  I had a problem with my Tecra laptop. The fingerprint sensor does not work since yesterday. It also disappears from the hardware Manager. I tried to reinstall the utility, but the setup.exe will not run successfully.   You can try a BIOS update and set the default BIOS. If it still does not appear in Device Manager, the player is maybe defective or there is a connection problem. I'm guessing that the laptop is still under warranty, you may have to send the laptop to a Toshiba repair center.

• HP DM4-2070US fingerprint sensor does not work

  I have a HP DM4-2070us, and the sensor does not work. I reinstalled Win 7 Pro 64 bit with all the drivers of HP and all updates from MS, but the HP Simplepass software will not recognize the drive. I uninstalled the driver and Simplepass software and reinstalled both using all versions listed for my model on the support page of the HP drivers. The drive is correctly listed and shows installed in Windows 7 Device Manager. I installed another unit of material Validity Sensor and still the same issue.

  Yes, so apparently the software downloads & driver from HP support was insufficient to restore the function of sensor of fingerprint on top a new installation. It's a machine on which someone had partitioned and formatted the drive. I cloned the drive from an another DM4-2070us with the original configuration of the software and then it worked. Thanks for the suggestion.

  Hello everyone I am currently having problems with a dv7 HP Envy, I am running windows 8.1.

  I had a little trouble with my original hard drive (physical damage) and had to replace it, of course I lost my HP restore partition and all additional drivers that come with it, is it possible to get? And also I can't seem to use my biometric device because I have no HP simeple pass, I tried to download one of the other post, but it didn't work.

• Tecra A9 - fingerprint sensor does not work

  My Tecra A9 is less than 2 weeks old. The first day, the fingerprint sensor worked for a few hours. I registered three fingerprints. Since then when I drag my finger, 99% of the time it does not recognize or gives a message 'too short', although I followed the steps in the tutorial.

  There is a window where you can test the fingerprint sensor trying to drag prints. I asked the other two persons, of different ages and gender, to try it, but very rarely is he not successfully registered printing.
  My call to the support wasn't very helpful because I was threatened with charges of £35 if they find nothing wrong with the hardware. As a normal user, is not what it says on the Tin.

  Has anyone had the same problem and managed to resolve it. If so, how? If not, are there other people in the same situation?

  It's very strange. I didn't notice any problem on my Tecra. Please start Fingerprint Control Center and check the first option that it fingerprints. Under registration or change fingerprints, you will find option run interactive tutorial with exact explanation how to use the fingerprint sensor and your fingers correctly.

  To be honest, I do not think you have a hardware or software problem, but you must be careful how you drag your finger.

  I had to do a re-installation of Windows XP Pro on my laptop, so I need to re - install Manager security HP protect tools, fingerprints and credential manager and driver fingerprint sensor authentec fingerprint.  When I go in the Credential Manager to save my credentials, a fingerprint check is not an option.  When I was able to connect the Manager of credentials the image of the fingerprint sensor is there but it is blurry, the tab "References" under "multi-factor authentication" authentication by fingerprint is "unregistered" and the button register is blurred, so I can only click on properties.  Help!...

  I Don t know what software you have installed on your system and how is your configuration, but if you've already tried this steps you mentioned while it should the next step be a full recovery from your system with the recovery media that shipped with your machine.

  Don t forget to back up your data on external media. ;)

  Go to start-> type devmgmt.msc-> press on enter. Make sure that the device is not in the list. If not, contact Toshiba support - it may need a replacement.

  I recently reinstalled my Windows 7 bits and also installed v8.30.0049 ThinkVantage Client Security Solution and ThinkVantage Fingerprint Software 5.9.5 on my T410s.
