VCS & integration of Lync

Hi all

I have question for integration of lync. For example;

I have a domain for vcs to cisco that is named vcsc.vc.abc.com in vc.abc.com.

and I have another domain for lync, abc.com.

Can I use my a vcs also gateway lync with the same name?

I did the configuration of lync side according to the document and all certificates.

I tried a vcs as a gateway to lync

Finally, I have some errors in the VCS status page

VCS is alive but LYNC gives errors for me which is unknown failure.

Any thoughts?

Kind regards

Hello

According to the VCS-Lync deployment guide:

Be careful when you design your deployment that you do not have multiple gateways by field of Lync, is more than a field of Lync by gateway. There is a walkway VCS (or cluster) in one area of Lync. It is possible to configure several areas Lync, as long as you have an independent gateway serving each. You cannot configure several Lync areas with only one gateway Lync VCS serving all the. You should avoid to configure multiple gateways to serve a single domain of Lync. With this deployment, calls for a video endpoint to a different video endpoint that is called through its area of Lync will get routed via Lync, rather than directly through the collaboration infrastructure. Duo video, end camera control and possibly encryption and the video quality, users could lose.

  • 3610 C & Lync with AMGW VCS integration-

    Hello

I have a client interested in integration of Lync with an AMGW-3610. He wants to use the AMGW for calls of some but not all. I wonder if there is a way to differentiate (prefix?) throught AMGW calls and other calls (direct media between Lync and endpoints) and to "create 2 different routes?

With regard to the way in which the integration of the LYNC/VCS works I don't think that it is possible, but maybe I missed something...

You have an idea if it is possible and how to do this (and any restrictions)?

    Thank you

    Best regards

    François

You should be able to do it on the VCS under Applications > B2BUA > Microsoft OCS/Lync > transcoder policy rules

Have an allow rule for the uri that you want to use the AMGW and a default deny to a lower priority to stop all

  • Integration with Lync 2013 SX20

Hi, we can integrate a stand-alone end SX20 point with Lync 2013 to make video calls point to point between SX20 and Lync client? VCS control is required between Lync and SX20?  Can anyone help me with any document or on this link?

No, at this point, a SX20 cannot communicate directly with Lync.

You will need a VCS running at least version X8.1 of the software.

  • Integration of Lync B2BUA and presence

    Hello

I try to get the presence working between Lync and VCS. I use Findme exposed in Microsoft OCS 2007, Lync 2010, and Cisco VCS methodology

Deployment Guide Cisco VCS x7.1.  We use x7.1 and we have a dedicated control of VCS and a second dedicated VCSLyncGW, we use the running 4.2 and 5.1 codec C20. We have followed the guide and all end points in a subdomain that Lync would start to VCS for the endpoints that are not configured with Findme accounts.

Presence seems to work as it should for staticly assigned endpoints, but for the endpoints findme we can't operate the presence. Calls will work very well between Lync Clents and endpoints are configured with Findme accounts.

When I go to VCSLyncGW and look under the OCS/Lync user status it shows the uri "findeme" with a State of the presence of 'offline' but his 'seat' and 'subscribe '.

I made sure that the account of Lync was first Setup and connected to her waiting 10 minutes before setting up the account findme.

Tips on how to solve the problems?

    Ryan,

did you do that to combine devices in these accounts, using the URI FindMe ([email protected] / * /)?

Could you maybe post a screenshot of one of the accounts FindMe, showing its features and places?

The presence server is enabled on the VCS of GW Lync and not the other control VCS?

  • Integration of Lync with VCS - key Option mandatory?

We implement integration with VCS on x7.2 lync.  Using B2BUA with lync 2010.  Everything works internally with lync configuration, we are only having trouble with lync external participants come and we border routers in the mix.  Direct pools are set up under the name of trust.  We have turned on the highway of the tower.  The calls started from inward of Lync.  VCS sees calls says it is connected, but the appeal does not and then falls normal call clearing.

My thought for the failure, is that the OCS Collaboration option key has not been added.  But I can't tell in the deployment guide, if this key is necessary only if the encryption is in progress.

The other area that we now have on the border routers is if The Edge server and the firewall that the Edge transport server may move multimedia traffic through can then reconfigure to allow RTP over UDP and RTP over TCP to pass.

Can you confirm if the key of the SCO is a requirement for Lync which crosses the highway?  And are there other areas which we recommend why calls set entirely outdoors.

    Hi Kim,

the SCO cooperation improved option key is necessary for this scenario of appeal, stated at pages 13 and 53 in the Lync to X7.2 deployment guide:

Calls on a Microsoft Edge server require the VCS have installed improved OCS Collaboration option key because this key allows the ICE to be used for media connectivity

You are also right that you will need to allow RTP UDP traffic to and from your Edge transport server, as the TURN server on VCS Highway currently does not support the RTP over TCP. If this isn't the case, ice connectivity check between the B2BUA and the Lync client and server Edge fails, which in turn causes to disconnect.

    Hope this helps,

  • VCS 7.2.2. and the integration of Lync 2010

    Hi all / Andreas,.

I was hoping that you could help us with a problem we have in our lab environment to get one of our areas of Lync 2010 and our video customers talk together.

Basically, we have only one video field ([email protected] / * /-2 areas of Lync and [email protected] / * / and [email protected] / * / )

We use a single gateway to lync VC to our laboratory and a VC control that takes care of all the [email protected] / * / registered customers.

The [email protected] / * / can make calls with the two areas of lync 1 and 2 with success.

However only Lync field 1 can communicate with our [email protected] / * /. Lync doman 2 users can not reach a customer VC that their presence shows unknown.

We have no active findMe and prefer not to do this now. (If no record of FindMe on Lync)

Any suggestions/help would be appreciated... Is it even possible that we are trying to achieve?

    Thank you

    SC

With the help of several areas and a third domain for shared video endponints for these two areas is not at least common deployment.

For the best support findme is btw a requirement.

If you want to use two different areas that you would waste away should look into if the old relay of ocs / road direct way might

be a workaround or get two VCS (clusters), one for each area of lync you can point only to a lync destination

address signaling. Not sure if you can fix the routing to Domain2 also in both servers lync.

If you do not get a response better / more input here, be sure to ask your Cisco partner / rep.

  • VCS and integration of Office 365 Lync?

We have recently moved to Office 365 and include features of Lync for Office Office videophone (as well as IM) but we do not have a Lync server on site to do all the required configurations. Anyone out there experience with the integration of these two products?

My hypothesis is that it is still possible to somehow, but we will not be able to configure any end point of VCS to vocation user Lync. Is it possible to still have Lync users to call to an endpoint of VCS (which is what I really want to do anyway)?

My first tests have developed negative did the best that I can with the deployment guide, but I also think I might need to change my domain name to my settings of VCS for a subdomain (as @vcs.mydomain.com), now they are both using the same top level domain name, and I fear that the two systems are not 'find' the other because their research are limited to their respective systems.

Any ideas or help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Chris

    Chris,

You cannot configure Lync to federate to an environment of VCS in the same way that you can federate to other domains running Lync, this isn't how the integration works.

The role of the VCS in integration with OCS/Lync is to translate between Microsoft SIP and based on the SIP standard, which is the reason why a or several control devices VCS need to communicate directly with a Director or a Front End Processor. You cannot communicate directly with a low of VCS an OCS/Lync Edge server.

I'm not familiar with Office 365 and which control this service gives you on your server (if any) infrastructure, but if you look at the deployment of OCS/Lync and setup guide, you must perform the VCS on the OCS/Lync server to trust them and possibly to set up static routes I do not think that you will be able to perform these steps by using Office 365 (please, correct me if I'm wrong).

  • Cisco VCS X6.1 and MS Lync 2010 over TLS

    Hi all!

I have a problem of integration CiscoVCS (X6.1) and Lync 2010.

I couldn't configure control VCS to Lync connection over TLS, but I've done with TCP.

If I try to TLS, there is detail = "bad packet length", event = 'Outbound TLS negotiation Error' records in the control of VCS event log.

The VCS and Lync certificates are of the same CA approved with their FQDNs as object names and the VCS and complete Lync with EDCS are in the DNS system. Of course, VCS and complete Lync, what subjects of certificates, used in VCS approved area and host of destination trust app Lync.

Calls for VCS is the intellectual property of the EFF Lync. We use no HLB and administration. Also, VCS is autonomous, without any load balancers or clustering.

Lync signaling is done, but as I see it, VCS cannot send the data back.

    Lync is on Server 2008 R2 x 64

    Thanks for your suggestions!

In reflection of the c20 position, what image software do you run on the VCS?

  • Integration of MS Lync with telepresence

Hello world. I have a question about the integration of MS Lync with telepresence. VCS - C will be sufficient for the integration with MS Lync server 2013? I heard that VCS gateway additional Lync is needed for this. And what about licensing, we need to activate the license of Microsoft on CV interoperability to make integration work?

    Would appreciate your responses.

I would recommend that you read the deployment guide.

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/support/unified-communications/Telepresence...

Please also search the forum, you will find several threads dealing with these issues.

In short, the official way is to deploy a dedicated VCS - C or C-Expressway.

But depending on the size and the friendly deployment you may have other options.

If you want to have appropriate support, Yes, you would need the collaboration enhanced, now called

    Key to Microsoft Interoperability.

  • Cisco VCS Lync Interworking with Lync Server/multiple domains

Unfortunately I don't find any reference in the guides of deploymend, if it is possible to master several server/domains on a single VCSE lync. Is there a way to gather environments different lync with a vcs? For example, interoperability with clients a and b, which have completely separated from lync environments.

We wanted to master it with VCSE, or is the Microsoft key option only avalible for VCS?

    Thanks for the reply.

The Deployment Guide says you should use a VCS-control, not a VCS-Highway to serve as gateway of Lync.

I don't think I have several B2BUAs connect to Lync on a single VCS - you would need to have a separate VCS for each Lync environment (IE, one for the customer) and another for client B and search rules appropriate to direct traffic areas in the right direction.

  • Presence with VCS and Findme

    Hello!

What is the reason why the VCS who runs findme has also run the presence server.

With the combination that there must be only one server of presence for a specific domain

and the need that an area should be added on the presence server, authentication...

This does not fit on some deployments I've seen.

There is no known workaround solution? I would like to have a dedicated presence, server

eventually manage several domains, just do presence and then maybe other VCS

running findme (findme different clusters, as this is also possible with TMSPE).

And perhaps so VCS with integration of Lync (who also have the obligation to perform

    Server presence in this topic).

    Hi Martin,

FindMe and presence server must reside on the same VCS since it is currently the only way the presence server will be able to aggregate the presence to devices which are linked to an account FindMe.

  • Audio-video time real (RTAV) 4.6 view

    Hello

I'm experimenting with running Lync 2010 according to VDI (XP / Win7). For this I need a way to connect devices to the end-user (webcam, microphone and headphones) for desktop view. Since it is a green field situation I have the choice of getting audio / video that is suitable for this purpose (USB, analog, Bluetooth wireless, or any combination of that). End users have a combination of Windows with View client installed boxes, the boxes of Windows RE-configured as thin clients (kinda the same) and of course zero clients (Wyse P20) to complicate things. All the these must be able to transfer audio / video of the end-user in Lync 2010, if all goes well with correct performance.

What caught my interest the other day is RTAV - I fell on it all by looking for ways to make the above and immediately confused with requirements. See here:

    http://blogs.VMware.com/EUC/2013/07/3370.html

They say I need client-side user view Horizon (easy, downloaded later and he connects very well to our 4.6 view servers), State but I need "Horizon view 5.2 (or later version) view Agent" inside the guest VM:

More on your guest virtual machine, you need an Agent horizon view 5.2 (or higher) to view, along with the Horizon of VMware View 5.2 Feature Pack 2

How are we going to find 5.2 agent view invited inside VM on a 4.6 view server install? Can it be done at all? I was able to install 5.3 view Agent in one of the test of Windows 7 discovered desktop computers, but after he successfully installed the console administrator 4.6 display shows it as "Agent unreachable". I rebooted time invited VM and Horizon of VMware View Agent service, no change.

We use ESXi 4.1 build 1050704, discover 4.6 366101 with the composer, are a few pools and an upgrade to 5.x view would require a lot of things to upgrade. If we cannot get RTAV work with 4.6 view going to abandon this until we can improve our entire infrastructure.

    Thank you

    Hello

If you run a server connection see 5.2 environment ie 5.2. If it comes to greenfield, suggest then you pick up the latest version 5.3, and it needs to connect to the Server 5.3. It will then detect the 5.2 (or agents of 5.3). On the agents, you install the feature pack. You will not be able to install a broker in an environment of 4.6 5.2 4.6 connection server don't "understand" agents of 5.2. For support - for a 5.2 RTAV environment, you must install the Feature Pack 2 and an environment 5.3 to the FP1.

Notes; If it is a greenfield site - is it possible to use Lync2013? If Yes, then view has integration with Lync 2013, which means that you can enjoy all the benefits of Lync (i.e. audio and video goes direct to the recipient, rather than having to pass through the virtual machine in the data center) which reduces hair pinning effect.

  • Integration of VCS with Lync (impossible to decode the SDP)

    Hello

This is my first post here, and I would like to know your opinion on the issue below:

Scenario: VCS running 7.1 with B2BUA and SIP using TLS connection. Microsoft Lync 2010 (a VET), no user FindMe, just static road.

SIP TLS connection is active on both sides. Managed to call from customer end points Lync, Lync unfortunally endpoints customers I get a response "400 Unable to decode SDP." The static route is configured to send calls to port 5061 on VCS.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

    Kind regards.

    Didler,

the static route to Lync to VCS should not point to port 5061 when you use B2BUA, but rather the B2BUA listening port incoming connections from OCS/Lync, which is default 65072.

This is described in detail on pages 67 and 68 of the OCS/Lync for X7.1 deployment guide.

    Hope this helps,

    Andreas

  • Cisco VCS and integration Lync2013

    Hello!

Could you tell me please, when CISCO officially support Lync2013 - free new software for VCS - C and documentation on integration?

The main interest is the possibility of transferring video between CISCO/MCU and Lync endpoints on the H.264 Protocol, who hails from Lync2013.

Right now, I've got VCS - C and RTM Lync2013 X7.2. During the video call without AMGW appeal established as audio only.

When using with Lync2010, it worked on Protocol H.263 and CIF resolution.

    Evgeniy salvation,

We are currently investigating the possibilities to achieve interoperability between Lync 2013, VCS and video devices on the side of the VCS standards-based, it is a work in progress and at this stage, it is to early to provide any factual information on when interop will be available.

In contrast to Lync 2010, Lync 2013 does not support H.263 for video and it so that will remove the OCS/Lync integration. I do however think that you should be able to make a two-way video between Lync 2013 and VCS-joined endpoints if you use an AMGW tried that yet?

    Thank you
