  Open Printers & Scanners, select the Pro 100 and remove it from the list of printers by clicking the button "-". Then click on the button "+" to add the Pro 100 again.

  The MP980 has published the latest Canon driver for OS X 10.9. I know that this driver can be installed and works on 10.11 so here is a link to this driver. Because you cannot the Gutenprint driver to work as well, then something may be wrong with transportation to the printer, be it via USB, Ethernet or WiFi. Note the impression that you are talking about the Canon utility is just a command sent to the printer - not a test real impression.

  So before you install the driver I have linked to above, open Printers and scanners and delete the printer MP980. Open the Finder, and then on the menu go to, select go to folder. Then, copy the following line below and paste that into the field of GB and then press the Go button.

  / Library/printers/Canon/BJPrinter

  Here you will see all the contents of the folder BJPrinter of Canon. Select all folders and garbage. Restart the Mac. Once you reconnect, run the MP980 printer driver setup, and once that is completed, add the printer. Now see if it works.

  Method 1

  Check and make sure that this printer is not set offline.

  You are not sure if this helps, but have you tried to download a driver from the support site of Canon for your country? For example, http://www.usa.canon.com/ -> Support-> DOWNLOADS of DRIVERS & -> Enter 'BJC-2100 Series' and click on ' Get drivers and downloads '-> choose "Mac OS 9" of an "operating system" of the menu and click on "Drivers" (the result should be a "BJC-2100 v3.42 printer driver for Mac OS 8.1 - 9.1", which can be selected ").»

  Unfortunately not. I just posted a question on drive C of the computer Xp through the copy on drive D of the computer Vista and boot of it, that is to say use it with Xp. Maybe this is the way forward and I prefer Xp anyway.

  Two things come to mind. First of all, your print spooler works, and in the second place, is your printer driver to day?

  To start, go to control panel, click on devices and printers, click your printer. Is there a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark above (right click, and then click Properties)? What information it gives you? If your print spooler does not work, which is usually corrected by restarting your computer.

  Then go to canon.com, click this ilnk; http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp510 . This will take you to the drivers for your printer, and you can download the latest driver for your operating system and Bit depth. Alternatively, you can contact Canon directly support from this page so enter their user forum.
