  But back at the end of February, I had a power outage computer 3 times in 3 weeks and HP has finally replaced my hard drive, I downloaded all my files to Carbonite, and all running again.  I use AOL desktop 9.7 and Internet Explorer, google and Firefox.  Using especially AOL because of my email.  SO for the last 3 weeks, randomly, my AOL has just been close, as I click on the close button and everything closes.  When this produces any another program, I opened will just white screen and I cannot close it with the X button, so I have to go to the Manager task to close all open programs.  So I went in my AOL to launch the information system and it tells me I have Coolcore60.dll errors, I guess that when it stops.  I called Microsoft and they can fix, but they want $99 for 30 days.  Try to find a way to try to fix me without paying them money.

  Sorry to hear about your hard drive problems. However, replace the hard drive is very simple on the M40. In my view, it is located under a Panel to access the bottom of the unit. Just remove the two screws fixing the Panel and then slide the drive away from the connector and remove.   You are absolutely right on this Intel WLAN card. I checked some books forum and many other users have similar problems with different laptops (different producers but the same map).

  I noticed that this card make a trouble with different routers. A friend of mine has Satellite M40 with the same card and has no problem with the Netgear router, but with my Belkin one drops the connection permanently. We did the test with US Robotics router and the connection was not good enough.

  Unfortunately, there is nothing to see. The only solution is to swap the WLAN card and built the other one (Agere or Toshiba one).

  AFAIK usually Missing/Bad OSB logo error message is displayed if the error was detected in the BIOS or CMOS ROM module

  But according to the BSOD with physical memory error error, I guess that your modules of memory are not correct and that this must be the main reason for you questions.

  Of course I could be wrong also, and perhaps the whole issue is related to the faulty motherboard but in the first step, you should check your modules of memory installed.
