E250

My E250 has been frozen and after attempts to release a failure, I read advice in this forum to turn it off, push the button and then hold the record button while the unit is then connected to the pc for "Recovery" mode to operate.  "I did it and have message shows" Welcome to recovery mode.

USB cable connected

Enter USB2.0 MSD mode

I can't enter any mode nothing happens when I press the control buttons.

What should I do this step to restore my awesome player in the operational mode.

Thank you

  • Sansa e250 questions

    Hello

I'm new to this Ant thing, and I don't know if this problem has been addressed before, but it would be great if someone could help me!

I got my sansa e250 for about 2 or 3 years now, I guess, and it has always worked well.

I turned on the other day and tried to play a song, but it says "wrong track." I know that this can happen sometimes and thought nothing of it. but he spent with all the songs I played.

In addition, the player was all deleted music out of my playlists and when I went to view album and artist, he said that he had nothing. but according to the song, he said I had 754 songs out there.

I connected it to my computer and deleted everything on the player, it works and it was always in the same situation, with 754 songs, artists or albums and they were all the "bad tracks!

very frustrating. I have tried everything I can think of, like everything reset and take the battery, all with the same result!

When the device is plugged into the computer, it shows all the folders are empty. It is said that no space of memory has been used, there still 1.8 GB of left of the Hall. (what a 2 GB device)

so if anyone knows what the hell is wrong with it or what can be done to remedy this, it would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

It is possible that your cord is wrong. But try to reformat via Recovery Mode. I hope that your E250 is a unit v1 - you won't see Welcome to the recovery on a v2 Mode, so we need to try something else.

It's the excellent Markster step by step:

Now, to solve the problem.  The easiest way is to just reformat the drive in Recovery Mode.  This will delete all your files, however.  Here's how:

    Turn off the player.

Slide the HOLD switch to the locked position.

Press and hold the RECORD button when connecting to the PC.

RECORD output once you see "Welcome to Recovery Mode" on the screen of the reader.

You should now be able to find that a new removable drive in my computer called 16 MB-FORMAT.

DO NOT TRY TO FORMAT THE VOLUME 16 MB-FORMAT!

    Are we clear on that?<>

16 MB - FORMAT open and create a new folder named sansa.fmt on it in the root directory.  You can now slide the HOLD switch to the unlocked position, use the remove safely icon and disconnect the player.  It will be noticed the sansa.fmt folder, and he saw, format itself and reboot.

  • mode MSC e250 presents itself as the 2 discs with 0kb and unknown file formats

I have an e250 v01.00.12A and when I put in MSC mode and connect to my computer, it shows two disks, each completely empty and with a size of 0 and an unknown file system. The system setting menu has NO option to reformat the drive. I'm trying to install Rockbox or even just update the firmware, but I am completely at a loss on how to address the issue. I tried using the Sansa Updater into recovery mode, but nothing has worked. Manual updates don't work because I have no way to get the files on the device in MSC mode.

    Thanks for the help.

Too bad. I have it. I updated the firmware and formatted (Sansa.fmt) in recovery mode. I had to do it twice, for some reason; the first time he totally ruined the memory and it would not connect in control or PSG in addition to showing as 0 MB in the settings menu. Tried again, and it works fine now. Thanks for the help, c1u31355!

  • E250 dead

Hi everyone, I'm new here. I tried to update my firmware - I have a 2Gb sandisk e250 - but after the update operation my E250 just died! Can someone help how to make it work back please? I can it turn on and turn off, I have only the blue ring on. I went through several steps recommended to recover, but none worked. I was not able to get this 'recognised' on my PC. The "hold REC for a maneuver WE"... didn't work. I have the blue ring in one market. FYI: I run Windows XP, I ran a firmware Updater but I failed to check the correct version of my E250. Thanks for any help. Kirsley

    It won't be easy but:

    Try this.

  • E250 stucks at "image main writing.

    Hey,.

as a first step please don't mind my English, I'm German.

Ive had my e250 player runs without major problems (well okay, ring of death last year, but was able to fix it), but 3 days ago, he said all of a sudden while listening to the music, that the audiotrace is damaged or invalid or something like that and it froze completely. reboot (reset was not possible) all of a sudden, he said that there was not enough space for music db so I free 6 MB (which were certainly existing, the player is never full, at least 300 MB of space). I also noticed that strangely only song is left on the player, even if the info said there are 1.6 GB used and only 1 song is left. on another reboot, it wasn't even a song left and he always said, there are 1.6 GB used.

I entered the recovery mode and connected, but "entry USB 2.0 MSD mode" has failed so I tried to enter the recoverymode once more. On the removal of the kable player suddenly wrote "Mode enter USB2.0 MSD - safe to disconnect USB - output USB2.0 MSD mode - system reset" all at the same time. It went over and repeatedly until I tried to reset it sweet in leaving the battery move ability 0.

Now, I'm fully able to enter in recovery mode (16 MB-device presents itself, I am able to put things and also done sansa.fmt a couple of times without consequences) and sitting here with "image main writing" for hours. I'm only able to stop this procedure without end by removing the battery, but I guess that's not as suggested: X

When I normally turn the player on, it always says that there is not enough space for music db. On the connection, it also is laggy as hell (Im only able to enter the player once, and then it freezes even if the (connected) arrows are always in movement and the watch battery loading.

    Thanks for the help,

    Vrede cordially

I realize, no one is interested or has an idea how to solve this problem.

New iPods are presentation today, we'll see...

  • E250: songs are not displayed on the device

Recently, I put new music on my player.  When I went to listen to music that I had just added wasn't there.  The music presents itself as being the player when contected to the computer.  I downloaded the new version of the firmware and that has not resulted in a change.  However, when I checked the USB mode (after looking through a bunch of messages) I found that it was PSG (he had been initially on MCP).  In MTP mode I can put music on my player without problem.  But here's the catch, my memory card is not recognized in this mode.  I tried to use WMP and Rhapsody (the system that I usually use) with no luck.

Is there something I can do to make it all better, or is it the first signs of the end for my e250?

I found the solution elsewhere on the internet.  I have reset the settings.  I did it by going to 'Reset All' under settings.  After doing this I changed the USB MSC mode and everything seems fine now.

  • card sd e250 problem

    Hello

I was the proud user of the e250; my previous two units were version 2, but the problem is version 1 e250 my niece. Sd card (2 GB standard micro-sd) works very well with the music, but none of us don't r able to download the video. I've never had problems with one of my units of version 2. When I connect the unit to my pc, the real micro-sd reader appeared in 'my computer '. However, I noticed when I first try to open my Sansa Media Converter; disappears from the icon that normally displays the micro-sd card. I formatted the card micro-sd 2G using FAT32, but it seems that the only problem trying to download videos not the card itself. I even tried to copy the video using his card in my pc with my e250 and I have no problems. However, when I re - insert the micro card in his unit, his unit will recognize any videos. Once again, the music that has been added to this micro-sd card is recognized. I tried even a couple of my old 1 G and 2G scandisk micro sd cards without success. The music works fine in both drives internal and micro-sd, but videos work only in the internal drive. Thank you and I would be grateful for any suggestion.

v1 models do not support videos on the SD card, only the do of v2.

  • Have some e250 problems

One, I don't have 3 MB of free space and my reader tells me to release 6 MB, so it may work it is music DB. I can't remove in the distance the player, and when I plug it in, music, photos and videos isn't here, that the things that came preloaded. There is no record of music. I can still listen to music tho...

I also have a 4 GB microSD card. Well, I have music on it and it does not load on the drive. I tried to attach the e250 to my PC with the USB modes and all. Oh, and this folder that appears increasingly e250 icon in MY computer, which does nothing, said only: "Please insert a device in slot m."

    Any help? Thx a lot.

As I said in my previous answer, you can not use a card of 4 GB with a v1 player. Only models v2 with different processor AMS chip supported (4-16GB) SDHC memory card format.

The only way to use the cards (over 2 GB) with the v1 models is to install a 3rd party firmware open source called Rockbox. It can be difficult to install and to use for a beginner and is not everyone's Cup o ' the. But you can check it for yourself at rockbox.org.

There are also many discussions about it here if you care to use the function "search".

  • eBay mishap: renovated difficulty e250

I searched on eBay for a new e250 from my a was stolen from the school after a property in 3 years.  I found a seller who seemed amazing to work with, so I bought a new on their part.  Eagerly, I opened the package he came and connected the player to the computer.  After only 30 minutes with the device, I realized many questions.  But to avoid the hassle, I used the knowledge I have of the device to try and work on the issues.  After 10 days, I gave and contacted the seller.

"I won this point about 10 days ago." When I received it, the point had some problems. I was going to keep and see if I can work through them to lower the dispute, but it seems to be impossible.

    The difficulties;
-I can put music on the element via Windows Media Player, like I did with my old Sandisk Sansa e250, but the music will not be displayed in the list pane. Even when I open the drive in the folder on the computer. Music appears on the drive of his self, but it does not help when it comes to the organization.
-J' tried to put photos on the player. They appear in the display of the folders on the computer, but not on the drive.
-When it is disconnected from the computer, the Player did a reset. Don't effect the player sort of obvious, but I this is not happened with my previous player.

A refund would be much appreciated. You want to send me the Sandisk Sansa e250 back to you? »

They responded telling me to contact Sandisk before contacting them.  So, I'm not exactly clear on what I am supposed to do.

Should I try to solve problems with Sandisk?  Even after that and if notice there is no hope...  Who should I contact about a refund?

Looks like it works and you are experiencing software problems.  You may not remember how you did things before, or it may have arrived with different parameters in it.

You must look in settings/USB Mode and put it in MTP mode if you are using Windows Media Player. It may be in MSC mode.

    Look at these FAQ.

    MSC and MTP

If you don't see not a switch under settings for the USB Mode, look at the settings/Firmware/Info and you will probably see that your firmware starts with a 3.x. update - not with the Updater in Sansa, now useless, but by directions manual here.

To view the music on your computer: music UN-hide

Photos needs to pass by Sansa Media Converter.

You cannot just file away - they need to be the right size.

  • Sansa e250 2 GB limit card memory?

Is the limit of the size of the memory of card Sansa e250 really 2 GB or someone was able to recognize up to 8 GB or maybe even 16 GB with some brands of SD Micro cards?

Depends on whether it is a v1 or v2 model.

V1 is limited to 2GB (SD) unless you install the 3 rd-party firmware, alternative called Rockbox.

V2 will handle the SDHC (up to 32GB) native format.

  • My Sansa e250 v1 is VERY strange (memory loss)?

Today, I downloaded new music and went to synchronize on the e250. My e250 2 GB (v1: 01.02.24A) was dead at first, so I connected on the computer to give a head start to recharge before starting synchronization. After that the music was supposed to be safe on my camera, I turned it back to check and make sure that it is there. Instead of some 300 songs , I've had before (I also have a Micro SD card of 2 GB in there) I find only 11, with the logo of what meant he was on the SD card. (If none of you have the small logo beside it, I apologize, but that's what mine did). When I open the files on my computer first, and then in my Windows Media Player, it shows all my music on the device and also says that the memory is always repeated. When I look on the device itself, he has only these 11 songs. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the cable charger/sync, reset the battery, everything I can think of.

((On a side note, my computer don't bed the SD card when it is in the first mp3 player - it is not since after the first two times, I synced music with her inside. But there were songs that were the symbol of the SD card next to it in the drive. In addition, since the player has had the inside SD card, a small green window pops up on my screen after start of the original mp3 player, saying "refresh database". This has not been a problem until now, but I wonder if this is normal?))

    Any help is appreciated, thanks!

If any of you have this problem: I just fixed mine.

Make sure that you back up ALL your music files if you want to resynchronize, because the only way to get rid of this weird problem is to do a complete memory dump - this means entering the Sansa e250 files on your computer WHILE THE DEVICE IS PLUGGED INand delete ALL SONGS, ALL OF THE VIDEO, ALL of these files. NOT the files themselves, those you need. Just the CONTENT of them. Then go into any media player you use and re - sync all. Or what you want there, is irrelevant. Then you have the music in the back. I have no earthly idea as to how it happened. All I know is that I fixed it.
