• VBAI - image acquisition misframe problem

  I have a smart camera, NI C. 1776 when I tried to acquire the image, after 4 or 5 images, it ejects a weird picture half misframe. This will not suitable for imaging my self.

  I've attached a normal picture and a peak misframed to let the guys have a better version of this problem.

  Could someone help me on this?

  You set the "Flip Horizontal" or "Vertical Flip" setting? What happens if you set it to the size of the image complete? If none of these made a difference, let us know how it works after the upgrade.

  Has confirmed that the video output shows the same image?

• Can I simulate the acquisition of a working folder?

  I am using vision builder to perform an inspection, and I'm the images that pass inspection and filtering images that are not and save each in a different folder.  I want that whenver there is a bad image, a copy of the last "good image" is saved in the folder of the image, for example repeat the last good image, what I've done to simulate an acquisition in the folder I save the good images and if the inspection fails to go to a new State where he copies the good image last in the folder of the image does make sense?  Sometimes it seems to work, sometimes it doesn't, the secon simulate acquisition is not up-to-date (I have the option ' cycle thorugh folder ' activated.)   What can I do?

  Another problem I have is for saving images, I need to add a timestamp, it is possible to change this setting and add a number in the name of the file? the image for example picture001, 002, 003 image?

  In Vision Builder 2012 SP1 and earlier versions, the step of the Acquisition to simulate not rescan the folder to which it points.

  However, we have added this feature in Vision Builder AI 2013, which just came out.

• How to run vision inspection build in VBAI 2011 on PC

  I am currently working on the machine in VBAI 2011 vision project. First tests of my vision algorithm, I did with the images acquired previously by original camera. I used simulate acquisition for work on these images. When I finished my project on VBAI I decided to migrate my LabVIEW 2011 inspection using the new API, because I create the more complex User Interface. I created as a result of the code:

  You must call launch Local VBAI engine, then the connection to the VI engine. Look at the example in your examples examples/LabVIEW VBAI 2011/API file for how to do this.

• How to put 2 different forms of wave with the timestamp on a chart

  I'm putting the 2 waveforms with different stamps on the same chart.

  I'm able to do that if I post my data in my chart once.

  When I write to my chart several times, the new data replaces old data, instead of concatenation to the old data.

  See the vi attached for what I'm trying to do.

  Can anyone suggest how to do this correctly?

  It works.  It's your data.  Put a longer wait statement in the loop and watch.

  You create 1/10 seconds of data in each simulated waveform.  You have a millisecond 33 wait between your 2 simulations.  The loop For will run super fast with only this 33 msec waiting that is less than 1/10th of a second.  Then of course some data will overwrite old data.

  Change your Simulations for "Simulate Acquisition Timing" rather than "Run as fast as Possible" which will slow down the loop and make it more realistic timetable.

• Transparent background in the eps file appears opaque when gray open in Illustrator C6

  I have an eps file has been created using GMT (mapping software) that has a transparent background. When I open it with Illustrator C6, I get an opaque gray background instead. If I ignore it and export after having been edited, there remains grey! How can I make transparent? When I have several layers with transparent background, I don't see the underlying layers.

  Order export as tiff or pdf with ps2raster works perfectly well.

  In fact, it should be transparent to make it happen. The EPS format does not support transparency, so there is none. The mapping software that generated the image apparently uses a color "mate" (gray, a bit like a 'transparent'.gif) and/or a clipping to simulate transparency path, as you have seen in those other subsequent conversions.

  If you have Photoshop, you could open it, remove the gray and save it in a format that supports true transparency.

• How to change the acquisition on GigE Camera settings in VBAI

  I have a line scan application where I need to control the rate of the line depending on the speed of the machine.  I use Vision Builder (Vbai) 2009 and I have Labview, but not the Module's development of Vision.  I use a custom Labview User Interface for VI.  The camera is a camera of IRLS Basler Runner RUL2048 - 30 GM GigE.  I created a Labview VI, who wrote the price of line and it works, however when Vbai executes the step of acquiring Image GigE she ignores everything I wrote to the camera and use the parameters that are defined in the step to Aquire Image itself.

  I tried to create an Image Acquisition VI in labview, but when I run it in Vbai, there is no image output to be processed.

  How do I

  (a) make the Image of Aquire GigE "keeps" do not overwrite certain perameters or

  (b) acquire an image in Labview and "transmit" to Vbai for treatment

  It seems to me that the ability to control the settings of the camera of the user interface is a basic function, but I can't seem to find a way to make it work.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

  There should be no problem switching between inspections that have the stages of acquisition. Looks like you had an inspection that set the rate of line using a run a LabVIEW VI and I would bet that the session didn't get cleaned properly in the VI you run so when you changed an inspection which attempted to use this camera, the camera was still in use in the LabVIEW that does not have the session closes correctly. I would recommend standard VBAI doing to interact with cameras and then it won't be a problem.  When the new step comes out, it will be much easier / cleaner to fix in VBAI.

• How to convert FLIR gray Image to a map of temperature in NI VBAI

  I worked with an infrared camera FLIR A315 and software VBAI of NEITHER.  I need determine the presence and continuity of a hot mastic foam which has been injected into the hollow bulb of a bead attached to 4 adjacent places that flow together inside the bulb of weatherstripping to form a continuous rubber scoured the filler plug.

  So far, I was able to trigger image acquisition in VBAI from a FLIR infrared camera monitoring the status bit an Allen-Bradley PLC.   Communication with the camera FLIR A315 is via the IMAQdx GigE driver.  However, I did not understand how to determine the temperatures of the gray scale images I get from the FLIR camera.  I wonder if someone could give me some advice on how to do it.

  I have attached a few images below to illustrate what I work with and to what extent I'm away.

  • iPhone_Photo.jpg - shows a photograph of the stripping section that the FLIR infrared camera is 'looking '.
  • FLIR_IR_Monitor.jpg - a screenshot of a FLIR Infrared Monitor utility that shows the temperatures measured at a number of points and areas (showing that it is possible)

  So, I am part of the path, but so far have not found a way to map the image of gray-scale that VBAI acquires the infrared camera FLIR in a heat map where I can determine the temperatures - and would be grateful for the help on how to do it.

  Image provided by the FLIR camera are unsigned 16-bit.

  According to the temperature scale FLIR selected (10mK or 100mK), you have to divide by a factor of 10 or 100 to get the values of K. Do not select Exit radiometric.

  If your object is cold, the population of the histogram of the image will be on the left side of it and if the object is hot, the population of the histogram will be on the right side.

  If you want that your values of temperature in degrees Celsius, just add 273.15 Kelvin value.

  Then you can add a color palette in VBAI (iron FLIR is available)

• Buffer of image in VBAI

  I'm working on a project with 3 cameras on a turntable. 2 of them is at the same station and are triggered with a sensor. And the third is at another station, triggered with the second sensor.

  The problem is that we cannot control the flow of the game in this table at a constant rate. There are problems of synchronization of image acquisition and to know which picture belongs to which product. To avoid this, we need a model of programming that is capable of storing images, and after this process, the images based on their image number, so we can know images belong to same product. Although I haven't used buffering before, I think that this design can be implemented using queues in Labview.

  I couldn't find a way to do this in VBAI. I would like to get images from different cameras and evokes these images based on their chassis and process numbers. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

  That's what each picture is for. Once the inspection has loaded and acquire you and process the first image of the camera has, when you get to the stage of acquisition for camera B, even if the camera B has returned 3 images, the step will return the premiera. The other images are buffered by the pilot and the second image is returned on the next call, still more recent images were acquired.

  I'm doing some tests on some materials. My cycles configuration a relay to change a solenoid and im monitor pressure in time with a pressure sensor. I'd like to save these data say every 5 min so im not constantly processing and registration. I don't know what is the best approach, or what will work best.

  Im trying to write to the file of measure but can't operate the id of path as him. any help is appreciated

  Have you tried to use the "flower?" entry on writing to measurement file Express VI?  This entry to specify when LabVIEW writes data to a file of measures.

  I use a camera ID UI - 5490 RE (GigE) with LabView and the Acquisition Wizard. It works very well, and in the wizard, I can control what I like.

  But outside this VI express, there is no controls to adjust the exposure for example. I can't logging only select prefix path and image?

  I just did some tests and noticed that if you select continuous Acquisition instead of a single Acquisition, you get the ability to add the attributes of the camera controls.

  You want to stick with a single Acquisition, you can either simply define the condition of the end of the while loop around life-long to true if you need to work with the low-level functions.

  However, in this case, I would recommend setting up an acquisition continues with the desired controls and by converting the VI Express generated a Subvi (right click "Front view").

  Then use this as a starting point for your own Configuration of Acquisition.

• Camera GigE of NI VBAI lost packets

  We run VBAI on a fast PC with an Intel Pro/1000 card and a switch GigE of jumbo-frame to a large number of Basler Ace GigE cameras.

  It is understandable that multiple cameras cannot transfer complete images to the PC to the full flow of 1000 MHz because of the limited bandwidth between the PC and the Switch simultaneously.

  A way around this is to strangle the maximum for each camera down data flow so that the sum is not greater than 1,000 MHz.

  However, this means that transfers images always take more time, even if only a single camera to enter service, a large part of the time.

  What is a fundamental limitation of GigE Vision, or are smart enough work as soon as possible of the GigE Vision cameras... via returns package loses casual?

  We have found a solution.

  The problem is that the cameras, switch, network card and VisionBuiilder cannot treat all cases where more than one camera sends images to VisionBuilder where the total of the rates of data for these cameras is never more than 1 GB of band bandwidth network card.

  (It would be nice if someone did a network switch that has a little more package buffer memeory...) 100 MB?... so that the images of the garbage does not have the occasional collision while allowing most of the captures operate at maximum speed.)

  Solution:

  (1) we have added 3 ports on network 1 Gb additional to our pc of mink.

  (2) in order to redistribute traffic camera in more than one network port, we assigned to each network adapter and corresponding cameras, to a different subnet.

  (3) we have lowered the rate of data for less urgent cameras.

  Even after the lowering of the data rates for multiple cameras in NOR-MAX up to 200 Mb/s such as lost packets should no longer be possible, we stil seen.

  After a detailed examination, we found that the stages of acquisition image VisionBuilder are not careful the data rates that you assign to NOR-MAX and always default to 1000 MB/s maximum rate, so saturated flow and lost packets.

  The solution to this problem proves to be explicitly set to the flow desired in each stage of the acquisition of Image VisionBuilder, using the attributes tab.  While you're there, you should also check other critical parameters, such as the packet size, are also correct and update if not.

  After you explicitly fix rates given in every stage of image acquisition, we ran a stress test of capture image that ran all the process of vision (several programs running at the same time) about 10 times faster than necessary and observed no lost in all packets.

  Problem solved.

• Acquisition of data not found no supported devices

  I'm new to Labview, and I make a tutorial learn step by step. I have nothing plugged with the PC.   I have to do this exercise. EX1.

  When I set the properties of the DAQ Assistant (Signal gain > analog input > Voltaje) the message "no device supported found" appears.  I looked on the automation of measurement & > devices & Interfaces and data acquisition does not appear. I read it to appear, but I don't know, because I have nothing plugged, how I said before.

  Since you have the DAQ Assistant, you obviously have installed DAQmx. What you can do then is to simulate a DAQ hardware. Just open MAX (Measurement and Automation Explorer), klick "devices and Interfaces" then the button create new marked in the picture below. Follow the instructions in the dialog as apperas. I don't know what card you should use, but any M-series you should see you through. All AI channels will give you a standard sine wave and all lines of DI will alternate between high and low.

  We use VBAI 2012, 2012 CVI and Basler ACE camera for the inspection of vision. We want to start a VBAI CVI inspection. Meanwhile, we can start and stop an inspection of the CVI. But it is not possible to obtain a picture of the CVI. We do not know why.

  Try to check the box that says "Display the resulting Image" just above the market on the right. I think that this could be the problem... If do not display you the image, we have not an image back to you. Step using the GUID for the acquisition stage would also work. Let us know if this is the case and I can have is Knowledge Base.

• VBAI crashes when you use NiViAsrl.dll

  I hope that's not too a noob question...

  Suddenly last week, without any warning, VBAI would no longer start.  All my versions of VBAI had the same failure.  At the launch of the splash screen would declare "Initializing Plug-ins: nnnnnnn ' then" Validation Plug-ins "... and that's it.  He would just sit there, spinning my pointer mouse until a message box proclaimed "NI Vision Builder nnnn has stopped working".  The poor man never exceeded the start screen.  It did not matter what version I ran.  I tried 3.6, SP1 2009, 2010 and 2011 SP1, all had the same symptom.  I uninstalled them.  I have them re-installed.  The same problem.

  In Control Panel, I checked the event viewer, looking to learn more about the error.  Here is a list of errors have occurred within 10 seconds of the accident:

  -Event 3 is a mystery to me.  The file is there, it is 79KB and was created 24/06/2010, but I don't know what he does.

  The problem is the ini file NIvisa THAT MAX has been reading.

  I deleted the ports of

  C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\NIvisa\visaconf.ini

  Restarted

  And everything is cool.

  -That means THAT VBAI 2011 SP1 does not lock up when it starts.

  The two visaconf.ini files are attached to the inside of the. Zippers

  This problem has been noticed on June 29, note so when the software has been uninstalled in the report.  As part of my initial diagnosis that I took out the biggest dog I could find and remove all versions of the VBAI and all vision tools and tried to repair the drivers of devices August 2011 and tried to install the device drivers Feb 2012 and re VBAI 2011 SP1.  I must again rebuild acquisition vision (etc.).

  A the knowledge base article was useful for finding the location of the ini file.
