Unable to connect to my HP laptop

Hello

I have a HP Envy m6 that was purchased less than a year.

It works great except that I don't remember my password to get into my laptop.

Does anyone have an idea what to do?

Better yet, how can I get a recovery CD to format the hard drive and start over?

I tried to use the password reset tool, but as the laptop doesn't have a CD, I can not use this tool.

I went to the BIOS and change the boot order to laptop can boot from external CD? DVD with USB, but this doesn't work either.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

F11 is launching the Recovery Manager.

  • Unable to connect to internet on laptop using the router wireless netgear WGR614 v9 and windows 7

My office that I use as my host computer running Windows XP. I have a wireless network works on another laptop also on Windows XP, but cannot get a connection on the second laptop that is running Windows 7. Just bought from a friend. I appreciate any help you can give. The laptop has a Wi Fi sticker on it, so I guess he has the ability to connect. When I try to connect, it will ask me a security key. I put the safety key in and it said possible key is not. Don't know what else to do. If I run an ethernet cable from the modem and connect it to the laptop, it will allow me to connect to the internet.

    Hello

Look in the Wireless Manager and delete everything that is there.

http://www.ezlan.NET/Vista/wireless_manager.jpg   (Control Panel, network and sharing Center. Upper-left click Manage wireless networks.

After cleaning, connect from taskbar tray wireless icon.

Given that your wireless network is more in the preferred list, it will prompt for the password. Put the password that is current, and if all goes well it will connect.

If the password does not work the newspaper to the router with a cable and restore the password.

  • Unable to connect to internet via WiFi

    Hello

I am unable to connect WiFi with my laptop. It displays connected to the router but the Red (X) between the router and the network. In the system tray to allow brand yellow exclamatory sign wireless. I am able to connect using my cell phone & macbook pro with WiFi, so there is no problem with the router. When I try to solve the problem using the windows feature, and then he said gateway is not available. I can connect to the internet using the cable & I can connect to the Wi Fi on different router but not able to find out why it does not connect with this router Xfinity?

    Here are the details:

Laptop computer: laptop Compaq Presario CQ58 155SA
    Serial number: [personal information]
    Product number: B6K01EA

    OS: Win 7 64 bit

    Router: Xfinity Comcast

    Please notify. Thanks in advance.

    Thanks & best regards,

    Say hello to new raj_sach.

You have to call Comcast and ask another router.  This model is known to have many questions.

If you take a look at the job for the router (click here), you can see that it supports up to Windows 7.  This means that all users on Windows 8 will have an update of the firmware (even if you have Windows 7, I wanted to report it).  ARRIS published an update that solves a number of problems with this router - but it will not work on the version you get from Comcast.  This means that Comcast will have to release their own update to solve problems.  You can see on this site on the site of Comcast that this router is known to have problems.

You can see similar problems in this article and this thread.

Contact Comcast immediately and ask for a new router.

    Have a great day!

  • Laptop HP 15: unable to connect to the Windows store for updates

Setting up the new HP 15 laptop.  You seem very well online.  Icon says I'm connected to home WiFi.  But when I try to access the "shop", I said that I am not connected to the internet.  What Miss me?  I don't know what else to say.

    Hi there @ElliottO

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you get an error message when you try to connect to the Windows store. You have problems with other Web pages having the same error, or are you able to navigate normally?

With a bit of checking, it seems that it's an unusual problem, but there are several causes. Here are a few pages of various related forums that can help:

  • HP 15-ac152sa laptop: wifi tab disappears from the network settings menu. Unable to connect to wifi

I bought a new laptop. I connected to the WiFi network with no problems the first time. I have downloaded Microsoft office 2016 (home and student). The next time I turned on the laptop, the icon WiFi in the corner of the screen says "no connection available.

On the tab "network and internet". There is no tab for WiFi. Initially, I managed to fix it by clicking on the 'network card', 'properties' and on the 'power management' tab, I unchecked the box indicating "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. This fixed the problem... until the next time I turned on the laptop. It's the same thing and I am unable to connect to internet via WiFi.

The single adapter in the list here is "Realtek PCI-e FE family controller #2". Still unable to connect to WiFi... Still no WiFi tab under settings "network and internet". Help, please!

So, the problem was finally solved (fingers crossed!).

Yes, the Internet access worked perfectly every time when it is connected through the Ethernet cable. Ultimately I phoned the helpline. They checked for the new driver updates (these have been already updated), restored the BIOS remotely and then restored the device to the factory settings. Start of the fault still took place intermittently. This indicates a hardware problem, and the unit was sent for repair.

The idea was that when the WiFi did not work, the WiFi card wasn't physically visiable in the list of available adapters, nor has the Bluetooth adapter. Apparently in this device, the Bluetooth and WiFi functions are on the same network adapter and apparently those elements should not disappear from the list of available adapters. So the fact that they disappeared together intermittently indicated a hardware problem with the card.

Now that I got my laptop back and I think that the WiFicard has been replaced. Hoping all is well now and I hope this post helps someone else.

Thanks hp for fast and wonderful customer service.

The network port is the port on the laptop (it is not that large - look around) that looks like a large phone connection.

You have a router/network to connect to and a cable network to connect with?
