Equium A100 PSAA43: CD rom drive won't boot from any CD

Hello.

I have a problem with the start on equium a100-psaa43 procedure.
The problem is the cdrom won't boot any cd
I mean recowery system or any other cd boot as a Live CD.

My BIOS version 1.5
I put in place a correct sequence in the bios Setup. I mean 1. Secondly, CD-ROM, is my hard drive.

What can I do to fix this?

Thank you.

Hello

First of all we should know if the CD rom drive can read any CD.
Have you tried to read from the Windows OS CD? The operating system recognizes the CD inserted?

If not, then possibly the ODD drive malfunctions and, therefore, it s not possible to start from the middle.

Anyway, you can boo from the CD in different ways. First, you can press F12 and you will get a boot menu. There, you can choose bootable devices.
In the second way, you can try to press the C key immediately after starting the laptop. This button starts the CD player.

Good evening. As you can see on the subject, my computer just cannot boot from any hard disk that I put on it. I tried swapping the power supply, SATA cable, reset the BIOS, allowing the start legacy, changing to AHCI to IDE and RAID...

When I get to the BIOS Setup, I see the hard drive and its features, but it will not start or show when I am trying to install a new OS. I'm not an expert, but I think that the problem could be in the motherboard SATA ports, but I'm not sure. Just to be sure, I tried another harddrive and it did not work as well.

I was also thinking to buy a HDD external and installation of my OS on it, but I don't even know if it is possible and I would really like to have my computer working again.

    Thank you for your attention!

Ok. That doesn't say that it is very likely that the motherboard has problems.

I got a toshiba Equium A100-147 by a friend. The only problem is that it comes without a hard drive, because he still destroyed his old hdd to protect its personal and professional data.

I saw in a local computer store a disk sata hard very good price for only? Â £38 it's a 160 GB w Digital Scorpio 5400 RPM 8 MB Cache S - ATA HDD laptop someone knows if it will work or this laptop does it work-specific hdd?

Looking forward to any help you guys can give

    Hello

Of course you need a compatible HARD drive.
There are two different standards of HARD drive. SATA and IDE

You need the HARD drive with the SATA interface. I think the original HARD drive was 100 GB.
So a 120 GB and maybe a 160 GB SATA HDD should also be compatible.

As far as I know the HARD drive slot was placed at the bottom of the unit and a screw secures the plastic cover.
It of really not difficult to replace the HARD drive and I think that the details could be found in the user manual.

    Good bye

I tried updating the driver but I already have the most up to date. It was fine yesterday, until I installed Norton 360 - I don't know if this has anything to do with it. My operating system is vista Home premium.

I really need help quickly I go to University in less than 3 weeks and the cd rom drive is vital for my class.

    Hi Michael

It s very strange that your CD/DVD drive not working anymore after installing Norton 360. To me, it seems that Norton 360 has changed some registry keys and so the reader is malfunctioning.

I recommend to remove the CD/DVD drive device manager.
Then, restart the laptop. After the restart new BONE windows should recognize the new hardware (CD/DVD drive) and must install it again.
Then start the registry and delete the upper and lower filter values from this registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    Then restart and try again!

Good luck and congrats dude ;)

  • DVD-ROM drive won't read DVD

I have this CD/DVD which will play normal CD but will not play any DVD (DVD + R, DVD-R). I noticed that the DVD would not work when I was a BONE

RESETTLEMENT. I put in my Windows XP restore disc, and installed successfully. Then I put in my drivers disk that was on a DVD-ROM drive and it wouldn't work!

I could hear the spinning, but it sounded abnormal, and nothing appeared in my computer. Not open same AutoPlay. Frustrated, I decided to get the drivers of

sites of different manufacturers, including the driver of CD-ROM to see if I could start the DVD. Even after that I installed the drivers for the hard disk, DVD will not play again.

    Any ideas?

I read the other posts, tried the paperclip had thing open, but when I re-powered, the reader is closed, and now he's stuck again. It will not eject through 'my computer '. Trying to eject the results in the player made a noise like it wants to open, but is not, then a green light flashes 3 times. I checked the Device Manager, who says "this device is functioning."  It's a Sony CD-RW/DVD CRX330E. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

    Hello

Try again the trombone - remove the disk in the drive (if it exists) and see if the drive will be
    open correctly.

Sometimes they get stuck. There is a small hole on the front of the CD drive that you can stick a
a paper clip that will release him and the reader to open.

If you have problems with the drive after getting to open:

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive

  • 320 external USB HARD drive won't boot

    Hello!
After working fine for 5 months, my disk 320 external HARD USB is now showing that it is not initialized. When I go to disk management and click to initialize it, it won't boot. Can someone tell me how to make this work? I'm sure I'll have to format too, but can't find any way to make that without initializing the HARD drive first.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

Try removing the USB ports in Device Manager. After restarting again the USB ports should be recognised again.
Then again connecting the external HARD drive.

The second possibility is to use an external USB hub with an additional power supply.
It is possible that the HARD drive needs more energy than the 500mA

  • Pavilion new hard drive XP Media Center Edition 2005, won't boot from the system recovery disks

Hi, I'm trying to replace the hard drive in Pavilion a1620n a member of the family with XP Media Center Edition 2005 where the original Samsung SP2504C HDD failed.  I HAVE the original recovery discs 1 and 2 system and additional recovery disk supplied with the PC but the problem seems to be that I can't get the PC to boot from them to start the recovery process.  I installed a new Western Digital 500 GB HARD drive.  The BIOS recognizes it is installed (as well as the existing DVD - RW drive) and drive past the on-board CHIP support tests.  I tried using the Boot Menu ESC to select the DVD - RW Drive as the first Boot device, as well as the tab Boot Setup of BIOS F1 to set the 1st boot CD-ROM device group and other people with disabilities.  After reboot, the drive of DVD - RW turns on for about 2 seconds, then turns off and the display shows "DISK BOOT FAILURE", INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND press ENTER.  I thought maybe I needed a kind of bootable CD boot disk to format the drive first, so I tried a BACK 6.22 bootable CD and a bootable CD of MEMTEST, that work on the other PC, but I get the same message "DISK BOOT... "on this one.  My next idea would be to try to host the new drive on another PC and copy the files on it recovery disk... but is it really necessary?  If the own PC system recovery CD should not be able to... Recover?

It seems to me that the ligthscribe drive has a problem.  Replace the disk and it may be OK after that.  On a PC so old, it is probably an IDE drive, but check first.

  • Equium A210-1AS won't boot from a CD

I have posted before on the blue screen UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME and decided to restore the computer.
I can't access the HARD drive recovery.

I created a my car windows recovery disk and changed the order of BIOS on a CD first after the Toshiba screen it goes to a black screen with a cursor blinking (_) and I can hear the disc moving, then switches back to windows (leading to blue screen).

I also tried to create a Live CD of SLAX so I could see if it would start on it and able to recover files, but not the same black screen with cursor.
I'll order a Toshiba restore CD, if 2 other CDs do not work, will be the only work of Toshiba?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Hmm the recovery disk Toshiba (that you created) must contain the SATA drivers already so you don t need the compatible SATA mode
But I think you should try it

Go to the BIOS and compatible SATA to AHCI mode value
Then you should try to boot from the disk to recover again

If this will not help and you would not be able to retrieve the HARD drive unit using the HDD recovery procedure you must check if the Toshiba recovery disc might help

If that does not help, then a hardware failure is possible!

  • Tablet WON'T start from any USB drive to the UEFI format unless it has the installer of Windows 8!

Hello! I've done many tutorials online, which none have worked. Here's my question:

I am trying to install Windows 7 on my shelf (I have on an another USB drivers). However, I plug it into the dock the Tablet and turn it on and go into the BIOS, and that's where. But when I try to boot from it, the screen flashes and it goes back to the boot in the BIOS. With the help of Rufus, I tried all combinations (TPG for UEFI, MBR computers for UEFI computers, etc.) and none of them work! To test if the USB was defective, I loaded an iso image 8.1 install 64-bit Windows on the drive, and to my surprise, it started from the drive and started the Setup program! I can't start the Windows 7 installation. I tested the stick in my laptop UEFI and it starts very well! What I am doing wrong? Will this work? probably not, but I am bit agitated-e-f (see below)

1 start from a Windows 8.1 Installation USB key, but by replacing all other files on the disk with the Windows 7 installation version so it force install Windows 7 instead of 8

    2 GB RAM DDR3

BIOS: Version 2.16.1242 Aptio Setup utility

Interesting thing is that in the BIOS, it is said that to enable secure boot (did not you or off), CSM must be disabled. I guess it is, but I can't find where to turn them back on. Site Web de American Megatrend will not let you submit a support ticket, unless you are in a company :|

  • X100e won't boot from a USB combo.

I just got my X100e yesterday and found something quite surprising: I can't start my Drive in Plextor PX-610U USB combo.  The X100e is updated to the latest BIOS 1.27 and the Plextor is currently running firmware 1.03, and yet, regardless of the USB port it is plugged, the computer does not see the drive in the BIOS.  There is no difficulty to access the Windows 7 combo drive; the Player loads right up and I can access any disc inserted in it.  The Plextor boots successfully with X 200 my wife, the ASUS EeePC netbook and even the office, so the fault seems to lie with the X100e.

I tried to adjust the AHCI to compatibility, and it gave me the same results.  Yes, the media is bootable.  I have not tried to create a bootable USB key yet.

The question remains, what gives?  I'm not too happy that the USB key that worked for all of the other machines goes down with it.  Anyone have any ideas?  Thanks in advance.

I tried in the past, a standard CD-ROM drive connected via an adapter usb with the same result.

  • Blue Screen of Death error - trying to replace hard drive but cannot boot from CD

    Hello

I have a Dell Dimension 2400 running Windows XP which is about 4 years old now (everything is oem with the exception of the upgraded RAM from 256 MB to two 512 MB, mark PNY installed about 6 months ago). Recently my computer started to go to a blue screen saying "a problem has been detected and windows should now order to avoid damaging your computer equal not less or equal...". Technical information: STOP: x00000000A (0x00000002, 0x00000000 0x00000020, 0x804F9F45) the beginning of physical memory dump... ' etc. (the blue screen is shifted to the left, it is difficult to read everything). The BOS came intermittently, and after a reboot, it was fine, but it started to get worse and now returns immediately when Windows starts. When the windows would be fine I couldn't use a lot of programs (virus scan or anything that required for access to the files, I could also not download anything), because it says that the files were corrupt.

I thought that my hard drive has failed or got a virus. I was not too concerned by the loss of what was on the hard drive. So I thought that I could by a new hard drive and start-up costs. I bought a western digital caviar is 250 GB. I installed and tried to boot from the CD that came with the new HD and reinstalled operating system CD dell (I entered the Setup menu to change the boot sequence for the CD first). It cannot start. It says press F1 to retry or F2 to go together to the top. Maybe I have other problems with the CD-rom, motherboard, or? However, everything worked well before the BOS began to appear. I've tried everything I can think of (which is not much, because I know little about this sort of thing). I'm getting very frustrated with it and appreciate any help that could be offered. I tried to include information relavent, but please let me know if you need more information. Thank you very much.

  • Of failure, white screen MacBook Pro HARD drive try to boot from the external HARD drive

    Hello

I have a 2008 Macbook Pro which is having some problems, I was able to fix them, but eventually the hard drive failed. I know that because at startup until it would have a white screen Uni (no logo) and you can hear a clicking on in the lower left corner. I thought initially it was a memory problem, but after opening and verification of memory, it's clearly the hard drive.

I solved this problem temporarily (until I can replace the HARD disk) by installing El captain on an external HARD disc and start from that. Here's the twist, I couldn't he can begin to El captain, I tried CMD + R, CMD + OPT + R, CMD + OPT + R + P and now shift. Everything that's happened would be that clicks would cease to release the keys.

I left the macbook on while I'm at work, when I got home it was on the screen to connect the external HARD drive.

I accidentally closed the macbook yesterday and again once when I tried to log on, I could not and I left it on a white screen while I was sleeping. There is a possibility that he may have launched from the HARD drive when I get home, but if not, is there something that escapes me to force do this?

    See you soon

Usually start up to a blank screen without the Apple Logo, may report one of the following:

    • Hardware failure
    • Boot drive is not recognized as valid and updated updated
    • OS X essential software is missing, hurt moved or renamed or corrupt
    • A firmware update is necessary

No matter who, in order to boot from an external drive "bootable", you would normally hold down the Option key until you get a screen that offers a number of devices to try to boot from.

Alternatively, you can try holding down the C key to try to boot from the external drive.

If none of these startup options work, then the bootable disc or the USB port on your MacBook Pro can be the question.

Since you have a Mac pre-2013, if you hold down the D key while booting, the built-in Apple Hardware Test should start up.  This can help to identify hardware problems.
