Satellite U400 - after update BIOS lighting lights

Since the update the BIOS on my U400-15E (Vista 32), lighting of the multimedia keys, touchpad always turn after the restart, recovery from the sleep or Hibernate. Touch the illuminance on the off button once does that second touch them will turn off until the next reboot.

Illumination is disabled in the configuration of the bios and also through HWsetup. After reboot/wake up, without touching the illumination button, accessing the illumination in HWSetup tab / illumination is shown as turned off even if it's on. Touch the power button can toggle illumination to without changing the real light on keyboard. Next key activates / deactivates them both off.

This isn't a pain important but very frustrating. Any ideas?

Hello

A friend of mine had a similar problem with the buttons of the illumination and the reason was an update of Windows or software that is not compatible.
Anyway, he did also reinstall the VAP and updated the BIOS but no luck. At the end of the story he reinstalled Windows using recovery disc HARD option and everything worked very well.

Maybe a new facility with Toshiba Recovery disk or HARD drive recovery option can help you, buddy.

Good luck!

I have laptop Toshiba Satellite U400, PSU44E and Win XP. After you have installed the new BIOS v. 3, 80-WIN32, it is not possible to start Windows, it always ends in restart. It is also not possible to reinstall Winsdows, as it always ends with the blue screen.

    Any help or suggestion?
How can I install back my backup BIOS BACK?

    Hello

Did you really choose the good BIOS for your laptop? Because on the Toshiba site Web are different models U400 has so you choose for PSU44E BIOS on Toshiba page?

After the BIOS, you should load the default settings in the BIOS.
    Did you check that?

A downgrade from the BIOS is not possible. This is possible only from an authorized service provider. So, you should contact them and ask a technician for help. I m sure they will help you. ;)

  • Satellite A300 - after update BIOS black screen

    Hi all
I just applied the update to the BIOS on my Satellite A300. After the update is successful, the system carries out a restart. Now when I try to start it I get no display, I can hear the proceedings to hear it, the CD player, the DVD, playback led flashes.

The ASP Toshiba rang me (phone call), the motherboard must be replaced after a bios update, but it is very expensive for me :(
Please can you tell me if they are a way to fix it without replacing the motherboard? The bios is an Insyde and according to the site Internet the bios bios [recovery technology | http://www.insydesw.com/press/2008/press_060308.htm]. I guess that the ASP does not know that.

Please can you tell me how to start the recovery procedure it is possible (combination?),.
Any help on fixing the laptop without replacing the motherboard will be much appreciated.

    Hello!

I think that the ASP is just and in the worst cases, the motherboard should be replaced.

You can try to remove the battery and the AC adapter. Wait one hour and then connect the AC adapter and the battery and try again.

If it doesn't work you should go to an ASP. Perhaps a BIOS reset can solve the problem, but it can be done from an ASP.

No won´t you be able to recover the old BIOS. The only two options are:

    1. try to update BIOS and check if it work s
    2. in the case of no success, please visit the [ASP Locator | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/generic_content.jsp?service=EU&ID=ASP_SUPPORT] to search for the nearest ASP in your country and ask them for a checkup of material and repair.

  • Satellite P500 - after update BIOS on the numeric keypad does not work anymore

I just had a Satellite P500 and am running Windows 7. I downloaded all the latest drivers and updated the system BIOS to version 1.70 (from Toshiba support website). Now, my numeric keypad of the keyboard does not work.

The NumLock light is on and when I hit the key "6" on the pavement, he turns the power light, but the behavior of the other keys does not change that it is on or off. The '-' key to enter a '6', but none of the other keys (except "enter" does nothing.

I removed the keyboard driver and rebooted to reinstall the keyboard driver, but has no effect. The keyboard has worked for a few days after that I flashed the bios but seems to have stopped since I started using a USB mouse. I tried to uninstall the USB mouse driver, but who have nothing do either (it was a Logitech driver).

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance

    > I did not upgrade bios 1.7
Maybe you should try upgrading the BIOS
As another user has suggested upgrading the BIOS 1.7 helped, even if the end user has updated the BIOS twice

  • Satellite L300 - after update BIOS BSOD appears

    Hello world

I have a question about it. I have a Toshiba L300 with Intel GM965 chipset. I've been works very well with this laptop after using the Bios v1.40.

However, recently, after an upgrade of the Bios to v1.50, I started to get the BSOD (quite often) in Vista that I had in v1.30 bios.

If you have this problem and find the solution somewhere, please let me know. Much appreciate.

Moreover, there are some problems with BSOD caused by the chipset GM965 reviewed on the site Internet of Dell and Intel. Most people say it's because the Vbios (video bios). The fact that after upgrading my bios to 1.50, the Vbios from my toshiba is always (most recent intel is 1572) 1436.

If you have a newer version of the vbios, please let me know when you bought your laptop. Much appreciate.

Here is an exchange of views on Intel and Dell website:
    http://software.Intel.com/en-us/forums/user-community-for-Intel-graphics-technology/topic/59127
    http://software.Intel.com/en-us/forums/user-community-for-Intel-graphics-technology/topic/61093/

Moreover, for those who cannot upgrade the driver Intel site, please uninstall the previous driver and install the new driver of the installation file (or do it manually). Contact me for more details if you need.

I'm looking forward to having good and clear on your part answers. I don't like the answers- and made-up. (I'm not a fool).

    Thank you

    Hello

I'm still looking for answers about Vbios. Hope can hear someone here.

In the meantime, I would like to use this thread to discuss chipset GM965 and question, you can meet with her. Obviously, the driver supported by Toshiba is an older version and is missing many features. Some people say it is not safe to use other pilots, but it is false. There is nothing wrong if you use the original equipment manufacturers, as they know more of 3 companies.

    Intel has released a new chipset GM965 - X 3100 driver to:

    Download: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=2800
    Covering memo: http://downloadmirror.intel.com/17122/eng/relnotes_winvista64_gfx.htm

with many correction of bugs (including for the extended monitors).

To get the best performance new driver. You must uninstall the current driver on your machine manually from the Device Manager. You can then run the whole upward.

Don't forget to add a light T & L SW for some software to improve their performance. (Look for how to improve x 3100 perforamce on this site support or the answer that and I'll show you how). For x 3100, SW mode will allow you to have some executives rate more and you can play your games as well as make your graphic works.

    Kind regards.

  • Satellite P750 - after update BIOS CPU fan runs faster

    Hi all

    On my Satellite P750 (PSAY3A - 02L 001)

Since I've updated my BIOS to version 2.40, I noticed that the CPU fan runs much faster then normal.

Even more, when I go in options inside BIOS configuration, saving it comes up with "an invalid entry.

Has anyone experienced this problem? Know a way to solve this problem?

In General, old BIOS is not available when one is offered on Toshiba new download page.
If you have older version of BIOS try to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. They have access to the database of Toshiba and can get the ld for you version.

By the way: have you tried to change the power settings for the cooling method and less upgraded?
This should reduce the activity of fan cooling.

  • Re: Satellite P100 - after update BIOS it does not start optical drive

I have updated the BIOS to 4.70 in my P100 PSPAAE. After restarting, I expect about 10 minutes, but nothing has happened, after that the screen of the BIOS, the screen went black. I turned off the laptop only.

I chose the option "start windows normally". Since (I assume) the laptop does not drive. Any, I have to start from there. Everything else works fine.

It is because of the update of the BIOS, or something else could cause this problem? Any idea or help appreciated!

    Hello

The optical drive is recognized from the BIOS?
You can read the disc in Windows?

Maybe you should load the default settings in the BIOS and try another bootable disk.

  • Satellite 5205 - after updating Bios - repairman / message call Bios

Toshiba 5205 - repairman / call Bios - need help.

I flashed my bio and the laptop locked in windows and not extinguished after the flash.

Now when I turn on the laptop, I have no picture and the front of the laptop has a LCD remote that says: technician / call the BIOS.

I already disassembled the laptop battery and let sit a day full to the bios killthe, but I get the same error and still no picture.

How can I fix? The bio should be dead by now. Am just using CA power supply for power. I tried to connect the battery in and I also put battery back in. bio and I get the samething on the remote lcd display error message.

There must be a way to work around this problem, if anyone knows please let me know.

    Hi Jim,.

Unfortunately the battery will not reset your BIOS. The BIOS is maintained by a battery on your motherboard (CMOS or RTC battery) and you will need to disassemble your laptop to access the battery. Even remove the battery CMOS does not restore your BIOS, since it will be held in a non-volatile CMOS chip area.

You will need to take your laptop to an authorized Toshiba Service Agent to be reflashed with a new BIOS chip.

    Kind regards

  • Touchpad no longer works after update BIOS on Satellite A500-1GL

    Hello world

I just bought my laptop Satellite A500-1GL today. I started at the top and plays a bit (nothing serious). The touchpad worked very well at the moment.

Then I discovered this tool to update the material and the update of the BIOS that worked without any problems. After I restarted the laptop, BIOS, loaded the default values of the installation and recorded.
After that Windows 7 (x 64) started the touchpad no longer works...

I downloaded the driver here and installed again once, still does not. I went into the BIOS, disabled the touchpad (I thought that maybe it's a bug...) and started again. It still does not...

I enabled it again in the BIOS, tried to push the function + F9, but it still does not... Finally, I used the recovery and installed a Windows 7 costs.
    But unfortunately it still doesn't.

Now, I'm out of ideas, can anyone help?
Is there a chance to get the older version of BIOS to downgrade it?

    Thanks in advance ;)

    Hello

It seems strange that after update Bios touchpad no longer works.

    > Is there a chance to get the older version of BIOS to downgrade it?

To be honest, I don't know where to find. In any case, do a search on Google. Perhaps, other users of the forum can give you a link to download.
The downgrade of the Bios is riskier upgrade procedure. So, be careful the next time...
Advice for the future; Do not touch the running system.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite Pro A300 (PSAG9E) - after updating BIOS Windows will not start

Restart went well after update BIOS and Windows XP logo appears loads for a few seconds then a beep and restart - last good known or start Windows normally same effect.
Reboot back to start - this is a new laptop - using the BIOS of Toshiba s official download site.

Quite annoyed to try to find a way to upgrade or downgrade the BIOS.
Took battery and RAM to see if I can delete it?

    Any ideas anyone?

I think you mean BIOS * update * and do not upgrade ;)
    An upgrade is not possible

However, you can try to remove the battery and the AC adapter and wait an hour. After that, reconnect the battery and the AC adapter and try to start Windows.
Moreover I would load the default settings in the BIOS before starting Windows.

If it doesn't work, it seems that your ROM module needs to be reflashed. In this case an ASP can help you.
