My Windows 7 Desktop won't go in mode 'sleep'

My Windows 7 Desktop is not in mode 'sleep'.

First, restart the computer and try again.  It should work.  If it doesn't, try changing your diet plan.  This should allow you to put in standby mode.  Also, make sure you're clicking on the Start button, and then the arrow next to Shut Down or Hibernate and then sleep.  Other tips are available at: http://www.waltwachon.weebly.com

  • SP U400 - cannot return to the desktop after entering in the mode 'sleep' by closing the lid

Satellite Pro U400 V-11 I used for a week. I don't know if this is a problem or I did something wrong. My setting of closing the lid is recording mode "Eve" in Vista.

When I close the lid and open a few minutes later it's ok, I see the password login screen. But if the computer is in "sleep" for a while it does not return to the office when I lift the lid. The screen is black. Fan started working then quiet several times.

The first three LEDs on the left are green. Keyboard does not respond. And also switch / stop does not work either I press once on or hold it. And only after I unplug the power adapter and press the power, it works. But it restarts the system and Windows could not close correctly the error message is displayed.

Is this normal or something wrong with the mode 'sleep'?
    Thank you

    Hello

I read on some of the similar problems regarding "standby" mode and the black screen.
Someone suggested to update the BIOS and the display driver

So I highly recommend it too much
See the European driver of Toshiba page, choose the model right for laptop and try to update the BIOS, then the display driver.

Reboot the laptop and see if the problem still occurs.

    Good luck

  • P2715Q, Windows size and location change after the mode 'sleep'

    Hey

After that the monitor wakes up fashion 'sleep', all the windows are in the upper left corner and in different size just before going to sleep. It makes me crazy. Did not help. Found a few registry hacks key, but it can't be that difficult.

    I use following:

View P2715Q Dell, Windows 10 Pro GTX 1070

    Everything is up-to-date.

Really hope you can help me!

    #update 1

It has something to do with how long the mode 'sleep'. I set the Sleep mode function 1 minute, whereas the display 'falling a sleep' and woke up after 30 seconds or more. Everything was in place.

This isn't a question of monitor. It is a video card driver problem. Tiles from 1920 x 1080 uses two P2715Q sewn together by the video card driver to get the resolution of 3840 x 2160. So if the video card driver is slow to initialize the awakening from sleep mode, all open windows and icons are tossed at top left. We see this issue "tile" on AMD and Nvidia drivers. All you can do is to continue testing video card drivers latest when they are released.

    Workaround solution =
    * Spend 90% of your icons to the taskbar or the far left background
    * Close all open windows before allowing computer standby modes

  • HP laptop (Vista Home Premium) won't wake up mode 'sleep'

My HP Pavilion dv6910us laptop will follow the recommended power options and enter "sleep mode", as you want it or made-to-order... among the STARTUP options or by closing the lid.  However, once he is in "sleep" mode it won't wake up.  The LED on the power button flashes and the indicator on the chassis... but by pressing, open the lid or by touching the keys is useless... he wakes.

To restart the laptop, I have to disconnect power, remove the battery and then connect the power/insert battery.  Needless to say, it causes Windows down and declare an unexpected shutdown during the power upward.  I did the research many resolutions... currently, my best solution is to change the power options so that when plugged the laptop doesn't go to sleep and then if I disconnect I have to shut it down... Rather, I don't have to go through this hassle all the time.

I've followed many troubleshooting procedures... Updated BIOS update... Updated graphics driver... I even tried a "clean boot"... no additional services except for Windows services and has always had the same problem.

    Please... Help!

  • Vista 64 bit won't in mode 'sleep'

    Hi all

Just bought a new desktop with Vista 64 bit computer.  He won't go in mode 'sleep' and is therefore always on.  I tried to contact dell technical support and they said it was a problem of Microsoft/Vista about the transformers containing more than 6 GB of RAM.

How do I get this resolved?

    Hello RobertVP,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft answers Forum.  The question that Dell was referring to involves hibernation, a deeper form of sleep.  Please read this article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base that explains the issue and a work around:

If you just try to get your system to put to sleep, there are some management settings power described in the article in the Knowledge Base you can try:

  • How to ensure the backup of Windows 7 starts and runs until the end on a laptop which is mode standby, or could be put in mode 'sleep' when the lid is closed.

    Hello

Many of us with laptops with Windows 7 would like to ensure that, when a Windows backup is scheduled, it starts successfully and goes to full completion, regardless of whether the phone is first 'sleep', or if the user of the laptop close the lid of the laptop, which would normally the laptop mode 'sleep'.  In other words, how to backup Windows or Windows 7 be configured to wake from mode "sleep" and prevent it from sleep mode, when a backup is scheduled and actively running?

I saw a way to schedule a task that will wake the computer, but I'm looking for something more intelligent than that.  I'm looking to see if Microsoft has already thought this through and allow you to pre-configure operating system such as we have no additional installation software.

    Thank you

    Hello

These are the normal methods to use the process of recovery of the manufacturer:

    1. in a Vista operating system running, using the process of recovery of the manufacturer (Recovery Management, etc.), you use apparently.

    2. to start by pressing a particular key or set of keys (F10, F11, etc) according to the installer from the manufacturer...

    3. using the recovery disks provided, or the recovery discs that you made of their recovery Partition.

If you cannot access or use one of these methods, you will need to ask for assistance from your computer manufacturer while the recovery process is installed by them, not by Microsoft.

    See you soon.

  • Desktop won't start no-of faulty power or motherboard?

    Compaq Presario SR5000/Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit

I had this problem for a few months - the Office doesn't turn back on when I unplug and plug it back and the green light of the power cord blinks. Based on the troubleshooting guide from HP for this flashing light, I was able to isolate the problem to the connector 24 pin main that feeds the motherboard. Whenever I got in this regard, the light was stable. Thus, the last two times I've been able to bring the office back to life by unplugging / plugging the 24 pin connector.

This time, of the power supply does blink everything as long as the motherboard is powered but puts constant green when I get this connector.

I tried the hairdryer mentioned here http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware/Desktop-won-t-start-blinking-green-light/td-p/4467 but stuff that no longer works.

As the POWER light turns off when I have the motherboard power and turns on when I win, I don't know which replace - block power SUPPLY or the motherboard but obviously one of them is the question.

Power supply model #: Bestec ATX 250 12Z

    Thank you!

Power supply failures are much more common than the failings of the motherboard... and less expensive to replace. I have a machine now sometimes, which flashes and takes a few coachig at startup if unplugged for awhile and anticipates a new power supply in the near future.

If you check the specifications and dimensions, you can buy a replacement WHAT PSU to many points of sale, or online at places like Newegg.com or Tigerdirect.com pretty cheap.

You could also first remove the power supply and take it to a place that makes the PC repairs and ask them to test it. I bought a tester of POWER a few years ago that saved many hours of troubleshooting.
