J6480: duplexing on j6480

Since installing win 10 win 7 duplex printing does not work on my J6480 all in one. I have the last available at HP installed software HP, but still no luck. I checked all the usual suspect as a control to ensure that the function has been enabed and it is still not working. Does not print a face. Someone at - it other ideas or is this printer just too outdated to work properly? Like I said worked as advertised with win 7. Thank you

To deny any possible hardware problem, try to copy a duplkex work by pressing the copy menu and double copy layout, then make a copy.

If it fails also try removing and reconnected the duplex unit and check for the difference, made me know if you still encounter additional problems when copying.

If the copy work, try to set another pilot as follows:

  1. In Control Panel, select devices and printers.
  2. Right click on the printerand, select printer properties.
  3. The Advanced tab click new driver.
  4. Follow the steps and select HP and the HP Deskjet 6940 / 6980 printer.
  5. Complete the wizard and try to print using the printer updated, you will see no difference?

Kind regards

    Hey @mjmorse00,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you have some problems with the all-in-one printer Officejet J6480 after reinstaling on your Windows 7 PC. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Once done:

    1. If the printer is connected to the printer via a USB cable, remove it.
    2. Close any programs you have open.
    3. Click on start and open devices and printers.
    4. Right-click on any icon of your printer listed.
    5. Click on remove the instrument.
    6. Repeat for any other icon of your printer listed.
    7. If you removed the USB cable, connect.
    8. Click on add printer and select your printer from the list.
    9. On the screen that asks you to select a driver for your printer, find the driver for Deskjet 9800.
    10. Continue adding a print to your printer queue.

Please let me know if that solves your problems. If so, please click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

  • Error message "Duplexer" is not installed on J6480

I recently bought an Officejet J6480.  The printer is connected wireless to my router so I can use the printer with my laptop, but I use a USB cable from my older desktop to the printer. I am running Windows Vista 32 on both computers.  I had the "default of automatically in"soft stop"power mode" problem (I am aware of the solution to "push the button 'Cancel'" this problem) hoping to solve this problem, I have updated the original (BHM1FN0812AR) firmware to the latest version (BHM1FN0830AR) on the ONLY Office.

I still have the "failure to go into 'soft stop' power mode" problem with computers and am now getting the "duplex module not installed" error message when printing from the desktop (I'm aware of the solution 'click on the button 'Print' on the error message').  I don't get the duplexer message error when I print from my laptop which still has the original firmware.

Anyone know if the PS_AIO_02_110_008.exe (1/1, 15.97) Print Driver Update that resolves this problem in the 7280, would solve this problem on the 6480, without causing other problems?  Uninstall the HP software on my desktop and put it back to leave the disc would return to the original firmware so solve the problem of error duplexer?

Thanks for any help you are able to provide.

The firmware is installed on the printer via a computer, but once installed in the printer there.  Both computers will see the new firmware of the printer once it has been installed from any computer.

I suggest to install the updates available here and here.  For the other printer models, I saw reports that temporarily to install the printer on USB and then change to the network connection can solve the duplexer not installed no error message.  (I guess you went to the folder. printers right click on device J6480, properties settings, installation options, and then assign the duplexer installed, OK.)

    Thank you

    Meantime2013

    Salvation Dragon-fur,

I have uninstalled and installed the software of the printer for the fifth time and for the first time, I actually saw J6480 on the registration page. Settings of the printer turned on and the automatic was still missing.

I also checked "HP Officejet J6400 series properties" and found an option that did not previously exist under device settings.

Options installable unit duplex (for 2-Sided Printing) was put to uninstalled.  I changed this option to installed and finally I automatic two-sided printing.

Thank you once more for spending your time to help me.

    Hey @extremelyP,

The 'Send Fax' screen was to appear, it doesn't appear that you have added the driver for Deskjet replacing portion of your printer Fax. Normally, under devices and printers, you will have two copies of your printer. The first example would be the real printer driver. The second copy would be the Fax from your computer's fax driver part. In saying this, I will just cancel you it that we just finished and test print. If the printing problem persists, we will add the driver replacing again and things must be a lot smoother.

    Step 1: Remove the driver:

    1. Open the display Start by selecting the Windows icon at the bottom left of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows key on the bottom right of your keyboard to the left of the Ctrl key
    2. On the start screen, type programs and features
    3. Click on programs and features to launch the tool.
    4. Under programs and features scroll to the bottom of the list and are looking for your HP Officejet. If you see your printer click on it and choose Uninstall.
    5. Please follow the prompts on the screen to complete the uninstallation. Once the uninstall is complete please close programs and features
    6. Then, please reopen the Start screen. This time type devices and printers. Click on devices and printers to the start
    7. In the file devices and printers, if you see your HP Officejet still listed, please, right click top and select "remove device' or 'Remove'.
    8. Once the device HP Officejet was deleted please click left once on any device used to indicate the heading Printers and fax machines . You just want to highlight the device
    9. Then click on the print server properties at the top
    10. Under the print server properties, click the drivers tab
    11. If you see your HP Officejet driver showing under the list please click on it. Then, click Remove. Click remove the pilot from the box pop up
    12. Click OK
    13. On the print server properties window, click apply and OK
    14. Close Devices and printers

    Step 2: Install the Driver:

Please click here to download and install the driver package for your printer. Once your HP Officejet is reinstalled successfully please test printing. If the printing problem persists, we will still add the other pilot.

Step 3: Adding a driver replacing:

    1. Open the display Start by selecting the Windows icon at the bottom left of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows key on the bottom right of your keyboard to the left of the Ctrl key
    2. On the start screen, type devices and printers. Click on devices and printers to the start.
    3. In the devices and printers folder right click on your HP Officejet J6480 (not the Fax version)

  • Left click on printer properties
  • Left click on the Advanced tab
  • Left-click on new driver
  • When the new driver window just press 'Next' until you see a list of manufacturers on the left and a list of Printers on the right.
  • Select HP as the manufacturer on the left
  • DeskJet 6980 select the printer on the right. Choose HP . If Deskjet 6980 does appear to only select "Windows Update" at the bottom left and once the update is completed, you will be able to select Deskjet 6980.
  • After selecting Deskjet 6980 hit Next to complete the wizard driver new
  • Under the printer properties window, select "Apply", but don't hit not OK
  • Select the general tab
  • Rename your HP Officejet J6480 printer
  • Click OK
  • Then, right click on your HP Officejet again and select printer properties
  • Click the device settings tab
  • Under Installation Options click on the drop down menu "unit duplex (for printing on 2 sides)" and replace the "installed".
  • Once the settings have been adjusted click apply and OK
  • Once the other pilot has been added successfully, please test print to see if the problem is now resolved.

Please let me know if this procedure works for you. Good luck!

  • OfficeJet J6480 continue to feed the blank sheets after the last page of the print document then blocks.

When you print a document on my OfficeJet J6480, once the last page printed, the cradle of the cartridge moves back several times, then one or two white sheets feed through the printer. Sheets then another feeds and jams, requiring the duplexer to be deleted to clear the jam. This happens on 95% of the print jobs sent to the printer.

    Windows XP SP3

Unfortunately, the troubleshooting steps a false paper jam and find a real fundamentally the same.
I included a link to a document that is for a paper jam error. However, I'm sure you did 1st two solutions and if you please go above them, I want you to try, is the cleaning of the rollers and the duplexer and reset the products and checking the firmware to ensure that it is up-to-date. These solutions are listed in the order and you can find instructions step by step in this link for each step. Reset will be particularly important because it is one of the most effective tools to correct the problems of material with a printer. • The J6480 paper jam error message will not reset

I have a sinus J6480 2009 and it's been great!  -After printing 1 doc a transport jam has occurred.  After clearing the jam in the printer cartridge holder, I turned everything back on and a paper jam error message appeared.  I did everything - check all patterns, clean the rollers, unplugged and checked the duplexer - always error message.  Is there a way to reset this?

    Can someone help me please!

    Hello

Maybe a few pieces of paper is still stuck inside. Try the following two and check if any stage of work:

  • 2 Facer function not installed on my J6480 all in one.

2 Facer function not installed on my J6480 all in one.  How to install this feature.  Using Windows 7

You have physically attached duplex unit, but it does not appear in the pilot?  In this case, check the duplexer as described in the Vista/Win 7 Duplex Printing solutions to the problems here.

  • J6480 - paper jam

Have a HP Officejet J6480 AIO with Win XP Pro.  Today the printer takes a job and it comes up saying paper jam, clear and click OK. There is no paper jam I can't find any paper in the printer or the pieces of paper. Removed and inspected the main valve, the ADF, the duplexer and the area of plateau of power. Took a can of air compressed to him as well. Ink tanks are at least half full. Tried a soft reset (No. 3) and a hard reset (No. 6) to the power upward.

I suspect a problem sensor here. Think you folks?

    Hoibie

Another forum since this question has remained unanswered for 5 days...

There are infra-red sensors in the unit at various stages to detect if the paper is still there. One of these sensors has turned so the printer thinks it's STILL paper there. It is also possible that the sensor is still working but the PCB is spent bad sense, that it can detect is no longer.

Short answer... it's probably cheaper to replace the printer. Sorry

  • All-in-one HP Officejet J6480: google cloud print

I wonder how (or if) I can save my all-in-one HP Officejet J6480 printer use Googe Cloud Print?

I had advanced under Chromebook settings then Google Cloud Print and when I click on manage printers he says there is no devices available and I want to register the device.

Thanks for any help with this!

    Hello @CookinCo22 ,

    Welcome to the HP forum.

I understand you're wondering if you can set your J4680 until chromebook.

For a printer can be configured on Google Cloud Print, it must have the functionality of the web services.

Unfortunately the J4680 doesn't have this feature.

If you have a PC or a Mac, you can set up a conventional printer.

The downside is that you should have the PC or Mac turned on to be able to print from the Chromebook.

The positive side is that you can print your chromebook.

    I hope this helps you.

Love my J6480 old all-in-One.  Still works fine, BUT LCD screen has become barely legible.  Strongly limits the use of the features on board.  I would like to replace the LCD screen.  This user is feasible?  Not a ton of HP74/75 cartridges, so don't want to get new printer that uses different.  For a long time, out of warranty, so it's not a problem, to the extent where I enter the inside of the case.
