Windows 8.1 Ralink 3290 problems

Just to make this short, I've already read about most of the Ptolemec forums and other questions people have posted about a similar question however nothing, I've read so far has managed to solve the problem I have.

I have a laptop of HP ENVY 15 TS. Running windows 8.1 64-bit. I have the Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn Wi - Fi adapter and have used the (Ralink 802.11 wireless card - Ralink Technology, Corp. driver.  (- 5.00.37.0000) is the "BOLD", the current driver im using I tried upgrading to the latest driver, but it does not work, it could not connect to my network in fact he couldn't find all the networks at all.

I had this problem for a certain time orriginally assuming that it was a problem with my router or modem so I replaced the but the problem continues, so I turned on the forums to see if the problem was more then just me and low and behold its happending to many people.

If any additional information is needed please let me know.

Simply put at - it something that will finally solve this problem?

Cheers - Brandon

Try this first:

http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp58501-59000/sp58586.exe

If not work try this:

http://www.MediaTek.com/en/downloads/?sort=date

These cards have problems with connecting and many users had reported the same problem.

At present, Intel and Broadcom is the best and no problems at all except if no driver not installed.

  • Satellite L650 - Windows detected a hard disk problem

I have 9 as 4 months old satellite L650 that this microsoft Windows message keeps popping up. "Windows detected a hard disk problem, back up your files immediately to prevent the loss of information... etc" have I not a bum hard drive or is it a mistake?
    I have
have the media discs to recover and this means that I have to reformat the HARD drive and try again. !

    Hi watthhel,

I think the error message must be correct to Windows 7 and you must do what tells you the message: immediately back up your data and replace the HARD drive with a new one. In your case I would never save important files on the HARD drive. Too risky to lose important files

Your laptop is 4 months old and that would mean it s covered by the warranty. Contact your local authorized service provider and ask for a replacement drive. They will exchange it and the service is free. :)

Don't know why Windows Media Player does not accept your mpeg.

    Just a suggestion:

Use a video converter and change your mpeg to wmv format and read it.

If you don't have a video converter, google for a free Converter. No need to buy a.

You can also install VLC media player.

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion g7-2010nr Notebook pc and two nights ago, I got a message saying "Windows detected a hard disk problem" and how do I back up my data and then repaired. So I tried it to my WD My Passport 500 GB external hardrive but as soon as he gets as 57% when the reverse said it will create a file system image, the backup fails I tired it three times to try different solutions I found on the help forums, but nothing helps and I don't know if maybe it's because the hard drive problem or another problem. Any suggestions are welcome.

You can back up by using HP Recovery which should not have problems:

You can stop it anytime before restoration starts if you encounter any problem.

Original title: repair Windows scam - Can can't Access Control Panel or workstation

My system has been recently infected with "Windows" repair"virus. I managed to delete using Super Anti-Spyware, but all my desktop shortcuts are gone (hidden) so I downloaded "Unhide.exe" and get all my shortcuts. Most of them seems to be working as before, but there are a few, such as 'My Computer', ' Panel, "My Documents", or even "Windows Explorer", which I can't access.» When I try to open them, I get this popup box saying "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close" how much he out me of my office of kicks.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you!

    Brian

The best way to solve this maybe just create a new user account, transfer your personal data to this account, and then delete the old account. Make sure that you perform the system restore after you did the new account and everything works fine. To purge the system restore, simply disable it then again. Be aware that the creation of a new user account is not the means to get rid of malware. But it is perhaps the best way to get rid of some of the after effects. However, I recommend you scan with Malwarebytes before running these instructions. After scanning you may not create the new account.

In addition, Jose is correct. Good number of new forms of malware prevent the start in safe mode. Trying to force booting in SafeMode with msconfig, you end up with a boot loop.

No guarantee, but it might be interesting to try to download
    and install the XviD Codec:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    XviD Codec

  • How can repair you windows explore-"Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close."

As of late, when I open any photo or video files (those that I opened in the past) I get that dreaded "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close... blah, blah, blah!

I could not find any information on this error, except the one person that I know who maintains computers of the University of Missouri, said that he had this problem, and it was somehow related to the fact that he had too many thumbnails in the folder/drive.

I didn't think that this is the case and think it is much more insidious than that.  Could use any help to solve this issue up to and including the repair of Windows Explorer (with the hope that I don't have to reloadt the operating system).

    Thanks in advance!

  • In XP randomly receive error message "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close"

I get the error message "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close".
It occurs at any moment while I'll do something on my computer.
The signature of the error is,
    App name: explorer.exe
    App version: 6.0.2900.5512
    The mod name: unknown
    Mod Version: 0.0.0.0
    Offset: 4ec683bd

After the error message appears and I click 'send or do not send', everything on the screen refreshes, & I have to reset some programs.

I am unable to do a system restore to solve the problem because I have no good restore point before this problem occurs. He began to occur initially in Jan 2011 & I can't go to a restore point of return in 2010.

    Can someone please?

    Hi Jaaz76

    Method 1:

You can perform a security analysis and check if there are viruses or malware present. Check out the link below to run the scan and check if this helps-

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

    Method 2:

Also I suggest you perform a SFC scan and check. To Perform a Scan SFC -

    a. click Start, click programs, on Accessoriesprincipally made, right click guestand then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow

    b. type the following command and press ENTER:

    sfc/scannow

    c. a message indicating that "the system scan will start. Be patient, because the analysis may take some time

    d. If all files require a SFC replace will replace them. Hopefully though you should, after the analysis, see the following message "Windows resource protection not found any breach of integrity.

    e. once the scan is finished, close the command prompt window, restart the computer and check.

Check the link below for further guidance on scan SFC - mentioned
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310747

    I hope this helps.

    Hello Terry,

I would recommend from your computer in safe mode to see if the problem persists. If you do not experience the problem in safe mode, it's probably caused by a startup item. To isolate the problem, please perform a clean boot. I also recommend scanning for infections and update your drivers.

    Hello

    1. don't you also get an error with the message code?
2 have you installed third-party readers part?
    3. What is the format of the files you are trying to play?

Follow these steps and check if they help.

    Step 1:

I would have you readers of third party temporarily Uninstall and check if persists it to the question.

    Step 2:

Most likely you need codecs to play these files with Windows Media Player. I suggest looking up codec in the Internet that supports the file format, download and install them.
