Microsoft 3500 mouse not working not properly on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1

Original title: Microsoft 3500 mouse

Hello!

I just bought a Microsoft 3500 mouse and I've met some problems.
I tried to use it on two different computers (a currently running Windows 7 and another one running Windows 8.1) and I get the same result. I plug the receiver, turn the unit on and the green light appears. It stays like this for no more than 2 seconds and it fades. The mouse continues to work as for a minute another and she doesn't move off the coast (not going into the energy saving mode since the blue light goes out and the pointer freezes) so I have to turn on/off the unit.

What can be the problem? May be a driver problem or it's just defective?

Hello

To answer the question, it could be. As you have tried on two different computers, it seems to be a problem with the hardware which indicates a defective hardware. However, you can also test whether it is a problem with the software by following the steps below.

Try installing the latest drivers for the Microsoft 3500 mouse from the link provided below.

http://www.Microsoft.com/hardware/en-CA/p/wireless-mobile-mouse-3500#support

If you download and install the latest drivers does not solve the problem, you can try the troubleshooting provided in the link below steps.

Thank you.

    Method 1:

You can try to start check and clean boot if the problem persists. Clean boot boot will help you know if all the background programs conflicted with the player. A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use with existing restore points system restore utility

For more information about the clean boot, follow the below given link:

    3. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart

    Method 2:

You can try to uninstall the updates one by one in the windows update window and check if the problem persists.

To uninstall the updates from windows update:

    1. open installed updates by clicking the Start button.

    2. click on Control Panel.

  • Qosmio F50 - Fn keys not working not properly on Windows 7

    Hello.

    Install Dual Boot with
    * genuine Vista,
    * 7 RC1 64.

All the drivers are OK on Seven 64 (some require to accept Vista compatibility mod to work properly - ALPS Touchpad, for example), except the Add Package value:
    * No Flash Cards.
    * Panel buttons work fine. Except the Dolby button which does not (beep, but nothing else).
    * Keys Fn work partially:
Bq. -His volume, brightness and a few other basic functions (caps and numlock, etc.) are well recognized by seven. \\-Sound it / off, in sleep & sleep, switch video modes Panel/external, touchpad ON / OFF do not work.
Tried the usual (VAP of uninstall, reboot and clean, restart and reinstall, then restart), but nothing more.
I use the latest BIOS update available.

When we look into msconfig, I saw only one executable file, HSON, islaunched at startup, but is never visible in the process list (even having chosen 'Show all processes users'). Is this normal (because it can launch services/DLLs then stop) or not? I tried all modes (XP SP2, XP SP3, Vista) compatibility and admin rights, but it is not yet launched (or self-closing)...

No matter who with Vista 64 experienced the same problem? Or: matter with Vista 64 a all work keys Fn?
    Any idea?

    Thank you.

    Hello!

The FN, flashcards, illuminating buttons and keys all these special function keys to the Toshiba value added Package.

So it of a bit confusing, but you have a problem with Windows 7 or Vista x 64?

I guess that the VAP does not work on Windows 7 because it s is not designed for this OS and there is no PPV still available for Windows 7, only for Vista.

If you have some problems on Vista 64, I can recommend this thread:

  • I have a problem with the capture tool works not properly on Windows 8.

Can I change to automatically let me start to select without clicking on New?

Original title: snipping tool - work when I start it up, the new button has already been clicked but not at home

    Clarification:

At work, my computer is Windows 7. At home, it is Windows 8. At work when I start the capture tool I have not hit any other button in order to start the selection of the area I want to Snip. The tool is already gray and my mouse is ready to score my selection.

At home when I start the capture tool, I get the menu, click on 'New' and THEN I can start my selection - one additional click. It annoys me (I know it's small, but I cut a lot) so I was hoping there was a setting I could change how it starts.

I know that's not exactly a new topic, but I found that I had the same problem.  I found that the cause of this problem actually comes from OneNote believe it or not.  If you have recently updated your Office Suite and now have the ability of OneNote, all you have to do is to open OneNote and configure.  Once you get it configured you can then select the options that you just press the Windows key + S to be able to cut out a screen shot and you can also set it to copy directly to the Clipboard, then there is no need to tap the new button more in the cutting tool.  Hope this makes sense and helps anyone having the same problems I had.

Hello, I do not know if this issue belong to the material division of the forum. I have an old system who have windows xp sp3. It was working fine until week couple but after a few days when I switched it on the screen is not displayed correctly.

All the colors randomly displays as a spot on the screen and the other letters in a sentence is missing. I tried in safe mode with just visible in debug mode, but it doesn't happen in the journal to the screen. I can not even reinstall windows xp. Now I'm not able to understand if it's the problem of the operating system or a malfunction of certain components of the computer. Please help me.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    Method 1:

I suggest you to start the computer using the VGA Mode.

    (a) restart the computer

    (b) press F8

    (c) in the start menu

    (d) choose the option

    (e) activate the VGA Mode

This option starts Windows in mode 640 x 480 using the current video driver (not Vga.sys). This mode is useful if the display is configured to a setting that the monitor cannot display.

    Reference:

To start the computer in safe mode

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true

    Method 2:

If you are able to start the computer using the VGA Mode, you can perform a system restore to the date where the computer worked well.

How to restore Windows XP to a previous state

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/306084

If you use system restore when the computer is in safe mode, you can't undo the restore operation. However, you can run System Restore again and choose a different restore point if any. You can also create Safe Mode system restore points. System Restore affects the Windows system files, programs and registry settings that have been changed recently. It can also make changes to scripts, files, batch and other types of executable files on your computer. System Restore does not affect personal files, such as e-mail, documents, or photos, so it cannot help you restore a deleted file.

If the problem persists, you may need to contact the manufacturer of the monitor to the stand.

  • Pavilion dv7-6b51ea graphics controller does not properly on Windows 8

    Hello

Since I upgraded to Win7 for Win8 I all right, except that I can't play some games (for example Alan Wake). The graphics are ok on all the cutscenes, but in a kind of negative colors during the game.

I already tried to uninstall and install the back card (not physically). Also, I tried to update the driver, that does not work either.

Do you have someone had the same problem and was able to remedy?

    Thank you!

Alan Wake was working properly in Windows 7?

How the device has been upgraded to Windows 8?  Was it a new installation or an upgrade on the spot?

It seems that the system can have switchable graphics with Intel and AMD.  Was this the driver you have installed?  You mentioned that it didn't work.  He did install the driver correctly and the problem persists or not installing driver fail?

I can't understand what is the cause. I can only select things in the active window with my mouse, I can't move the window, I can't click on anything whatsoever outside of it.

ATM by writing this, I can not open another program or select the bar of tasks or do anything outside that window. (unless I use CTRL-ALT-DEL and force to select a new active window with my keyboard)

Another thing is that everything works within the window, except one thing, menus drop down, I can bring up the menu drop-down but can not select anything on the menu.

I reinstalled windows to do this same thing. I can't understand why windows doesn't let me choose some things outside my main window, it's that I'm sort of protected mode.

    -What is laptop or desktop?
-What is the brand and model of the mouse? Is it wired or wireless mouse?
-Have you tried plugging the mouse on another computer?

Method 1: I would also say you update the drivers for the mouse on the computer and check if it helps.
Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly

Method 2: Also, I suggest you use Microsoft Safety scanner to make sure that your computer is free from malware and check if it helps.

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again. The Microsoft Safety Scanner is not a replacement for the use of antivirus software that offers continuous protection. For a real-time protection that helps you keep your home or small office PC against viruses, spyware and other malicious software, download Microsoft Security Essentials.
Method 3: I suggest you try to check with the other mice to make sure that the problem is not with the computer.

If it is a laptop, I suggest you to check if a FN key function is to to do this. As you are facing the issue after reinstalling the operating system, I also suggest you check with the manufacturer of the computer, if there is this key.

  • Midtown Madness and Midtown Madness 2 works not properly in Windows Vista

Hello, I am a representative of the Customer Service posting on behalf of a client. The concerns of customers is as follows:

The customer has Windows Vista Edition Home Premium. It has installed Midtown Madness and Midtown Madness 2 on that computer. The problem is that it does not work, there, this means that the game is not answer correctly, the winning scores record and do not unlock the next course or vehicles. He has mentioned a mistake, but he was not able to provide the exact wording of it. The error occurs only after a short while when he played two games. He is also the Director, so the solution in KB307091 does not apply.

    Hello

    1. have you it install the trial version?

If it has installed the trial version of the game, whereas he would have all the options available for the game, for that you must install the full version.

If it has installed the full version, then I suggest you to follow these steps and check if that helps:

    Method 1:

Try to run the game as administrator and check if this can help, right click on the game icon and click on run as administrator.

    Method 2:

Try to perform the clean boot, and then check to see if the same problem occurs:

NOTE: When you are finished troubleshooting, make sure that restore you the computer mode normal startup such as suggested in step 7 of the above article.
