Incoming faxes

Incoming faxes can be routed directly to the PC (such as .pdf documents) (similar to scanned documents) instead of being printed?

Printer is a Photosmart 7525/cz046a

Hi kvetch.

Unfortunately, archiving of digital fax to PC is not supported on the model you have (Photosmart 7525).  This function is currently only available on most of the OfficeJet models.  I hope that you will continue to find your Photosmart precious for you, however.

  • Where is my Officejet 7410 incoming Fax go?

I created my old Office jet 7410 to work with a new computer running Windows 7 Professional.  I downloaded the appropriate software (I think).  Scanning and printing to work perfectly.  Work of outgoing faxes.  Incoming faxes are different. The rings of the machine, said a fax was received.  Printing newspaper also said very well received fax. PROBLEM: no regular paper has printed.  I don't know where or not at all its stored.  Try reprinting of memory and nothing is displayed.  Searched my C drive and nothing there either.  Where is my fax machine? How do I actually print a fax machine?

The problem has been fixed... everything that was needed was a line filter.  Once I got one from Radio Shack and plugged in, faxes started coming thru!

I've just set up my new printer. Although my fax is configured to accept incoming faxes, he can't get them automatically. If physically, I press the button "I agree", the fax will come through. I checked my settings to make sure that I put it correctly to respond automatically, but it will not. What I am doing wrong?

    Thanks in advance, Tracey

    Hi Tracey,

First of all make sure that the phone cable is connected to the port 1 on the back of the printer and not badly connected to the port 2EXT line.

Then click Fax, and then click the icon or settings button.

Select Preferences, then select auto answer and make sure that it is set to.

By the same preferences menu Select a distinctive ring and make sure it is defined as all the rings.

Now follow and verify if the fax automatically accept incoming faxes.

  • Do not feed paper for incoming faxes, officejet pro 8600 premium

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium.  Recently I started having a problem with my incoming faxes.  An incoming fax comes through, and when it will feed the paper to print, it shows on the screen that it is paper.  He goes through the process of trying to feed paper through and makes the sounds, it does usually when I am out of paper in the feeder, but I'm not.  It prints and copies fine.  Just having this problem with the incoming fax is not able to print.  Help!

Too bad!  I found the problem.  This is a printer 2 bins and sort my incoming faxes were trying to feed from the 2nd drawer (which was empty).  I have no idea how the setting has been changed, or how to restore it, but I'm not worried about it, now that I know what it is.  I was able to print any faxes that never came through (all 24 of them, Ouch!)

    Thank you!

  • Fax does not recognize the incoming fax signal

Fax does not recognize the incoming fax on Officejet 6700.

    Hey Bills6700,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

To not recognize the incoming faxes, I've included the document "cannot send or receive faxes. I know that's not the exact error message you get, but the steps will always help you.

If you are still having the same problem after troubleshooting, could you please answer the following questions.

1 is on a dedicated phone line fax machine, or is it shared with another phone?
    2. are you using a separator, or is plugged directly into the phone jack fax line?
    3. the phone cord is plugged you need two wires of copper at the end?
    4. do nothing missing on the fax test report?
    5. do you have an answering machine (physical box), or voicemail (you must call to access your messages)?
    6. What is the rings before answer on?

Please let me know the results for the troubleshooting steps.

    Thank you.

  • OfficeJet pro 8620: how to set up printer to turn on automatically when you receive an incoming fax on a dedicated line

I want to configure my printer to turn on automatically when receiving incoming fax. Do I have to leave power or can I change the setting to turn on automatically with each incoming call. He is a dedicated fax line that is not connected to my computer. Also there is a sleep mode, the power led remains on when you use the sleep mode?

    Hi @mcqwats,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see you want for your printer HP switch automatically when an incoming fax arrives. You have not the possibility to activate the automatic answer - on, but the printer must be turned on so that this function executes.

There is however no way to set the preferences to activate the printer when it is off.

I hope that answers your questions.

    Thank you

  • 6700 Offiejet incoming fax in color will not print. How can I change this?

The manual and online 'help' each say to change the incoming fax print option but do not say HOW TO DO THIS!  This work through the control panel of the printer or online or WHAT?

    Hello spahjrp

What I found in the manual which has been if ECM (Error Correction Mode) is selected color faxes cannot be received or sent. Try to check if it is on / off. If off try toggling the option.

To change the setting of the ECM from the control panel

    1. from the home screen, tap (right arrow), and then select Setup.

    2. press Fax Setup, and then click Advanced fax setup.

    3. Select the Mode of Error Correction.

    4. Select on or off.

  • Digital fax on computer - when the computer is offline, what is happening to the incoming fax?

I have the HP all-in-one Officejet Pro 8600, and it is on the network.  I recently put to save incoming faxes as digital files on a computer on the network and it works perfectly when the computer is available.  My question is this: what happens to incoming, if the computer is offline or unavailable fax (as if someone shuts down the computer)?  I want to just make sure that faxes are not 'lost', and they will be printed or recoverable in some way.

    Hi Memjay,

I understand that you have an Officejet Pro 8600 that you put in place the digital archiving of faxes to a network folder, and you have just a question about it. I will do my best to answer this question for you!

If your computer shuts down, and the printer had to receive a fax while it was turned off, the printer should hold that fax in memory (can generally hold up to about 30 pages in memory) and then when your computer is back on and pull has refreshed (generally set to 5 or 10 minutes) faxes in memory should appear in the network on the computer file. This document of setting up digital fax HP to save faxes received on your computer has a before you Begin section that explains just that ideally, you want to leave the computer at any time, but once again the printer there little memory to contain faxes until the computer is back on and looking faxes again.

I hope this helps to answer your question, have a great day!

    Hey @dvd57,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you have some problems with the fax to a folder of your 8620 e-all-in-one printer Officejet 10 Windows PC. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Once done:

    1. Turn the printer off.
    2. While the printer is turned off, disconnect the power cable from the back of the router for a minute and reboot your PC.
    3. When the lights come back on the router, turn on the printer.

Please let me know if this allows fax to send to your PC. If so, please click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: officejet pro will not automatically print incoming faxes & answer

I have a brand new Pro of Officejet 8620.   When I receive incoming faxes, I must be at the printer to press the ACCEPT button on the LCD screen.  I put the printer/fax AUTO ANSWER.    It did not work.  Any suggestions on how to have the unit automaticlly answer & print incoming faxes without having to be in the machine when machiines phone line rings.   I put the machine to meet Telec.  It is not set to meet incoming voice communication.

Thank you for your informative reply!  PROBLEM SOLVED.  I was able to access the HP phone support people yesterday afternoon.  They very kindly put me through many of the steps you mentioned, that didn't work.  Finally the second support officer who got me the steps I have press the RESET button in THE SETTINGS on the LCD screen by DEFAULT and immediately after this step, solved the problem.

My suspicion is that the machine, although that brand new, was in fact a refurbished machine sent to me by HP to replace the original purchase, which had a LCD screen showing only Chinese language that could not be changed.

The replacement machine probably had been implemented at the different use of mine.

Thanks to the lady who finally suggested hit the RESET button to THE DEFAULT SETTINGS as well as other people who responded!

    Everything is fine!      Aaron

  • XP Pro fails route incoming faxes to a remote printer on XP Home

On an XP Pro system, I activated the fax in the fax service. I routed incoming faxes to a remote printer. The printer shared from a XP Home System. When a fax is successfully received, the fax is not printed. The fax remains in the queue of the fax in the task of routing service, and two messages appear in the application (attached) event log.
I can print the fax manually by clicking the fax and choose print. Because I can print manually, and because the fax service runs Local System not like me, I suspect it's a matter of how the printer is shared. But sharing printer on the XP Home system options are very limited: shared or non-shared.
    Someone knows the solution?
