Install Oracle Grid

Installing the Oracle grid (11 g R2) on SUSE Linux 11. When the installation program has reached the required configuration step check, it displays an error:

The following packages are missing:

libstdc ++ 43 - 4.3.3_20081022
libstdc ++ 43-32-bit - 4.3.3_20081022
libstdc ++ 43-devel-32-bit - 4.3.3_20081022
libgcc43 - 4.3.3_20081022

Where can I get them?

Hello

What version of Oracle im trying to install? 11.2.0.1?

Try with 11.2.0.3 (download full installer to MOS).

Since you have a more recent libstdc ++ I guess that you can safely ignore this error and proceed with the installation.
If you can not go forward, try to call the installer with - ignoreSysPreReqs

I would not replace libstdc with an older version.

    I had to be a little more in a bad mood and just tell you to go read the concepts of RAC cluster and come back and give us the answer to your question, but you and the people asking for such a configuration need to understand what is GI/clusterware... It is a mechanism of communication systems by OS level whereby each system aware of others and they share elements between them such as shared disk devices and memory structures. So the answer to your question is NO, you can have as a GI/ASM ONLY, installed in a cluster. Period. That's like saying I want 2 cores UNIX running in the same system.

    You really need to come back and start with the manual of concepts Oracle RAC and ASM concepts (do a search on google for "ASM under the hood" for a thorough ASM)

    As you mention oracle suggests using different user for grid, asm, etc. Thatsgood path if you have only 1 db. But for me its coz not usable, I have to manage more than 300 db if it is difficult to give the user DIF. for each facility, it makes my job more complex. I hope I can show you my index

  • Issue of INS-35354 when installing Oracle RAC 12 on infrastructure Oracle Grid 12

    Hello

    I am trying to install Oracle RAC 12.1.0.2 one node installation on Windows Server R2 2012, but the installer told me:

    'Valid [INS-35354] the system on which you try to install Oracle RAC One doesn't not part of a cluster.'

    On the same server I have is installed and running Oracle Grid Infrastructure + ASM.

    I don't know what is missing the installation program, which is possible to register? The installation program does not provide which had not passed the specific audit.

    Thanks for the tips

    Hello

    A CCR node does not mean that you install the grid infrastructure in a single node and install a base of a RAC data on this node.

    Basically, a concept CAR is similar to active passive clustering to provide high availability. To have a node database RAC upward and launched, you will have to install clusterware on at least two server by selecting the option during the installation of the IM.

    Pls follow the below post for detailed answer

    INS-35354: validates the system on which you are trying to install Oracle RAC not part of a group when installing a 12 c RAC node database

  • Oracle Grid installed... so?

    Hi everyone, this is the scenario, I have successfully installed Grid and has been installing Oracle db, shared file system got plenty, because using vmware had no idea how to fix it, tried to add space and that damn this drive shared.

    I had to remove this disk sharing and then added again, because the vms system had not yet been put into service, have added 40 GB of new shared space and then started the nodes/vms.

    Because the grid was already installed and good too, it is not let me reinstall.

    Can someone please help here, how check/check and proceed to installing Oracle DB, verification of cluster tool has tried, it is also not running.

    Checked the fabric of asm, they look good, please help, how do I move/move on forward? kind of stuck here.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    If you want to use EM 11 g Grid Control on 64-bit Linux, you must install the 11.1.0.1.0 version, which is available here:

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/OEM/grid-control/downloads/linuxx8664soft-085949.html

    Note that the latest version of the EM is 12 c; However, if you still want to go with EM 11 g, the following support note documents the installation steps and has references to other useful notes:

  • install Oracle 12 c and migrate data from 9i to 12 c on Solaris

    HI: this is a primary control to check IAM step by step.  I need to migrate the server Oracle 9i (Solaris) to 12 c (Solaris) to the customer request. I have the instruction of installation YES from the team, the draft plan is:

    1. install Oracle 12 c binary on Solaris Server

    2 exp/imp, method to move data to 12 c 9i.

    Should I create a database "empty" by script until I use the exp/imp method to migrate data from 9i?  Or, is it better to use the option 'create the single database instance' in YES during the installation of 12 c, then exp/imp?  How about the "plug-in database" or the "CBD/PDB' concept to 12 c?  It's still new and I am not master familiar with it, that I have to use all "CBD/PDB' 12 c or not?

    Any problem that I need to know?

    Thank you very much!

    You have your point of disagreement, but it is the best approach of guys Upgrade Oracle, google for Mike Dietrich blogs on updates. And your concern that make upgrades does not allow you to practice, well, you could easily make a few tests on my upgrade on a test environment, I really don't agree with your point here...

    Sorry - but I agree with the ground.

    Anyone who still uses 9i has some questions SERIOUS architecture dealing with totally outside the DB and data. There is just too much features auxiliary available (e.g., ASM, GRID, EM) which did NOT exist in 9i or substantially changed.

    It is also a non-starter, IMHO, not to recommend as an upgrade to 11g without even knowing the 9i version that uses OP. A direct upgrade to 11g is NOT possible since the first versions of 9i. So if such a version uses OP they couldn't make a direct upgrade anyway. They will need first to upgrade to the last version 9i and then level it to 11g. Then, they should adapt to 12 c.

    Then you must take account of the need for BACKUP:

    1. PRIOR to starting to do something

    2. AFTER the upgrade to 9.2.04

    3. AFTER the upgrade to 11 g

    4. AFTER the upgrade to 12 c

    Compare that to the approach of that ground is recommended to use export/import. There is NO need to save the source DB at all since the process will NOT change. Simply a backup after upgrading to 12 c.

    The requirement is due to the EM dependency on partitioning, which is an option of EE.

    EM 12: Enterprise Manager Cloud control 12 c requires a repository database Enterprise Edition (Doc ID 1438655.1)
