Can not scan!

Hi all... I just found this forum and thought I would give it a shot!

I have a hp psc 1315 all in one printer which worked very well!

But I can scan is more about it... (print well) apparently I don't have the drivers scanner any longer. I can't find these drivers anywhere! This has been ongoing for centuries... probably because an IT expert has added more RAM and other things on our computer!

I spent hours, days, years to searching the Internet, uninstall/reinstall purchase programs to help me find the drivers but I am simply not having luck at all! Argh! Waste of money and time here.

Can someone help me? I'm not a COMPUTER expert! Do you think I am, better to buy a new printer because I know that this one becomes over years probably 7-8 years old now.

Thank you very much

Well, rats!

Can you elaborate?  The details are useful.

.

There should be a fix, or at least a workaround.  You run Windows 7?

    Hi, Rolland,.

Welcome to the Microsoft community. I might help you.

To better understand the issue, I would need more information on your side.

    1. What is the brand and model of the scanner?

    2. Do you get any error messages? If Yes, what is the full error message?

This problem might have occurred because of these reasons:

    1. Corrupted driver.

    2. Hardware problem.

    Method 1:
I suggest you to run hardware store and check if it helps.

    (a) press the Windows keyboard.

    (b) Troubleshooting type in the search box and press enter.
    (c) click on material and audio.

    (d) click on hardware and devices and follow the on-screen instructions.

    Method 2:
If the problem persists, I suggest you to download and install the latest scanner driver\software on the manufacturer's Web site.

Hope this information helps. Reply to the post with an up-to-date report of the issue so that we can help you more.

  • All-in-one HP Photosmart C6280 not connected to the internet, and can not scan to computer

My HP Photosmart C6280 all-in-one not connected to the internet, and can not scan to the computer.  I got it for a few years and must plugged into my Macbook to print, but now I want to use it to scan photos directly to my computer.  Can someone help me to do this?  Much appreciated!  (Not sure where are my original softward records!)

Oh, OK, well this isn't probably the problem, but for good measure, you should get the latest version of the software for your printer from the "support & drivers" link at the top of this page.

In the meantime, we will reset the printing system:

-Go to System Preferences > Print & Fax
-Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - This will remove ALL your printers!
-Select the sign more to add a printer. Top of the window, Select the default tab . Search for the printer, select it, and wait until the button 'Add' becomes available. Until it clicks.

Depending on your version of windows, you may need less listed dependencies. Let me know if you have other problems.

    4-2 services must be listed.
    5. close this window and look for the remote procedure call (RPC).
    6. make sure it's on manual or if it is enabled automatically, just leave it. Make sure the service is started.
    7. go to hardware detection kernel and Double click.
    8. set the Startup Type to manual and click on apply.
    9. you should be able to start the service by pressing Start.
10 now, you are done and the Twain Manager must work and gives you is not a mistake.

    Check the dependencies or sous-dependances:

Right-click WIA (Windows Image Acquisition) by selecting the first properties, and then click the Dependencies tab. It should list: remote procedure call and detection material core

  • Can not scan or Fax with eFax HP Envy 110.

I have a HP Envy 110 wireless printer connected to an iMac OSX 10.9.4 running.  I downloaded the latest drivers from the HP site.  I can scan from the computer, but I can't scan from the printer to the computer.  I also have an eFax number and the password.  When I insert this information in Control Panel of the printer, I get an error message that my information is not valid.  Can anyone help?

    Hi Melnee,

I see that you have some problems scanning and eFax with the ENVY of 110. I would like to see if I can help. When you try to scan from the front of the printer to the computer, what error or message you get?

Although the 10.9.4 the operating system is not listed in this document, 10.8 steps will be the same: "computer no. has detected" or a Message appears "connection error" during the scan.

On the question of eFax, you must speak with the Team Support HP Cloud. If you live in the USA/Canada, 1-855-785-2777. If you live outside the USA/Canada, click HERE to find the number of Technical Support for your country/region.

Let me know if it helped the document for scanning.

    See you soon,.

  • Workaround for users Mac OSX 10.9.4 that can not scan

Recently, I upgraded my Mac Mini with OSX 10.9.4 and were unable to scan using the Scan button on the printer all-in-one Deskjet 4400 (I've updated all my Apple software). I accidentally found that if I go to System Preferences and click on printers and Scanners, I can click Scan then open Scanner and can scan from there.

It is not the easiest way to analyze, but at least I am able to scan. Hope HP will soon find a way that it will work only with the Scan button on the printer.

  • Officecjet 8600 Pro: can not scan to computer

At the printer for a few years. Started by, scan to computer worked.

Then it would work after a reboot of the pc for a period of time before stopping.

Now, I can not work at all.

I * think * this is part of an update of the firmware, the printer automatically.

Attempt to activate scan of the computer in the HP utility, it says 'Communication error. Impossible to comminucate with device.

However print and scan from the pc works fine, so the printer communicates. In addition, utility HP can see other things such as ink levels.

  • Can not scan wireless to the printer to the computer

I can't scan my Photosmart Wireless B110 printer wireless to my laptop using Windows 7 IE. I can scan wireless using the laptop, which shows that the system can work. It allows to analyze all right, but it just stopped and I tried everything I can find on the site of HP. I deleted the printer and that restored it and I uninstalled all the software and tried to reinstall it but kept getting fatal error message saying that there is a newer version of the same software already on my computer, even though I had removed everything I could find with the name of HP on this subject!

A specific problem seems to be that the laptop will not recognize the IP address of the printer so that every convenience store programs think that the printer is not installed so I can print wireless from laptop and scan also. I would appreciate your help to be able to scan from the printer and hopefully discover why the IP address is not recognized.

Thank you for your answer fast (I'm not used to it as you can see from my previous posts!).

I got the same error message when I pressed the icon Apps so I went to reset the static IP address, as you suggest. The box that says 'Suggests a manual IP' is grayed out so I gave the IP as it was. Then, I moved the section DNS server under which I had left empty as suggested in the other post I had followed. I put the 8s and 4S who told you and now it works perfectly.

Thanks a lot for your help. He needed only two positions experienced to get my printer working again but I had to wait a long time before you me is reached. There must be a lesson there for HP to take on board. In any case thanks a lot again. I gave fame and marked the post as solved.
