Question of BES

Hi I created a project with the name of the project as "my project" and in the BlackBerry_App_Descriptor.xml file, I gave the title as 'My Project', in alx file, we can see below request identification label.

My project

1.0.0

....

And deployment made using BES and its working fine.

After we have made some changes in the project and renamed the name of the project as "MyProject" and in the BlackBerry_App_Descriptor.xml file, I gave the title of "My Project" and in alx file, we can see below request identification label.

My project

1.0.0

....

and we have deployed the application using BES (using the configuration of the software).

The problem is that instead of replacing the old APP, the new application pushes to mobiles as another application (then in total phone two applications are there and if we click on new application then "multiple defined" error is coming).

Can you please tell me why this problem occurred.

May be problem

1. is this because of the different applicaiton_id?

2. is it because of the same version number?

Or maybe problem with BES?

Thanks and greetings

Hari.

You can remove any application you want from the side of BES, but him optional setting and removing the side user should also be possible.

  • Question of BES blackBerry Smartphones

    Hi all

I hope someone can help me solve the following problem.

I got a BB Curve 9300, OS v6.0.0.526 platform 6.6.0.195, for use at work today.

The BB has been activated and configured to be used with our BES corp.

My normal workstation is running Windows 7 and Office / Outlook 2010.  I have server-side Exchange rules configured in Outlook that move messages to individuals in specific subfolders under my Inbox.

Earlier this afternoon, I sent an e-mail message to which he replied to my manager.  However, his answer does not appear on my BB.  I was unaware of his answer until I accessed my email remotely from a pc account.

In this specific case, I opened a virtual, open Office Outlook and was able to see his response.  I also see his answer through OWA.

On my BB, I can see all sub folders that I created in my Inbox on the Exchange Server, but his response to my initial message does not appear on my BB as it does from the Outlook or OWA client.

The BB Curve email message actions display options and are 'no' together to hide filed or sent messages.

Corp seems to think I need to have "all" messages go directly to my Inbox 'without' folder redirection to receive all incoming messages properly on my BB.  I'm not buying it... What is the point of having an Inbox arranged if this is the case when using a BB to have access to e-mail?

In addition, if the thought process of the Corp is correct, then why I see subfolders of Inbox that I created in Outlook on my BB when I choose email BB option to choose or of opening a specific file?

Someone has an answer, or can anyone point me in the right direction to solve this problem?

    TIA,

    Cliff

By default, BES grows only by e-mail in the Inbox and sent items to the device, so that you can see your email in their own folder structure are not pushed.

If you need pushed certain folders on your device go to your Inbox, select Options - E-mail settings and press the Blackberry Menu button - select the Folder Redirection

Work your way to the bottom of your folder list by pressing the menu button to select files that will need to be pushed on the device.

Once you have selected all the files you want, press the menu button, then press save

Note: this will affect only the messages pushed to your device in the future, old messages will not be pushed.

  • BES integration tests

Hello, this is my first post and I hope that it is headed in the right forum. I'm working on software that will perform the archiving of e-mails. We have developed a MAPI wedge which is installed on the BES server to help the reconstruction of e-mail archvied stubs. Long story short, I'm trying to test some new changes with BES 5.0.3.

Part 1 of my tests is to create a functional environment and predictable BES that we test our shim of. I have not yet tried to install our software, just trying to get a test method implemented so I can spot any strange behavior.

Our 4.1.7 tests went somewhat along the lines of stop BES Services, send a message to an Exchange user, allow our archiving software strip the body and attachments of the message. Once it is in this State, test the reconstruction to start services and connect the Simulator as well as synchronization messages.

Suppose for a moment that our software works very well. I currently trying this with BES 5.0.3 and cannot get a BES predictiable behavior. I use the BlackBerry and MDS with BlackBerry Desktop Manager Simulator to activate and synchronize messages. I can activate the device very well, and when the Simulator is connected via USB all new messages I receive appear in my Inbox on the phone. This part is fast and works perfectly.

If I disconnect the USB Simulator and send a message, I understand the limitations of the Simulator, I need to plug it into USB to receive new messages, this worked well to 4.1.7, but in this case, all messages received by the mailbox at the time the Simulator was not connected via USB are never delivered.

The only time I get a message on the phone is when connected via USB. Is this correct?

Also since I took the time to create this account I'll ask a few other questions that were really annoys me.

Why the mailbox not to fill anything? After activation, you get an empty mailbox on your phone.

Are messages updated on the phone during a synchronization, or is static content, once the message has been downloaded to the phone?

What kind of role the product keys play with BES after installing the product? We bought two 5.0 key and I used one during the test 4.1.7 scrapped that and reused for 5.0, which causes problems of functionality?

Is there a newspaper, I can see that shows BES get the message and then pushing him to the device?

Don't the BES data of message for the store database or does all the configuration and user information?

Sorry for all the questions, I just really have no one to ask. If anyone can answer all those that would make my day.

    Thank you!

The BlackBerry smartphone Simulator must be connected via the USB port to send and receive messages using a BlackBerry Enterprise Server.  It is the expected behavior.

I can answer some of your questions of BES.  I recommend ones I don't have in our forum of BES, where the real BES experts see him post.

By sync, are you referring to synchronize using the Desktop Manager?  If so, messages are not being updated or modified when you do this.  The device/Simulator requires direct contact with the BES to any change to happen (mark read/not read, etc...).  The message content may vary as you view the message.  Only the first 2 k of a message is sent to the device initially.  As read you the message, it downloads additional content in the background.

The SRP ID to a BES can be moved from one facility to the other, but can be active on a BES at a time.  If you run two BES with the same ID of SRP your SRP ID will be disabled at the level of the BlackBerry Infrastructure and you must contact RIM to re - activate.

  • Question, security and confidentiality of Smartphones blackBerry using BES and BIS

I have a BB of work that is supported by a Blackberry Enterprise Server. I also have a yahoo staff & accounts gmail that I set up on my BB device. My concerns are:

    1. Are my emails yahoo & gmail routed through the server of the company or it comes directly from my phone provider
    2. If it is routed through my BES, is that questions of confidentiality for my private email?
    3. Is there a way to protect personal information when the data is routed through the company system BES

Frankly, I don't want my people to work never see my personal yahoo or gmail emails. This is why I am asking these questions.

    Thanks a ton!

    Hello.

    1. No, they are not being routed through the BES.  They will make your device through the pine and the NSE that you entered when you set up your BIS account directly.

    2 see #1

    3 see #1

If you are concerned about your personal data, perhaps you should consider getting your own device.  What I did (and I'm the BES Admin).

  • Question of Smartphones Netgear WVPN824 WiFi blackBerry connecting BIS/BES

Since a few days I tried to get WiFI working at work.

I can connect but only get a gray icon for WiFi hotspot only browser works.

    Upgrade router frimware, no luck

Updated another firmware on the router, no luck

Both are related to the way

    http://KB.NETGEAR.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/965

I tried with only one (master only) and no connection to the BES/BIS on WiFi.

I looked / changed many settings and it still persists.

At home, he works very well with the different model Netgear router.

Router IP is static and separated from all other firewalls.

No sense, given that the slave is not connected to the master via the WAN port. I changed the setting of QOS for slaves and now it works on that one too. I think that QOS would be LAN to WAN, but it's not. No, I can have faster surfing at the office.

My QOS settings on both units.

  • Smartphones from blackBerry BES Question: when emails deleted from Outlook/exchange inbox why not email get removed from BB?

Is - this b/c, the Exchange is only 'forwarding' mail for BB, do not receive any communication in return? But then why can the BB delete an e-mail message at the same time the BB device and the exchange server (if this option is selected)?

I really need the BB to update the same as my Inbox with my exchange server, I will not be a happy camper if it does not recognize the emails that I moved into or deleted from the outlook/exchange Inbox subfolders, as my old Treo did... Is there some setting I am missing?

Or is this what work of BB?

Well hallelujah, is a tech BB saw my post and fixed a few BES script, or, I solved the problem by changing the setting in the options to "HIDE MESSAGED after HAVING REMOVING", I think it's the only setting I changed and I don't know if fixed it or not, but its not working as it should now.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BES, Bell and Rogers - stupid question

May sound silly, but we only use Bell BlackBerry on our BES server.  A user doesn't get any reception on her Blackberry at home and I would like to switch to Rogers.

I will be able to add the BES OK?

    Hello

Yes, carrier and BES are independent. That is, of course, as long as Rogers offers (and the user subscribes to) a level of service plan company.

    Best!

  • Deploy an iOS of the app store in a secure workspace BES?

My organization is developing an iOS app, currently published in the apple app store.

We had a request from a customer who would like to package and deploy our application in a secure workspace managed by BES 12 on iOS devices they have. We do not have a system of BES.

I looked in a number of forums, Internet blackberry sites and marketing material, and it seems that it is possible to package and deploy 'internal apps' in a secure workspace on iOS via BES, but I couldn't find anything about the app store apps.

    My questions are:

    1. is it possible for our client to take the app from the apple app store and publish it in a workspace secure via BES?

    2. If it is not possible by default, is there something we can do to allow future versions of our application to be put in work spaces secure (but always distributed through the apple app store)

    3. If it is not at all possible, which would need to send to our customers so that they to package our application as an application "internal" and deploy in the secure workspace? (for example we just send the same ipa file that we submitted to itunes connect, or does need to other settings for BES)

    Thank you

    Orion

    Hi Orion,

    Thanks for the questions.

There are two options to bring iOS apps on workspace secure through BES.

Option 1. Partner wrap the iOS app and deploy via Secure Workspace/BES. The packed app can be deployed through the multiple BES (customers) in-app 'For the SECTOR' and can also be downloaded from the App Store. The application can also be distributed as part of Volumn purchase Program (VPP) for customers. You can find more information on VPP here:

    http://devBlog.BlackBerry.com/2015/02/new-app-management-option-with-bes12-VPP/

Option 2. Enterprise wrap the iOS app and deploy via Secure Workspace/BES. The wrapped app can be deployable via an instance of BES as an 'In House' application. This process also requires the customer to sign up for the iOS Enterprise Development Program signed the application as an application 'In House'.

Please see our blog for more details on the above options:

  • Sending PUSH in a cluster of BES?

    Hello

I have an environment where there are 4 servers BES (using Lotus Notes), and 500 registered devices to each.

Now I seem to be able to send PUSH messages to 2 devices registered to different servers, BES, using a SINGLE

    IP address of PUSH.

Both devices have books of different services that identify the different PRS so I know that they are registered to different BES servers (the administrator also confirmed that independently)

    So my question is:-

In a configuration where there are a lot of BES servers, can I send PUSH messages for all devices with a UNIQUE IP address?

    Thank you

    Hello

Yes, you see the behavior expected - only a single BES is configured as a server push using the BlackBerry Manager. It is the responsibility of the central server push BES can distribute the push messages BES home user for delivery to the target device. This is possible because all BES share a common configuration database. You need to use the IP address of the designated as the central push Server BES.

A common when deployment one problem asks to push the deployment as it was only balanced society all users on BES servers also (it one of them 'pass' is the Server central push)-However, in application of pressure at high speed, the central push server should not be heavily loaded than the non-BES server push (or in extreme cases is not loaded at all) because it is also having to deal with all push connections http entering your application on top of its normal functions.

    Hope that clarifies things.

  • Logging of BES Simulator

    Hello

Does anyone know if the DOS window that runs to the simulated BES writes to a log file?

I am trying to display all the data written in the BACK window when I push the contents of a simulator of BB. But because of the size of the back window I lose old data before the end of the thrust.

    I set the logging to:

    [Record]
    Logging.Level = 4
    Logging.Console.log.Level = 4

    Thanks for your help

    Andrew

I found the solution to the question.

    I used version BES 4.1.4

The default logging in the BAT file setting - 4 = Logging.level is incorrect

    It must be changed in - Logging.file.log.level = 4

    Then it works

    See you soon

  • "BOLD" does not meet the system requirements? -BES

    This is getting ridiculous.

Tried to install my Orange BES "BOLD" - and I get this message on the WAP site:

    View

I'm sorry that your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support BlackBerry App World.

Yes - I'm in the United Kingdom

No - there is no policy of BES blocking apps

    Feature: "BOLD"

    OS: v4.6.0.162

    Carrier: Orange UK

    Plan: BES

2 devices on different networks - and AppWorld does not work on either! is this an April fools joke?

This question seems to have been resolved - try to access the same address now and it will work.

  • BES push - URL of BPA in the sample applications

    Hi all

I'm testing the applications provided with the Blackberry PushSDK. Under Configuration push, there is BPA URL: and its default value is set to http://pushapi.eval.blackberry.com

When I try to record a device, it fails with a return 403 because I never registered with rim. But I'm only interested in using the application with a BES. Should I provide here? You still need to register with the rim if you use it with a BES only?

Or should I use localhost: 8080 for the address? What to do. Impossible to find all the information in the docs in http://docs.blackberry.com/en/developers/subcategories/?userType=21&category=BlackBerry+Push+Service...

    Any help is appreciated,
    Thank you

    Got, it works.

    Necessary re - install.

The url of BPA can be ignored. Must configure the Base URL of PPG as your address of MDS Simulator, mine was localhost: 8080. Then, when installing SDK change port for the server part of use something other than 8080 and browse the code, needs some changes to avoid exceptions are thrown due to the recording of BPA part.

If there are any other questions let me know.

  • Confused about BB10 and BES PUsh

    Hello world

Today, our application side server is an HTTP Post to a preconfigured URL of BES and is capable of pushing an icon for a BB5, device 6 or 7 without any problems. The application server-side is not Java based and simply use an HTTP Post to make the push. Everything is fine and our clients are happy :-)

Now eagerly BB10, it seems that things have become much more complex.  Here's my understanding:

1 BES and MDS will not apply to BB10 devices since these devices will use the new service COMICS. This service will have an interface of type MDS, so we can do a big boost to the unit in question?

1a. If not, how can we push the BB10 device?

    1. b do we not have to write some kind of server Java or can we continue to use simple HTTP Post, as we do today with BB5, 6 and 7?

Remember, I'm only interseted in the BES (business devices) and not BIS sceanrio.

  • Newbie BB development question

Hello eveyone. I hope this is the right place to post this question, but I'm looking for advice. I'm new to the development for BB, but since 3 days I did a lot of reading. The only problem with this is that the more I read more confused I get. I have developed solutions ASP.NET, but never anything like that for mobile devices.

Here are my thoughts on what I would do:

-Create a Web page for the BB, which goes to a SQL Server, accessing a view and extracts the data in a data Repeater or a gridview for viewing.

I have an IIS server running locally and can be viewed on BlackBerry now. I've set up and you can check out. WML and. Pages HTML to it very well.

My question is this. I read about this plug-in for Visual Studio 2008. I downloaded and installed successfully.

I do not know the following:

-Can I do what I would do without BES?

-What would be the best way to go about this? A few suggestions on what would be the best way to approach this project.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Bob

    psu99 wrote:

So I can just use Visual Studio.net 2008 and create a sample page. I use the PlugIn which can be downloaded or can I just without programming?

From what you say, you just need Notepad, vim, emacs, any other to design a Web page. The fact that You ' l browse this page with a Blackberry or an iPhone or a Samsung is on top of that.

    psu99 wrote:

And what you say to me that I didn't need BES... my point of view on what it was only used for PUSH applications.

You use a BES is required if the Web server is not reachable from outside your corporate network. In this case, you need BES just for its web proxy that will allow your browser to reach a machine inside the LAN. BES can also be used for automatic authentication issues based on the PIN code of your device and/or X.509 private keys that can be installed by the IT company.

  • BES 10 replacement for user defined rules of politics

Our application for BES5 used the rules defined by the user to set default values for the application specific user.  From my reading, I can't find the equivalent of the user policy rules set in BES 10.

Are there alternative ways to create, manage and distribute managed centrally by default for our application on the BES10.x.  By default include the HTTP port used by the application, the port of push and many faults of field level.

    Looking forward to you suggestions.

    Welcome on the support forums.

It's a very good question. One that I have been unable to solve since the launch of BB10, unfortunately.
I discussed the subject with the staff of BlackBerry of the Conference and the Forum (can't find jobs even though I think it was on the forum server, but who can not find as well...), but nothing helped.

I tested several other ideas, such as the use of a configuration file attached to an e-mail with invocation etc, but for an application to the roll of 1000 users + these things are really not very good.
I still work related to this free, if there is no possible solution, I would be interested.
