WPS installation

I just installed a WRT610N and will install a WPC600N & WMP300N.

Are these WPS type devices?  Where I can just break through the button on the router and let it do, it is thin?

Thank you

Kevin

You must install the devices through CD or web utility base...

  • LaserJet Pro M1212nf does support WPS?

The specifications of the printer said it built in ethernet and network ready, but there is no specific instructions or information about this printer Advisor if she supports the WPS installation & configuration of the network. This is a second laptop, and a printer that I use in a different field than my desktop. The laptop IS connected to my network, but can't find this printer. I can around duty set & print using the USB cable on the model M1212nf? All the literature is for the 'family' of printers and not this printer.

I checked the specifications of the printer... it does not support WPS.

  • WiFi network disappeared after that WPS button was pushed

I was asked to press the WPS button on my router to connect my wireless printer. The printer installation has been completed successfully, but now when I go on my phone or laptop, my network name disappeared. Initially I thooght maybe just the name had been changed and tried among other networks that have been detected but my password does not work on any. How can I get my network to be recognized by my devices again? Internet on my PC works well because it has a direct connection to a modem.

    Hi @bee_gee

    Welcome to the community!

You could have pushed as well the wireless button.

See if it happens when you press the button again without wire on the side.

  • LaserJet MFP M277dw Pro: Windows installs its own printer driver after failure of wireless printer, print

It is a problem really bizzare, I will try to explain as clearly as possible what happened:

    • I have 277dw LaserJet MFP Pro, which is connected to my PC via wireless network. I installed the drivers from HP and everything worked as a watch movement - printing and scanning.
    • Yesterday, the power is out for about 30 minutes. Computer stayed on thanks to UPS, but the printer power loss.
    • Once the power was restored to the printer, printer initialized and I was able to access his page of HTTP status without problems. All the parameters of the printer has persisted. Same IP address. Printer all self-tests pass. However, I have lost the ability to print (printer shows more as an option in the print dialog boxes). Scanner works as usual, save the scan to a network folder.
    • The State of device HP icon has disappeared from the taskbar.
    • A bunch of new entries titled "NPIF7BB8E (MP Color LaserJet MFP M277dw)" appears in the Device Manager. This 'new' device appears in the Device Manager 5 times under different categories of devices (see attached screenshot). In the Event Viewer, I discovered that Windows installed for this device right when the power has been restored to the printer.
    • Under control panel-> hardware and sound-> devices and printers, all devices installed by HP are grayed out and their status is not connected.
    • Restarting the computer does not resolve this issue.

Anyone have any ideas on what is happening here? It's the second time this has happened - I was able to fix the first time by reinstalling the printer drivers. However, I don't want to have to do every time the failure. This looks like a bug in Windows or the drivers.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Most likely your operating system is set to automatically install the drivers, when the lost connection the WPS driver build has been added.

Try these steps and check if that helps:

    1. In Control Panel, select network and Internet.
    2. Open the network and sharing Center.
    3. Search your active network profile, it appears just below the name of the network (for example Private Network, work network)
    4. The side pane select change advanced sharing settings.
    5. In the profile category, uncheck 'automatically enable the configuration of the connected network devices '.
    6. Click on save to confirm.
    7. Devices and printers remove any element M277 printer), as well as Device Manager (remove the two original HP or WPS item, you should see is no longer the M277.)
    8. Once select start > all Apps > HP > HP Laserjet M277 and select the shortcut to reconfigure the device, it can appear as the printer software installation & connect a new printer, etc.

    Hope that helps,

  • Unable to connect my laptop to the new wireless printer - error "installation failed" after entering my password/security key (WPA)

I just bought an Epson printer. I went through the installation process on my laptop but I get the "Failed to install" error message after entering my password/security key (WPA). I am with BT and my home hub I have "Wireless Key", "PIN WPS wireless" and "Admin password" - which is it? I tried all three and not joy. Help!

It is almost certainly looking for your "wireless key".

The WPS Pin is only used if the printer supports "Wi - Fi Protected Setup" - which it probably isn't, and the "Admin" password is used to access your BT home hub to make configuration changes.

In addition to identifying what wireless Epson printer you have, you can either

    • b changes to the configuration of the printer from a screen on the front or
    • (b) to connect to the printer by an Ethernet cable or
    • (c) to connect to the printer with a USB cable?
  • Installation with WRT310N wireless router problem

I have currently an old model WRT54G Router installed wireless that works very well, but I need the WPS technology if I want to install a newer model WRT310N router. I used the installation cd supplied with the router, which has not seen any problem until I removed the old router and plugged in power in the new after connecting the anc ethernet cables to my cable modem. For some reason any the software wont recognize the new router so I can continue with the configuration of the installation. Since I plugged the new router in the same connections that I had had the old LInksys router connected to, I do not understand why and I can not proceed with the installation. I finally just reinstalled... connected., my old router and it works fine, but this isn't a solution for me.

It might have something to do with the sequence to connect the different cables? I also tried to use 192.168.1.1. via my browser and could up the installation screens but it wont let me install the new router so that the old one is still in place and without the old one in place, I can not access the configuration on my desktop screens.

I have my router in a closet with my... cable modem... .but the WRT54G worked fine for 2 years in the same cupboard and I also installed a Netgear N600 router as an alternative. is it installed fine until what happened to the point where he said the beach was too limited. .i guess work in the closet.  I guess I can buy a range extender to solve this problem, but I have no experience with those so im not sure if this will solve the problem. I prefer to get the Linksys WRT310N to work if possible.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Thanks for the tips on how to handle this. Fortunately, I discovered later that the Linksys router, I bought on ebay, is apparently defective and it now resides in my trash. That said, I also realized with the help of a neighbor that my Kindle works with the good old Linksys router I used for 4 years or more. My problem was to not understand how to download books on the Kindle, even though I thought I did. So the problem is moot. Sorry I got worth this site with no problem.

  • you will need to convert wps to doc before you send it. you will need to return to the same formula. How?

isn't it good that nobody can open my resume.  cannot expect people on the receiving end to convert.  How can I convert it before you send it?

    Hi Jchester,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

    Try these methods.

In the first method, you create a document in Works, and then save it as a Word (.doc) document. In the second method, you use the Works 6-9 Converter to open the Works (.wps) word processing document in Word.

    Method 1

If you have Microsoft Works installed on your computer

To convert a Works in Word document, Works to save the document as a Word document and then open the document directly in Word.

To convert a document Works 6.0, Works 7.0, Works 8.0 or Works 9.0 so that you can open it directly in Word, save the document as a Word document. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. in Works, open the document you want to open in Word.

    2. click on file and then click on record under.

    3. in the dialog box record under , do the following:

    a. replace the area Save in where you want to save the Word in your document format version.

    (b) in the file name box, type a new name (if necessary) for the Word version of your document.

    (c) in the Save as type box, select Word 97-2000 and 6.0/95 - RTF (* .doc), and then click Save.

Note If you use Works 8.0, select Word 97-2003 (* .doc) the area type , and then click Save.

    d. on the file menu, click close to close the document before you try to open the document in Word.

    4. start Microsoft Word and open the newly created document.

Method 2: If you do not have Microsoft Works installed on your computer

If you have a Works (.wps) document that you want to open and you don't have any installed works, you can still use Word to open the file. To do this, first use the Works 6-9 converter in Word and open the document directly in Word.

Step 1: Download the Works 6-9 Converter

If you have previously installed runs on the same computer on which Word is installed, the Works 6-9 Converter is already installed and you can proceed to step 2: "Open the Works document in Word."

If you have not already installed works on your computer, you must download the Works 6-9 converter to open the document in Word. To download the Works 6-9 converter, follow these steps:

    1. If it is open, close Microsoft Word.

In your Web browser, visit the Microsoft Web site at the following address:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=bf41401e-70fa-465D-ae2e-cf44dbf05297&displayLang=en (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=bf41401e-70fa-465d-ae2e-cf44dbf05297&displayLang=en)

    2. click on download. The file download dialog box opens.

    3. in the file download dialog box, click Save the file.

    4. double-click on the saved file to start the installer Works 6-9 Converter.

    5. click I agree to accept the terms of the license agreementand follow the instructions to install the Works 6-9 converter.

Note If you do not agree to the terms of the license agreement, the installation cannot continue.

    6. click on install to install the converter file on your computer. The Works 6-9 Converter Setup now extracts the Works 6-9 file converter and installs it on your computer. You can now open the Works file in Word.

Note If the file downloads or is incorrectly installed, you can go to the "Next steps" section for help.

Step 2: Open the Works document in Word

You can use Word to open a Works (.wps) document file, even if the file was not converted to Word (.doc) beforehand, using the Works 6-9 Converter. Follow these steps to open the Works document using the Works 6-9 Converter:

    1. start Word.

    2. in Word 2000, Word 2002, or Word 2003, click the file menu, and then click Open. In Word 2007, click the Microsoft Office button, and then click Open.

    3. in the Open dialog box, follow these steps:

    (a) change the area Search in the location of your Works document.

    (b) in the area types of file , click on all files (*. *).

    (c) select the Works (.wps) document that you want to open and then click Open.

    4. If the document opens correctly, click file, click on record underand then change the type of file to a Microsoft Word (.doc) document.

    5. save the document and you managed to convert the file to a Word document

  • installation of 2540

Today bought a 2540 all-in-one. It is to be a home network printer, do not physically connected to any computer. Went through whole procedure and when it came to allow the wireless, I get the following... blue flashing light display shows icon wireless and wireless and ever growing Measurer. I can't connect to my wireless network, even after several reboots on the network, hit the WPS turn on the modem... the blue wireless light just continues to blink.

I also tried the direct key wireless, but it is not visible on a laptop or Tablet close to. I have a time had a message on the shelf to enter the key of the WPS supplied with the printer, but I searched the paperwork and the printer and cannot find this key.

I have already installed a brother printer on the same network without any problem...

    WHAT I AM DOING WRONG?

    Welcome to the @bellabunka13 forums.

I read your post about the problems you are having with your 2540 Deskjet to connect to your network. I have a couple of guides, I wish you could see and follow, which should help you to connect the printer.

Installation of the software of the printer for a wireless network connection

I can't find the WEP or WPA key or the password for my wireless network

  • B1160W wireless wasn't working and now unable to connect - I tried the re-execution, WPS pairing Setup and not work now

This work on my PC then tried to add wireless to PC from my wife and now it does not work on either.     Wireless Setup I tried tried uninstall/reinstall using the installer from the installation CD, 2) and 3) have also tried pairing WPS.    Printer sees the network but seems to forget the network password.    I'm sure that the password is correct and then reconnected iphone, PC, etc. just to be 100% sure.    I can print the network config and also use the printer via a USB cable, but no wire is very frustrating.    I installed the latest firmware and my PC is Windows 7.     I am 30 years old PC experience and have built machines and made all kinds of software installations.     Is there a reset machine that can be done?    Otherwise, I am convinced that it is a kind of corruption in wireless function.    My warranty through 02/23/15

I finally got working again. I connected the USB cable from the printer to the computer. I went to my directory of installed programs and selected Dell and there is an application called 'maintenance', which allowed me to "repair/reinstall" the driver who was initially working OK (then stopped working). Then in the Dell same folder was an application called "Wireless Setup program.

I followed the directions, with cable is still connected and manually entered my "wifi password', in the dialog box. I got the message "installation failed, try again? I chose 'Yes', this time I got the message "success of wireless configuration".

Then I unplugged the USB cable from the printer, and now it works wireless again. He did change the "name" of the printer from "DELL * ' followed by a group of numbers. The new name of the printer has changed to "1160w Dell monochrome laser printer", which is the best description of the printer anyway, so I don't mind the change.

The original name of the printer was 'assigned' initial installation when I used the 'wifi' on the printer and the router button. But as these buttons no longer worked to solve the problem, the manual installation using the cable has solved my problem.

I did not bother to try to download the latest drivers from their web site, to see if that was the problem, because when I tried to use the driver that I already "knew" worked with my current setup of troubleshooting. I can update my driver someday, when I am willing that my printer stops working again. But, for now "if it's not broken, do not fix."   :-)

  • Photosmart C4780 installation fails to Select network

    Printer model: Photosmart C4780

Operating systems: Mac OS 10.5 and 10.6

    Method of connection: USB

Wireless network: Time Capsule from Apple (802.11b/g/n) and Apple AirPort Extreme (802. 11 b / g) with WPA/WPA2 Personal security and local access control (MAC filtering)

Problem: Try to set up a new C4780, I installed the software on three computers HP run two versions of Mac OS X.  I placed the C4780 next to two different base in the AirPort network stations.  I have the MAC address of the C4780 in each base in white list stations.  I tried also turn off all the access control and all the network wireless encryption/security (briefly).  I even tried to connect to my neighbor networks.  In all cases, the C4780 was connected to the computer via the USB port and the HP installation wizard has been run.  'Select Network' page, the list shows both of my base stations (with the same SSID) as well as two networks in neighbouring houses.  Any network is selected, the process "in search for the network" succeeds forever.  On some attempts, a dialog box shows the network is out of range (even if the base station is the printer inches), but most of the time the "network search" process runs indefinitely.  I looked in the newspapers of the two my network of base stations and found no attempt to connect from the MAC address of the C4780.  Light on the C4780 Control Panel indicates that the wi - fi radio is on.

I don't see any explanation other than a faulty radio in the C4780.  Any other ideas?  Thank you.

I don't know why you have two airports and if they are configured to play well with each other, but...

We will use the WPS from your printer and 8 function:

Start the WPS process from the front panel of your printer (network menu). Then:

    Open Apple Airport utility
    Select your wireless router
    Select Manual Configuration
choose Add Wireless Clients... in the menu of the Base Station
Select the first attempt, and then press to continue.
You must begin the process of Apple Add Wireless customer within 2 minutes of starting the printer WPS push button method. In fact, the order doesn't matter... you can start the process of adding on the Apple start router Wireless Clients then method push-button WPS printer.

Your printer will now be connected to your router. Now all you have to do is install the printer in System Preferences, Print & Fax by clicking on the button «+» Find the instance of your printer with "Hello" next to it and click "Add" when it becomes available. "
