HP 2311xi monitor screen scaling

Have a HP 2311xi flat screen monitor and all was fine, until that I upgraded my operating system to Windows Pro 8.0 8.1 Windows Pro and now my monitor screen size about 1/2 inch black screen around all the edges of the screen.  Everything was good with Windows 8.0 and filled the display properly shape edge to edge.  I went to the monitor and under Main Menu display controls; Image control; Customer scale; "Fill screen" and "fill Aspect ratio" grayed out and unavailable. The only option is "Overscan" and who give me 1/2 border black thumb or cause the "overscan" and put the part of the screen available off the screen. In use HDMI as a source of input to the screen, however, I got no problem with is Windows 8.0.

In addition to return to Windows 8.0, all suggested fixes for this issue.

    Hello

    1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?
    2. What is the brand and model of the computer?
    3. is the question happens while accessing a particular application?

Try the following and see if it helps.

    Method 1:

I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the display driver and check if it helps.

    Uninstall:

    a. Click Start, type devmgmt.msc in the start search box and press ENTER.
    (b) in Device Manager, expand the display driver.
    c. right-click on the display driver and select the option uninstall.
    d. restart the computer and then install the latest drivers from the manufacturing site and check if that helps.

Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly:

  • Smaller with the 2511 X HP monitor screen HDMI cable?

Hi people, I have a desktop HP p6230f, Windows 7 64-bit o/s and a GPU ATI Radeon HD 5770. I had no problem with it until last night. Finally, I changed my DVI cable connecting the monitor to the computer during an HDMI cable.

I have a picture of a 1 "wide black on three of the four sides of the screen! For example; If I drag an icon on my desktop or one of the items in my sidebar to the outer edges of the screen, they begin to disappear behind a blackened by the section of the frame of the screen about 1 "of the actual plastic mount that make up the structure of the entire screen!

Now that 1 "size approximate but the width of the glass of the monitor is 21 3/4 but I can get about 20" of the real, usable, the screen display and 12 1/4 inches monitor glass vertically measured I can get about 11 1/8 inches of usable display! This means that I get less of 23 "usable display when measured diagonally.

I already checked the monitor to the HDMI settings and I don't see nothing wrong in the settings of Windows 7. I'm about to reinstall the driver for the monitor, but I seriously doubt that will work.

Also, I noticed that all my fonts and size of my desktop icons are smaller than they were before the change. I know how to enlarge them all but the problem is that they seem to keep back to the small size when I shut down the computer and start it back up.

Now, it is possible that the problem is not related to the HDMI cord and I'm only note this 1 "black frame on each side and the top of my screen for other reasons unrelated to the monitor HDMI cable.

So yes, I'll reinstall the DVI cable and see if that makes a difference, but even if it does, my question is; Why this would happen when connected to the HDMI cord, (I will also check the drivers of the HD 5770)

    Thank you

HAH! It wasn't my imagination! Just when I was about to throw in the towel and admit that I was imagining all this and he went even to pull demand for assistance on the site I found the problem.

For those who can run in this one day in the future, the resolution is in the "AMD Vision Engine Control Center" . I had lost my settings because I got an error of starting due to my inability to follow directions on a USB HUB, I added to the system last night*.

On the left of this Panel of the user is a number of adjustments, you can do on a good many things involving graphs including the monitor you are using. Just click on the box entitled 'My digital flat screens' and Tin the drop-down list, click on "Options of scaling (Digital Flat Panel).

You will see a slider that lets you adjust the scale yourself, or you can put a check in the box and have done automatically. If you use the cursor like I did, drag it over to the full adjustment right up to '0% overscan. As you do that you will see on the screen grow to fill the entire display window, (every 25 inches diagonal of it).

That's all! Click "Apply" and you're done. This issue is resolved.

** (that's another story, but the short of it is that you do not want to add devices to the HUB USB FRONT that the new hub will load its drivers!).

  • Problems to project a PowerPoint presentation (2015) for external monitor/screen/projector

I have a problem with PowerPoint presentations (2015) on my MacBook Air (Early 2015). When I go to the slide show-> game start, or when I click on the shortcut at the bottom of my document presentation button, I get the speaker on my mac book but not slideshow on the external display. My background image appears on the external display. If the computer and the monitor are communicating properly. My computer is selected as the control view. When I go to slide show-> Set up show, the external monitor is selected for display. The only way I can find a way show presentation is to select 'Swap poster' view of the presenter, and then go to the external display and select monitors swap to switch back. Another weird thing. If I mouse over the slide in the main presentation while in speaker on my laptop (none other than the background on the external screen image), the presentation gets confused and attempted to show the screen of the speaker AND presentation both on my laptop. Help! PowerPoint presentation is an important part of my work, and it gets really annoying.

Thank you for all the ideas/solutions!

I had the same problem for two days with two different projectors; a NEC and Epson. The only way I could make it work was starting up in 10 Windows via Parallels and the opening presentation. Everything works fine through Windows 10. I hope that Apple will release a fix soon! I don't like to run Windows, any more than I absolutely have to.

  • HP pavilion 23-b225d while a monitor screen

    Hello

I just bought a hp pavilion 23-b225d all in one office.

the seller told me that the monitor is monitor full hd LED, so I bought it but when I get home.

I checked again with the HP official website, it is said "(23-inch) LCD screen high-definition display.

now im so confused. in fact, the screen is LED full HD or hd LCD?

    Please confirm. thanxs much

According to the specifications of all-in-one HP Pavilion 23 - b225d desktop , the screen is a "58,42 cm (23 inches) high-definition LCD display.» It is a Full HD (1920 x 1080 resolution) screen with a wide viewing angle field.

Almost all flat screens HD are the LCD. Almost all flat screens LCD need a source of light, called a "backlight". This 'backlight' can be same edgelit LED, LED or CCFL (fluorescent). In addition, some manufacturers use the term WLED (white LED) instead of LED. Today, most lighting is done with LEDs, and quite possibly your screen is an LCD display with LED backlighting.

Don't let the terminology trip you :-)

  • Qosmio F10: Monitor screen looks like a photo of Andy Warhol

I currently have problems with my screen resembling a picture of Andy Warhol. I resorted to pass through the product Recovery DVD-ROM for my laptop Qosmio F10/G10 in the hope that it back to the factory would solve the problem but it didn't.

The screen falls down after the Windows Welcome screen, leaving me with my office all Andy Warhol as (i.e., blocks of colors pixelated on the edges of the graphics). I tried to reset the resolution which has solved the problem to an almost acceptable level, but on a temporary basis, because the problem reappears again when I re - start the laptop.

I think it's something to do with the Windows Multimedia operating system that came preinstalled on my computer (so no recovery disc). The reasoning behind this assumption is that I put a DVD movie in the media which is part of Windows XP and the film is a video of Andy Warhol.

I put the same DVD in the WinDVD which came as a content of Toshiba and the DVD is perfect! My reasoning is that if there was something wrong with the hardware of the laptop, then DVD playback all programs would react in the same way, but as they do not, there are programming (or operating system problem).

I'm on the right track? Is there a way to solve the problem via a downloadable file?

    Hello

The comparison with the image of Andy Warhol's very funny ;)
However, I recommend you first connect the laptop to the external monitor to check if the same images will appear on the second monitor and run the DVD with Media Center.

I don't know if it has something to do with the BONES of Mr. for me, it looks like a malfunction of the graphics card, but this is only a suggestion.
Have you tried to update the graphics driver? Delete the old and try to install the latest version available

  • Display exceeds the size of the monitor screen

    Hello

I just bought a HP 5208uk (without a monitor). Connected to a (digital) TV via vga on a resolution of 1024 x 768 and dvi on the 1080ix60 resolution (two settings came automatically).

The display of the Office is outside the borders of the screen, regardless of the I use (vga or dvi).

I tried to update the drivers (pc and tv to date), playing with the resolutions (does not work) and using the Troubleshoot utility that tells me all is well.

Please anyone know how I can solve this problem, ideally use dvi?

All the answers, including blind sarcasm, are welcome, and I would be really grateful to be.

    Thank you

    * Bleep *, welcome to the forum.

Well, I couldn't come up with any brainless sarcasm, but here's an idea on how you can solve the problem.

I will try to completely uninstall the video driver.  Sometimes, a new facility from scratch can assign problems.  Then, install the latest driver.  I did this job several times over the years.
