HP dv6 DVD player read DVD not
Hi, my HP dv6 is running windows 7 and for some reason, it won't read DVD. It will read CDs fine anything on them. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver and find other sollutions and so far nothing has worked. Help, please.
The model number is a dv6-6170us and I tried to find updated firmware to update but it seems that I have later. I have an external CD/DVD drive that I bought some time ago. I tried cleaning the lens several times but no progress. I think I'll just leave it be and use my outside for now. If I decide in the future so I'll buy me a replacement. Thank you for your help.

I have a new HP DV6 6184 laptop with a fingerpirnt drive... In the Device Manager it is a yellow exclamtion mark next to it and I can't seem to activate either.
Hello
First, download the driver installation of sensor of validity on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.
FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp52501-53000/sp52664.exe
Then, open Device Manager, right-click on the entry with the yellow warning triangle and select Properties. Click the driver tab and then click on uninstall Manager.

HP Pavilion DV6 DVD disc not recognized and the media player does not work
My HP DV6 is having... issues. Windows 7. A little history:
Recently (2 months ago) he quit the installation of the updates of Windows and would download 3 whenever I stop. HP support could not help or Fix - It programs work. Had to restore it to factory default and that solved THIS problem.
Reading card camera (which I have done before) attempted recently, but he did not read / was not recognized. Today, tried to launch a DVD, and when it does not start automatically, I discovered that it is not recognized.
Tried HP Support Assistant, who told me that the model # of the DVD drive that I was using, then proceeded to say there was something wrong with the driver... and he couldn't fix it.
More? (Windows Explorer, not Internet) will be often expire or crash...
I have Norton Internet Security with live update and have yet to have virus problems.
Any help or questions greatly appreciated!

Equium L20-264: CD/DVD player can read but not burn discs
Hi all
I need help. My laptop cd/dvd driver does not recognize the discs inside. It only happens when I try to burn a disc. She can read but not burn the discs. What could be the solution? I tried different brands, the last time it was Maxell. The manual suggests Mitsubishi discs, but I'm not sure that it only works with the Mitsubishi discs. It can read any kind of disc.
So I'm in trouble, please help.
THX
GaborHello
In the manual, you will find a list of media recommended because this media has been tested and were working properly.
However, I use TDK CDs and DVDs and it works as well.
Juan suggested in another ad that sometimes 3rd applications or DVD copy locks are responsible for some driver problems:
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=12497What I mean is that it is not easy to give a generally the solution of these problems.
You should try different media, burning software and if it doesn t work so it s is a malfunction of the equipment. In this case, you will need to replace the drive. -

You should check with them before moving to the next steps. After checking with you computer manufacturer, try to run the new hardware wizard to scan. The instructions are below:Click "Start" > click on "Control Panel" > double-click "Add Hardware".Answer that the device is already connected and allow the system to scan.If your system has not yet found your drive. my dvd player reads all movies what do I do to get it working.
my dvd player reads all movies what do I do to get it working.
I had this happen to my DVD player recently. The problem was that the disc I was trying to see it used a copy protection system is not yet implemented by my DVD player. Normally, I don't have the DVD player connected to the network, so he had not received the updates of the firmware since I bought the player. After that I connected it, you download an update of the firmware and I could see the movie.
My recommendation to you is to see if the manufacturer of the DVD drive has an update of the firmware of your player on the website of the company and, if so, has it, then test again.

DVD RW drive (e :)) don't read do not all disks)
I have a Dell Studio Windows Vista. The DVD RW drive (e :)) does not.) Regardless of the type of disc that I put in, my DVD player does not recognize. When I go to 'My Computer' to open the disc manually, a message appears telling me to insert a disc, even if it is already inside. In addition, when this message appears, it ejects the disc I have here. I did everything. My computer is up to date. I went to the only Device Manager update my CD/DVD drive and it is already up to date. I don't know what to do from here.

DVD Player Toshiba laptop not recognizing discs
My DVD player portable Toshiba Satellite M300 no longer recognizes discs. When a disc is inserted, the player turns on but does not recognize that a disk has been inserted. I have read that it is a problem with the installation of the Vista SP2 but unable to find a solution. Can anyone help?
It is unlikely to be caused by the software (Windows), but is much more likely to be an optical drive down (hardware). Try to start with a bootable CD/DVD, your installation of Vista/recovery DVD for example (do not run recovery!) or a Linux Live CD. If the reader does not recognize the drive outside of Windows you will know for sure that the material is bad. Contact Toshiba technical support for replacement in this case. the correct registry entries for your car. Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
the parameters.HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE
