Upgradation Codec C20

Hi team,

We need to upgrade Cisco C20 Codec TC 3.1 version 5.1.7 TC 7.3 since we need to integrate / register with Cisco Call Manager 10.5.1

Sometime, I have found that if we upgrade from 4.x to 7.x, we need to have the keys to unlocking generated before the upgradation to do and would take about 25-30 minutes for the upgrade.

Can someone share experience on the same on the backup plan, if possible restoration? Can us directly to TC TC 7.3 3.1.1 upgrade or an intermediate version is necessary as TC 3. x to 4.x and 7.x?

regds,

Aman

You can go directly to the TC7 without problem, simply to take note of various changes from release to release, so be sure to check the date of issue so that you're not caught off guard.  If you upgrade to TC7, you only need a key to unlock for this release, but if you upgrade in stages, you will need a key to unlocking for each major release, that you plan to upgrade to on your way to TC7.

There is no backup for the TC3 interface, it is quite old, but you could just simply connect to the codec via SSH and take an exit to the xConfiguration, essentially the same that make a backup of the log.  It is easy to roll back once you get to TC7, there is a web interface to swap the image of the software to the previous version, or you can connect via SSH and use the CLI to perform the exchange of software.

Take a look at c-series-endpoints-software-upgrade-v3-v7 for additional information that will help.

A mixture of CUCM and TMS is not really possible.

In any case, which concerned the TMS, can you set a password for the admin on the endpoint and then add this

password under the connection tab in the Navigator system of this endpoint.

After that do a force refresh and apply management settings and see if the meetings will appear again.

As TMS pushes this information, it would be the correct symptom do not show this info when

  • TANDBERG Codec C20 with software version TC4.0.3.243792

Product: TANDBERG Codec C20 Software Version: TC4.0.3.243792

    Version: 2011-01-25

    Hello

I have a C20 with an old TC4.0.3.x of output, I would like to upgrade to a later version to be able to do H323/SIP calls with an alias in front of the IP address with direct connection (no keeper). For example: [email protected] / * /. My understanding of this version TC4.0.3.x does not allow this type of call.

How can I pass TC4.03.X which is obviously an outdated version of the 2011 now safely? From TC4.x to TC5.x? then TC6.x?

How can I get the keys to release of Cisco in order to ensure that the updates will not be rejected due to the missing keys release?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

You must have the keys to unlocking the main upgrade for each version.

The same thing must be added before you do the upgrade.

  • Codec C20 no led no red.

    Hi all

I try to do a factory reset on one of our endpoints (profile 42 C20) that I can't connect to it due to authentication failure. Somehow after that I upgraded to 4.1 TC5.1 it resets the root account, but none of the default works or what it was worth.

While I'm doing the factory reset: press and hold the power button until the led goes red - I it held for more than 90 seconds and does not have red... I tried and tried, and the indicator light on the codec does not red...

    Can someone please help?

    See you soon

    Hugh

    Hugh,

The behavior has changed in TC5.1. The RED LED lights is no longer, but rather the Green LED flashes. The process is always the same:

    1. Disable the codec.
    2. Press and hold the power until the led on the front in red flashes green.
    3. Release the power button and press the button twice within 5 seconds.

    Thank you

I have read the Administrator's guide and can not finde any thing about the path of the Audio in the codec.

One knows if it is not possble.

    Bert-Wietze

    Hello

Audio for HDMI 1 - C20 is disabled.

The entrance designated for the camera to the codec C has the audio disabled.

There is no command for the user to turn it on.

You will notice this in the title of the form respective product.  Example, for the C20, you see under the video inputs, 1 HDMI input is specified, but under the audio inputs, no HDMI input is specified.

  • Cisco Codec C20

    Hello

Can we register C20 Codec to Cisco Call Manager 10.5.x since I was trying to look in add phone and get options like "Cisco Telepresence profile 42 (C20)" and "Cisco Telepresence Quick Set C20?

We need to select and then to do the configuration.

I can find the other CodecC40/C60/C90 in Call Manager.

    Please notify.

    regds,

    Aman

They are different products, although the profile systems use the C20 his codec, they might have different options available to them than a C20 basis.  It is therefore preferable to use the device that corresponds to what you have.

Insofar as a specific version, I don't have the answer, usually better to run the latest software codec version, except if there are bugs or problems with it that could prevent you to do so.

  • Cisco TP Codec C20 is not able to speak CEC with LG LCD screens

I was waiting for the CEC on / stand by the possibilities of the software TC4.2.1 for awhile only discover that it does not work with LG CEC (aka SimpLink), but on the other hand, it works very well with the Sony BRAVIA Sync.

Has anyone encountered this same problem?

    Hello Mihail,

We also tested with LG SimpLink and seller sends specific commands and will not respond to requests for confirmation.  This limitation will be added the release notes.

  • C20 how do upgrade the software?

    Hello

    I want to improve C20 version 6.3.0

    now the version is 4.1

I've been upgraded to 4.1 to 6.3. But 'Dead demand' message T_T

    Can you help me?

    Thank you.

Yes, it's possibel to upgrade codec C20 directly from TC4.x to TC6.x (or even the new version TC7.0.1).

If you are having problems, this via a web browser, there are other methods that can be used (as mentioned by Martin).  See the instructions on how to update via SCP which might be worth a try - they worked for me on a few occasions where I needed to use them.

  • Cisco profile series - vs vs C40 C20 C60 codec

    Hi people,

Is there an online guide that can give me some information about comparisons between codecs c20, c40 and c60 on video profile 42 series systems and why it has such a big difference in the price that is, what have you found to this extra cost?

Also, is it possible to connect an external projector codec to view the video of the codec on the overhead?

    Thank you

    Hello.

Yes, it will be possible. You have several inputs and outputs on different codecs.

The main difference between the C series are physiqueet inputs and outputs and call functions.  See the tables below.

  • C20 TC6.0.1 update: fan fails test

    Hi all

Anyone else have an indication of the failure of test tan on the homepage of the web on a codec C20 interface, updated since TC5 to TC6.0.1 freshly made?

I mean on the system information page / general tab, Fans report 1 or 2 test failed on one or two fans. The error is not reported in the pages of diagnosis, but only on the system information.

In addition, it is not systematic. We have 3 cases on about 15-20 codecs but it's worrying, the customer who fears for overheating.

I have tried factory reset, downgrade/upgrade, but can recover a positive test of fan.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Guillaume

    Hello

This looks like a cosmetic error as I can find it on many devices. but the absolutely perfect fucntions device

It could be a sensor failure or could be a mistake.

ambient up to 70-72 C shall be operable temperature if its goes beyond that, then it can be treated like overheating.

You can check the actual temperature of the device in xstatus / / temp.

If the peripheral rebootes after a long use could then be a problem that must be addressed.

    Thank you

  • C / SX / EX / MX upgrade paths

    Hello

I have been the scene of c20 upgrades via the GUI and CPC, 4.x > 5.1.1 > > 7.3.2 7.1.1 hopping. 3rd party support told me that this is the way to upgrade the C20s.

I struggled to find any documentation to confirm this upgrade path to 7.3.2. I'm about to proceed to the upgrade C40s and 60 with SX / EX / models MX.

I'm looking for the validation of the document confirm how best to spend to 7.3.2 on all of the above models.

I looked at the release notes do not seem to talk about any version of jump requirement.

    Thank you

    B

You can go directly to the current version of the TC software without having to jump several releases to get there.  You'll just need to get the keys to unlocking the Cisco Licensing Portal TC7.x and apply it on the codecs, before doing the upgrade.  Applying the unlock key invites you to restart, you can disregard and go directly to download TC as the upgrade to restart anyway endpoint and apply the release key at the same time.

Note, it is important that you read well ALL the TC release notes for the current version, you have up to TC7.  There are several versions where changes have been made that could be important to you.  Some of these changes are:

    • TC5.x - required serial connection is by default enabled (important only if you use control 3rd party such as Crestron or AMX systems)
    • TC6.x - layouts have changed, especially when using two screens with presentation and selfview.
    • TC7.x - Root access has been removed (I noticed that mention you SCP that requires root access), also instantaneous behavior has changed over the previous day.
  • Backup of configuration Cisco Codec C40

    Dear all,

Can I know how to take backup of the configuration of the Cisco Codec C40, please?

And also help me with the document of the administrator?

    Thanks in advance

    Kind regards

    Syed

You can simply copy the output of the xConfiguration and paste it into the SSH client.  You may need to change the output a bit to get the correct formatting, however.  For example, the output registered since my SHH client contains a preceding * c which must be removed before that I can stick again in the SSH client:

    *c xConfiguration Video Wallpaper: Waves
When you perform a software update, codec configuration, including the keys installed option is not affected and will remain in the process. Keys options include Premium (PR), double (DD) display resolution and Multisite (MS). C40 has been end of sales since June 2015, so it is not possible to order anything for this, see eos-eol-notice-c51-733467. Procedure to upgrade the software codec is on pg 28, the same page mentioned in my previous answer. To upgrade codec software, you will need a release key when switching from one major version to another, as TC5 to TC7. You can request a release of the Cisco Licensing Portal key > obtain other Licenses > telepresence free software key, as long as the device has an active support contract. If you do not have an active support contract, you can contact TAC and get the free unlock key by referencing the Security Advisory cisco-sa-20160504-tpxml, which you can get a key to unlocking TC7.
  • Phonebook C20

    Hello

is it possible to see the contents of the directory implemented through telnet or SSH on the Codec C20? I want to be able to tell if the system is to learn a repertoire of MSDS and whats inside without really physically go to the system.

On older MXP systems there were never a problem because you could see the directory through the web interface.

It would be nice to see what titles in the system directory actually gets.

According to a colleague, there IS a way, but he can't fins it more

    Michel,

What can I say (via SSH), "Search directory xcommand" is the direction you want to go.

For example, ' xcommand search directory phonebooktype: company "returns a list of records from the phone book and number of entries in each file.

' xcommand directory search phonebooktype: corporate searchstring: limit "Insert a current text variable" : "Insert the number here" returns all entries with a common variable.

I'm sure there are additional search parameters to dig deeper, but this seems to be the direction that where you want to go.

  • Synch TMS directory phone book Local Codec

    Hi all

I was wondering, is it possible to synchronize the TMS (server) directory to the Codec (C20, 40, 60) Local Directory?

I checked on the guides of the admin and also on this forum, but without success.

    Thanks in advance

    See you soon
    Hugh

Hi, unfortunately, this is not possible with the c series that it does not support the download directories. The MXP in comparison does not support this.
