W550s UltraDock DisplayPort questions

Hello

I have a question where the DisplayPort will be released only to put a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1440. I have an external monitor Samsung UHD U28D590D, who runs the resolution of 4 k (3840 x? @60 Hz). If I plug the monitor to aid the UltraDock DisplayPort, my max resolution is 2560 x 1440. However, if I use a HDMI cable, the max resolution is as advertised (3840 x? @29 Hz)

I tried to update all the drivers on the W550s on the lates, updated the bios and installed the monitor recent inf file.

I need the 4k@60Hz DisplayPort to work, as that is why I bought this machine! I know the display adapter supports... it seems to be simply a matter of DIsplayPort/UltraDock... but I could be wrong.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • U3014 DisplayPort question - fixed

    Hello

I'm running the revision A03. Today the DisplayPort stopped working with my companion of Wacom Cintiq tablet. Everything was good 2 days ago. All other connections to work. I guess that I write mainly because of my frustration in trying to pass technical support. First person I spoke with barely spoke English (horrible accent they transferred me to someone else which required about a 35 minute wait.) They told me that my monitor is licensed in the Canada (I bought at B & H in New York about 3 months ago) and it will register here in the United States with a different REP Got on to this rep and they said they couldn't do anything to return to a technician. Waiting for 45 minutes, then their cutting line. So, now, I tried to go online through a chat but the monitor is registered abroad (Canada), so can't do anything there. I think it's the cable. Just doing my own technical service and buy a new cable to see if it works. The thing is, the monitor records a connection but keeps going to sleep mode so, not sure that the cable is the culprit.

    Thank you

    Chris

You need to "register" the serial number U3014 using this form. It may take up to 20 business days to complete.

    * Disconnect each cable from the bottom and side of the screen (including the power cord)
    * Press and hold the button of power monitor for 8 seconds
    * Reconnect power cord to the bottom of the screen
    * Turn on the monitor and the Tablet
    * Connect the DP from Dell to the CDM cable from the left most DP in the port (nearest the power cord) on the monitor to the out port of the Tablet AMD
    * Press the entry button (3rd from the top) screen and choose entry DisplayPort

  • DisplayPort XB270HU questions - 'No Signal'

    Hey, Acer.

I just bought a XB270HU monitor. I was really excited, because I had also bought a new GeForce 980 TI video card to get the best out of the 144 Hz that this monitor can support. (Also, you know, G-SYNC.)

So, I was very disappointed when I started having problems DisplayPort.

When I turn on my computer, the video works fine, but as soon as Windows starts loading, I see a 'No Signal' message. (This happens even on three DP connectors, this isn't a problem with a defective port). From what I found online, this seems to be a known issue with the graphics chips from NVidia Maxwell and DisplayPort monitors. (And my graphics card worked perfectly when I used a DVI monitor with her for the past two weeks.)

However, were a few times where I got my monitor to work:
    1. with another monitor connected to the DVI port on my video card. However, when I unplugged my DVI monitor, my XB270HU has stopped working immediately. I have reproduced twice.
    2. the very first time I used each of the three DP channels on my video card. The first time I used my monitor with DP #1, it worked. I was even able to play games. But after I restarted my computer (and turned to my monitor and the new), DP #1 did not work. I then plugged my monitor DP #2, and yet once again, it worked, until I rebooted. Same thing with DP #3.

I'm inclined to believe that this is a problem with my video card (and probably a handshake problem), since I noticed others problems solved with a new BIOS from their card provider. And I already have a support ticket with ASUS (my graphic card provider). But I also wanted to reach out to the Acer support to see if you've found a compatible solution yet. Maybe there is something in a newer version of the firmware that can answer this, or plant something in the menu. I'm willing to try almost anything, so I'll cross my fingers and hope you have a few ideas.

So, I have an update, but it is not super satisfying.

I've since sold this monitor. Is running, when it is connected to a reference EVGA GTX 980, it works perfectly. No DP 'No Signal' no questions, no interaction with other ports on the back of the weird video card. No doubt which means that there is something wrong with some Maxwell maps (GTX 9 x 0 series). I guess I could have RMAed my 980 Ti and obtained without this problem, or switched to an EVGA card that entitled vBIOS installed. It is therefore not the monitor. Or not entirely screen.

I don't know if subsequent revisions of this monitor did anything at their end to alleviate the problems of handshake of DP, or if it should be on the side of graphics card. But I'm here to say that, in this case, the monitor does not seem to have had the problem.

  • Question of P500 with 2nd external display via displayport

    Hello.

I have a Thinkstation P500 with a Nivida Quadro K2200 running Ubuntu 14.04 - I have tried plugging in an additional screen via a Displayport-to-DVI dongle. I downloaded and installed the latest 346,96 drivers from Nvidia and when hang it to the top of the screen 2, can be seen on both the Nvidia X Server Settings (which I saved him), application of the system display and I can actually moved my cursor of mouse 'off screen' in the 2nd monitor - it's just that there is no signal at all from to the 2nd monitor... Running 'xrandr' shows that the 2nd monitor is connected via port DP-1...

    Is this a BIOS problem?

Any help/pointers/suggestions/sarcastic useful comments received with gratitude...

    Aaron.

Hi psuturtle, thanks for getting back to me on this...

Bought separately, it's a StarTechcom DP - DVI dongle - must be something 'obvious' like that everything is working as if its there (and it's running I hasten to add).

I'll give it a shot and hope for the best.

  • Question T540p Ultradock sound via HDMI & fwdphb03 do not launch

My problem is that when I am connected with the t540p to the ultradock this noise comes from the local speakers instead of via the HDMI cable if the monitor and then through my external speaker which are way better.

Audio playback devices I wrote: 'High definietyion Audio Device not connected. So I tried to connect directly via portable computers mindpoit for the monitor and then it worked. But as soon as I have it plugged into the docking station, which is connected to the same monitor via the DVI then the result is not plugged.

So I tried the station dock firmware upgrade by downloading the latest firmware fwdphb03, and it does not start in spite of being connected to the docking station and using an external monitor and correctly connected.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Sp1k3

    FIXED;

So I removed the NVIDIA drivers and all its software. I had to remove the reboot, remove once again, and then restart. Then and only then, I installed the latest drivers for lenovo download site and then the audio via HDMI becomes visible, and it works again.

I've yet to update the firmware of the docking station. If anyone can help with this?

  • T410 - question external displayport monitor

    Hello
I have problem with my T410. I connected external monitor (HP LP2475w) on displayport. All right until I wake my NB to suspend. After I wake up, I have to move the mouse (or press a key) to get an image (like the monitor has been turned off). But then the image is corrupt. On the entire display, I can see only one small piece of the center of the image (typically image and password login field on the login screen of W7). It is not a bad resolution, only very zoomed image. I have to unplug the displayport cable, open the cover, plug in the cable and close the cover. After is fine image, once again, but the procedure is very annoying. It doesn't matter if I connected directly to the NB or dock. Also it takes place the same problem when I got to the top of the closure of the monitor in poster options of the control panel.

    Anyone know the solution?

    Thank you.

Finally, I realized, that the problem is in the monitor. Switching/DVI solved.

  • Question of OptiPlex 790 Displayport

I have an Optiplex 790 and am setting up two monitors.  Two monitors are DVI and VGA inputs.  My 790 has a VGA and Displayport output.  I have the standard VGA cable and it works very well on both monitors.  I also have a Displayport adapter to DVI with a DVI cable.  When I have this hook to each monitor receive nothing.  The monitor is just like it does when it is not connected.  I tested the Displayport adapter and cable on the anther, put in place that works fine so I know the cables work.  In the video settings, it is only showing that I have a monitor.  Any help would be great.

    Thank you

I reinstalled my video driver. But I also had a bad adapter Displayport to DVI.

  • EliteBook 8460p: DisplayPort does not connect

I connected my new HD monitor via the VGA input with no problems.  When I connect the laptop to the monitor using a DisplayPort adapter to DisplayPort cable and the monitor DisplayPort mode no connection is established.  My graphics cards are DameWare Development mirror driver 64 bit and Radeon HD 6470 M.  The monitor is an ASUS VE278Q. Is there a setting on the laptop that I need to activate the DisplayPort?  I guess that the cable connection should be sufficient for the monitor to the laptop.  Any help is very appreciated!

    Hello pmoo,.

I have also an Elitebook 8460p (AMD Radeon HD 6470 M GPU) running Windows 7 (Enterprise), with an external HP 2511 x, LCD and * only * crossed a sceanrio simliar you did: I had problems to get a picture on my monitor when connected with a HDMI cable.

To clarify, I actually use a docking advanced (230W) which has connections 2DVI & 2DisplayPort at the rear; I use one of these DisplayPort connections with a DisplayPort-> HDMI dongle to connect my HDMI cable to the monitor. If you connect directly to DP your laptop, this behavior * should * be the same...

First of all, let me start by how I 'fixed' my question (your mileage may vary):

    1. I still think that it was a timing issue with me: the monitor and the laptop should be ISOLATED. Connect the cables; Turn on the laptop first, but make sure that the lid is CLOSED. THEN turn the monitor on.
    2. Have the most recent drivers can't hurt; Make sure that you install them before connecting the external monitor.
    3. CABLES CABLES CABLES!   Always check the wiring and try another HDMI cable if you have one.
    4. Make sure the connections themselve are nice and safe: in my case, the HDMI connection on the monitor was a bit sloppy (brand new monitor).
    5. And just stick to it... (im also confused as to why it took so long... > I spent 4 or 5 hours until what it worked..).

Now, let me detail that I got here:

My connections: I had my system & monitor off, and after removing my my docking station DVI connector and the monitor, I plugged my DisplayPort dongle to my dockign and plugged the dongle to the monitor using a HDMI cable. I fed my monitor & notebook (with cover open notebook in case I had to update the drivers, activate something, etc.).

Tried to activate the mointor: I right click on the desktop to open the control/display panel / 'Screen Resolution' UI and interpreted by "detect": nothing: he showed the "integrated monitor' for the laptop and a generic monitor, but I don't see my monitor HP 2511. I have done several times, and finally, after some trial and error the right monitor #2 (HP 2511) appeared as a second monitor.

I tried to "Extend desktop" for two monitors; but this only * partially * worked; I could see that the mointor received a signal because she was out of 'sleep' (the power light went from orange to blue (active))... but there is no image on the monitor (!)

I've then updated the software and drivers for my laptop for the latest news from hp.com for laptop (3.20 - 130911 A - 164036 C (20 December 2013):)

Note: "solves a problem where the system does not detect external displays properly when the system is connected to a docking station with 2 attached external displays and the lid is closed the system."

Well, I said: nothing to see new drivers... so I installed them.

However, even after installing the drivers, no. picture on the screen... I saw that it was getting a signal (did not sleep), but does not display anything.

NOTE: I did this with my laptop open cover...

I have so I checked the wiring; Brand new DisplayPort HDMI cable...... quite new dongle so I reversed the HDMI cable, tried another cable...

    Yet, nothing...

    Finally:

    • Back to the 'screen resolution' UI, this time I made sure that the Office was NOT extended to the #2 monitor (external monitor).
    • I have powered off the COAST of the external Mointor (I could here the PnP event for the monitor).
    • I have closed the lid of the laptop.
    • Double check all connections again (and again! they are capricious!).
    • I then On the external Monitor; I heard the PnP event for the monitor... and... PHOTO!  The external mointor now had an image.

I hope this helps... it of just me and not of HP.

  • Tecra M11-103 - mini displayport doesn't seem to work

I posted a question, but it was published, and I think that I misunderstood.
So I'll try to ask better now...

I own a Tecra M11-103 it has both a vga port/bus (I'm not sure what to call it) and a mini displayport.
Everything worked fine until, in the middle of watching TV (laptop was connected to the TV via hdmi adapter mini displayport has) something was wrong, and since then the port is not identified... the vga port works fine but the mini displayport simply ceased to recognize each time a cable is plugged...

How can I reinstall the port itself?
I tried to reinstall the display driver, but it did not help, I thought maybe reinstalling the chipset utility, but I don't know what this means and what is the danger...

If my question is still not clear please help me go the more accurate information...
    Thank you
    Etty

  • Question about performance.

    Hello

    So I have a mbpr 15 "end 2013
    2.6 i7 quad
    16 gb 1600 mhz

Gforce NIVIDA 750 (2 GB gpu)

    Update on everything

I use 2 Dell u2515H on full resolution as resolution 2560 x 1440, the macbook is in clamshellmode, and I connect just like this
1 TB to a thunderbolt dock

1 TB as displayport towards each other.

My macbook is running like crazy fans and I do nothing, I tried to adjust the 1080 displays or something less, but fans are always warping.

My old macbook pro could run two screens with no problems, the fans only hit when I started working.

Surely the gpu should be able to handle this.

And Yes, I plug in the charger, connect the thunderbolts and then press my keyboard to go real clamshell.

Any help would be received with joy.

    The best

It may be a question if this is normal or not.  Install a temperature/speed control application.  When this phenomenon occurs, post a picture of the temperature/fan speed.

You could also run some Diagnostics of Apple:

Meeting in a bar in engineering of the Apple store for a FREE evaluation is also a good option.

  • Tecra A11 - Video No. via mini DisplayPort

    Hello

I recently bought a mini DisplayPort-> HDMI cable to use with my Tecra A11 Notebook. My intention was to run two external displays by running a cable VGA for my LG W2242 monitor and run the mini DP to HDMI Cable to my HP 2509 m Monitor. Unfortunately, I can't get my HP Monitor to recognize the video Signal from the mini DIsplayPort.

I downloaded the latest drivers for my laptop, but still no luck. Is there something special I should do to get the mini DisplayPort to send a video Signal?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Landon

Now to maybe stupid question, but where did you get the info that you can use two video output ports at the same time? What is this described in manuals s?

In front of me, I have Tecra A11 - 19 M and would like to know how to use it. as far as I know that a single external display can be used with this laptop.

  • Tecra M11 - 120 Mini Displayport to HDMI

    Hey there...
I received my new laptop and bought a HDMI adapter mini display port.
On my television, I asked the connector, so I made to the map.
I also introduced the option in windows 7, I would like to ampilfy my TV, screen went black.
then I tried only to use television as the main screen, it worked only the solution of 800 x 640 pixels.

Can you please tell me, what am I doing wrong? Mini Displayport is expected to be able to perform the Full HD 1080 p. And I only wanted to 1360 x 786.

    Welcome them

    >.. .She works perfectly with my pc monitor (LG), but not with my TV (MEDION), it could be something wrong with her as well.
I agree with you. From this sentence we port the most important information about your laptop work properly. Why you don't have pic on your TV is another question.

Check the settings of your TV. Perhaps something to be activated it.

  • T540p / T440p + UltraDock + external display issues

    Hello

I am having trouble with the t540p in the UltraDock.

    I have a Setup with 3 screens:

    -internal

    -external on DVI

    -external on DisplayPort
The more external are connected to the UltraDock.

I had the problem, that the external monitor on the blanks of DVI ports frequently (about every 15 minutes) for 2-3 seconds.

Less frequently (about once every 1-2 hours) all white external monitors for 5 to 10 seconds and you can hear the Windows sound in the speakers to disconnect and reconnect the devices.

Another anomaly is that when I use the t540p without the docking station (but a power supply connected) the screen fades until the "battery level" from time to time, I discovered (also only for a few seconds) and the battery symbol changes from "operation network" to "battery operation" so that the light is dimmed.

In this case the two power supplies (that comes with the t540p and that comes with the UltraDock)

Maybe these effects could be linked somehow?

Anyone of you knows the same problems or got any idea what could be the problem here?

    Best regards

    André

  • Problem opening of W550S

Just today, I took delivery of a W550S, which intends to update some components myself.

However, I can't have the screws at the front left and right out. All the screws were barely narrowed and turned with the minimum pressure. It is also the case with the two screws that will not return.

I've never had to apply ANY pressure, screw turn freely, heads look pristine, but they will not support. It feels as if the threads are stripped. I'm reluctant to get "creative" with it on a new machine, because it would be difficult to prove the problem was not caused by a mistake of the user and therefore not covered by the warranty.

Everyone here encounter a similar problem?

Managed to get it open. The two screws in question had not been all tight to the factory, which threw me off.

  • Help, please! Intel graphics hd 4000/nvidia k2000m questions

Hey guys, I'll have two both of my graphics (intel HD 4000 + nvidia k2000m) first of all I am a musician and I run a recording software (avid protools) off the w530. for some reason, I'm having problems using a secondary monitor... The computer is not output any signal through the vga port or mini HD on the graphics card intel HD 4000... I tried to hit win + p to activate the option of mutiple monitor, I updated the driver of 4000 intel HD and still no signal output... so when I switch to the k2000m, everything works perfectly... both vga and mini HD port works, but for some strange reason, I get cpu overload in my burning software... Almost if the computer longer hard using the k2000m... Idk if this is a driver issue, but I really need the dual monitor working in my w530 function... Any ideas or suggestions to solve these two problems. Thank you

    Hi Mpcsauce,

Welcome to the forums. All external monitors are dictated by the discreet displayport graphics card from Nvidia, such as the VGA and mini ports are physically connected to this card. Therefore, integrated graphics card Intel can only go out to screen integrated notebook (Nvidia card can do, if force you it in the BIOS).

The best thing to do is to make sure that the graphic card in the BIOS settings is set to "NVIDIA Optimus", given that the laptop switches between card Intel and Nvidia, providing the best combination of performance and battery life. Your second question is strange, but I would like to begin by updating the drivers on the K2000m.
