HP 15 laptop: factory reset problem

I have my laptop HP 15 factory reset and it has been said to 99% for four or five hours now. What is a normal process or should I just wait it out until he finishes? I have my computer laptop factory reset because I could not remember the Windows password to connect to the computer while I was put in place.

That doesn't look good... a couple hours but goes on five hours is something serious goes wrong. Maybe you should order the HP factory recovery disc and try again. I think that something has gone wrong here.

  • Get a "Cannot find the files needed" error while trying to do a factory reset on ASUS zenbook.

    * Original title: "can't find the necessary files" Factory reset problem Windows 8

    Hello

So I just bought an ASUS renovated online - zenbook that came pre-installed with Windows 8. There is some unnecessary programs from ASUS on it and the computer worked quite slowly, so I'm trying to do a factory reset, but when I try, I always get the message "Unable to find the necessary files" and then it asks me to insert the installation disk or media, but I don't have one of those. I tried to go to the command prompt and doing reagentc/Enable, but every time I try I get the message "Windows RE image is not found." Then... I don't know what to do and really need help.

    Thank you

    Hello

I understand the inconvenience caused to you.

To remove unnecessary programs provided by ASUS, you can uninstall programs and features.

Here is the link for more information.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-CA/Windows-8/uninstall-change-program

If you reset the PC, all your PC applications will be reinstalled. So, I wish that you contact the ASUS support for assistance to eliminate programs and get the recovery disk to perform the Reset if you want to do it again.

ASUS also provides the partition recovery for certain laptop models, you can check with them and try to reset the score itself.

Hope this information helps. If you have any other questions about Windows, please let us know.

  • truoble factory reset

I have Windows 8 and I was doing a my laptop factory reset to get rid of viruses and start from scratch, but when I clicked the button to all delete and reinstall windows then click Next and he said he was preparing, she appeared with an error saying "cannot find the required files. I havef you support Windows recovery or installation, insert and reboot the PC in the media. "But my computer did not come with any media, and I've tried everything I can think of, but it still does not. What should I do?

There could be a recovery integrated manufacturer, image which is common, especially these days (it's why your computer did not come with a CD).  I recommend you contact the manufacturer to ask if they have a factory built-in image or if they can send you / provide a download link for your image.

  • Factory reset wireless router connection problems?

    Hello

I recently did a factory reset on my HP6745f desktop running Win7 sp1 and I don't know if my problem is with HP or Linksys/Cisco (my router). I already contacted the support Cisco who reported the problem seems to be "a matter of HP, a corrupt driver or other third-party issue" and then offered to help, for a price. I'm hoping to avoid that if possible.

This office computer is directly connected to the router via an Ethernet cable. Cisco software was that I want to install that 'control' of my router (called Cisco Connect) and when I try to install the software, I get a message saying: "We could not find your router" (that's why the software will not install) - although I am accessing internet through that router. Even if I try to enter my network name and the password, it cannot find anything. I am also unable to access the router via my browser "168.198.1.1".

I am unable to connect wireless with the same desktop so, my 2 wireless laptops have no problem of connection at all, which leads me to believe it's something specific to my desktop pc.

The Cisco Connect software has already been installed on my desktop and it worked fine. I guess my question is: someone has any suggestions for me? This could be a driver problem? How can I identify what (s) for 'check '?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I thought about it! My router can use a "network key" to connect other computers to the router. I guess when I reset my pc all this info has been removed and the router could not communicate.

I have just created a network key on a flashdrive USB of my laptop, plugged the USB in my office and hop, I reconnected properly. Thanks for the suggestions, I really appreciate the help.

  • Laptop HP 15-g019WM: factory reset

Product delivered with Windows 8.1 (not sure if 32 or 64-bit).  Try recovery for a friend who isn't technically able.  Recovery HP to factory using a complete factory resets using all DVD 5, created during the initial setup of the machine.  Have since upgraded to Windows 10, but that the upgrade can be done again after a reset complete.  Am page preparation of Factory Image Recovery and I have the lines of reformatting and copying the files audited.  Progress goes to 12% with 18 minutes from the end and process freezes (several attempts and still freezes 12%). After a long wait, an error message appears indicating that the target drive is not connected.  Tempted to use a DVD player external as suggested in a tech forum, but it did not work as the system cannot read from the external drive. Is there a solution to this problem, which does not require disassembly of the machine to take the external drive as suggested in another tech forum?  Or is it a clean image DVD set which can provide HP that won't cause this problem.

    Hello

The machine originally shipped with Windows 8.1 64 bit (home).

If you wish to order a replacement set of media recovery for Windows 8.1, you can make from then on the link below.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/mediaorder/HP-15-G000-notebook-PC-series/6545564/model/6761879/softwareitem/819421-001/STEP1

Another solution, if you intend to upgrade the laptop for Windows 10 once again, would be just to perform a new installation of 10 - as the machine has been previously upgraded to 10, a hardware profile (digital rights) will have been saved by the activation servers.

As long as the previous installation of Windows 10 had activated Ok after upgrade from 8.1, you just create your own installation media and perform a new installation as described in the guide on the following link.  Note: On the activation screen, select "I don't have a product key" - Windows will activate automatically once installation is complete.

  • Factory reset on laptop

I want to reset my laptop to factory settings, but first of all, I want to know how not to remove my Microsoft Office license, because I used the last of them, and I'd rather not buy more. And also how to create a kind of discs of recovery or system recovery for all my photos, music and documents, with out having a CD player that works (reads all discs and wants to format them?) and that I could also use to share these files when we have a new computer in the next 3 months.

I have an Acer Aspire 5315 with Vista

Please let me know if you need more info to answer my questions.

    Hi kfox79,

    1. What is the problem with the CD drive on the computer?

    2. you receive an error message when you insert the disc?

Do a factory reset, you will need to contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer for more information that this can be done using the partition recovery or recovery disk.

Windows complete PC Backup creates abackup image, which contains copies of your programs, files and system settings. The backup image is then stored in a separate location from the original programs, settings, and files. You can use this backup image to restore the contents of your computer if your hard disk or an entire computer ever stops working. You must create a new Windows complete PC backup image every six months.

Packard Bell is a Dutch manufacturer and a subsidiary of Acer will help so I don't need to waste money on recovery discs.

    Good evening everyone

Could someone please help in a process that could help tracking? My Lenovo laptop running Windows 8 had been trying to run a factory reset and, unfortunately, while left unattended, my younger brother accidentally shot the cables, resulting in my now... current portable computer damaged screen. I left my laptop Lenovo intact and charged through my diet (Yes, I removed safely the internal battery) for more than 24 hours in his supposed factory reset process. I'm unable to view the entire screen and reading a part of the legend that led to believe me that my laptop is in a phase of repair? My current attempt must connect an external monitor to my Lenovo laptop and the caption "D - SUB POWER SAVING MODE" APPEARS. There may be ways to substitute this mode or could someone help please I can find myself having a restless night without solving my unfortunate situation.

  • problems printing e-Studio 160 / factory reset

    Hello

I have a multifunction Toshiba Copier e-Studio 160. After trying to connect to an office network and off it, I lost the settings I had set up on my Copier. Now whenever I use the copier I get "cut" copies; I mean that the copies printed by the e-Studio160 do not include all of the original.

Does anyone know how I can set up border printing or how do I do a reset?

    Thank you very much.

I see that no one was able to provide a solution to your printing problem.

I found e-Studio 160 manuals (manual Local and network operator)
    http://www.Eid.Toshiba.com.au/n_manuals16-160-20-200-25-250.asp

I recommend you to consult these documents. Probably you will find the details in these documents how to print borders, or how to do a factory reset
