Scan to computer Mac Lion

I can not scan to the computer.  I have HP Photosmart Plus 210 series.  When I press the scan of the computer there are only options for Windows.  I have the Macbook Pro Lion.  Can anyone help.

You have a windows PC?

I would double check and make sure that the software is installed correctly and make sure that you connect to the printer with the USB or wireless.

It seems that you have not yet activated the printer for the MAC.

  • No option for "Scan to Computer" Lion mountain on Mac

I installed the latest drivers from "full functionality" for my Officejet Premium 8600, v12.23.0.

    I'm running OS X 10.8.2 (Mountain Lion).

I want to be able to scan directly from the printer to my laptop, using the function "Scan to Computer".  However, when I open the HP utility, I see no option for "Scan to Computer" in scanning settings.  I don't see options for 'Scan to email' and "Scan to Network Folder".

In the search of these forums, only suggestions that I found are to install the full featured of the printer drivers, I have already done.

Many thanks in advance for any help!

Click your desktop, then click on the menu to go to the top and select Applications you should see the Hewlett-Packard folder.

If you do not see such a folder, run the installation once more, make sure you check the HP recommended software during the progress of the installation...

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

    Hello

First, make sure you have the latest firmware installed as follows:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-OfficeJet-Pro-8600-plus-e-all-in-one-printer-series---N911/4322915/model/4323647/document/c02919168/

    Then, try the following:

    1. Of the printer, click on the right arrow / left and press the ion of the configuration of the printer.
    2. Select Network Configuration.
    3. Select direct Wireless Configuration.
    4. Ensure the Direct wireless is enabled and take one step of his password if such a value.
    5. Click on the WiFi icon from your Mac and connect to the SSID 8600 spirit "live / Print" in its name.
    6. Go to System Preferences > print and scan and click on the plus sign to add the printer - you see it listed as Hello via the direct wireless connection?

Please let me know the results, if it not listed as Hello with Direct wireless, which clearly show that the new router interrupts the multicast connection, this is the same as the connection through a different router.

On your screenshot, it seems that your router do not transfer packets to multicast to the need...

  • OfficeJet 6500 has more - Scan-to-Computer tasks can be reorganized or renamed?

I have a HP OfficeJet 6500 has more (E710n-z) and have implemented the Scan of the computer which works very well.

When I turn on the scan-to-computer of the screen of the printer, there are six different choices for the analysis-'Save as PDF,' 'Save as JPEG,' etc..

Three appear on the first screen, and I have to scroll down to get over the next three years.

    My Questions are:

    1. Is there a way to rearrange the scan tasks so that I can change which three appear on the first screen of the printer?
    2. Is there a way to change the names of the tasks of the computer analysis?

I'm on a Mac running (OSX 10.8.2) Mountain Lion

Sorry, there is not a way to change the order on the display of the scan task.

Also, you cannot change the name of the actual analysis to the task of the computer. The only thing you can change is the name real analysis of the case, sorry.

This works fine in Snow Leopard 10.6.8.

    Thanks for any help

Thanks for help, but my problem is not a printing problem but rather a utility HP problem that happens when I try to activate the function "Scan to computer".

However, I did what you suggested but to no avail. Repair disk permissions really did keep many errors about files in Safari and iTunes.

Finally, I did a new install of OS X Lion mountains fresh on a separate partition, added to the printer, and voila, everything went well. (Note however that even on this brand new facility I stil have the same permission errors, so they probably makes no sense).

In conclusion, it seems that there is something wrong with my drive work system and I'm afraid I'll have to reinstall Mac OS X.

  • OfficePro 8600 all-in-one - function "Scan to Computer", alias software update do not update

    Hello

On my iMac, after update to the Mavericks, the "Software Update" feature Apple told me that there was an update from HP for my printer. After the update, I got a new feature and a updated printer utility (or the scan utility? I type of memory on a PC at work away from my Mac, so bear with me please). The novelty is "scan to computer" or maybe "scan to folder" - it allows me to scan directly onto my iMac from the printer. I also have a MacBook pro that I have updated to the Mavericks. For the life of me I can't update software to 'find' this HP softawre update. I tried all technical and simple thing I can think (redownloading and install the driver of HP on HP site, deleting driver, uninstall, repair permissions, tranfering manually all the iMac to MacBook HP software, restart the printer, etc. etc. etc.). No luck. I can't get the software update HP on the PowerBook - and the software manually transferred from the iMac comes with an error - so I deleted and am now using the latest driver web page from HP which works fine - with the exception of any scan of the computer have... I'd like to since my PowerBook usually stays on my desk to the floor away from the printer down... by the way, I LOVE THIS HP 8600 printer. All brands of printer, I used it over the years, AND this ONE IS BY FAR MY FAVORITE IN EVERY WAY. Bravo HP!

    Hello

I had on both Mountain Lion. And yes I got the HP software on the two before moving on to Mavereicks. I'm not sure 100 percent when the HP update came through on the iMac if - it may have been before I upgraded to the Mavericks. But I'm pretty sure that it was after the Mavericks.

  • "Scan to computer" the printer only works for admins

HP Officejet 6700, OS X Lion. Latest version of the software.

Only admin users can scan the printer using the screen touch "Scan to Computer".  The non-admin users get communication errors. The computer is listed and after choosing works very well if the admin user is the active connection. But if a standard user is the current user, then it does not work. Scanning HP utility does not connect on the standard user account to "Activate the Scan of the computer". That translates into a communication error. But return to the admin, and it connects.

Surely, it works in a context of user multi for non-admins. Do the other admin users is not an option.

Standard users can use the HP scanning app on the computer, but the family loves the conveinence of the button "Scan of the computer. Its a nice feature. But seems broken.

Fixed it! I just needed you to give me advice in the right direction. File on the file plist property seemed incorrect, so I changed to match the other hp plist file:

    iMac27:LaunchAgents pdivita$ ls-l * hp *.
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 pdivita admin 395 com.hp.devicemonitor.plist May 26, 2012
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 673 com.hp.messagecenter.launcher.plist January 19, 2010
    iMac27:LaunchAgents pdivita$ sudo chown root: wheel com.hp.devicemonitor.plist
    Password:
    iMac27:LaunchAgents pdivita$ ls-l * hp *.
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 395 com.hp.devicemonitor.plist May 26, 2012
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 673 com.hp.messagecenter.launcher.plist January 19, 2010

He now works in any account. Possible sound when I tried to fix my problem of no printing in January, one of the suggestions involved edit this file plist for HP Device monitor has not started, because it has been reported to cause problems in the past. Too bad repair disk permissions did not catch it. Thank you very much. Scan of the computer is a nice feature. (Although, the constant polling of devices HP monitor I see in the activity monitor always makes me nervous.)

    Hello

Try to do a full restart of the cycle as follows and chck for the difference:

    1. Disconnect the power from your router for 10 seconds, plug back in and allow the router up to 3 minutes to start.
    2. Restart both the printer and then the Mac.

Now try to scan from the printer and check for the difference.

If it persists, you see the scan to the State of the computer as active and in the HP utility Greem?

    Hi Breezy52,

I wanted to stop and add my comments that @HevnLgh is missing currently.

I checked the drivers on the site hp.com for your Officejet 8610. There is no feature complete drivers and the software for Sierra. I'm not sure if or when they will, however, you can consult the site regularly to see if they are released.

Up here, you will not be able to scan using the HP software and will need to continue to use your work around option. I understand this is not a complete solution, however, I hope this information helps.

Link to the website of drivers: HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-all-in-one printer

Hit the "accept as Solution" if we reached a solution and the "thumbs up" to say thank you for my help.

    Hello

Scanning to a computer from the front panel to scan to a computer with Windows or Mac OS X, not a Tablet as I understnd of your information.

Since iPad you can scan by launching the scan from the HP AIO Printer Remote app, not the printer itself.

You can follow these steps to scan from a mobile device:
