  Just changed routers and now cannot print on Officejet Pro 8000 A809, which is connected to the router ethernet.  On Windows 7, download a message indicating that the printer 'cannot be contacted over the network.  Tried unplugging printer ethernet cords and power and reconnect the Self Test and Configuration network pages printed OK, but still cannot print.

  Before I saw this solution, I decided to try to uninstall and reinstall the printer.  It worked.

  Easy things first.  Turn off the router and the printer.  Turn on the router and wait 3 minutes.  Turn on the printer and see if it connects to your router.  Status?

  If no joy, temporarily disable all security in the router.  Now try to connect the printer to your SSID not guaranteed without password.  Status now?

  If OK, go back and add WPA2-AES with your simple password.  Status now?

  Make sure that your router is set to a fixed channel wireless as the 1, 6 or 11, never 'auto '.  Try channel 1 first and then the other one at a time.  Make sure that the printer and the router are spaced at least 5 feet.

  However, if you have a gateway device (modem + router), all gateway devices are terrible for connectivity and wireless performance.   If this does not work, suggest you put this bridge in full bridge mode device and install your own router of high quality that YOU have full control over.

  Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I understand once that your HP Photosmart 6520 starts in mode "sleep" you cannot send a print job, it does not automatically standby upward.

  Please take a look here:

  The printer into standby mode after five minutes of inactivity to help reduce energy consumption. The sleep time can be changed from the control panel. The printer will wake up mode 'sleep' to print when a print job is sent to it.

  However, the auto power off feature must be disabled. Auto Power-Off turns off the printer completely, you must use the power button to turn the printer back on. You can change the setting Auto Power-Off from the control panel. configuration -Source

  Menu Configuration > other Menus > Eco > auto shut-off > off

  HP lj1022 printer will not connect not not via the USB port after the installation of the new driver upgrade hp lj1020/1022 for Windows 7 (64-bit).   I just bought a new HP printer and set up on my iMac to print. After a LOT of messing around FINALLY got it works, BUT a day later upgrades arrived to update my iOS X 10.9.3 with a simultaneous upgrade of the software driver for the printer. I duly installed at once – but now, regardless of what I do the printer will not work. The computer can be seen as it is showing ink etc. levels and said he printed and I can print test pages, but it has not allowed me to print from Word, Excel, Web or PDF!  I tried to uninstall the printer drivers and reinstall those of the HP Web, which I suppose would be the 'old' - but still no luck. I need this job and am close to tears - any help would be appreciated. I also tried deleting and reinstalling Office for Mac... NB it prints beautifully and effortlessly to my husband's PC.

  I saw your post about not being able to use the printer completely after a few updates. I will do my best to help you with this!

  First, try the following steps:

  1. Mac OS X: how to reset the printing system
  2. Repair disk permissions
  3. Restart your computer
  4. Add the printer: full function and driver-OS X 10.9 Mavericks software

  I put the switches so that the computer does not turn off and Sleep Mode for 15 minutes.  However, the computer go to sleep after 30 minutes and will not wake up!  I have to restart the computer everytime I want to work on that.  It is significant in the end pain when I need to leave for half an hour when I'm working on something.

  I have recommended to you to return Windows 8.1 Notebook, as if updates have not been completed before the upgrade, this could cause problems. The marked Windows 10 upgrade update. No HP upgrade.

  You will need to return the option balanced diet plan options if it's high performance, it didn't wake up from sleep mode.  Here is a link on the mode "Eve" of issues.
