Failure to scan all-in-one Officejet 4315xi

I have an Officejet 4315xi all in one.  After that I sent my last fax, the message "failed to scan.  Unable to scan, copy or fax"displays on the screen of the printer.  I powered it on and outside.  I tried it on another computer.  Is anyone know how can I fix?  I need this for my home office.  Thank you in advance!

CAME ACROSS YOUR FORM.  I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE ALL-IN-ONE.  THE SITUATION CAN BE CORRECTED BY UNINSTALLING THE PRINTER AND THEN DOWNLOADING THE PROGRAM THROUGH HP DOWNLOADS.  MY HP OFFICEJET 4315xi WORKSD GREAT as BEFORE.

1. I DOWNLOADED THE SOFTWARE, FIRST OF ALL, TO (WIN DOWNLOAD) 2. UNINSTALLED THE PRINTER TO COMPUTER. 3 UNPLUGGED THE PRINTER FROM THE COMPUTER. 4A RAN THE DOWNLOADED SOFTWARE AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS.

I've recently removed from my hard drive and now can't scan or use my ocs. Help! Is there an update to SnowLeopard I should use? Thank you.

  • All-in-one Officejet 5610: lost all ability to scan after operating system upgrade

    Hello

    First post.

Tried to implement everything. Need for new perspective or someone just told me that the printer/scanner is not taken in charge any longer.

Recently updated to OS 10.8.5 as well as extra memory.

Have scanner only for the work of the company.

The scanner just stopped working after update of HP software. I don't remember version. Nevertheless, today I removed all HD and started around, but nothing works.

Start over means, I downloaded a new driver and the patch.

Using a HP scanning Application. Now that the application does not appear even on the computer.

Let's start with some basic questions and then go from there:

Neither HP or HP scanning Application utility are now on the hard disk after you follow the instructions from HP to delete.

What I need the original disks and to reinstall the software from it or can those be online?

    Thank you.

    Mike

    Follow-up.

Tried this approach (see link), but the all-in-one Officejet 5610 is not listed. I suspect the printer/scanner in is no longer supported?

    THX!

    Second follow-up:

I understand how to use of Apple's Image Capture application as a workaround. Not as friendly as HP Scan.

Unless someone can tell me the HP and HP Scan utility always work in OS 10.8.5 for the 5100, I guess that will be sufficient.

    Thank you.

  • Cannot sweep the all-in-one Officejet 4630

Hi all - help needed please.

Recently bought a printer all-in-one Officejet 4630 and had nothing but trouble, set-up and use it. After several attempts to put in place, everything is roughly in order, though I can't yet scan of the control on the machine Panel (I can scan only through "system preferences" under the apple icon).  Whenever I try to scan the engine control panel (and not through system preferences), using either the wireless network (Airscan or whatever it's called) or the USB cable, I have the following message on my laptop screen:

    Task is not available

The task of "Photo (JPEG)" found on your device is not available on your system. Please select another task.

The same thing happens if I try to scan to PDF. I use an old (c.2007 MacBook Pro) that runs the OSX10.9.5 Mavericks. Internet connectivity is not a problem because we have the right cable broadband. All I want to do is scan directly from the printer to my computer, preferably using a wireless connection. Help, please.

    Thank you

    Hi @nckbtlr and Happy Halloween!

I'm sorry to hear about the problems you are having with your Officejet 4630. I understand that you are unable to scan from the front of the printer. I'd be happy to help you with this.

In the spirit of Halloween, first I have to ask: what did the Mummy to tell the Agent from HP Support?    Let's wrap this case up!

I suggest to uninstall and reinstall the software. Please follow the instructions below to complete a more comprehensive uninstall than basic uninstall. I know that these steps look long and convoluted, but I made it easy to follow and have confidence that these steps will solve the problem.

    Scrub / uninstall

    • Open the Applications folder > HP or Hewlett-Packard folder > Uninstall HP
    • Click continue, click on one of the printers in the list.
    • * Only perform this step if you have not all other HP printers.  Press and hold the Option, control and command, while now the three buttons.
    • Click Uninstall.

    Reset the printing system

    1. Click on the Apple icon ( ), then click on System Preferences.

  • All-in-one Officejet J6480: printer Officejet J6480 on Windows 10

I've owned a printer all-in-one Officejet J6480 for a few years.  I bought a new Lenovo computer several months that came with a free to Windows Update when 10 is which would be published.  I managed to load the J6480 software and everything worked very well, including the scanner.  When Windows 10 came out I upgraded to it and rebooted the printer software and everything worked fine.

Then about two weeks ago, all the J6480 would do is printed.  When I tried to open the HP Solution Center to scan a document all I had was a 'ping' and the Center does not open.   So I tried to remove all the HP software and re - load.  It would be the load but not completely.  I kept getting the message that "the application you are trying to use has been blocked to open because it could damage your PC or the loss of data. This is because some applications that worked with a previous version of Windows may not work the same way with Windows 10 ".  I do not understand why it worked fine for a few months with 10 windows and now it's incompatible, unless there was an automatic upgrade (Windows 10 or HP) that is now causing the conflict.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software several times but to no avail.  Can anyone suggest a solution?

  • The upgrade of all-in-one Officejet 6210

I have a 6210 that I love, but it is not compatible with Windows 8 (for example when I want to scan doesn't give me the option to save as a jpg file.

I like the printer and want to know what model number would be the direct upgrade of the 6210?

Sorry, you are right. This printer is not compatible with Windows 8. A great upgrade to the next type of printer which will be compatible would be an all-in-one Officejet 6600 or 6700 Officejet printer.

  • Can't find model number, installation instructions for the unit duplex for printer all-in-one Officejet 6110

MY friend gave me a duplex unit to another printer 6100 series he had. We thought that it would be compatible. The HP site says that my all-in-one OfficeJet 6110 can use a duplexer, but that's all he says: no model number and no installation instruction.  Does anyone have any info or suggestions? I can't know just by looking at my printer.  (The duplexer No. FPU is C9101A).

    Thank you!

To install the duplexer, you must remove the rear blankpanel of your OJ 6110.  The rear panel will be approximately 9 "wide and 4" high with two s tab that can be moved together in the output panel.  Snap the duplexer in place once it is removed.  Make sure that it is oriented correctly, the label must be on the bottom.  Use large buttons on the ends of the duplex unit to release the duplexer if it is to be removed or moved.

With the duplex unit installed, you will need to configure it so that it is recognized by the driver.  See the post here for more information on activation of the duplexer.

I have a Wondows 8.1 and a printer portable all-in-one officejet 6310.  I have my printer installed and works fine on my laptop, but out of the blue one day that the printer will be offline and restarting the computer and printer does not correct.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled the computer many times - this helps for about a week before it disconnects again.

Now when I uninstall my laptop says there is no printer in range and lists no printer for me to install.  When I tried to manually in my printer - doesn't say that there is no such printer available.  Any suggestions?  Apparently this ONLY happens to me on my computer and not someone else in the home on their laptops - we have a total of 4 laptops in the House all on the same router and using the same printer.  Oh how I feel like a fool with windows 8.  Someone at - it helps or good suggestions for me? PLEASE? !!

Don't worry, it happens to the best of us. I recently became very angry because my iPad was not charging, the end came unplugged from the wall charger! Laughing out loud

This problem can be caused by outdated closed ware, contradictory I.P within the router, etc. I have worked on a Thread revolving around Windows 8.1 for awhile, check it out for some possible future troubleshooting operations.

There are steps to add the printer a way, assign a static IP, check that some updates are installed by Microsoft, etc.

  • All-in-one Officejet Pro 8620: officejet pro 8620 all-in-One scan negative

How to scan negatives and 35mm on a HP Officejet Pro 8620?  I recently read it is possible on older versions, but can not find all the information about the printer I have.  Please answer quickly because it's something I have to do for my business.

    Hello

Negative scanning requires a special film holder (as in This example), indeed such was offered by older models and not in the past years.

The 8620 do not offer this kind of functionality, as well as any current inkjet all-in-one device and you can't scan negatives with your printer.

Only proffesional scanners offer a these these days, not all in one of the devices.

  • All-in-one Officejet 5610: function Scan lost after upgrade to Yosemite

Lost the ability to analyze after upgrade, print, and copy works. Have already done everything suggested by Double-U-di in the Mac OS 10.10 post Yosemite and HP Printer Support posted on 30/10/2014: checking for updates Apple, printer removed from the queue, add printer back, reset the printing system, removed the HP software, repair disk permissions * manually installed HP printer drivers v3.0 and added to the queue printer. No change, printing & copying ok, but the scanner does not.

During approval of the repair disk found a number of problems related to printing and presumably repaired, had more to do with the ' should be 80, group is zero ", but others as well.

Anyone know what I can do, short of buying a new printer? I realize, it's a dinosaur - always attached via the USB port, but she worked just beautifully before the upgrade.

    Hello @DrBucky,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are not able to scan from your HP Officejet 5610 all-in-One Printer to your computer Mac OS X 10.10. I would like to help you to solve this problem today. Thank you for all the troubleshooting steps you tried before reaching out for support. You have completed almost all of the recommended steps. However, the order in which the steps have been completed can cause some problems. Therefore, I will be having repeat you some of these measures to ensure that the appropriate driver is being used.

Step 1: Reset the printing system and uninstalling the driver:

It is crucial for the repairs we have a clean slate to work with. Therefore, I'll take you reset the printing system and Uninstall the drivers for your HP Officejet. Please click here for instructions on how to perform the reset and uninstall. Once the site opens, select the drop-down list for 'Mac OS X v10.6, OS X v10.7, OS X v10.8 and OS X v10.9'. Then, please follow the steps in the method 1 and method 2.

Once steps have been taken, please proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Check and repair your Mac disk permissions:

It is very important to perform the audit before the repair. By running the check first, questions are found. Once all questions are found the repair process will correct these problems. By repairing just without checking first, questions may be missed.

    1. Open Macintosh HD and go to Applications
    2. Go to the Utilities folder
    3. Open disk utility
    4. Select the hard disk volume, you use (usually on the left)
    5. Select verify disk permissions
    6. Once this process is complete, select repair disk permissions

Step 3: Manually install the driver Package:

Please click here to manually download the package from Apple to HP v3.0 printer driversupdate. Once the site opens click on the download button at the top. Follow the instructions on the screen to install the driver package.

Step 4: Check the Apple updates:

    1. Go to the Apple
    2. Select System Preferences
    3. Select software update
    4. Click update now
    5. Install your available updates
    6. Computer restart

    Step 5: Add the device:

    1. click on the menu of Apple , then Preferences System.

    2. click on Print & Scan and then check if the name of your printer appears in the printer list.

    3. click on the name of your printer, click the sign minus (), then remove the printer.

    4. click on the plus sign (), click Add a printer or a Scanner, click the name of your printer.

    5. click on the area of use or with the help of Print and then select the name of your printer on the shortcut menu. Ensure that the Officejet driver is selected.

    6. click Add to add the printer to the list.

    -Source

Once your printer is properly added to, please try to scan the image. For instructions on the three supported methods of scanning without HP software please click here. The support document indicates that it is for Mac OS X 10.8 but the steps are the same for Mac OS X 10.10.

Please let me know if a retry of the procedure described in this new order solves your problem of scan. Good luck!

    Hi @jcoronat,

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. I understand that you get an error when you try to scan. I would like to help.

I took most of these steps from a post of Sunshyn2005. To be honest, all I did is to change the links to software, but the post is enough onsite for troubleshooting of Mac software.

    Scrub / uninstall

    • Open the Applications folder > folder HP or Hewlett Packard > Uninstall HP
    • Click continue, click on one of the printers in the list.
    • * Only perform this step if you have not all other HP printers.  Press and hold the Option, control and command, while now the three buttons.
    • Click Uninstall.

Manually uninstall the remaining files potentially - I apologize in advance is not a fun task! I'll try to make it easy to follow. Some of the files described in the following steps can be found, if you can't find one of the files or folders on your computer, do not be alarmed.

    • In MacintoshHD/users/USERNAME/Library/printers, drag all all-in-one printers listed here in the trash.
