    Hello

You need the Intel Matrix Storage Manger.
This package contains the SATA drivers.

  • Installation of XP using F6 to install driver SATA controllers. which adapter?

This is my first experience with and try to install a fresh copy of XP to a SATA HDD (in a new ThinkPad T60). I got regarding locating and loading the Drivers Intel Matrix Storage Manager installation. But now has four adpaters SCSI to choose from:

How do I know that you choose (I've never started the ThinkPad) or is it important?

PS, I see only an adater (second) seems to be highlighted by default and is one of the two referred to in this description of the Lenovo driver. The other card mentioned does not appear on the list. What are the chances that by default, this is the right one and I could damage anything if I chose, but was not sure it was the right SCSI adapter?

Since my original post I took a chance and proceeded to load the preslected SCSI card, but still deadlocked when installing XP says: Setup did not find any hard drives installed in my computer.

    Any ideas? Thank you

I read and use a number forums regarding a certain number of topics or interests, especially to help myself and thus am especially able to solve the problem I encounter. I do not often post except to help others help me or offer help to others. I don't want to be selfish, but especially there are others out there much more competent than me who are willing to and troubleshoot.

In this case however, I thought and turned to this Lenovo community forum was the most appropriate for the first time and even contacted Lenovo telephone assistance for an answer to my problem.

I don't want to seem ungrateful, but Lenovo Technical Support, nor anyone navigating this forum offered no help in what I just accidentally discovered is a simple solution to a simple problem. And it's like desricbed, only four adapters are displayed when the method F6 during installation of XP to install SATA driver controllers, which none worked or put in correspondence adapter described in the support page this driver Lenovo or Lenovo support this page describes how to install Windows XP for T60 and T60p ThinkPads.

Unbelieveablely support Lenovo nor anyone browsing these forums has been able to tell me, it's that Microsoft in the XP installation does not indicate that additional adapters can be found (hidden) simply using up or down keys to scroll. Once I did that I saw the card that I had to choose, continue and have windows 'See' the SATA hard drive.

So there you have it for technical support from Lenovo or anyone who could not install XP on a ThinkPad T60 using and following the Instructions and Intel Matrix Storage Manager Driver and instead, was first to enter the BIOS. CONFIG and change the value for SATA of DCIS of compatibility to install the drivers and then subsequently modify the BIOS again:

  • Can I use a SATA drive in the virtual host as a SCSI disk in virtual machine?

I'm under (64-bit) 2008 R2 RC as host and VMware Workstation 6.5.2. I installed a linux VM, the distribution doesn't really matter, but now I use Debian 5.01 AMT64. I am trying to use SATA drives to the host as drive virtual in the VM, but not successful. Here's what I did.

-In the virtual machine of VMware Workstation. Add - & gt; hard drive - & gt; use a physical disk - & gt; Choose the device (use entire disk) - & gt; Finishing

The drive is affected as IDE drive. Here's the first question, I can use it as a SCSI drive? There are only 4 available in CD-ROM and VM IDE drive takes one. I want to be able to use 10 disks.

-L' use above configuration, if I start the VM, I don't know where devices are. I can't find any device in the name of/dev/hda, / dev/hdb etc.

Here is my second question. Where are the devices on a virtual computer that were created as virtual disks?

    Hello

    with 2 k 3, you won't have these problems.

VMware affect physical as IDE disks if the host sees as IDE. He attributes as SCSI host sees the SATA or SCSI drives.

If you want to change that - you can use this old post of mine. If the descriptor of uncertain post before use you it so that I make the changes.

  • Using the IDE & SATA hard drives on the same system

My system: Vostro 400 desktop, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.3 GHz, Windows XP Home Edition.

Situation: I use a SATA hard drive and the DVD drive is SATA. I want to add an IDE hard drive (from my old computer) to this system. I can't find any IDE cable or even an IDE port on the motherboard to add an IDE cable for a hard drive.

Question: Is it possible to add an IDE hard drive to this computer and run hard IDE and SATA drives simultaneously?

  • SATA drive is not in use

I plugged a 1Toctet SATA to USB via a special connector (power supply) and it showed the old partitions. I deleted the partitions and (I think) created a "simple" format Now he appears in disk management - manage the readers as "disk 1 removable (g)" but is empty and I can not format or something. It appears neither primary or unallocated partition.

Advice appreciated for this format as a single NTFS partition.

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft community!

The description of the problem, you are not able to format a disk. I'll be happy to help you on this question.

What happens when you try to format it? You get the error message?

Let us try the following steps:

I suggest you try the steps from the following link how to create and format a SATA drive that is not usable.

Convert a hard disk or partition to NTFS format
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows7/convert-a-hard-disk-or-partition-to-NTFS-format
    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/gg309170.aspx

After trying the suggested steps, let us know if the problem with the disk formatting is fixed. Let us know if you have any other issues related to the Windows in the future.

  • Migrating to SATA drive to iMac

Four days ago my MacPro (2010) died. I have four 3 "SATA drives from 1 to 2 to each of Mac Pro. The computer was for business and personal use. Absolutely everything (including financial information) I have is on these four discs, including redundant copies of some files, but also my Time Machine backup.

I will have an envelope coming tomorrow which is a RAID box but will be executed in the independent drive with four drives Mode. My 'new' computer is an iMac (2013), that was given to me.  The iMac and the main SATA drive running the same version of the operating system. I need to resolve this issue quickly so I can return to work. In the immediate future, I intend to operate out of the primary SATA drive to catch up, and then transfer when I'll have a good time to transfer.

My question is the best way to get the entire contents of the primary SATA drive on the iMac's hard drive. I want everything that is on the main SATA drive to put to be on the iMac (including the prefs and hidden folders) of Mac Pro and it would be the same when I booted the Mac Pro.

Can I use migration utility, clone the drive SATA main to the iMac or even use the Time Machine backup?

If I clone the drive, I know that I would have to boot from one disk other than the iMac drive to clone to the iMac. When the primary SATA drive is attached, I need to boot from it by holding down the option key at startup key to select the startup disk.

If I use the Migration utility, it seems I start the iMac, and then run the utility to the iMac of the SATA drive range, which would be connected to the iMac. This would replace all the information on the iMac even though it was the boot drive?

I printed the information on the Migration of Apple Mac help when transferring to another storage device, but it's not quite clear to me.

    Finished migration

  • Satellite Pro P200 - 17 c: Win XP won't load - installation of the SATA driver

    Hello

I have a satellite pro p200 - 17 c I've had good years, allways worked without any problem.

Last week when I booted the laptop, windows won't load and I find myself safe mode selection screen. No options whatsoever me to windows loading, I tried F8 and still nothing.

I tried the restore cd that reimagee the drive but I get the same thing, I tried a new hard drive, once again the same.

But if I try to load windows from an OEM to install that software does not because it is a sata drive and there is no floppy drive. I have an external floppy drive I use, but it is not known now.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Hello

Go to BIOS and set it to default settings.

In this case the SATA mode must be on AHCI. In this case the SATA drivers are required to install the Windows operating system. But as much as I know that Windows 7 already contains the SATA drivers if usually you don t had to add SATA drivers while OS installation the installation program.

However, here is a nice HowTo document that helps you add SATA drivers for Win XP installation disc.

  • Satego X 200 - 21U - where to find the XP SATA driver for install XP

    I have laptop Satego X 200 - 21U with installed Windows Vista.
Where can I find the driver for SATA drive so I could install Windows XP?
HARD drive is Hitachi hts 541616j9sa00.

    Hello

The SATA driver is part of the Intel Storage Manager.
You can download the Storage Manager Intel since the European driver Toshiba page.

The package contains the F6hlpy folder that contains the files needed for the SATA.

These files must be included for the Windows XP CD using free software called nLite.

Google for nLite to get and find more details.

    Good bye

  • How do I not what SATA driver do I need for the Satellite L300 - 03C

How do I not what SATA driver do I need for the Satellite L300 - 03C so I can make nlite

    Hello

    Your laptop seems to be a Satellite L300 - 03C PSLB8C-03C01X.
As already indicated on your first visit to thread the Toshiba Canada page and choose this model of laptop on the driver page.
    http://209.167.114.38/support/download/ln_bymodel.asp

Then download the Intel Matrix Storage Manager (SATA) - image of floppy drive. It of for Vista, but the files in this package should work with Win XP too.
Include these files using nLite to create the new disk Win XP that contains SATA drivers.

Finally use this disk to start.

  • HP envy 750: attempt to add to new PC SATA drive

You want new 750-150xt to which I want to add my old Pavilion 6380 640 GB SATA drive.  6380 road was only the disk and the disk to boot under Windows 7 64-bit.  Envy has a 256GB SSD as boot drive and a data HD 1 TB drive.

Pulled out of 6380 and added to the Bay, third player hooked up a new "SATA3" on MB black SATA cable and power cable to the drive then gave.  Noticed in passing that my SATA cable did not have a ground wire wrapped with her which was attached to the chassis of the new PC.

By turning on the PC, it would not go beyond the HP splash screen.   Disconnected former player and removed, and the envy of 150 started very well except the logon screen "grated" for 1-2 seconds, then stabilized.  Seems to work normally.

FYI - SATA3 socket on MB was a red taken versus black and only available SATA labeled sockets.  Others were all occupied.

    Any thoughts?

So what is the connected CD drive? Must be the SATA 2. If she jumps from the 1 SATA to SATA 3 something should be available here. The question is not only the availability of a place to connect, it is that the software has progressed where you were with this player and Windows 8/10 uses a completely different approach to find and boot from hard drives.

  • There is an option in the bios to set the sata drive * IDE *-mode?

There is an option in the bios to set the sata drive * IDE *-mode?

    Grobi

    Hi dude

    That s a funny question.
No, there is no option in the BIOS!

Please understand that there are various interfaces to drive HARD. IDE and SATA.

There is a big difference between the two interfaces and the function of the HARD disk on the motherboard controller, you could use a HDD IDE or SATA HDD.

But you cannot connect a SATA HDD to IDE or IDE HDD controller for the SATA controller. This is not possible due to different hardware.
This is not possible and that's why these BIOS settings are not available or don t exist!

  • P6620f: Installation second SATA drive

    Motherboard installed: H-RS880-ALVORIX-ΜATX

On two of the sata motherboard three plugs are in use, the other plug is white (S3) in color and I tried to use this one and no success.

Windows hardware displays the hard drive, but it does not appear in the "Explorer".  I went into the CMOS in the hope that it would recognize the drive, but it does not appear there, the second time I rebooted the system, I get the following error "Master disk failure".

I also bought the PCI Sata card only to find out it does not fit this motherboard.  According to the info on the motherboard, it must be a PCI-E x 16 connector, and I have not been able to locate one with a sata connection.

What should I do to use the white sata connector?

    Thank you for your help.

    H ALVORIX-RS880-ΜATX has 4 Sata headers.

  • How to use the second HARD drive of Satellite A210 - BP1 for mirroring

Satellite A210-BP1 came with 2 HDD (160 GB).
Now, I want to use the second hard drive mirrored the first, one that has Vista installed.
This should be done without supervision and in real time - as a RAID 1.

    How can I do this?
I also have Vista professional available and I would be willing to use 3rd party software as well.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

    Hi Jan

I doubt that this is possible
Why? The point is that you need to use two hard drives in mirroring, RAID striping, mode etc technology
Satellite A210 can't RAID. It s only a SATA controller without RAID capacity!

Therefore, the final answer is; NO, it is not possible to use mirroring

I put t think you know what you're talking about.
I've visited the European driver of Toshiba page and yes I checked the L40 PSL48E and YES download area I found the SATA driver!

Intel Storage Manager contains the necessary SATA driver!

As you suggest, you can create a new Win XP CD and could include the SATA driver to this page using the nLite.
It of not complicated and gentle

    Recommend to check this
