Hello

I have posted before my fingerprint reader showed a critical error, and I received a quick answer that solved the problem here, thank you for that.

It worked for a few days, without problems, but then all of a sudden it stopped again.

Does not seem that he has the same issue tho, simplepass works, but the scanner does not seem to answer...

Before he blinked a white or red when they are hit, now nothing and even trying to configure Windows config of fingerprints signed, cannot click on add, its faded out summer.

Someone else has had the same problem, it is common, or simply part of aged 2 weeks of the computer has failed and needs to be replaced?

I see that you have a problem with the fingerprint reader, that it does not react with the indication that he works. I will try to help you with this.

Try the steps in this document: Troubleshooting a (Windows 8) fingerprint reader.

It will basically cover what you can try, with the exception of test the real hardware.

If the document does not solve the problem, I recommend then contact HP support.

    I can't configure the fingerprint reader.  I jumped the password established when I got this HP laptop.  Now when I boot my laptop scanner blinks, but it won't let me set it upward and you request a password or a scanner.  Because I never put my password I've just close it and use my laptop.  But now I know not where/how back in the beginning in order to complete the whole upward.

    I see that you are having problems using the fingerprint on your HP computer reader. I have some suggestions that can help with this question.

    Here is a link to the instructions for use of the software SimplePass. It has lots of information on changing the settings within the program.

    You will need to remove the software, and re-upload it to recover the installation options. If you decide to uninstall the software, you should be able to reinstall from the Recovery Manager. Let me know if you need help with that.

    Here is a link to the troubleshooting steps for the reader of fingerprints as well. This could be useful now or in the future.

  • Fingerprint reader/scanner (HP SimplePass)

    I have a HP Pavilion dv6-A1U59AV with Windows 7 (64 bit) operating system.

    My fingerprint reader does not work, how can I check to see if it's a software/driver problem or if the actual hardware is broken for some reason any (it has not been abandoned there is no physical damage).

    You may need to update the latest version of HP SimplePass.  The material CAN be at fault; the truth is that, unless the fingerprinter is dirty (possible), shorted, or otherwise strangely destroyed, the question is usually the most software.

    Download the following:

    Validity fingerprint sensor Driver V 4.3.205.0 sp55109

    sp61399 HP SimplePass V6.0.100.272 Win7-8

    ====================================================================================

    If you have a valid driver installed, as in:

     

    • Panel > select "display the icon" > device management > biometric devices > Validity Sensor

    THEN

    Reinstall your existing driver:

     

    Control Panel > display icon > device management > biometric devices > Validity Sensor >

    • Right click on the driver Validity Sensor and "Uninstall" (do not remove IT)
    • Reboot / restart the computer and connect
    • The driver will reinstall it connect you to

    Then right click, run as administrator and install your downloaded new HP SimplePass on top of your existing version, that is, NOT to delete what you have on the system now - loads this new version right on top of the old.

    Reboot / restart the computer and connect

    Tip: Do not skip the suggested "restarts".

  • Fingerprint HP scanner won't work - Windows 8

    Hello:

    I recently bought a laptop HP Envy DV 6 with Windows 8 and then bought Norton 360.  Norton 360 would run analyses quick or full scan of the system.  I contacted Norton and they remotely access my computer and fix the problem (so far).  However, now my fingerprint reader does not work.  It's really annoying because I just spent ~ $700 on this computer and HP is not anyone I can call directly for support.

    Does anyone know how to fix this?  I don't know which drivers and the software to install.  I searched site Authentec and cannot find them.  Help!

    I recommend to download and install the HP Support assistant if you don't have it already. You can run and search all the missing drivers on your laptop.

  • Satellite A300 - USB port and fingerprints issue

    I'm starting this thread that I have problems with my fingerprint reader and my USB port.

    I have a Toshiba Satellite A300-C01 laoptop. It was purchased in September of last year. I have not used it much except for the first week I had it, I've been away (Overseas), and I didn't take my laptop with me (I took a former I). There is no chance that the laptop has been used so that I was absent because I live alone and that the cell phone was simply sitting in the computer room.

    I started using it again about 3 weeks. Around a week ago, I noticed a pop-up (bottom left of the screen) telling me that a USB port had problems. I put my FlashDrive on the first USB port and at first, it was not recognized. I tried with another flash drive I have and who has been recognized. However, every time I start the computer I get who pop up telling me that there is a problem with the USB port.

    I also met a problem with the fingerprint reader. A pop up appears in the lower left side of the screen and say that the fingerprint reader was having problems. Happened since then that the problem with my USB port began to appear. About an hour ago, I checked the Device Manager and the fingerprints fingerprints/biometrics scanner does not appear in Device Manager.

    Has anyone else had this type of problem?

    What did you do to solve it?

    I would appreciate comments that I have no other choice at this time until Monday when the Toshiba support is available (they are available Monday to Friday).

    First of all, you should try to update the chipset drivers and software of fingerprint. The two you can find on the Toshiba site:

    If it doesn't work you should try to update the BIOS. Check the Toshiba site for an update.

    In the worst case, you must reinstall the laptop with the Toshiba recovery disc. So you can make sure if it s a hardware issue or not.

  • Satellite A200/W00 - fingerprint is not recognized by the software reader

    I'm running a laptop Toshiba Satellite A200/W00 (PSAF6A-0W00IN), and I recently installed my brand new Windows 7 Professional that I just bought.

    I found drivers for Windows 7 for my laptop on site and installed the Protector Suite QL 5.8.0.4024, and very comfortable.

    Once I restart my computer after installing on the connection screen where the button scan fingerprints is connect it says "Cannot read the scanning device", or something in that sense.

    When I connect another pop up with the program on the bar showing the same thing, that my fingerprints, the scanner must be connected tasks. It is built into the laptop, it should not need to "plug".

    I tried to uninstall the drivers for my biometric device, and then on the analysis of the physical changes he immediately detected my fingerprint again reader and reinstalled the drivers of it.

    So my fingerprint reader is clearly working, but Protector Suite QL is not detect it. I don't understand why.

    Someone has discovered this problem or knows how to fix? I can't exactly check the State of my scanner as it is built into my laptop.

    Check the settings from there and be sure connect password option replace Windows with the connection of the fingerprint is enabled.
    In all this history it's really strange that only the windows fingerprint logon cannot correctly detect the device.

    I have a Qosmio x 300 with fingerprints. Have updated Win7 and everything works well. I may simply have more luck then you have. ;)

  • HP Simplepass is no longer works to 8.1 windows login screen

    Few days back I pruched this Mallet and portable great called HP envy 15 model J122TX. Evrything works perfectly until I had recived this horrible update from MIcrosoft. My laptop has pre installed windows 8.1 and a few days later, I got a lot of updates of microsoft recived. After installation of updates HP Simple pass is no longer present on the windows logon screen.

    This version of windows has something called sing fingerprints optional. I got configered successfully, she and I had also set up the HP simple pass. but unfortunately I cound not connect to windows using the fingerprint reader. scanner Finder blinks white light at the opening of the session, but when I swap my finger on it nothing happens. (but before the update it worked)

    Try reinstalling pass Simple. Its been observed that if you use Microsoft ID to connect to WIndows then print fails. Microsoft is working on fixing it.

    Your system is on the list of eligible models, then we Windows 10 pilots posted to our site for assistance if necessary. If you are concerned about problems of upgrade with the TPM and fingerprint module scanner, I visit the Microsoft response Service and simply ask if you should disable such things before the upgrade or not.

  • Loud beep when I hit

    I bought a Lenovo X 200 second hand, and it works fine. But it's annoying me. Whenever I type as say, an article or a long email or something - that is a long text - the phone would beep in the middle of my typing. And I was not able to understand what triggered it. I tried to type with the plugged AC adapter, typing without the power adapter connected, and it's always the same old thing. (As I type this message, it does beep once in the middle of the strikes of the last sentence)

    Anyone know what could be the cause of this?

    I thought it may have something to do with some of my Palm based on fingerprint software, scanner nearby. So I have disabled scanning fingerprint on my laptop. But still, it will beep.

    Argh! It's quite annoying especially when I'd rather do my work late at night and it keeps beeping like that every now and then without visible cause or the frequency of the ringing - I'm worried he'll wake up my baby even though I work in the living room and he sleeps in the bedroom. It's that strong.

    FYI, it beeps beep - a total of 5 times now since I started typing this post...

    You know what, its okay, I think I found a solution for this. I went into BIOS mode at startup and is went to Config and disabled the keyboard beeps. Told there that keyboard beeps occur when the impossible key combinations are entered or something... so I guess that either I was typing too fast or you continue to press the keys I shouldn't be pressing when I type my documents.   • Satellite P300-PSPCCA - malfunction of the fingerprint scanner

    I had my p300 for a little over 8 months know and use the reader of fingerprints as well as the software to connect and protect a VERY large amount of personal data and work related documents.

    And yesterday when I tried to access some schemes of work I opened the folder and right click on the file clicked on unprotection leader skipped the small box with the fingerprint to the said analysis of fingerprints digital I did and he said too short scan.

    This doesn t will provide a solution to your problem, but it provides information about the files that are protected by fingerprints.
    The fact is that if you would like to try to reinstall the OS and move the files to another location then the files are not accessible more and you will not be able to take out them more :(

    I have no idea why your fingerprint reader does not read your fingerprint. Maybe there is something wrong with the sensor or something like that
    I think that it s not a software issue since you can receive and message from fingerprints, saying the analysis was too short so I m thinking that it s associated with a sensor or a scanner.

    Hmm, it would be interesting to know if the footprint would be functions after the system recovery, but that means that the whole HARD disk should be formatted and you would lose the files

  • Scanner fingerprint driver installs not after Win8 upgrade

    I have a Pavilion dv7-6b32us laptop. It came with Win7. I just upgraded from Win8. HP did not have the driver for the fingerprint reader when I first did the Win8 install but I know see that they downloaded a few weeks ago.   • Scanner HP Elitebook 8770w fingerprint driver

    The device is listed as working in the Device Manager, but does not attend biometric devices or software SimplePass.

    Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit

    The scanner appears as VFS491.

    Currently installed driver is Validity Sensor v4.4.228.0

    With the help of HP SimplePass Identity Protection v 7.1.5.9

    Using Version 7.0.1.1199 of the HP protect tools and 4.4.228.0 the Validity Sensor driver version I am now able to authenticate with a fingerprint. However nothing appears in the Panel-> biometric devices, the management should be done through tools of protection.

    I recently lost the use of my cell phone on my HP Envy 15-j092nr fingerprint reader. I get a code 19 for sensors of validity under biometric devices in the Device Manager window and I was wondering how I can get it working again.

    I tried a few things like reinstall program HP SimplePass but nothing seems to have worked again. All my devices and software are up to date since my computer is only a few months old. And when I go into the settings of biometric devices, he said that there is no device detected on the computer.

    • First, try a Hard Reset to see if it will 'shake the cobwebs", in other words, reset the biometric device to make it work again:

    Hard reset

    If necessary, continue:

    • Check your biometric device ID and see if it matches the ID of driver below.

    Some systems, including: HP Envy 15, HP Envy 15 Touchsmart, HP Envy 17

    Driver ID:

    USB\VID_138A & PID_0050= "Validity Sensor Eagle (WBF) (PID = 0050)" "

    How to check the biometric device ID - open the document with the following name:

    Hardware ID the biometric device driver

    • If the device ID is missing or different, then download and install this driver:

    Validity sensor V4.5.122.0 sp61263 Eagle victory

    NOTE: If you download and install the driver for the Eagle (above), you can ignore the request in the procedure of upgrading (below) to repeat this process.

    • Open, read and then follow the procedure described in the document entitled:
