  • OfficeJet Pro 6830: Installed new ink cartridges on 6830, but they were not full

I've been using this printer for about two years now, been through "Print head problem" for both, they exchanged once and replace only the part once.

My ink colour C, M and there were emptied at the same time, so I ordered all three in an online store. I installed a few minutes ago and check the ink level via the touch screen of the printer. It turns out that they are not quite complete. They are almost full, C and are close to full, but M is less complete.

I wonder why this happens? I never checked the ink level in the past, but it surprises me. The printer makes some kind of calibration and printhead cleaning to get ready installed ink? (So consumed little ink)

I scanned the QR code on the side of boxes of ink and checked the hologram stickers and pretty sure that they are genuine. The printer also said that they are authentic.

Here is the picture of my ink level. Shot after installation of the cartridge and nothing printed.

Another strange thing is the date of installation. Now it is April 4 in my country but the web printer configuration page shows cartridge installation date is April 1! I checked the date and the printer and everything is OK.

If the cartridges have been used before, the printer screen would show a message that cartridges have been used on another front printer. I saw only me because I kept the old ink before trading in the past as I said up there.

    Please see a screenshot below

Everyone knows what happened? Or it's normal? (The packaging and seal in plastic cartridges seemed fine, nothing suspected weird)

    Thank you.

    Welcome to the HP Forums

    @BlackMiracle,

I came across your post about the concerns that you have with the help of your new ink cartridges and I wanted to share my own suggestions. The date being out for a few days is a bit strange, but the rest seems normal. Yes, when you install the cartridges, they are calibrated and alignment and clean, that uses a bit of ink. The levels that you see are also "estimated" levels If there are print quality problems or error messages, let me know and I'll do my best to help.

    I hope this helps!

  • 3636 Deskjet all-in-One: ink cartridge is Deskjet 3636 configuration necessary?

The black cartridge for installation provided with my printer all-in-one Deskjet 3636 recently bought is defective. My printer does not recognize the cartridge. I followed all the troubleshooting steps, including turning on/off the printer and the cleaning cartridge, however, nothing works. What the configuration required to install cartridge? The color cartridge is recognized and the printer is connected wireless. The only issue I'm having is the black cartridge. Could I buy a regular black ink cartridge and use it for the first impression?

Yes, you must use cartridges for initial Setup configuration and operation of the printer. The best way to solve this problem is to put the printer in return for Exchange.

  • HP Photosmart D110a: defective HP ink cartridge

Installed a new HP 60XL official black ink cartridge in my printer HP Photosmart D110a.   Error messages immediately began to appear.  I've deleted and reinstalled several times.  Went online at the website of HP and tracking all the troubleshooting steps.  My printer will not accept the new cartridge.  Help!

    Hi joymossmiller1,

Since you bought the cartridge hp shopping that I recommend that you only click on the link at the top of this page titled "Ink & toner.  Go ahead and find your cartridge and put in your cart.

You will then see an option at the bottom of the page with a photo of a young woman with a helmet on.  You can click this help and either chat or ask for a phone call.

HP.shopping should be able to arrange a refund or Exchange.

    Good luck!

  • How can I find unused since my Officejet Pro 8500 ink cartridges?

My Officejet Pro 8500 had a leak of ink all over the floor and my office yesterday morning when I first turned on.  When I opened the top to check the printheads, I discovered all ink inside the printer.  I think we just need recycling.  My problem: I have 5 UN-opened of HP #940 ink cartridges.  I would return to HP and get the replacement cartridges for our different printer, but do not have how to find out if this is possible.

  • # 61 HP ink cartridges: HP nine 61 black and tricolor cartridges are defective

I have a brand new game (61 black and tri-color) ink cartridges that are defective. They do not print properly when installed on my printer, I still have my receipt and the expiration on the box is August 2016. It must be deefctive cratridges because I bought new cartridges and they work fine.

How can I return it for a refund or an excvhange? Thank you.

The store (Best Buy) said I have to go through HP for the Exchange/refund.

You mention Best Buy so I guess you're the Canada or the United States.  If they are HP cartridges (not third party rebuilt or filling) and then call HP to 1-800-HPINVENt.  If you reside outside the United States or the Canada see contact information here.

The guarantee for cartridges is separate from the printer warranty.  See here for more information on the cartridge warranty.

  • HP PHotosmart 5520: HP Photosmart 5520 no black printing; I'm out of $58.99 for the HP ink cartridges that I can't use

So after stopping my printer print in black ink, I came across the forums looking for the problem. I tried all the recommended / suggested "patches", nothing happens. To realize that it is a known problem with these printers, and after talking with a HP technician by phone who informed me that the printer is broken, I spent the rest of my morning trying to find someone at HP for please compensate me for the $58.99 I spent on HP ink cartridges I can no longer use or return - it was only after I installed new cartridges that I learned the printer is Broken - in order to buy another HP printer. (I have been perfectly willing to buy another HP printer because the 5220 has been very good for us).

The best they could offer me was $17 a $99 replacement printer that is off * not * compatible with new ink cartridges I currently have. Then, after my calculations, this would be 58,99 $ + $82 = $140,99 to be able to print again.

    Not exactly a lot, IMHO.

Very disappointed with the HP customer service.  Will not buy products more HP.

I would like to please mark it as "resolved".

After posting my question on this forum, I was contacted by an army of knowledgeable, helpful HP of the people who have worked hard and quickly to help me and solve my problem. Compared to the frustrating help/customer service I received through call HP, it's like dealing with a completely different company.  In hindsight, I regret to have never wasted my time trying to solve my problem by phone, but to be honest, I've posted my question here of frustration, not expecting any resolution, but rather an opportunity to evacuate.

What happened after I posted here is, indeed, a very pleasant surprise.

I was put in contact with a representative of HP who gave me a discount on the purchase of a new HP printer (which I got yesterday) and with his help have also made arrangements to return my ink cartridges (still expensive) open but little used in Exchange for a set of new compatible with my new HP printer cartridges.

Just what I was looking for was for HP to support their products - who loved us and we served well and were ready to buy again - and ultimately, they did it just to our satisfaction.

Thank you very much to all those who helped us.

  • HP Photosmart Plus B210A black ink cartridge will not print

I have an HP B210A Photosmart printer. Windows 8 operating system.  Recently, I replaced all ink cartridges, Black XL.

Now the black does not print.  The printer recognizes the ink is there but not print during a test, as the other three colors.  I went back to store & exchanged the cartridge for me even if I had bought all four colors together.  Installed the new one and it still does not work.  Has gone through the process of the online help where they want me to buy an another print head, but that doesn't make sense to me.  The products are HP, ink # 564.

I wouldn't get rid of this product because of it.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Of course, out of warranty.

    Hi PaulieG,

I understand that you have a Photosmart B210a printer that is printing is no longer black. I'm sorry to hear you had to deal with this, but I will certainly do my best to help you with this problem.

I recommend you all first that you have a look at this print quality paper to ensure that no steps have been omitted in this document. You can also try the steps outlined in this document 'Print head problem' or "Print head seems to be missing or corrupt" Message appears on the computer to clean your print head manually. Then, in a last effort, if these steps do not help, you can also try a suggestion from Bob_Headrick to soak your printhead.

Hope this helps, have a nice day!

  • new out of the box, all the ink cartridges damaged or missing error 8500

So, I just got the officejet pro 8500 wireless. follow the instructions in game. at the start he said that ALL the ink cartridges are missing or damaged. I have a hard time believing that, if something is down or I missed something very basic in the installation program.

I tried to remove the cartridges and re - install. Also checked that they are in the correct order. Don't know what to try next.

Well he chalked it up to random mishap. I installed the software to see if she said something more useful. not a lot, but he pointed out that he was missing all the cartridges. I went back and exchanged the printer. the replacement is fine.

  • HP OfficeJet 4650: Ink cartridges HP Instant

    Hello

I recently bought this printer to take with me to the University. I've set up ink cartridges HP instant around September 16, for a while, I was unable to connect my printer to the internet, so I brought a home router. My laptop, printer and telephone are all connected to the same wi - fi and they will print stop no problem but when I go my instantaneous count of ink HP he always tells me that the printer is offline and cannot update to tell me how many page I used. I don't understand why it won't refresh and says that it is offline when it allows to print from my laptop and wireless phone. I wonder if you can give me advice.

    Thanks Grace

At least two times a month should work.  Please mark my post as solution accepted while others can find it.

  • HP ENVY 4500: Ink cartridges HP Instant

I just bought a map of the HP Instank ink. I'm about to use the first black cartridge, but I still have another cartridge new color I need to use. I start support fully if I use only one cartridge?

    Hey @EMJ-00.

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you have some questions about the instant the ink program. I can help you with that.

When you print, the system determines if an instant ink page is printed according to it there a moment cartridge in the printer. If you insert the black cartridge, your only color pages into account. My suggestion is to insert two instant ink cartridges and save the color cartridge for emergencies.

Please let me know if that solves your problems. If so, please click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.
