OptiPlex 960 with uninstalled drivers listed under other devices

Can you tell me where I can find the drivers for the following items:

Serial port PCI Bus 0, device 3, function 3.

PCI Simple Communication Controller Bus 0 device 3. Function 0.

Unknown Bus 4, device 0, function 1.

The operating system is Windows 7, 64 bit.

I'm also looking for an update to the video driver. Currently, he is listed as:

Chipset Intel Q45/Q43 Express (Microsoft Corp WDDM 1.1)

It is dated 06/05/2009 version 8.15.10.1749

I tried R279356.exe, but running it, I got a pop-up that said that my computer did not meet the

for this driver.

Thank you.

Define manually a system to make sure restore point and then install:

Host Embedded Controller Interface Driver Intel ME5

Intel Series Over LAN/Local Management Service pilot

Intel AMT GROUND/LMS driver

They should take care of the issue of the serial port.

You should have a PCI-e x 16 low-profile video card slot. Look so around the one that has the features you want at an acceptable price. Make sure that it is compatible with Windows 7, 64-bit and has the right, use the output video for what you watch.

  • The original driver of the camera again (which should be listed under portable devices) is missing

I'm trying to get my Canon PowerShot A4000 IS to connect to my computer Dell Inspiron A537.  It has a Vista x 64 SP2 operating system.  When I plug the camera in I get a message that a device driver is required.   He research and can't find anything.   I contacted Canon.  They say that there should be a device driver built into Vista in the category of portable devices.  He isn't here.  I suspect that this was deleted when my daughter tried to connect his phone I some time ago.  How can I fix it?  I tried the program of Mr. Fixit in the support section.  Found problems, it could not fix them.

    All ideas

    Try this:

Go to Device Manager and find the device that may be under 'Other devices', ' unknown devices "USB controllers" or "Hard drives" category. " It should have a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark. Right-click on it and click on "Update driver software..." The next box, click 'Browse my computer for driver software', then navigate to C:\WINDOWS\System32, click on the OK button and make sure the front box "include subfolders is selected', click 'Next' button and let windows install the driver.

  • Why not Time Capsule shows under "other devices" in the Finder?

Why not Time Capsule shows under "other devices" in the Finder on my MAC?

"Devices" are connected directly to a Mac and would include things like USB hard drive, FireWire drive and Thunderbolt drive, etc.

The Capsule is a "network" connected to a network drive... If the operating system on your Mac behave, Time Capsule will appear in the Shared section.

If you have added a NAS (Network Attached Storage) disk, this product would also appear in the Shared section.

A wireless printer can also appear under shared.

  • Minor problem with the New Installation of Windows 7 on my Inspiron E1705/9400 - two entries for "Base system device" under "Other devices" with yellow exclamation point

    Hello

First of all, let me tell you about my system.   It is of a laptop Inspiron E1705/9400 with the Core 2 Duo T7400 processor clocked at 2.16 GHZ.   It has 2 GB of RAM and a hard drive on the Hitachi Travelstar nine 500 GB (7200 RPM).   It also has the GeForce Go 7900 GS video card.    Previously, it had Windows XP Professional (32 bit) and worked well.   But, I have three computers in my home and Home Office and would they work better together on my wired home network, so I'm upgrading all three to Windows 7.   My two desktops (a Dimension XPS 420 and the other Dimension XPS 430) seem like they will be no problem to upgrade to Windows 7.   But, this laptop was not on the list of Dell Windows 7 compatibility.   However, the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor that I have downloaded and run seemed to say that it was OK to do a clean install of Windows 7 32-bit and he had only a few minor issues, where it says search the drivers updated from the manufacturer.   Initially, the laptop came with a 100 GB hard drive.   For my use, which becomes very small, so I decided to get the exact same 7200 RPM drive 500 GB size.   This will allow me to do a clean install of the 32 bit Windows 7 OS on the new hard drive and not have to wipe the old disk to do so.   I can just keep the old HD and paste it back whenever I need to get something out of it.

So, here's my minor problem.   After the transfer of some elements off the coast of the old hard drive, I installed the new 500 GB drive and installed a cleaning of the 32-bit version of Windows 7.    I'm happy to announce that I have not had virtually no problems with installation and everything seems to work fine.   He seems a little more zippy than before and I have not met so far that doesn't seem to work.   I went through most of features and almost everything is superb.   But there is a minor problem, showing in Device Manager.   At least, I think it's a minor problem, but maybe someone can give me feedback to know if she is or not.

In the Device Manager list, there is a category called "other devices" now and the icon shows a little white circle with an exclamation mark.    When you expand this category, you see two identical entries that say "Base system device" and the icon has a yellow circle with an exclamation mark inside.     I know from experience that it is not a good thing to see items in the device manager that have a yellow circle with an exclamation point.   I clicked on both of them and neither one really tells you what the device is, or who did what is site you would go to a driver.    On the general tab, it has the following information:

    -Device type Other devices

    Reference of the manufacturer- Unknown

                         Location     -         Bus PCI 3, device 1, function 3

Under device status, it says the following:

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There is no driver selected for the item or a set of device information

To find a driver for this device, click Update driver.

Each of the entries seem to be almost the same thing... but not exactly.   The other has the location

list PCI Bus 3, device 1, function 2... instead of function 1.   This seems to be the only difference.

I tried the button to update the driver, but that doesn't seem to work.   No matter if you say it looks like your

computer or to look for a new driver from the internet, it does not find anything.     As I said at the beginning,

the system seems to work very well... but, given that I don't know what this device is or does, I might be missing something.

He drives me crazy just have these yellow circles with exclamation point hanging out in my device manager.

I could really use some help here.    Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Bryan Ray (Richmond, WILL)

BTW, I just downloaded and installed the driver pack from this ftp location and it worked, even for Windows 8.1 - 64 bit.

    Thanks Steve!

  • Windows 8 - device Base system under other devices

    Hello

I just upgraded my cpu from 3930 k to 4930 k on a rampage IV Extreme.  By getting the system running again, I have at least 20 "Base System Devices" in the other devices section, with a yellow question mark.  I installed all Asus drivers again, but items still remain.  Could someone tell me they came and how to solve them.  Thank you.

Thank you for your reply Ben.  I checked with the card mother Mfg and they had me to re - install the bios that did not work.  I decided to try to remove the 'Base system devices"that the computer was working well, even if they were all marked with yellow exclamation points.  There are 32 Articles, I deleted all the and the system works fine now.  I don't know what caused them to appear, as he must have had something to do with upgrading the processor, but at least the issue is resolved.

Thanks again for your quick response,

  • Wireless adapter is missing. Now under 'other devices '.

    Hello

I'm running Windows 7 on a Dell Latitude E6420. My wireless adapter is missing. The only way you can find it is through the device and then Manager, it appears as 'Other devices' - 'Network controller' with a yellow sign - Code 28. I tried to have the driver update system - he finds nothing. I also downloaded newer versions of Intel and Dell - nothing. If I force it to do manually (I would locate etc) then I get a blue screen.
I started the computer off a Linux LiveCD and the wireless adapter works flawlessly.
I ran out of laps. Would appreciate any help on what to do (short of reinstalling Windows, I really want to get to the bottom of it without it).
    Thank you very much.

    Hi JoqngclyE0,

Thanks for your reply. In my case, it's different. If you read my original post, I say that I tried to start up with a Linux LiveCD and it resumed instantly wireless card. It is clear to me that this is a Windows problem.

Please keep in mind that my computer is a Dell, so nothing to do with these HP problems. I'm sure reinstall would fix things, but there is no guarantee that the problem will not happen and I don't want to have to reinstall on the one hand, and on others I like to think I'm rational and I understand why things happen.

No help from anyone, really appreciated.

    Thank you

  • Problem with drop-down list: under Windows, it works, on Mac is not

    Dear forum,

I'm reworking the script MultiPageImporter2.5 by Scott Zanelli; going to add new features.

So far, I added a drop-down list so that the user could choose which pages to put a pdf/indd file: odd/even/as well.

    my dialog box.jpg

However, I encountered a strange problem: on Windows, it works as expected, but on Mac, nothing happens when I click on the shortcut menu. When I write a dialog box, I almost always use the automatic layout and never encountered such a problem before. But in this text the author uses a fixed position for the controls so I followed his style of coding:

    dLog.pageSideMode = dLog.pan4.add('dropdownlist', [10,110,180,40], ["Odd and Even Pages", "Only Odd Pages", "Only Even Pages"]);
    dLog.pageSideMode.selection = pageSideMode;

The drop-down list is visible both on Windows and Mac, but on a Mac, it is not clickable. What I am doing wrong?

Another question: in the script, the author has created three pop-up windows. In the code, each popup has a different height (the last element of the array 'limits') - 60, 88, 33. Does make sense to make them different if on the screen they are exactly the same (I mean height).

Here's my version of the script.

I think the easiest solution for me here is to rework the part fixed dialog for automatic layout.

    Thanks in advance.

    Kasyan

    Hello

I don't think you're doing something wrong. If you change the vertical position of the popup to 90, the popup works if you click at the top, not if you click on the bottom.

I think that you have found a bug in the previous DAY.

Locate a reliable copy of Windows XP edition (probably of OEM type) which corresponds to the edition you have installed (friend, family member, IT person knowledge generally trust.)  The CD is not so important (beyond that matches the edition of the product and the type) as the product key.  Make a copy of this CD and keep it safe.  You can use the CD to install the operating system on your own you gave have the product key - which should be obvious on the physical computer itself (on a sticker that will tell you even what is the edition of WIndows XP) or you can shine using Belarc Advisor (free download) and gain the advantage of having a good list of what is installed other keys to series/product numbers and a list of your hardware for more drivers later.

  • Multiple Copies of the printer under other devices

I use Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on an HP desktop with a wireless HP printer.  I found hundreds of copies of the printer in the device (see below) Manager.  I was not able to remove an any of them, even if logged on as administrator.  Any ideas?  Thank you

    2. Right-click on the shortcut, 'run as administrator'

    9. Restart it service print spooler.
    10. Go back into printui utillity (you may need to restart using the same method as above) and try to delete printers again. This time it should work. If necessary, see the "Ports" tab and delete all TCP/IP ports that are associated with the old printer.
