E1200 V2 speed

Hey, I recently bought the E1200 advertised as 300mbit/s, but it is slower than my old WRT54GL. The wireless, I get only 1.5 / 2 MB/s download speed and 6-7 Mbps wired max.  My ISP gives me 100 Mbps in download, about 12 MB/s without the help of the router.

I'm not an expert imto configuration of routers, but I think that I have disabled anything that might slow down, but no change at all.

I was getting 3-4 MB/s wireless and 4-5 Mbps wired with the old WRT54GL... something must be wrong here.

@Redbull, your modem speed is impressive. The speed you get directly to your modem and the speed at which you get connected to your router should be the same or if there is a difference, it should be close to that.  Make sure that WMM is enabled. Sucurity must be set to WPA2 only. You can reflash/update the firmware of your router. See the link here. Manually upgrading the firmware of the WiFi Linksys router or gateway series X

  • E1200 low speed wired & wireless through L2TP

I have the L2TP connection. Without the router, just cable, I have 35 MB/s download and 70 Mbit/s upload.

Through the E1200 wired & wireless, I get a huge download speed 5-14 Mbps.

I have the latest firmware and I reset it after the update.

I read a lot of information about it and a lot of people write that this router just can't handle the gear through L2TP.

Is this true? It could be fixed?

If you get only 5-14Mbps download speed via the router, which is so far beyond the rate without it, I must say that the router has problems. You can try to lower the MTU settings to 1460, and then do the test using speedtest.net.If that does not solve the problem, I suggest getting a new router, preferably a one gigabit.

  • the upgrade of my DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem is my compatible wireless router?

I want a DOCSIS 3.0 that is IPv6 Ready to upgrade my modem cable (comcast). I have both wired and wireless devices in my house. My cable modem connects to a Linksys switch, which provides connections to all my devices wired as well as my router Wireless N of Linksys E1200 so that it can provide wireless services to my tablets and smart phones. My router Wireless N of Linksys E1200 will be compatible and able to provide speed increase once I update my cable modem? Also is she my IPv6 router?

E1200 wireless speed is about 60 MBit/s with a good signal between the router and the client.

  • With E1200 slow download speeds

I have an E1200 that will work very well for a while, then suddenly the download speed for all wireless devices will be reduced to between 20-30 KB/s.  It happened last night when we were watching videos on Hulu.  We were explosive along the end, when all of a sudden the connection was pretty awful that it had to stop watching.  We have no idea of what has changed – there is only two of us in the House and we were both passively watch Hulu.

It's already happened, and generally change something like the wireless channel fixed it, but not this time.

The computers that we have connected to the router via Ethernet gets stuck between 1 to 3 MB/s, so I know that's not the modem or the access provider.

The intensity of the signal is good (4-5 bars).  I tried to reposition the router and the wireless receiver, but that did not help.

I have the latest firmware for the router, as far as I know (v2.0.02).

I tried all channels available (including the ' Auto').  I tried to change the width of the channel between Auto and 40 MHz.  I tried to reset the router to factory settings and re - download my configuraiton.  I tried to set QoS.

    Any other ideas?

Hmmm I have a router E4200 and had the same problem. But when I disabled it Support WMM and I was able to make it work properly.

  • Very slow download E1200 speed

I chatted four times with technical support on the issue of load speed down without resolution.  The router and modem are new.  Connect directly to the modem I get Mbps, but the router speed is Kbps.  I updated the firmware and made various changes by searches on Google.  I would like suggestions of others could have on this issue.  Thank you

    Hi ScarletJamie,

I determined the cause.  I found and disabled WMM switch which fixed (I think) the problem.  I saw the repeated references to this switch.  It took a while to find the access.  Thank you for you time bcil

  • Ethernet transfer does not-router E1200

    Hello

I recently got a new ISP (single digits), they claim they use the service to transfer Ethernet (T1?). They have 1.5 mb upload and download speed.

They installed a 'box' in which I take an ethernet cable and connect directly to my computer and we have an internet connection. As soon as I try to plug the ethernet cable into my router E1200, internet no longer works. I can access the router, change the settings, but not the Internet.

For a short period of time (1 hour), I had internet to work by changing the static 1 8.8.8.8 DNS and DNS 2 to 4.4.4.4

I turned so the router work after the change of some port forwarding settings, and it never worked again. Even after reverse port forwarding.

Thanks in advance, any help is greatly appreciated!

    Hello

On the settings page, go to the status tab and check if the router has an IP address. If there is none, I would say to reset the router. Press and hold the reset button for 10-15 seconds using a pen or a paper clip. Then disconnect and reconnect the power cord to the router. Make sure that the modem is connected to the yellow port and the computer to one of the ports numbered or blue.

Log on to the configuration page and check again if your router already has the IP address. If there is nothing, go turn it on to Clone MAC address on the Configuration tab, and then click Clone MAC address before you save the changes. Reboot the router and check if you are online.

    I hope this helps.

  • E1200 Wireless is slow (Ethernet is fine)

I just bought a new router Linksys E1200 to replace a D-Link router, in order to address a problem of Xbox Live. This problem has been resolved with the new router. However, the E1200 wireless connection speeds are very slow, while ethernet speeds are normal.

Speedtest.NET show me speeds between 0.5 and 2 Mbps instead of the usual 20-25mbps I receive via ethernet and wireless from the D-link download.

Interestingly, my download speed seems unaffected and remains about 4 Mbps if I connect wirelessly or via ethernet.

My router is a Linksys E1200 v2 running 2.0.02 build 3. All 3 computers, I am trying to connect are MacBook Pro of variable age from 2007 to 2011. I have the router allows only connections Wireless-N, and encryption is WPA2 Personal.

Try to go into the QoS (in Administration?) and affecting the disabled WMM. Then, run your tests. Make sure that your computers are not set to N only, or you will lose connectivity. WMM is required for N Wireless to do its job, WMM slows Internet.

  • E1200 Playstation 3 Help!

I have a router E1200 and my ISP is Comcast.

I need help to find how to have the best settings for online play. I did the static IP set up. But I still have some lag on a connection. I called Comcast to see what I can do. They said his problems with the router.

I enter the numbers to the right for PS3 in the simple Port Forwarding and Port Range Forwarding. I turn on the DMZ and seized the same IP address on my PS3

and I entered the following DNS

    DNS1: 208.67.222.222, DNS2: 208.67.220.220

Can someone help me on something that I missed?

PS: I don't have a problem with resetting the router together and starting from scratch?

    Capo202 wrote:

Yes my PS3 connected wired. When I play Madden NFL 13, he said that I was disconnected because of network.

And when I play Black Ops 2. I've launched offline sometimes. When I do the speed Test on the PS3... The download speed and upload speed changes a lot... once its speed of 30 Mbps DL and changes to 8 Mbit/s DL

You talked with your previous post that you have triggered and transmitted so ports on the router with DMZ active. In fact, the firing port and shipping should be use both and also DMZ won't go to work if is port triggering or transmission is activated. So, make sure you that DMZ is disabled. Another thing is since the firmware of the router is already updated, reset the router for 30 sec, disconnect/reconnect the power cord and wait as the power light is solid before you configure manually. What are the ports you have open on the router?

  • Linksys E1200 disconnects a computer all in game.

Heya. I had a problem with my E1200, we bought yesterday to replace an old belkin wireless-G, we thought was the culprit of our questions.

Recently, we moved to a House to an apartment. In our old House, we had no problem of internet connectivity at all. We used a wireless router (not sure what kind) and had a great connection for streaming and playing video games as League of Legends. The router has belonged to a roommate, however, so we had to use an old one that we had in stock when we moved into our new place.

The wireless G router was unreliable and had to be reset constantly, as the internet was often slow or disconnected. We picked up a new router yesterday, Linksys, and I set up the wireless network. Our internet seems to work very well, a speed test, that we ran with speedtest.net was beautiful. But we will still have a weird question.

When my boyfriend play LoL, it's always get lag and connectivity problems. Everything in his computer is the same as it was in our old House, when we had no problem, and this problem started when we arrived on a new network. The weird part is, when it is unplugged, my internet is still very good.

The router is in the same room that the computer, with no cross road of walls. It is set up next to the modem and is behind the TV. We have not all wireless phones and the microwave oven is in another room. I tried to clear up the wireless by activating the router to another channel (channel 2 which has 2 other users, rather than channel 11, which has 9 other users). It has improved our speed, but he's always disconnect when it is in a game.

We have only 3 devices running off of the router: my laptop, my PC and the PC. We aren't torrenting or anything streaming when this problem occurs. I can't reduce the problem. Anyone know what can possibly be emphasizing the connection?

    Thanks for your time.

Others will be overlap 1,6 and 11.  As I said, try some other channels to see what may work for you.

  • How to obtain the majority of speed on a single device

I have several devices on the router e1200 and trying to find a way to get the majority of the speed on a single device.

And give all other devices with low speed.

    Help?

Hi Capo202, you can try to use QoS on the router settings. Just access the router setup page and look for this page http://ui.linksys.com/files/E1200/2.0.00/qos.htm. Hope this can help you.

  • New on the E1200

I just "upgraded" from a to an E1200 wireless router E1000.  I had good performance with the E1000 and I've only upgraded to the E1200 because it was on sale.

My only complaint with the E1200 is slower download speed on my desktop that is connected directly to the router.  My normal download on the desktop PC speed was 25 Mbps with the model E1000.  After I disabled the WMM on the E1200 as others suggested, the download speed on the desktop computer immediately increased to 5 Mbps up to 15 Mbps.   Any other suggestions to get the speed up to 25 Mbps download, before I switch back to my E1000?

The router E1200 is connected to an Arris TM602G modem.  Both modem and router reset during the installation process. I have set up for a couple of iPods and configured control Open DNS, but other than that, the router is using the default settings.  All the wireless devices in the House seem to be very well on stage with the E1200.

Ok. Do not change the MTU size more. Looks like it works as it should.

  • Cannot set u00p E1200/E1500

Hi, I recently bought E1500 renovated through Amazon, hoping to replace WRT310N which was not slowly due to age. However, when I tried to install the suite in all directions, he invites me with the message saying that the computer could not find the device. So I contacted the customer service and they determined that the unit was defective. Not wanting to wait another week to get a router, I went to Best Buy and bought nine e1200. However, the same problem persists. My wild guess is this modem router and comcast linksys are unable to communicate somehow. Does anyone have the same kind of problem? Still, my old WRT310N works just the wireless speed is about 10% of what it was.

Have you used the installation cd supplied with routers to implement? For your case, you may need to configure the router manually. Or you could try to establish the first internet connection between the computer, the router and the modem before running the cd to get the use of the software. Since you have a Comcast cable connection, what you can do: reset the router first by pressing the reset button on the router itself by using a paper clip or a PIN for 15 seconds, then the power it down for 10 seconds; Once the power led is solid, you can then start the manual installation; Access the router configuration page (to learn how, see this link: http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=3d655af76e21457fa8b71a0c3a2a0c9c_3676.xml&pid=80&r...). On the Configuration tab, click Mac address Clone. Turn it on and click Clone My PC MAC; Click on save settings. Go to the status tab and check if you have Internet IP address on the page (if you do, try to check your internet connection; if no, restart the router and the modem then again check the IP address). Once the internet works, you can then try to run the installation cd again. If she will always give you an error message, download the latest version of the software from the Web site: http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/support/routers/E1200 ; ( http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/support/routers/E1500) and use it to complete the configuration of your router.

  • What is the speed for OS 10.10 on 13-inch, early 2009

My 13-inch, Early 2009 MacBook runs with OS 10.9.5 basically OK on speed, and it's a very good, loaded with the fine software is useful but old and slow sometimes with all additional popups and deflect and is very nervous about the links I don't want and mail that I didn't delete.

The system is pushing me to the update/update 10.10 and I continue to resist the Apple push, the fear of losing what I have and I'm really happy with.

I was looking for the answer among existing similar concerns, but did not get the simple answer and clear what will I win by the new OS 10.10.

My fear is real or just scared?

Apple has removed 10.10.5 and 10.11.5 from the App Store, so only your option upgrade is 10.12.
