Frozen mouse, Vista, 7

I restored my Compaq presario to its state of origin due to various problems. Restore went very well except for the

wireless mouse does not respond. So far I have removed the battery and followed the instructions, I read and deleted the SynOptics and reloaded the program nothing works. I also changed the date back a day.

Any help will be appreciated.  Safe mode does not either.

Presario C 500 model 335 AU # aba Windows7 vista 32 intel celeron.

Mouse has fresh batteries and worked fine before the restoration.

Thanks to you all.

I have two vertices of the Tower, I went ahead a flip floped mice and voila both worked.

Thanks for your help. KUTGoodWork.

  • Mouse Vista freeze for mobsync.exe (Microsoft Sync Center)

    Hello

My Vista system had mouse freeze for 10 or 15 seconds every few minutes for some time now, too long for me to start simply undo the restore points. I read what is on the net about others who have had the same problem and tried many patches, but without success to get rid of or even change the problem.

I have a MS optical blue USB mouse, running on an ultimate Vista update install on a Dell workstation. Gel mouse is often coincides with the hard disk activity, so I tried to decommissioning and anything that may run intermittently the hard disk in the background, but once again without any effect on the problem of indexing.

Recently, I brought up the Task Manager and left open. A few minutes later when gel mouse happened again, I saw "mobsynce.exe" appears in the list of processes, and then disappear a few seconds after the mouse resurrected itself. That's what happens whenever the mouse crashes, at least on my system.

I had never heard "Microsoft Sync Center", and read on this subject on MS gave me not a lot better understand why it's popping in and out, as if it were. I tried to turn off all the files and readers, without changing the frequency of freezing.

MS wrote of Sync Center can not be disabled or uninstalled. I have not all attached to my machines, I know mobile devices. I am on an intranet home, and I have the HP MediaSmart Server on this network, as well as some other machines.

In Sync Center, I have nothing that could be stopped to be synchronized, no evidence of errors, etc. Its only function on my system, seems to be to freeze my dozens of mouse of times every day.<|:-)>

Anyone know about this feature from the center of synchronization and how to behave and leave my mouse only or even what the devil Sync Center is supposed to be for? Is there something to do with it being a USB mouse that makes the Center Synchronization think to check for "synchronization"?

As part of the 'trying everying that everyone has suggested on the net regarding the mouse Vista freezing problem', I have installed/uninstalled drivers for this mouse mouse, but also using some generic driver for Vista is here. No change to anything. I have not tried switching to the a PS/2 port, but only because what I read just said he is indifferent to the problem.

Thanks for your help with this.

    For all the world's information...

I rebuilt the USB stack and introduced to the mouse backwards to a USB mouse. I experienced the same problem as before, gel apparently slightly worse, which makes the mouse unusable. The only solution that worked in my situation is plug the USB mouse with a PS2 port adapter and use it that way. There are still sometimes 'breaks' but not gel, and they may have other causes.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

  • mouse frozen wireless

After downloading Avast yesterday and running a scan, which found nothing, the wireless mouse froze in the middle of the screen.  It happened after a reboot.  I tried another USB port that has not fixed the problem.  I plugged a wired mouse and the cursor stays frozen.  I tried a few reboots, nothing helps.  I went to the Microsoft site, signed and attempted to get a fix, but when I found an object that looked like it was for XP, SP3, it wouldn't let me access the page.  So, I don't think the Microsoft site helped me again.  Can someone tell me how to operate with a frozen mouse and give me a solution for this?

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in the Microsoft Community Forums.

According to the description of the problem, it seems that the mouse cursor frozen after installing Avast antivirus on the computer.

-Have you checked the mouse on different computer?

This problem could be due to Avast antivirus. I suggest you follow these methods and update us with the results.

Method 1: I suggest you try to download and run the Fixit tool and check.

Automatically, he diagnoses and fixes problems with the hardware. (USB) Keyboard and mouse are not detected by the Manager of devices or when they do not work.

Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows

You can also check out the link and check.

Troubleshoot a wireless mouse that does not correctly

Method 2: Disable Avast antivirus and check.

If disabling the Avast solves the problem, you may be contacting Avast Support and check.

Warning: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Please post back with the State of the question, so that we can help you further.

  • intermittent USB mouse freezes on new install 64-bit

I was recently running Win 7 RC x 64 and started having problems with my cursor of mouse freeze intermittently and seemingly randomly for 3-10 seconds approximately.  Sometimes I could go for an hour without having the problem, sometimes happen several times in a few minutes.  During these blocks, everything else seems to continue to work perfectly - the keyboard works, my apps continue to run--just the mouse does not work.  So I tried another USB port, even another USB connector internal using the front USB ports on my PC.  I tried swapping my Wired Logitech G5 for a Noteboook MS Laser 6000 wireless.  I even dropped Win 7 installed Vista Ultimate x 64 from scratch, all installed on Windows Update, installed the latest drivers for all my hardware and does not install any other software at all.  Nothing helps.  This same PC, with all the same equipment and without new software in progress other than updates, installation worked very well without this problem since Win 7 RC first came out and before it was running Vista Ultimate x 64 very well for well over a year - and then a few months ago before I suddenly started seeing this problem.

I read through tons of discussions on the mouse is frozen on Vista, here and elsewhere, and I saw these symptoms over and over, but nobody seems to have a real solution.  There is nothing in the event log, I can't identify any consistent trigger the problem, I can't catch anything suspicious in the Task Manager, when it arrives... I don't know what else to try.  My motherboard is peeling all of a sudden?  Some update mess up something?  It seems to everybody that it is a 64 - bit problem - which seems to be most common in the forum messages... same Logitech support says they have a lot of reports for 64-bit systems (my Logitech mouse is out of warranty or they would have made an exchange of material, but I don't see how that would have helped).

Anyone have any ideas?  For everyday tasks, it isn't so bad, it of just time for a gel to be boring, but not so long to be disabling.  For the game, it's absolutely a killer (literally... Eh_bien, almost).

    -Jesse

    I found this suggestion, tried, and so far Ive not had any problems. Its still a little early, but thought I might suggest so it while I remember;
    http://www.BlackBerryOS.com/forums/Resource-Center/2038-Windows-7-Vista-USB-fix-bmerdinian.html

    I tried method 1, so far with lucky;

    Method 1

    * For Microsoft Windows Vista (and windows 7)
Click on start and type device manager in the start search box.
Click Device Manager in the list programs.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.
In the Device Manager dialog box, expand Bus USB controllers.
Right-click USB root hub, and then click Properties.
In the USB root hub properties dialog box, click the power management tab.
Remove the control to allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box. Repeat steps 1 through 4 for each listed USB root hub in Device Manager.

If you do it manually, it lights automatically come back after the restart. To do this he constantly do as shown on

  • MS Wireless mouse cursor freeze in XP

I was getting a random freeze cursor 2 or 3 times a week for a month and a reboot might solve the problem. Yesterday, cursor freeze happened and a restart had no effect. I changed the battery, no change. I replaced the mouse and receiver with one another; no change. I rebooted in Safe Mode; no change. In safe mode, I activated Avast and have a full scan; completely clean except that he told me that he could not access some files. (???) I am not able to select Start scan from Avast because I can't select it due to a frozen mouse. I also checked settings hardware for USB mouse and made sure it was allowed. ; no change.

I didn't notice if there is a particular application that caused 10-12 freezes last month; I don't think that's the problem. And last week I perform a full scan and a week before a boot scan. the two returned without problems. I am running in XP Pro SP3 on a desktop processor Intel Dual who otherwise worked perfectly for months.

I can get to the window of the hardware system, but I need to be able to move the mouse around the screen, so I choose option or file boxes to remove mouse drivers and re - install.  I watched keyboard command lists and none seem to say how to move the cursor by a few (or a few hundred) pixels; only "end of a line, etc...  Is there some these combo keys that allow moving the slider of distances involved to # essential features or the period of ownership of the keys?

    Hello

Yes, I already had all these checks and found no problem.

I just installed a PS2 Mouse and now my cursor MOVES!  But I decided to do a rootkit virus scan before anything else (AVAST).  It may take a few hours to complete then I won't be able to do any further testing until tonight...

  • Keyboard causes Vista hang on startup/gel when it is plugged

So I seem to have a rather unusual problem.

When I boot vista and my Wired USB keyboard Logitech is plugged, Vista hangs at a black screen after that bar loading screen and my optical USB Wired mouse green turns off (in safe mode it seems to hang crcdisk.sys).  If I don't have my wired keyboard but I have not my wired mouse Vista starts fine but when I try to plug in the keyboard Vista crashes and I can't move the cursor.  It doesn't seem to be a work autour: if I leave the mouse and the keyboard unplugged and plug them in to at about the same time after that Vista starts, both work very well.  In fact, I can unplug the keyboard and reconnect it back with no problem.

I recently bought a new hard drive and had to install Vista on it.  This problem appeared to occur at the time, I installed SP1 and persisted in my current state to SP2.

I tried to update the drivers while the keyboard works by both windows as well as search download driver of Logitech Web site.  I do not have another keyboard I could try, but it worked well before re-installing my Vista and works fine on my laptop (which is running XP).

    Any ideas?

Of course, looks like it's maybe the keyboard if the drivers are up-to-date.

  • locked mouse-pointing device

I have a locked or frozen mouse on a Paviliondv5 2129wm. How to unlock?

    Hello

First of all, check if the double clicking the top left of the touchpad will allow it - see the document at the following link.

    Configure the ClickPad.

If the above does not help, shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Let windows load fully before checking if the option to double click functions.
