  In my opinion, something goes wrong during the update of the BIOS, and so the entire computer doesn t start anymore. All updates are pre-tested by Toshiba, so I doubt that only the screen isn't working anymore.

  You should try to remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter for an hour. Then install the battery and plug in the AC adapter. Make sure the battery is fully charged and then try to start your laptop.

  You have more than one display card? Try to connect your monitor to the another card and see if you can get the display.

I've never owned a laptop before and think it's fine, but a question, I have however is that when I turn it on and see the black screen as it starts, I can see a sort of shadow in the middle of the screen. If I move right up to the computer, it seems to fade a bit but I don't know if this is normal or not? Anyone else having a Qosmio never this remark?

  Is it just because where are the lamps or is my screen a bit dodgy? It seems OK when I look at things on it, but if there are breaks in the TV programs with a black screen I noticed if I wait for it?

  Sorry, but this kind of problems, you should clarify with your local dealer. I recommend you to check on other model Qosmio G30 in the store to see if there is a difference.

  On this way is really not easy to tell whether something like that is normal or not.

  By the way: this shadow is visible if you are running OS?

  I'm getting intermittent problems with my G30 gel (not BSOD - simply locking the screen, no keyboard, no mouse action) and the fan at maximum speed. The only way out is to hold the power button until the machine closes its doors. Reboot is so very well. Sometimes, say, 2 - 3 times a week, with 3-4 hours per day use.

  Not much to go, I know! I looked for the time journal entries he goes and sees nothing strange. I had the motherboard replaced a few months after the video card overheated and dies, so am a bit paranoid about heat problems. The only consistency I can find, is that it happens only when it is connected to the internet... I am running Norton antivirus/internet security, and there is nothing in their newspapers either.   I bought my NB200 Aug 2009, it works fine for me until about 2 weeks ago.

  One day, I turned it normally, second day morning, I tried to trun, I see that power light, plugin light, light to the top of the battery, the drive HARD light flashed once for maybe 2-3 seconds, then fade. And the screan remains off all the way.

  I tried to remove the battery, unplug, wait up to 3 hours, put it all back, still does not start.
  I also tried with different RAM, but the result remains the same.

  And the situation get worse and worse. About 2 weeks ago, when he started, after about 10 tries, I could get it early. This morning, I had to try more than one hour and finally got lucky once.

  So, is anyone having the same problem? Any suggestions?
