HP Envy 4500: vertical dark lines on copies

Printing is fine. Printing/scanning ran doctor-all ok. All copies have dark vertical lines from left to right through the entire page. Have cleaned the glass, any ideas? Thank you.

Hi @maggiethewif,

I see you have found dark vertical lines on copies. I will definitely do my best to help you.

I would like to do a hard reset to see if that will solve the problem.
Let the printer and disconnect the printer cable and the wall socket for 60 seconds.
Reconnect the power cable to the output of the printer and the wall, and not a surge protector.
This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

Clean the glass Strip to the scanner ADF ADF white plastic strip, the scanner cover and the scanner glass.

Update the firmware of the printer. HP Envy 4500 series firmware update to improve performance of the printer.

If the problem persists, please Contact the HP Support for help. Check the model number and the form to receive a file number for faster assistance.

  • HP ENVY 4500 - won't print all the lines

    Hello

I just bought and installed my new HP ENVY 4500 printer. Facility set to be ok.

HOWEVER, my first test prints look all the same: only 1 all 3 lines is printed. This sounds like something only black ink lines.

I cleaned the printhead, I got out and reinstalled the black ink cartridge. But the problem remains.

No idea how to solve this problem? (not really the best start for a new product HP...)

    THANKS for your help

  • Black vertical lines through copies self-powered

I have three all-in-one, Officejets 5510, 5610 and 7130. They all worked perfectly at first, but over time, each has developed the same problem.

When I put a document to copy on the glass, I get a clean copy. But, when I auto-feed it upwards to photocopy, copy comes out with a vertical black line on the length of each sheet copied about 3 inches from the left side. What is this and can it be resolved? When copying multi-page documents, it probably would be nice to use the automatic feeding system and get a clean copy!

In the area of troubleshooting the HP site, I see only references to the white lines. I have the black!

  • All-in-one HP Envy 4500: printing a Web page

The procedure to print a web page has changed all of a sudden.

Until today, it's simple. I clicked on the print icon in the bookmarks bar. This launches the print dialog box. I then clicked on 'Préférences' to select the print quality and finally on 'print '.

Today, I wanted to print confrmation of a command line. When I click on anything that is in the print dialog box, another window open.

I managed to select my printer, but when I clicked 'Print' nothing happened. In addition, I could not any setting beyond the number of copies and if you want to print on one or both faces. What is going on?

    Hi @hbf1842,

What is the new name of the printer now listed as default printer in devices and printers? (Like 4500 or class envy 4500)

If the class driver is installed, it would be a preinstalled Windows driver and it should not the automatic option to duplex. You will need to remove and add the urge to 4500.

If you still experience problems, uninstall and reinstall the printer software again.

The HPePrint driver is automatically installed with Windows 8. Just make sure that it is not selected as the default printer in the future.

  • HP ENVY 4500 e-all-in-one: / reduction on desire

I have HP ENVY 4500.  How do you reduce a copy?

    Hello

    His manual (page 35):

In the copy menu, press up and down to select among settings.
Paper Type: selects the paper size and paper type. A framework of ordinary paper is printed in normal plain paper print quality. A parameter of photo paper will be printed in the highest quality of photo paper.
    ● Resize: Actual size made a copy that is identical to the size of the original, but the margins of the copied image can be cut. Resize to fit makes a copy which is centred with a white border around the edges. The resized image is enlarged or reduced to fit the size of the output document selected. Custom size allows you to increase the size of the image by selecting a value greater than 100%, or reduce the size of the image by selecting values lower than 100%.
    ● ID Copy: Allows you to copy both sides of the IDENTITY card and in the print paper.

  • HP Envy 4500 will not print computer

    Hello

My HP Envy 4500 works perfectly for some time now.  Unfortunately, it stopped printing from my Dell laptop, running Windows7. It scans to the laptop very well.  It copies fine, and it prints from my iPhone fine.

I've reviewed a ton of messages and tried many things:

    * Uninstall/reinstall wireless (at least 8 times) - via the website https://123.hpconnected.com/activate/woobe/ENVY4500

    * Uninstall/reinstall via USB

    * ran doctor utility printing/scanning (or whatever it's called) and says it all looks very good

sending a test with a HP tool page is fine, however, the internal test via the tool HP Print page fails

I'm losing my mind and would be really grateful for the help.

    Thank you!

  • HP Envy 4500: HP envy Wi - Fi printing and 4500 - half page only

I'm trying to print from my HP envy 4500 from my top of Dell Windows 7 Desktop Professional.  I only get half of the page and the printer never ends the book, so I always have to pull him out.  It's so weird, because all my HP printers before the pages flew and I always pick up out of the ground.

The amount of data, I get a page can vary - sometimes a few more lines than the other.

Sometimes I get the header of a page on another page background (for a while I thought it was a problem with the paper, but this can happen many times even with a few pieces of paper (no stuffing).)

I turned on and off several times and still no luck.  Please advise!

    Hi @kwhitebuy,

  • HP ENVY 4507: Envy 4500 only prints a PDF from PC

OK, so this is the 4th or 5th time I posted on this useless printer. Now for almost 6 months. And 3 different HP printers. I can only print from PC in pdf format. If I select a word doc or printing online. The printer icon loads and that's it. It does nothing else. There is none of the queues. I'm so fed up with it. I will never buy a HP item ever. Includng the desktop PC, I was sold as a gaming PC. With a 545GT graphics card. I can barely stay on the line as overheating but it's a whole different story lol., I just want to do what I did with each printer ther I used. Press on print and it prints. Why are there 2 profiles? Series 4500 and 4500 networking. I have uninstalled re-installed and tried all the work around known to humanity. Wil still only print to PDF files and nothing else. Please can you help me. This is my last attempt to fix this printer. In the case of failure embarks on a garbage depot. I used to promote HP products, but not more. They have dropped the ball. Cheap and nasty with components not conforming to standards hidden inside the material. Made in China is a big attention I'm afraid.

    Kind regards

    Mabrouk

    Hi @zookeeperz,

I read your post and see that the printer will only print the PDF documents. Usually, it's the opposite. I want to help you.

You use the latest drivers? Here is a link if you need it. HP ENVY 4500 e-All-in-One Printer full feature software and drivers series.

If the printer is listed as the 4500 series and the networking of 4500, then most likely the USB and a network driver are both installed for the printer. It is in the devices window and printers?

Download and run the print and Scan Doctor, he will diagnose the problem and could solve it automatically.

I suggest to install a generic driver to see if you have the same results.

On the computer, go to start, devices and printers, right-click on your printer and select printer properties.

Click the Advanced tab and click new driver, and then click Next.

HP Deskjet 9800 by selecting in the list or the Deskjet 990c printer, click Next, Finish, and apply the settings.

(you can always go back and revert to the original printer driver)

How is the printer connected? (USB, Ethernet, WiFi)

What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (she print or scan, error messages)

If you appreciate my efforts, please click on the "Thumbs up" button below.
Please let me know the results. Thank you.

  • install the hp envy 4500

I have a new HP Envy 4500. I installed it and on a laptop with Windows 7, everything works as it should. I'm now trying to connect another laptop running Windows 8.

I go through the steps, following the instructions on the supplied CD. When I get to "enable - continue we Line" I get a message saying "check internet connection and try again.»

The laptop is connected to the internet.

Any suggestions on how to complete the installation?

    Hi KiteFlyer,

I see that you have any questions, fill out the installation for your craving for 4500 on your computer Windows 8. I'm sorry to hear that, but I will certainly do my best to help out

When the installation gets to that point, and gives you the error, you are able to open Internet Explorer and navigate to a Web site and click on a link?
If your laptop is wireless you are able to connect directly to the router/modem during installation to ensure it does not lose connection or something like that?
How far are you from the printer and the router when you run the installation?

You can try to use the HP printer installation wizard to install the printer as well and see if it uses different results.

I hope hear from you soon!

  • HP Envy 4500: story of registered printer

Is my HP Envy 4500 record (keep track of) my printing business (number of copies, BW or color, etc..?)  If so, is that the information available to me as the owner and main user?  How?

I belong to instant ink program, but HP is not interested at all in telling me my printer activity - just when I need to send them more money.

    Hello

Thank you for using the HP Forums

You can actually print a printer status report where it will show you "print usage information" and other information.  It does not show you the number of pages BW/color but just the total number of pages printed.

    Generated the report:

    1. in the front panel of the printer, go to 'tools '.

    2. Select "Printer Status Report" to print.

    Check out the video :

  • Scanning/printing with envy 4500 problem

We had our combo printer for about 6 months... we had a problem with the printing of our laptop computer after you install the software. When you try to print, the dialog box shows the printer is offline, but it's not. We also have the software installed on our desktop. My question is, we are limited to a single computer for this printer and not both? If so, this is not cool. I have run diagnostics and just, it will not help. I uninstalled the software from the laptop and reinstalled. It worked today, but now I can not scan from my office. What is the problem?

    Jack

    Hi @radiowizard,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see that your HP Envy 4500 printer is indicating that it is in offline mode. According to another post, you run that Windows 7 is that correct? I'm happy to help you with this problem of connection!

This printer has USB connection or wireless connectivity options. If you wireless you can print with several computers, if computer USB and then one at a time.

Please consult this guide, "Printer is off-line" Message appears on the computer and the printer does not print: Windows 7.

Hope this guide clears things up for you and have a wonderful day!

  • HP 4500 Envy: "HP Envy 4500' prayer or do not feel

Hello, I had a recurring problem with my HP Envy 4500 while trying to print double-sided PDF files. When I print the PDF with Adobe Reader, it seems to print fine, but later I realize that certain lines were left while the rest of the text printed fine. I am printing the child math book, and because it seemed that the page was printed very well but I knew that more late missing things in the page (after that I had already paid to have the spiral it all related )

Switch to Mac preview to print the PDF, I don't have the problem of the lines being omitted, BUT usually only about half of the document will be printed before you cancel itself, or starts printing the wobbly pages. For example, last night I printed 100 pages double sided very well and then it suddenly cancelled work. When I sent it to print again, it would do only a few pages (refused to double-sided more) and they all had this Burgundy/green/purple bar at the top.

I turned it all off last night, came back this morning and it does the same thing. I installed the new ink, downloaded the latest drivers, updated all the software, restart the computer, and it always does. This happened to me before and for some reason it will stop eventually and print what I want, but in the meantime I'm wasting a LOT of paper, a lot of ink and a lot of money because I pay on the instant the ink program page. It's extremely frustrating. Any suggestions?

Have you installed the HP software from a disk or download it (look in your Applications folder)?

    If so, uninstall it.

Then download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907

    Restart your Mac.

    Now, reset the printing system:

-Go to System Preferences > print & Scan
-Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - This will remove ALL your printers!
-Select the sign more to add a printer. Select the default tab on the top of the window. Search for the printer, select it, and then beside the dropdown 'Use', select the model of the printer (not AirPrint). Wait for the 'Add' button becomes available. Until it clicks.

    Hi @realestatejeann,

I see that you have found one black vertical line when using the ADF. With a few steps, we should be able to solve this problem.

Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

Here is a document for the cleaning of the glass Strip and the underside of the scanner cover.
