8500 A909N

I have a PRO 8500 first; A909N inkjet. The printing options are: "print in grayscaleff; "High quality";"." Black ink only. As a graduate of mechanical engineering with 40 years of experience in the aerospace industry not equip me to understand computereze, I need a hand-holding.

I want to put the printer when the print color color in the document and use the black cartridge when it is all black.  The object is to get the print job with the cheaper cost of ink.

This printer is able to be put in place for the above setting?  If so, what is it?  It would seem that 'Black ink only' and 'High quality' would not work, but will cause 'Printing in grayscale Off' black print be "maufactured" of color? (This seems expensive.)

Would like to answer in simple terms, since, as indicated above, I'm handicapped because of my limited education and experience.

Thank you

Jim Neely, Tullahoma

Hello

Welcome to the colorful world, there are 3 options:

1 levels of grey in the offshore: color printing.

2. high quality: B & W print, but using a mixture of all colors (Yes, very expensive but high quality B & W)

3 black ink only: print in B & W and only use black ink.

Please note: only as a default, even using black ink, printer use still other inks (much less) during the heating of the process.

Kind regards.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909n

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909n I've had for a while.  Recently it from printing in pink even though my settings was to black ink only.  Then he stopped and started printing in black.  Want to know what caused this.

Also, I wanted to know if in order to print in black so the color cartridges have ink inside.  I read somewhere that the carridges themselves must be in place, but he said not that the color cartridges must have ink inside.  I do not use color and don't want to buy new cartridges of color if I have to.

Would like to help on these 2 points.  They can even be linked to the problem.

    Thank you.

    Hello @JCooper615!

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

You mentioned that the printer printed pink when you had selected only black print cartridge.  I'm not exactly sure what caused this, but I can provide a few suggestions that can prevent it from happening again.

Its possible to print to the printer head needs to be cleaned.  To perform a printhead, cleaning the printer just tap the "setup" on the screen of the printer.  Once your menu setup press "Tools", and then press "clean printhead".  The printer will run the print head cleaning and print a report.

Another thing that I suggest is to remove the printheads and clean them manually.  Sometimes the ink can fog up on the copper of the print head contacts.  This can cause a bad electrical contact and may result in poor print quality.  For instructions on how to clean the printhead manually, click on: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01609042

The printer takes 4 cartridges and 2 print heads.  The print heads are making to put ink on the page and they need to be replaced at any time.  If the problem persists, you may need to install a new print head.

You also want to confirm if the printer needs color cartridges to print.  The printer requires all of the ink must be installed to be able to print.  If a color cartridge is empty, then the printer displays a message that it is unloaded.  The message will not disappear until this new cartridge is installed and will prevent you from printing.  When printing in black the printer still uses a small amount of color.  This is to ensure to don't clog the tubes of ink and the print heads do not dry out a lack of use.

Some printers cartridges that have integrated print heads.  Some printers as the ENVY 5530 and Officejet 4630 do not require the color cartridge too be installed to be able to print.  They can print mode single cartridge.  So if you exhaust your colors you can just take it off and continue to print in black and white.

Thanks again for the display on the HP Forums!

    Enjoy your day!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909n Firmware update froze

I was trying to update my firmware on my HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909n. During installation, the installation froze. I was connected via my USB to the printer. There was a progress screen on the LCD of the printer that shows the numbers 1-5 with small squares under each of the numbers that were either low-light or highlight according to what stage or the status of the update on that. There was also a progress under the numbers bar. The update in the impasse with the square under the number four was highlighted and bar ceased under the number one growth. After 3.5 to 4 hours waiting for the update to complete, I had to kill the process of updating. Try the update again the model search engine can not find my printer and the printer lcd displays a circle with a helping hand to 12:00 and below is a string "B8084644". I'm stuck. • OfficeJet 8500 A909n scanned of the impressions of image reduced to 0.25 "

I did a complete new installation of new drivers for intsaller version 14.0. It is not a question or a problem with the duplexer.  It's just how it works.  The duplexer reformatted the verso of a print out differently than it does the front.  Inkjet printers, it leaves space so that the ink will not smear.  Laser printers, it leaves space to avoid the toner smears.  It's just the way is designed the duplex function.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909n - Windows 7 Driver needed!

    Hello

I just bought HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909, and he does it not install on my Windows 7 RC1 installation. An updated driver is needed.

I wonder if there is no known workaround solution? I tried compatibility mode and run as admin, comes to about 90% ish and - error.

How can I be sure that HP will make a Windows 7 driver for this model, if I need to return it as soon as POSSIBLE.

    Thank you

Message edited by MiahX on 07/06/2009 10:20

@ellirdad. I'm 100% agree with you want HP to solve the driver problem. It's quite maddening.

If you download and use the basic driverset, it works very well (I use Windows 7 RC1 x 64).  This is after forcing it to run in compatibility mode, of course. You can scan, fax, etc. Works very well.

I tried to install the driverset full and also had the problem where it would freeze at 96% and eventually times out. I was bored and deicided to make an investigation of the sound problem have is a file named flash9f.ocx. Apparently, he's trying to 'register' this file with Windows and she fails. I have not dug too deep, but I tried to download and manually save the flash9f.ocf and there still no, then who knows. I hope that HP will get on the ball and give us some Windows 7 drivers soon.

  • 8500 a909n AIO wireless scanning

Printer print wireless.  Network works.  There is a second computer that also prints the printer wireless.

Problem: HP says printer solution center is disconnected, so I can't scan.  Even when I press the button Setup on the PRINTER, it is said to use digital repository configuration wizards in the solutions Center to implement this feature.

If I use the HP printing software and doctor Scan, the printer will scan and pass the test.  Once I leave the doctor Scan software, the printer won't scan.

Is it possible to get a new version of the HP Solution Center that works with Windows 7?

Is there a better way to print and scan wireless?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Tony

    Great!

I followed your instructions and everything works fine.  Printer scans and print wireless.

One thing, though.  You can get HP to find a way to go through this process without having to enter a mode 'clean boot '?  It takes more time I need to.

Anyway, your help has been invaluable.

    Thank you, again.

  • 8500 a909n all-in-one: could not find a way to install the HP Solution Center after upgrade to win 10

Grateful for help in finding a way to install the HP Solution Center after upgrade win10.  The installation CD original will not auto-run and when seteup.exe forced to run from the DVD, offers 'output' as the only item on the menu.  The HP support web site offers only the "HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows" I have installed and tried to run several times.  Pretty frustrating.  Prints OK from normal applications, but am really struggling to analyze.  Any help appreciated.

I have a 8610 who worked during the first weeks perfectly under windows 8.1.

After the Win 10 update, it does not work.  The installer who "sees" the printer on the wireless network, impossible to install drivers or programs.

Hate to say it, but I think we're out of luck until HP fixed their software.

Very ironic because they don't have that tell of these printers are compatible with Windows 10 messages.  Technically, that's true; It is their software that isn't.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909N: OfficeJet Pro 8500 power Module

The printer does not turn on, the power adapter light flashes on and outside, light sweep under the glass of the scanner blinks in sync with the light adapter and the power button does not work. When the power cord is disconnected from the printer, but remains connected to the AC, the light on the adapter continues to pulse.  I was wondering if this indicates a failure of the power adapter or a more serious problem with the printer itself.

    Skulker wrote:

The link you provided describes the problem experienced, but unfortunately the solution wasn't able to resolve the problem. When the module is plugged in AC, the light flashes on and off for the module seems to be defective, perhaps victim of a power surge or slump.  Thanks for your help.

OK, so change the power adapter.
