VCS Expressay

Hello

I have a few doubts about VCS:

(1) control VCS and Expressay can run on the Virtual Machine? 2

(2) when the VCS was running a physical server, it has two networks interfaces one within the network and others you can put on the DMZ? How can I do this on VMware?

Concerning

Leonardo Santana

The virtual VCS presents itself as an OVA, it is a based on linux, you can deploy on your own hosting VMWare hardware as long that you meet the technical requirements as stated on the link in my previous post.

Share and control the way Express the same EGG file, so when you first install the VCS, either a control or a highway, it will initially as a control.  What it turns into an expressway is an option key "fast track."  When you buy a highway of VCS, you will get this option button.  There are separate numbers for each type of VCS, the part numbers for the virtual server are: control (R-VMVCS-CTRL-K9) and highway (R-VMVCS-EXPWY-K9).

  • Control in neighborhoods with VCS Expressway rule

    Hello everyone.

I wonder if VCS Expressay made a sort of control in the nearby areas.

For example: I want to restrict the neighboring area to perform not more than 2 simultaneous calls.

    Best regards

You can restrict the overall bandwidth used for these calls, but not strictly the number of calls.

For example, if your bandwidth standard appeal for your organization is 768 Kbps and you want only 2 calls is nearby at the same time, you create a pipe which has a limit of 1536 kbps total bandwidth and ask the hose for the link to this neighbor.  Links and tips is all two found in a VCS Configuration--> menu of bandwidth.

  • Interoperability VCS control and Expressay - various versions

    Hi team,

We settled on a client control VCS about 6 months. The customer has decided to buy, after this period, VCS highway as well.

The version of VCS is x7.2 control and we are already in the version x8.2.1.

    My question is:

There is some incompatibility between the VCS control version x 7 and VCS Expressway in x 8 version?

    Best regards

VCS X7.2.x and X8.x backward compatibility were considered in depth since the published software X 8.  The following discussion is the latest X8.2 version that resolves the compatibility between versions X 7 and X 8 of the VCs.

  • Question about the design of VCS-C/VCS-E

    Hello

Customer has no DMZ. So, what are my options to configure a deployment of VCS-C/VCS-E?

How is it I could reach the goal that VCSC and VCSe contact area of neighbor?

Do I need to assign an internal IP address (without static nat) and LAN2 in also an IP address in-house with NAT static external IP LAN1.

Prerequisite for which is 'Dual touch Option NIC', no?

At the moment I have no double key Option of NIC, then the only way in my deployment is the DMZ preffered way, right? Or make me another option?

    Concerning

    Thorsten

Well, in this case, you can have the VCS-E in public, VCS - C behind the firewall and an area between the two.

You can increase the security nat'ing and with who use dual NICs on the VCS-E option.

I also either turn off or at least to block SSH on VCS-E to the public.

  • Cisco VCS and integration Lync2013

    Hello!

Could you tell me please, when CISCO officially support Lync2013 - free new software for VCS - C and documentation on integration?

The main interest is the possibility of transferring video between CISCO/MCU and Lync endpoints on the H.264 Protocol, who hails from Lync2013.

Right now, I've got VCS - C and RTM Lync2013 X7.2. During the video call without AMGW appeal established as audio only.

When using with Lync2010, it worked on Protocol H.263 and CIF resolution.

    Evgeniy salvation,

We are currently investigating the possibilities to achieve interoperability between Lync 2013, VCS and video devices on the side of the VCS standards-based, it is a work in progress and at this stage, it is to early to provide any factual information on when interop will be available.

In contrast to Lync 2010, Lync 2013 does not support H.263 for video and it so that will remove the OCS/Lync integration. I do however think that you should be able to make a two-way video between Lync 2013 and VCS-joined endpoints if you use an AMGW tried that yet?

    Thank you

  • VCS followed Analyzer?

    Greetings,

Is it possible within the VCS C or E, call records for billing and calls for performance analysis. I work in the health field and I want to keep track of the devices registered to the guards and how long it was a call if everything was done. Is there a way to retreat this type of information on the VCS logs somehow to push to a .csv file?

VCS is not a way to generate reports, you must use something like TMS for this.  To keep track of what endpoints are registered in the VCS, there is no report to do this, so you will need to check active listings and history of the markings on the VCS itself.  For CDR data, as long as the VCS or endpoints are added to the MSD, you can generate a report > Call Detail Record.

  • Restricting calls between a subarea and specific extensions on Cisco VCS

Hello, I use Cisco VCS 8.5.3, my goal is to restrict calls between a subarea and specific extensions.
    I tried following solutions:

    1. Download of XML strategy
    2. Use of political appeal web interface in order to limit calls

    XML file:

But when I apply the XML file, or try using the web simple rule (for example: 11111 12222 destination source, dismiss the action) I'm still able to place the call to 11111 to 12222.

What can be the cause of the problem and what else can I try to be able to prohibit calls between a particular Subzone and exentions?

Attached, is an example of CPL script that should work.  Using this script, CPL, I was able to block calls to a subarea set to a destination alias located in the subzone of default and was always able to call any other end point in the default subfield without problem.  Note that you must enter the name of the subarea, as you have configured on the VCS, including spaces if they exist.

The scenario is based on the example of CPL "limiting access to a local gateway" X8.5 VCS Administrator's Guide on pg 413, other documents of CPL reference and examples can be seen starting on pg 410.

  • VCS X8.1 search fields

Updated our VCS to X8.1 according to the TAC suggests perhaps a problem and noticed that the search boxes on the registration pages are gone.  Haven't checked the other pages, but noticed when I went to see if someone has been registered on this page for you.  Without the search fields, find a record can get heavy if you have lots of records.

    Anyone else notice?

Hi Patrick, I checked our internal documentation and the X 8 release notes, and I don't see this mentioned as intentional.  I filed the bug No. CSCun57539 to describe this withdrawal and ask for the updated documentation to reflect that if it was on purpose.

  • Control of VCS and VCS expressway design

I have a problem with the design of control and track Express VCS. Now, here's two VCS control and a highway. As you know, put on the Internet Highway and a control on my seat. At the same time, I want to put the other control on the management of my company which is in another city. Can it work correctly? How dose it work?

You must create two zones on VCS Expressway crossing server and a customer journey area by control VCS.

In other words, you should have a link path by VCS - C connection VCS-E separately.

Please be sure to set different H.323/SIP port on each VCS - C.

    For example:

VCS - C1 (Headquarters): area of traversal client pointing to VCS-E 6001 as port H323 and SIP traversal port 7001.

VCS - C2 (branch): area of traversal client pointing to VCS - E with 6002 as port H323 and SIP traversal port 7002.

VCS-E: a traversal server zone list for VCS - C1 (6001 as port H323 and SIP traversal port 7001) and other traversal server list for VCS - C2 (6002 as port H323 and SIP traversal port 7002)

  • Jabber client - encryption of VCS Expressway with MRA

    Hi all

I'm working on the implementation of MRA for a video solution existing. Version CUCM is 9.1.2 (no IM & P server), vcs - c and vcs-e 8.2.2.  Client Jabber is 11.5.x

I finished most of the introduction and I am able to call internally and externally through MRA.

I still have a few things to tweak.  One is the encryption of video calling once jabber connects from outside.  From my understanding, the thigh jabber call end point and VCS Expressway uses TLS. But when I run wireshark on the PC with Jabber client, I don't see the RTP stream as being encrypted.

CUCM my jabber device does not use a secure profile.  Is it ok or not?

Please let me know if more are needed.  Thank you

You can confirm the call is encrypted from the client of jabber MRA by doing as follows (I used 11.5 jabber client, if you are using an older client, I can't guarantee this method):

    1. make a call from the client jabber ARM, once the call is configured and media is established, you can end the call.
    2. create a jabber client problem report (help > report a problem...)
    3. Enter the required details and save the .zip file.
4 extract the file "jabber.log" from the .zip file. Since this file (at least since the version of client jabber 11.5) has the SIP messaging included in this document, you can use TranslatorX to view the file (you can also use a text editor if you wish).
5 generate a diagram of the log file.

    6. in the diagram of the scale, you should be able to locate the origin of the call. Search for an invitation, in my case a "RE-INVITE" and select it. A pop-up window will appear with the details of the SIP message.

    7. read the content of the message prompt of the SIP protocol (focusing on the SDP - the component of negotiating media). I won't go into detail about how to read SIP messages (there's a good article here, it is not for jabber specifically, but the same concepts apply).

    8. close the prompt message and open the message 'OK w/SDP' to examine the response of the VCS-E. The SDP response, we can confirm that the encryption settings have been accepted for the media (media will be encrypted).

For re - apply point Jamie, unless you run CUCM in mixed mode and using security profiles, signalling/media encryption stops on the thigh of CUCM/endpoint and the VCS - C respectively. See the diagram below for reference (mixed mode not implemented).

You need not applied to the device of CSF security profiles to obtain the encryption between the client of jabber MRA and the VCS-E. If you can decode signaling and media packets in Wireshark your jabber client, you probably will not connect via ARM (ARM is always encrypted).

Please let us know if that helps.

What is c? A hacker trying to invade my VCS?

This highway of VCS is in a public IP address, with the disabled SSH, HTTPS is only allowed.

In a manner of speaking, possibly.  These are due to having you activated automatic detection.  The IP address 127.0.0.1 is always "self."  The VCS is simply the recording of hack attempts.  You can see the numbers from 0 to 1, 4 or 5, etc., as attempted access failures are recorded.  It depends on what you have set up in the automated detection of which is controlled, and eventually be blocked in case of several events in the detection window.  You will need to look at your configuration and possibly other newspapers to determine if a real intrusion event occurs.

  • Question of VCS rehost keys/transfer option

    • Customer SCV was RMA and purchased options reheberges/transferred orig keys. SN to the new replacement.
    • Orig. VCS is still in Production.

Question: Will impact entering the option on the new replacement buttons and put online the original aircraft still in production?

This will not affect anything, keys options that were transferred from the VCS failed the new one does not reference the old device somehow.  The process of transfer/rehost just allows you to get even or like keys options for your replacement that matches the old device you send to Cisco.

You will also need to contact the vendor or whoever the service contracts were purchased through them for having updated to take account of the RAM, so the old serial number may be replaced by a new one, you have received.  This process occurs automatically when a RMA or rehost is finished.

  • What VCS Expressway buy

    Advanced thanks.

    I currently have a VCS control 8.7.1(CE 1100) device.

I need to buy a highway for in and external outgoing calls.

What Expressway buy, C or E E. seems the right choice, but I would be sure.

    Thank you

If you already have a VCS - C, then you need to buy a VCS-E, refer to the VCS data sheet for more information.  Because you already have a VCS - C running on the CE1000 device, if you want the VCS-E to run on it's own CE1000 camera well, you'll want VCS-E-ORL-K9 part number.  You also have the ability to run your VCS-E in the form of a virtual appliance with VMWare, the part number is R-VMVCS-EXPWY-K9.

  • VCS-E in VMware

    Hi all

Successfully, I downloaded and installed VCS - C in server VM C210. I read there are VCS-E VM image, but I could not find in the download software.  Is any file VCS-E OVA or ISO available?

    Thank you

    Alex

VM - VCS with demo license (3 registration, course 1 call and 1 non-traversal call) is currently available only VCS-control.

VM-VCS-Expressway, to purchase Expressway option and install similarly as other key option on VCS that converts the VM - VCS Expressway (activate Expressway on it).
