IP, but I can't ping my Fe0 IP port and vice versa, as I am also unable to ping my laptop router.

Can someone explain to me how to use these ports on layer 2?

We have Server Windows 2008 R2, which is our domain, but also DHCP server controller. On this server we have Setup RRA for VPN and it works fine. We had to stop our DC due to a failure and after I got the domain controller to the top and it is a problem for users that connect to the VPN.

When users try to connect to the VPN, it connects successfully. But they did not access network as usual. I looked in the VPN properties, and it receives an IP address of 169.254.xxx.xx which is not the correct network IP address. So while the user who is remote think they are connected, they are currently not connected.

  • Why can't I start Remote Access Connection Manager

I am not able to connect to internet using my 3G Broadband. I try to resolve the status of the remote access connection manager to "on the road", but the error message invites up to said "Windows could not start the service on local computer remote access connection manager. Error 1068: the dependency service or group could start. "I find the dependencies are Remote Access Auto Connection Manager, routing and remote access, Sharing (ICS) to connect Internet. I tried to put those 3 to "started", but was able to start also.

    Hello

You must make sure that the underside of services are started and restart your computer and check if the problem is resolved.

    To start the services.

    1. click on start.
    2. type Services.msc in the search box and click on enter.

Note: the common addiction for "Remote Access Connection Manager" and 'Remote Access Auto Connection Manager' is 'Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol Service'.

Make sure that you check the properties of service no matter what you try to start, then click the dependency tab and make sure that you select the dependency registered under this service services.

The dependency of 'Remote access connection manager' services include:

    a. secure Socket Tunneling Protocol Service
    b. phone
    c. Plug-and-Play
    d. remote Procedure Call (RPC)
    e. DCOM Server process Launcher
    f. RPC end point mapper

Make sure that you try to start the Connection Manager Service dependency services automatic remote access as well.

    Method 2:

I recommend you to update the drivers and see if it makes a difference. You must be logged on as administrator to perform these steps.

    1. open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, click on the Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the assword or provide confirmation.
    2. in Device Manager, locate the device, and then double-click the device name.
    3. click Driver tab, then click on set to update driver and follow the instructions.

Try to follow the link provided to update a hardware driver that is not working properly and check the question below.

I'm trying to figure out how to get remote access to work via the internet. I used to work and it works very well, but we are also on a local network. I have sent the invitation to someone and the password, but it does not connect. I tried the following:

    • Computer Management / Services / connection manager (manual) remote access & routing and remote access (manual)
    • Windows Firewall / allow a program... / Exceptions / Allow: Remote Assistance & routing and remote access
    • Disabled Norton Firewall

I have alos got my friend to make sure that its parameters match mine. And I still have no success. Does anyone have other ideas? Alternatively, it won't work because I am trying to connect via the internet?

    Hi nataar,

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forums.

    • What software do you use for remote access?
    • What is the version of Windows installed on the computer?

If you use Remote Desktop connection in Windows Vista, try the procedure below

Log your PC computer with an account that has administrator privileges.

Step 1 open the start menu, right-click on "My computer" and select "Properties". A window with the options and details of the computer opens on your screen.

Step 2 go to the 'Remote' tab at the top of the window "Properties".

Step 3 check the box for the option "Allow users to connect remotely to this computer" in the section "Remote Desktop" in the Properties window.

Step 4: click on the 'Apply' button at the bottom of the window to save the changes and enable the remote desktop. Outside users will now be able to access your computer over the Internet.

Enabling remote desktop access to your computer

To activate the Office remote connections to your computer, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, right-click computer, and then select Properties.
    2. Under tasks, click settings on the remote control and confirm the user account control prompt.
    3. Select allow connections from computers running any Version of remote desktop. (Version 'more safe' only works on using IPSec security, and on these networks business networks, you probably will not be allowed to change these settings in any case).
    4. By default, all administrator-level accounts can connect to the computer. If you want to grant remote desktop access to a limited number of users, click Select users, add, advanced, find now and then find the desired name in the search results section. Double-click it. To add another name, click Advanced and find now again.
    5. Click OK to close the dialog boxes.

NOTE A password must be set on a user account before the user can connect to the remote computer.

At this point, you must do two things to make sure that remote desktop has been implemented correctly:

    • Click Start, Control Panel. Under Security, select allow a program through Windows Firewall and confirm the user account control prompt. On the Exceptions tab, find the Office remotely in the list of Exceptions and do not forget, that it is checked. If it isn't, check it out. On the general tab, make sure that block all incoming connections is not checked.
    • Use another computer to test the remote desktop before you get involved in the Internet game. Follow the instructions in the second part of the chapter to open the desktop client remotely on another computer on your network. As the host name, type the name of the computer you just put up. Make sure that you can connect on your own local network before continuing.
