Hi guys,.

I want to SE ACS 3.3.2 upgrading to 4.1

I read in the documents that I need to upgrade to 3.3.3 then to 4.1...

I found how to change sounds 3.3.3 to 4.1 it to be smooth, but I can't find any clear document for the 3.3.2 upgrade SE to 3.3.3, claire document for that?

I have to reimage the appliance? or his smooth & direct upgrade to 3.3.3? and what about the database? can I restore it?

in the attachment you will find a page for upgrade of the device window.

Kind regards

No need to reimage acs. First of all, you need to update 3.3.3 then 4.1

Measures remain same for patch 3.3 and 4.1. Enclosed please find the steps to upgrade.

If you need software worm 3.3.3 you open a tac case.

Kind regards

  • Impossible to upgrade of ACS 5.2 to 5.5 ACS - request is won't boot.

    Hello

Someone at - he had problems upgrading a 5.2 to 5.5 ACS ACS?

I start with a 5.2 Patch 5 launched basic machine that has a configuration of work and production. The documentation states that to upgrade 5.2 you need to upgrade to first or 5.3 or 5.4 and then run the upgrade to 5.5. I tried to use the 5.3 and 5.4 as the draft, but I have the same problem. I have confirmed that the version 5.3 or 5.4 working properly until I started the 5.5 upgrade but said the 5.5 upgrade that we succesfull ACS services will not start. I get the message: (and it stays like that)

    acs/admin# sh app sta acs

    Application initializing...
    Status is not yet available.

Please check again in a minute.

I upgraded a 5.4 ACS running a default configuration to 5.5 with success so I know that my 5.5 upgrade file is not corrupted.

    I tried other things:

    • Carry out checks on the another patch and updated MD5 at file level.
    • Upgrade to the latest patch level of this version before proceeding with the upgrade
    • Make a compress of database prior to the upgrade of each minor version.
    • Reload the server at the beginning and before the upgrade for each minor release.
    • Wiping the system with the recovery disk 5.5 and restore 5.2 configuration (get the same error)
    • Application of the Pointed-PreUpgrade fix before the upgrade to 5.5

Here are the steps to upgrade:

    • Start with the basic DCC 5.2 Patch 5 (running a production configuration)
    • Reload the ACS
    • Run the database compress
    • Apply the patch 5.2 11
    • Reload the ACS
    • Apply the upgrade 5.4 application
    • Apply the patch 5.4 6
    • Run the database compress
    • Confirm the ACS application works
    • Apply patch PreUpgrade Pointed to 5.4
    • Reload the ACS
    • Apply the 5.5 upgrade application

Once, I get the error to happen so I can reset the config 5.5 by default, but then I lose all the information of production system.

    Anyone had similar problems?

You're running in the default listed below. This defect will be corrected in the patch 2.

CSCum67932 5.5 ACS starts only after the upgrade because of the unknown encryption algorithm

To work around the problem, you must apply the hotfix pointed on top of ACS 5.5,
then run 'database-compress' and finally remove the sharp patch.

  • Upgrade process ACS

Hello friends, I want to spend an ACS 5.0 to 5.1 and 5.2 version but in the upgrade instructions, there is a command line that I don't understand, is:

    Install patch ACS patch-name. tar.GPG repository repository-name

I Don t know what is the name of this repository and if it's a repository that I need to create. I can download the files for installation (patch and the ADE upgrade) but I don't know how to place them in the GBA unit (if this is the case).

    Thanks in advance.

    Atte. Jonah Diaz

    Hi Jonas,.

    type:

    t conf

    -repository JonasRepo

    -url ftp://x.y.z.a/

    -regular user password

You can then install the patch and use "JonasRepo" as the name of the repository. If you do not have to download patches for GBA but simply configure ACS to know where they are. You are not obliged to do FTP, you can use the question mark after "url" to see the different possibilities.

    Hope this helps,

    Nicolas

  • [ACS 5.2] Upgrade to ACS 5.4

    Hello

We got 2 Cisco ACS 5.2.0.26.10.

Main server as authentication server and collector of newspaper

Secondary server as authentication server. The replication is configured.

I read the following guide: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_control_system/5.4/installation/guide/csacs_upg.html#wp1194934

"There are a few exceptions to this typical configuration, you can manage as described below:

If the primary Server 5.3 ACS also works as a newspaper collector in your deployment 5.3, you should promote one of the secondary servers in the first server in the deployment. See the promotion of a secondary to the primary server .

This exception is combined with my case. I promote my secondary server as primary.

    I would have:

Secondary server as authentication server and collector of newspaper

    Main server as authentication server

Now, I think I have to cancel the registration of secondary to the main server...

According to the guide, I upgrade the server of the newspaper collector.

"Step 1: select a secondary server to become a newspaper collector:

I don't have another secondary server...

What should I do now? (upgrade secondary/log Server? backend upgrade?...)

This guide assumes that I have 1 primary and 2 secondary...

I don't know what steps to follow...

    Thanks for your help,

    Patrick

You have an open requestes TAC and so you will get their orientation

Wil share still some general clarifiactions that I'm aware of when ranging from 5.2 to 5.4 ACS ACS

For the first step in the upgrade process, you want to upgrade the collector's journal since will the configuration data and M & T.

    (1) if the ACS 5.2 log collector is a seconday should just remove from the deployment to make independent and then upgrade the server to be ACS 5.4. He will start the new ACS 5.4 main server (this is temporary and gets rectified at the end of the whole process)

    (2) if the collector's journal is primary GBA 5.2 then promote a difference then collector journal is now secondary and can follow step 1)

At this point have a server on CSA 5.4 and rest on ACS 5.2. Can now begin to spend the rest of 5.2 to 5.4 ACS ACS servers (as guide says: "enter the secondary server for GBA 5.4 primary server '-c' is the main temporary server as described in step 1)

Once all servers are migrated then can select "primary long-term." as opposed to a temporary

this writing I see that it is hard to explain. Am sure that TAC will do better

  • It is free upgrade acs 5.0 to 5.1

We recently bought an ACS ACS 5.0 1120. This time 5.1 is out, can I download it and upgrade my ACS?

    THX.

Yes. The same license can be used for the 5.0 and 5.1

In order to perform this update, there are a few tasks that need to be installed before the upgrade to 5.1

    (1) patch ACS 5.0 9. The OCC: 5-0-0-21 - 9.tar.gpg

    (2) ADE-version 1.2 / / / OS version operating system upgrades. The OCC: ACS_5.0.0.21_ADE_OS_1.2_upgrade.tar.gpg

These two steps, use the following command "acs patch installs the patch name. "tar.gpg repository repository-name "

Can then upgrade to 5.1 using following command:

    application upgrade Application-bundle name-directory-remote

All the bundles of patch/upgrade can be downloaded EAC. 5.1 the package is called "ACS_5.1.0.44.tar.gz".

    1. as long as I have move away a GBA work, is it one problem to another for the upgrade down?

    2. is it all current server certificates that are installed stay or will they be reused after the upgrade?

  • ACS 5.5 upgrade patch

    Hi all

According to Cisco, it is necessary to install the Patch: A-PreUpgrade -CSCum04132- 5-4-0-46 - 0 has .tar .gpg before moving to 5.5. Our current system running 5.4 has the latest patch 5-5-0-46 - 1.tar.gpg already installed.

I am aware that the patches are cumulative and if install us later it covers all of the patches below. but the Readme did not specify the ID of Bud

CSCum04132. Can you please advice what I need to install patch Pointed-PreUpgrade -CSCum04132- 5-4-0-46 - 0 to .tar .gpg before upgrade?

Not sure how GBA 5.4, you have applied hotfix ACS 5.5. The 5.5.0.46.1 patch is for GBA 5.5.0.46 only.

The fact-preupgrade patch is not covered by any rollup, as is a special patch.

In order to upgrade the ACS from 5.4 to 5.5, here is the process:

    1.] apply the latest patch i.e patch 5-4-0-46 - 6.tar.gpg

    2.] apply the patch sharp i.e sharp-PreUpgrade -CSCum04132- 5-4-0-46 - 0 to .tar .gpg

[3.] before running the "compress database" on ACS CLI.

    4.] apply ACS 5.5 application upgrade i.e ACS_5.5.0.46.tar.gz

    It will be useful.

  • Upgrade to Cisco acs 1120 to 4.2.1.15 help

    Hi all

I downgrade of cisco device 1120 DCC acs 4.2.0.124 5.0, I need to upgrade to acs 4.2.1.15. Is device 1120 cisco acs supports 4.2.1.15, how do I upgrade 4.2.0.124 4.2.1.15.

There are any server distribution for the upgrade. Please suggest on this, thank you

    Yes, you can upgrade it to 4.2.1.15 and you can download the version from the link below listed;

    http://Tools.Cisco.com/Squish/d4e4A

Here are the files you need to download:

    ACSse-Upgrade-Pkg-acs-v4.2.1.15-K9.zip

    ACSse-Upgrade-Pkg-appl-mng-v4.2.1.15-K9.zip

: Note apply the upgrade of management first and then software update. ..

Distribution server is a machine where you can download the patch on the Cisco Secure ACS Appliance, so if you download the version on your laptop and download then only one distributor (nothing special)

    Upgrade an application of 4.2.1.15

  • Upgrade from 5.0 to 5.2 ACS

    Hello

Currently, I would like to upgrade an ACS primary / secondary 5.0.0.21.6 to the latest version 5.2

The documentation says to use the recovery for the 5.1 CD provisional and then upgrades 5.2. Is this the same as the ISO image, which you can download from CCO?

This will cause a problem with the license that you are actually broken box?

Is it possible to use the ftp repository to make the upgrade without using an ISO / restoration disk image? What keeps intact licenses?

When you upgrade you restore type "router" configuration and databases on both devices of the CSA? I guess that the answer to this depends on if the recovery / ISO image is used.

Should I expect my primary / secondary relationship works on 5.1 or can I do each a 5.0 to 5.1 5.2 all in one fell swoop can sort out the primary / secondary ACS distributed environment?

Thanks for any help on this

    Mark

The recovery image would be an ISO format and upgrade would be a .tar format. Yes, these files can be downloaded EAC.

You have read the correct procedure. After reimage, you must reinstall the license.

We cannot use FTP for ACS 5.0---> ACS 5.1 upgrade. We have to reimage here, no other way.

    backup

To perform a backup (including data ADE OS as host name, IP address) and place the backup in a repository, use the backup EXEC mode command.

backup backup-name-name of the repository repository

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_control_system/5.2/command/reference/cli_app_a.html#wp1888749

    backup GBA

To save a configuration ACS (not including the data of the BONE of the ADE), use the backup of the acs in EXEC mode command.

    repository backup backup-filename ACS repository-name

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_control_system/5.2/command/reference/cli_app_a.html#wp1886805

Upgrade can be done while we both GBA in sync, you must unregister and register them again.

    I hope this helps.

Thank you all for the help

    AHA

    Tarik, great answer + 5

    Hello Abdullah Hashim

You start by secondary. If he's a collector of newspaper and then move it to primary school for a while, once the upgrade has completed, bring it back to secondary, and upgrade of the main box.

He recommended latest patch on the current version (to avoid known problems) before you upgraded to 5.3 or 5.4 GBA

You are already using the latest patch of ACS 5.1 (IE patch 6) so you do not need to install another patch. ACS patches are cumulative, so no need to install the previous patches. The last being should have correct all defects.

Let me know if you still have any questions.

  • The upgrade to Cisco ACS SE and Remote Agent

    Hello

Currently we are upgrading the PDC to Windows Server 2008, Standard Edition R2.

I am little confused with information available for upgrade scenarios. Appearing on the current working versions.

    Cisco ACS SE - version 4.1 Build 23 5 Patch 1

Cisco ACS Remote Agent version 4.2 (0.124)

The new operating system will work on 64-bit, I think that the current ACE SE and the remote agent can / must be upgraded.

My existing versions, give the possible scenarios of upgrade available for me. After that upgraded SE and Remote Agent should work for the 64 bit OS.

    Thanks in advance!

Yes, it is not possible to upgrade the ACS ACS 5.2 existing to level 4.1. They are two different boxes run on a different platform.

Unfortunately ACS 4.x does not support windows 2008 r2.

5.2 ACS is the only option left, and you will need to buy a new box of seprate with the new licnese for this.
