Laptop HP COMPAQ power supply used on

So I was waiting for my laptop at the end of the updates and I was about to turn on again when it suffice to stop and gave me an orange light on the side where the charger goes, instead of a blue light.

I don't know what its from. It doesn't. When I press the power button, the orange light flashes.

Tilted on its side when you perform updates because I wanted no more heating.

that could play a role.

I tipped it on its right side. He lost for a good 20 minutes.

Any help?

Thank you

Try to remove the battery. Plug in the power adapter and press the power button to see if it lights.  If your laptop doesn't work with only the adapter connected, then either your power adapter, connector dc where the adapter plugs into the computer laptop or systemboard itself may have failed. You can test the connector when it is plugged by moving it gently to see if there is no change.

Is your laptop still under warranty?

It have tilted on the side would have no effect

  • Using Powershell V3 to change the status of the power supply using WS-Management through iDRAC (PE r.620)

    Hi all

I've been playing with WS-Management on the DRAC with PowerShell V3. I wanted to try to see if I could do the simple things. The task that I started has get and change of power on a PowerEdge r.620 State. I thought it would be fairly easy...

Theres a lot written on this topic, but the examples from here

    http://en.community.Dell.com/TechCenter/systems-management/w/wiki/4374.how-to-build-and-execute-wsman-method-commands.aspx

    and here

    http://en.community.Dell.com/TechCenter/Extras/m/white_papers/20206146.aspx

both use WinRM in their examples

I find it quite difficult to understand how I would achieve the same results using WinRM, but using the new v3 PowerShell cmdlets (get-CimInstance, New-CimInstance, Set-CimIntance, Invoke-CimMethod, etc.)

I'm ok, get the basic information from the DRAC using these commands, but I must admit that I am a little lost in how to manage things from the endpoint reference (EPR). Each example of WinRM speak back EPR, then using those of the WinRM method call, but I just can't see how to do this with the new PowerShell commands

IM asking if someone did or has examples of how do?

It would be great if the authors of these documents could provide examples in PowerShell v3

  • SAT L500D does not have to be connected to the power supply until the reboot

    Hi all

I have a L500D, purchased locally and I have a problem that seems to escape correction by the helpdesk of Toshiba. My laptop while operating on battery comes with messages expected that the battery has x % remaining and suggests I plug the laptop into the power supply. I connect the laptop on the adapter and the power of the taskbar icon indicates the adapter is plugged in but it also shows that it does not load (adapter also remains cold, indicating no power is being developed). Low battery messages continue until the laptop stops ultimately. On commissioning again the laptop acknowledges that she attached to the adapter sector and charges upward.

Helpdesk from Toshiba said a new BIOS version had been released and that I should update the BIOS and would probably "fix the problem". Went to the Australian Site and there is no other choice to see downloads for this model L500D [product number], helpdesk then took me on the European site where I updated the BIOS, then spent several hours on the phone with Symantec trying to uninstall and reinstall Norton 360, which ceased its activities and could not be uninstalled leaving my laptop not protected.

Someone at - it an idea of what is the cause and how it might be remedied? Appreciate your thoughts.

    Hello

If you have updated the BIOS and the help of t n right?
Hmm I think that this problem of card mother s that looks like the adapter does not work correctly because everything is ok after new reboot
I think the laptop is under warranty and you should get in touch with a local ASP to discover exactly what s wrong

But I think that it s motherboard related question

  • adapter power supply for laptop DV6 1230us

Anyone know what the output current should be for a DV6 1230us laptop power adapter?

The original power supply has failed and has been eliminated - now, we tried two adapters purchased off ebay, and both overheated.  They were the two 60w and spec'd 3.5 released.  They were the two brands not HP.

The specifications are not available on the HP Web site, and it seems that the good spare HP P/N 693711-001.

We would like to undestand if power supply is incorrect and the origin of the problem, or if there is something wrong with the laptop (which continues to work very well...)

It should be at least 65 Watts (18.5V x 3. 5), but you can use a 90w like this template:

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/original-OEM-genuine-HP-Compaq-laptop-power-cord-adapter-608428-001-609940-001-/181304904317

The models v and 19v 18.5 seem interchangeable, as long as it's the big gun with the centering on the inside PIN. An adapter low power will heat up.

  • HP Compaq 8000 Elite power supply upgarde

I have a HP Compaq 8000 Elite 2010 and you must update the power to launch my new Radeon HD 6850 graphics card. After much research I found that this particular computer motherboard does not have a normal diet of 20 or 24 pins but use instead of 2 separate connections from 4 pins for power supply PWR and PWRCPU and a third cable that seems to me to be an ancient and obsolete 6-pin auxiliary power (http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#aux) for the PWRCMD supply Cable. I also found that all power is carried out through the motherboard for each piece of hardware in the computer and therefor, most likely has a limit for the maximum possible power supply. Y at - it sort of a power supply that will fit both into the slot in the power supply (which is not the standard size of power supply, but rather measures approximately 6 "x 5.75" x 3.75") and will also be able to connect to and sufficient power to the motherboard? Or am I stuck with an ugly 320W? Help, please!

    Maverickv2,

You will not be able to upgrade this power supply, model # 508154-001. It is not possible with these connectors. The most absurd part is that the material (disks) are actually powered off the coast of the motherboard. (As you said).

I understand that if you remove your battery, you can't boot up your laptop.  This is not unusual. some laptops are set up in this way.

I understand that when you have the phone connected and charge the batteries of your performance is lowered.  There is more than one draw powere when it loads to the battery.

Here is a link to the laptops HP - test and calibrate the battery (Windows 7) to ensure that there is no problem with the battery.

Could also remove the battery once you put under tension.

You asked questions on the use of a 90-Watt adapter.  Here is a link to HP G4 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service of Guide.  Chapter 3 page 32 lists not one that is recommended.

    Good luck!

  • Improvement of the power supply for laptop

The danger is that if the power supply cable is knocked out, the circuit board is broken.

The connection of the laptop must be a cone. It could set magnetically or by using snaps.

The laptop having a female cone and cord fitted with a male when cone struck with sufficient force should simply detach without damaging the laptop.

Apple has already patented such a design and Microsoft use a variant of it for the shelf on the Surface.
