OfficeJet 7310xi router wireless for printing mac?

I have an Officejet 7310xi portable printer and I have connected via a cable or net to my netgear router. On my PC I can see that the printer is connected I activated the print share, and I can print wireless from the PC. However on my MAC I can not function. I tried adding the IP address in the add a printer from the printer section and router box still nothing. The printer works fine with a USB connected, but I can't make it work wireless. Any suggestions?

  • OfficeJet Pro 8715: Wireless sporadic printing

My 8715 Pro OfficeJet worked perfectly out of the box for months.  Now, it does print that sporadically - I can't find the rhyme or reason to when and why it will print.  Have tried to reinstall, update, reboot, restart my router by turning off my firewall, etc.  It will print from my phone (iphone 6s) or my laptop.  It will print a test page when not selected in the printer itself no problem.  Problem started 10/16/16, from what I can tell.

I tried to choose another driver, according to the instructions on another thread, and this has solved the problem for my laptop, but not my phone.

    Any ideas?

Thanks for letting me know that you can print from iPhone now, but still cannot print from the computer, @krcullen.

Download and run Print and Scan doctor. It will diagnose the problem and could solve it automatically. Let me know the results.

Cycle power to the router, computer and printer. Try and access the Web built-in to the printer server. Type the printer's IP in the browser to see if it loads the page from the printer. Let me know.

Here are some more things to check if the problem persists.

Check the address IPv4 of the computer to verify that it matches the IPv4 of the printer address.
Printers and devices, right click on the printer, on the left, click printer properties, select the Ports tab, click on Configure Port.
If they do not match and then close the window configure the Port and click on create a port and follow the instructions in the wizard.

    Type the IPv4 address.
Make sure the printer is online.

    Test the printer.

If you're still having problems, check the address of IPv4 network on the computer to see if the first 3 sets of numbers match.

Press the Windows and R key at the same time, to show the command line run, type cmd, then type Ipconfig.
    Check the IPv4 address.
Now, check the IPv4 address for the printer.
Do the first 3 sets of numbers match?

If this isn't the case, then the printer and the computer are not on the same network.

    Try and ping the printer.
In the same window type ping IPv4 address of the printer. (space between ping and the IP)
    Return all the answers?

Let me know the results. Thank you!

But I doubt if this wireless direct printing can be done while the printer is connected to the network via Lan cable permanately IPV4.  This means I can print from my mobile phone at anytime via Wireless Direct without the Lan cable.  Kindly advice. Thanks in advance.

Oh, which means that you simply unplug the Direct SSID wireless and you should be able to print via your router LAN cable now.

    Hi Spencer,

Thanks for the advice, but it is not really relevant, there is no wifi comm errors.  My wireless access point is not part of the router and the network wifi, as well as my home ethernet network is inside the firewall.  The printer receives an IP address very well, I have a reserved for her on my dhcp server address (same as I do for my sky box, tv etc.). It works fine for everything except customers also wifi. So direct print jobs internet, wifi works from iDevices, printing from a working client wired network, but a client who, also on wifi, falls down. It is a single subnet lan with some addresses reserved and others from a pool.  I made a little chart - the DHCP server is actually in the firewall, which is a computer card. In this case, the laptop also has a reseved for lan and wifi addresses. I have disabled the firewall windows on the home network.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Wireless Configuration - print is in the queue, then disappears. Do not print

I just got the Officejet Pro 8600 as a gift and burden of implementing software and it on my wireless network.  When I try to print an e-mail or a coupon, the command changes to the printer and indicates in the queue. Then after a few seconds, the print queue (work) disappears without printing the document.  This command goes to the HP ePrint feature or the Officejet Pro 8600 network?  It shows the HP ePrint as being on USB.

I have run all the Diagnostics, downloaded all the new software, software packages and updates.  I spend several hours trying to get to the printer.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Hi @bksechols

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support.  I understand that when you send a print job to your printer Officejet 8600 to printing to the queue, then disappears without the printing of the print job.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 don't print Mac

Hello. Initially, I installed the Officejet 8600 and have been using it wireless without any problem on my Macbook Pro (10.6.8). However, my husband was working on my computer and thought it must 'clean up' my settings of the printer by removing what he thought was a printer in duplicate. Now I can't print. I uninstalled the printer, reinstalled, installed a new printer driver, restarted my computer and nothing has worked. In the quene print, it says the printer is connected, but the work just in the quene. Our laptop iPad and dell are all print as usual. No indication of where to go next with this would be very helpful! Thank you very much.

solved.  powered by the router down, printer down, ipad down according to the instructions from HP on another page, everything works now.

    Thank you very much!

Have you tried restarting the Mac to see if the problem persists?

If so, then then you should check to see if the key works.  It could be a keyboard failure.  Follow the steps at the end of this article.

Of course if you have an old keyboard usb located around you could plug it in and see if it works normally too.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600: Wireless direct printing of Photos

I was able to print documents from my Ipad using direct wireless but I'm not a great success in printing photos on paper photo 4 x 6.  I'd be able to do this?   If this is not any other paper in format 4 x 6?   Another device using this printer is Macbook Pro with a wi - fi connection.

    @Garjoy,

You need to install the HP ePrint app.

Getting started with HP ePrint Mobile Apps

Once you are connected to the network printers, open the eprint application and select the photo or item that you want to print.

You will then see a preview before printing with advanced options.

This will allow you to change the paper type and size.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 a: 8500 a plug the USB to the PC and wireless for Mac

Our Officejet Pro 8500 a is connected via USB to our HP Pavilion running Windows 7. This connection works well. However, I tried to connect my iMac (OS 10.10.2) to the wireless printer with no success. If I disconnect the USB from the PC, I can connect wirelessly from my Mac. My question is: the Officejet Pro 8500 a does support multiple types of connections - one by USB and the other by wireless? If so, then I would appreciate help to understand why my Mac is not the 8500.

Other details: our wireless router is Apple Airport Extreme. The wireless connection on the printer seems to work (I can print the details of this connection). However, when I try to add the 8500 to the Mac by using add printer, the printer does not appear. (The printer is lit and shows five bars of signal strength, SSID is correct and a valid IP address).

My Mac is connected to the wireless network.

    Any suggestions?

I was able to solve the problem of the printer with ethernet connection to the router that provides network wireless for PC and Mac. Now two machines are able to access the printer with no problems. By connecting with an ethernet cable, connect the printer wireless has been disabled. It had to be done because the wireless radio had become unreliable. The idea was that the blue wireless light never came. Thus by connecting wired LAN, all problems are gone. • OfficeJet 6700 Premium: Officejet 6700 Premium - Support for direct printing HP (Ad Hoc) wireless

Please can someone confirm if you can set the to either ad hoc printing or using HP Officejet 6700 Premium Wireless Direct. I can't find anything in the user manual.

The situation is that a friend has just moved into his own office with a connection high speed standard with a wireless router, in 'Serviced Offices'. These connections allow broadband to the office and he has to pay for a dial-up connection to the internet.

So he paid for two ethernet connections which probably come out through internet gateway of the complex. However, he lost the ability to print at its 6700 HP that has been previously set up wireless. He tried to install the printer using infrastructure mode by connecting to the network without wire of the complex, but still can not access the printer. It could be that the wireless network is on a different network for LAN connections segment.

The only solution I can think off is to let each PC with ethernet for Internet connection and install a wireless dongle in each PC to connect to the wireless printer. However, as noted above though I can't find the instructions for the Officejet 6500 to print Ad Hoc has nothing in the manual for the 6700.

    Is this possible?
